Elimination of antibiotic resistance genes and adaptive response of Firmicutes during chicken manure composting

Aerobic composting is an effective method for reducing the abundance of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), but its effectiveness is influenced by the complex conditions during the process. However, the impact of composting conditions on the fate of ARGs and the underlying mechanisms remains unclear. This study examined the profile of ARGs, their mobility potential, hosts, and the risk of antibiotic resistome under different chicken manure composting conditions. A total of 708 ARGs were identified, and composting reduced their relative abundance by 29.4 %–82.4 %. Composting amendments and aeration rates exhibited similar elimination efficiencies for ARGs at different levels. However, low initial moisture content (50 %) caused a rebound in ARG abundance during the maturation phase. ARGs were mainly located on plasmids. After composting, the percentage of plasmid-born ARGs decreased from 46.3 %–70.8 % to 28.4 %–49.0 %. ARGs co-localized with mobile genetic elements displayed similar trends. The tolerance of Firmicutes to low moisture content played a key role in the rebound of ARGs and variations in their mobility potential. Composting reduced antibiotic resistance and ARG mobility in pathogens. Conversely, low moisture content hindered this attenuation effect in Firmicutes, which increased antibiotic resistome risk. This study provides comprehensive insights into the fate of ARGs and highlights the environmental risks of ARGs during composting. © 2025

Hybrid optimization of dynamic deployment for networked fire control system

With applying the information technology to the military field, the advantages and importance of the networked combat are more and more obvious. In order to make full use of limited battlefield resources and maximally destroy enemy targets from arbitrary angle in a limited time, the research on firepower nodes dynamic deployment becomes a key problem of command and control. Considering a variety of tactical indexes and actual constraints in air defense, a mathematical model is formulated to minimize the enemy target penetration probability. Based on characteristics of the mathematical model and demands of the deployment problems, an assistance-based algorithm is put forward which combines the artificial potential field （APF） method with a memetic algorithm. The APF method is employed to solve the constraint handling problem and generate feasible solutions. The constrained optimization problem transforms into an optimization problem of APF parameters adjustment, and the dimension of the problem is reduced greatly. The dynamic deployment is accomplished by generation and refinement of feasible solutions. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is effective and feasible in dynamic situation.

Effective approach for outdoor obstacle detection by clustering LIDAR data context

A method of environment mapping using laser-based light detection and ranging （LIDAR） is proposed in this paper. This method not only has a good detection performance in a wide range of detection angles, but also facilitates the detection of dynamic and hollowed-out obstacles. Essentially using this method, an improved clustering algorithm based on fast search and discovery of density peaks （CBFD） is presented to extract various obstacles in the environment map. By comparing with other cluster algorithms, CBFD can obtain a favorable number of clusterings automatically. Furthermore, the experiments show that CBFD is better and more robust in functionality and performance than the K-means and iterative self-organizing data analysis techniques algorithm （ISODATA）.

Trajectory synchronization of multi-cylinder electrohydraulic lift system with huge load

A kind of four degree-of-freedom （DOF） electrohydraulic lift system is studied in this pa- per, after analyzing the motion characteristics and the mathematic model of the hydraulic cylinders, a cross-coupled synchronization method with load force and synchronization error feedback had been proposed to solve the synchronization problem encountered when realizing the needed roll and pitch attitude of the lift system. In this paper, mathematic model of asymmetric hydraulic cylinder was es- tablished and the lift system had been simplified to a dual-cylinder system. By incorporating the load force and the displacement of each cylinder, a cross-coupled synchronized control method was pro- posed to fit each cylinder＇ s tracking performance and multi-cylinder＇ s trajectory synchronization property. The proposed method not only solved the synchronization problem when multi-cylinder had a same trajectory, but also could fit the coordinated synchronization need when different trajectories of multi-cylinder were desired. Simulations and experiments on a four DOF electrohydraulic lift sys- tem with load of 100 tons verified the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Motion Planning Method for Obstacle Avoidance of 6-DOF Manipulator Based on Improved A* Algorithm

The conventional A* algorithm may suffer from the infinite loop and a large number of search data in the process of motion planning for manipulator. To solve the problem,an improved A* algorithm is proposed in this paper by the means of selecting middle points and applying variable step segments searching during the searching process. In addition,a new method is proposed for collision detection in the workspace. In this paper,the MOTOMAN MH6 manipulator with 6-DOF is applied for motion plan. The algorithm is based on the basis of the simplification for the manipulator and obstacles by cylinder enveloping. Based on the analysis of collision detection,the free space can be achieved which makes it possible for the entire body to avoid collisions with obstacles. Compared with the Conventional A*,the improved algorithm deals with less searching points and performs more efficiently. The simulation developed in VC + + with OpenGL and the actual system experiments prove effectiveness and feasibility of this improved method.

To enhance the robustness of the smooth and discontinuous (SD) oscillator system, an electromagnet incorporating displacement-velocity state feedback control is integrated above the oscillator. The electromagnetic interaction between the electromagnet and the oscillator facilitates accelerated system stabilization. This study investigates a novel electromagnetic SD oscillator. Initially, the steady-state amplitude-frequency and phase-frequency response characteristics are derived using the averaging method, with an analysis of how each state feedback parameter influences the amplitude-frequency curve. Utilizing Lyapunov stability theory and the Routh criterion, the stability conditions for the system's periodic solutions are established. Subsequently, the Melnikov theorem is employed to determine the necessary conditions for the onset of chaos within the system. Dynamic bifurcation analysis, maximum Lyapunov exponent (LLE) curves, and system behaviors under various parameters are examined to assess the impact of state feedback parameters on the chaotic boundary curve. On this basis, the global bifurcation characteristics of different parameters of the system are studied by using the cell mapping method, and the influence of each parameter on the number of attractors and the domain of attraction is analyzed. Finally, the displacement transmissibility is used to evaluate the vibration isolation effect of the system. The findings indicate that the electromagnetic SD oscillator exhibits superior vibration reduction capabilities, effectively mitigating chaos and bifurcation phenomena. Optimal selection of state feedback parameters enables rapid system stabilization under external excitation conditions. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

This paper develops an iterative solution model for the efficient and accurate simulation of the dynamics of a three-dimensional (3D) train-periodic slab track-subgrade (TPSTS) system. The entire system is divided into the train-rail subsystem and the periodic slab-subgrade subsystem. An ordinary differential equation (ODE) model of the train-rail system is established, and a step-moving strategy is employed to enhance the computational efficiency. A frequency-domain Green's function method (GFM) model is employed for modelling the periodic slab-subgrade. Considering the periodicity, symmetry, and attenuation characteristics of the track structure, the Green's function of the slab-subgrade structure is obtained by conducting harmonic response analysis on a finite element model (FEM) of a quarter slab-subgrade structure. The proposed model is utilized to investigate the vibration characteristics of the high-speed train-track-subgrade system. The results indicate that the model exhibits good convergence, accuracy, and efficiency. The periodicity of the track structure has a significant impact on the statistical values of subgrade displacement and stress amplitudes along the track's longitudinal direction. At the subgrade surface, the amplitudes of displacement, stress, and acceleration exhibit fluctuations in the lateral direction of the track. However, with increasing depth, these amplitudes generally attenuate, leading to a more uniform distribution. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

Automatic Tea Bud Detection (TBD) is a critical technology in intelligent tea-picking systems. Nevertheless, challenges, such as complex environments and the high visual similarity between tea buds and backgrounds, frequently result in false detection and missed detection, especially for small tea buds. To address these issues, in this paper, an automatic TBD method is proposed, which is built upon the YOLOv11 object detection framework, named TBD-Y. Firstly, a Synergistic Object-Spatial Attention (SOSA) mechanism is proposed, which incorporates the proposed Local Context Attention (LCA) mechanism o enhance the features in both spatial and regional dimensions. It enables the network to focus more on the tea bud regions, and suppress the interference from background noise. Secondly, a Global-local Attention Guided Feature Fusion (GAGFF) strategy is designed. It consists of two branches: one branch enhances low-resolution, high-level features containing rich global semantic information, while the other branch strengthens high-resolution features that preserve low-level visual details. The fusion of these two branches improves the representation capability of the features. The SOSA and GAGFF are integrated into the YOLOv11 framework, constructing three variants of the TBD model with different parameter scales, named TBD-Y-L, TBD-Y-M, and TBD-Y-S. Experimental results on the self-built TBD dataset and the publicly available Global Wheat Head Dataset 2021 (GWHD_2021) demonstrate that the proposed TBD-Y-L outperforms the existing methods, achieving a superior detection accuracy. Furthermore, the TBD-Y-S model exhibits improved detection accuracy compared to YOLOv11-L, while maintaining lower model parameters and computational complexity. © 2025, The Authors. Near minimum-time feedback attitude control with multiple saturation constraints for agile satellites

Agile satellites are of importance in modern aerospace applications, but high mobility of the satellites may cause them vulnerable to saturation during attitude maneuvers due to limited rating of actuators, This paper proposes a near minimum-time feedback control law for the agile satellite attitude control system. The feedback controller is formed by specially designed cascaded sub-units. The rapid dynamic response of the modified Bang Bang control logic achieves the near optimal property and ensures the non-saturation properties on three-axis. To improve the dynamic performance, a model reference control strategy is proposed, in which the oniline near optimal attitude maneuver path is generated by the cascade controller and is then tracked by a nonlinear back-stepping controller. Furthermore, the accuracy and the robustness of the control system are achieved by momentum-based on-line inertial identification. The rapid attitude maneuvering can be applied for tasks including the move to move case. Numerical simulations are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy in terms of the saturation-free property and rapidness.
