Molecular dynamics study of the effects of deposition parameters on Si0.5Ge0.5 film growth on Ge(100) substrate

With the widespread application of SiGe films in the semiconductor field, precisely controlling the growth process to obtain high-quality films has become an important research direction. This study focuses on the growth of Si0.5Ge0.5 films on Ge (100) substrates and investigates the effects of different deposition parameters (such as deposition interval, incident energy, incident angle, and substrate off-angle) on film quality. Through molecular dynamics simulations, the effects of these deposition parameters on the crystal structure, dislocation density, and surface roughness of the films are systematically analyzed. The results show that shorter deposition intervals lead to faster atomic deposition, increasing the proportion of disordered atoms;longer deposition intervals effectively reduce the proportion of disordered atoms, but excessively long intervals may increase surface roughness and form island-like structures. Additionally, appropriate incident energy, incident angle, and substrate off-angle can significantly optimize the film quality, with the surface roughness being minimized when the incident energy is 1 eV. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

Based on the technical requirements for emergency repair of damaged subsea oil and gas pipelines, an enhanced pipeline repair clamp is designed. In order to facilitate the installation of subsea environment, a hydraulic cylinder auxiliary installation mechanism is designed. Based on the reinforcement requirements of damaged part of pipelines, the enhanced components are designed and the slip enhanced structure is designed. Analyzed the sealing technology of the clamp, and found that double sealing technology is adopted by the clamp, resulting in higher reliability of pipeline repair sealing. The formula for calculating the key parameters of the wall thickness of the clamp is provided. The above work can provide reference for the design and application of enhanced pipeline repair clamp. © 2023 The Authors.

High voltage direct current (HVDC) lines allow low-loss transmission over long distances. The multi-terminal HVDC network consists of multiple terminals connected by HVDC lines, and each area shares the frequency reserve. Through secondary frequency control, the frequency of AC and DC areas can be regulated back to the set point when the system frequency has deviated. In this paper, a data-driven model predictive control (MPC) strategy is proposed. The Kooman operator is used to obtain the high-dimensional linear model of a nonlinear system, and the Deep Learning method is used to approximate the infinite-dimensional Koopman operator. The nominal MPC is used for optimization and control, and the optimal problem is solved for the Koopman linearized system. The optimal control is applied to the original nonlinear system. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In view of the problems of high energy consumption, long inventory time and low production efficiency in the production process of traditional aluminum extrusion machine, this paper establishes an efficient two-stage parallel scheduling optimization model based on the integration of flexible job shop scheduling and assembly sequence planning (IFJSS-ASP). On this basis, an evolutionary algorithm combining strong dominance relationship and simple grouping method (SDREA-SGM) is proposed. The algorithm utilizes a two-stage hybrid chromosome encoding and decoding method to establish a rational mapping from the decision space to the solution space. Furthermore, in order to prevent the model from easily falling into local optima, an adaptive intra-class and inter-class pairing selection strategy has been adopted by the algorithm. This enhances global search and improves local search flexibility. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm are verified by solving problems of different scales.

Vehicle platoon is one of the concrete manifestations of multi-vehicle cooperative control and intelligent transportation. However, the velocity perturbation in the driving process will bring about stability and safety problems. The connected autonomous vehicles (CAVs) can obtain the motion status of the lead vehicle in real time and respond to it in time, which is of far-reaching significance to platoon control. Based on this, this paper focuses on the longitudinal driving strategy of connected autonomous vehicle platoons. Specifically, we provide a discrete double-integral model controller for each vehicle in a generic scenario, and the controller performs acceleration and deceleration control at each timeslot according to the state of the vehicle in front and its own state. Simulation experiments are designed by varying the size of the platoon and the number of connected autonomous vehicles. The experimental results show that the introduction of connected autonomous vehicles can effectively suppress the platoon velocity perturbation, increase the stability of the platoon driving, and significantly reduce the fuel consumption at the same time.

Spray dust reduction is a commonly used dust reduction method in coal mines and has been widely adopted. However, the thermal stability of coal dust after being wetted by dust suppressants remains unknown. The work aimed to investigate the potential environmental hazards posed by the secondary dust dispersion resulting from the cracking of lump coal dust after being wetted by surfactants and subsequently air-dried. Lignite and AES were used as experimental samples. Use thermodynamic equations to analyze, calculate, and compare the changes in the average apparent activation energy of lignite before and after AES solution wetting. Compared with lignite before AES solution wetting, the combustion characteristic index of lignite decreased by 1.93 % after wetting, and before and after AES solution wetting, the average apparent activation energy of lignite calculated by reaction kinetics methods decreased by 7.6 %, 6.7 %, and 17.1 % respectively. FTIR analysis shows the proportion of aliphatic hydrocarbons in lignite after AES solution wetting has decreased compared with before wetting, and the proportion of oxygen-containing functional groups has shown an upward trend. The work elucidated the complex microscopic mechanisms underlying hazards caused by secondary dust dispersion, providing new scientific evidence for preventing and controlling coal dust explosion accidents. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.

To improve the disturbance rejection ability and repetitive tracking accuracy of manipulators, a composite iterative learning control (ILC) scheme via generalized proportional integral observer (GPIO) is proposed. A high-order polynomial is first employed to model the time-varying disturbances that include unmodeled dynamics, parameter uncertainties and load fluctuations. A GPIO is then designed to estimate the disturbances and high-order time derivatives. By introducing estimations into a PD-type ILC at each iteration, a composite control scheme is obtained, such that the undesirable influence of time-varying disturbances can be effectively attenuated in the repetitive tracking process of manipulators. In this paper, the rigorous stability analysis of the closed-loop system is presented to guarantee that the tracking error exponentially converges to zero as the iteration number tends to infinity. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is finally verified by simulation results. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Visual navigation in complex environments is inefficient with traditional reactive policy or general-purposed recurrent policy due to the long-term memory problem. To address this issue, this paper proposes a graph attention memory (GAM) architecture consisting of memory construction module, graph attention module, and control module. The memory construction module builds the topological graph based on supervised learning by taking the exploration prior. Then, guided attention features to reach the goal are extracted with the graph attention module. Finally, the deep reinforcement learning based control module makes decisions based on visual observations and guided attention features. In addition, the convergence of the proposed GAM module for recurrent attention operation is analyzed in this paper. We evaluate GAM-based navigation system in two complex 3D ViZDoom environments. Experimental results show that the GAM-based navigation system outperforms all baselines in both success rate and navigation efficiency, and significantly improves the generalization. © 2022 IEEE.

Due to the prediction errors and diverse driving styles of surrounding vehicles, traffic congestion and even accidents can occur in the traffic bottleneck area where vehicles merge into the main road. To ensure that connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) can quickly and efficiently merge into the main road, this paper proposes a cooperative trajectory planning method based on optimal control for vehicle cut-in scenarios. A optimal control model is constructed, and a quintic polynomial is used to generate the initial solution of the optimal control problem to accelerate the solution process and improve the success rate. Finally, The obtained merging trajectory is then synchronized with the movement of vehicles on the main road to optimize their actions and ensure a safe merging process. Joint simulation with Robot Operating system (ROS) and RVIZ is utilized, and the results show that the proposed algorithm can quickly obtain cooperative results, the locally successful merging trajectory meets the requirements of smoothness and safety, and if the solution does not allow merging, the merging vehicle is instructed to terminate the execution.
