Accurate detection of protein binding sites is critical for facilitating drug design. Most existing models rely on features at a single scale, leading to the loss of crucial global or local structural information. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel 3D model (ResPocket), to fully capture the multi-scale features of proteins. First, Residual Block (ResB) based on U-Net is used to capture features from different scales, including global and local structural information. Then, an Enhanced Attention Module (EAM) is designed to encode semantic dependencies by effectively capturing global context information. In addition, ResPocket focuses on learning local information about protein pockets with Self-Guided Mask Block (SGMB), to increase the robustness of the overall model and reduce its dependence on external mask guidance. Experimental results show that ResPocket improves by an average of 4.89% on DCA Top-n, by an average of 1.48% and 2.25% on DCC and DVO metrics, respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

Games have been the perfect test beds for artificial intelligence (AI) research for the characteristics that widely exist in real-world scenarios. Learning and optimization, decision-making in dynamic and uncertain environments, game theory, planning and scheduling, design, and education are common research areas shared between games and real-world problems. Numerous open-source games or game-based environments have been implemented to study AI. In addition to single- or multiplayer, collaborative, and adversarial games, there has also been growing interest in implementing platforms for creative design in recent years. Those platforms provide ideal benchmarks for exploring and comparing AI ideas and techniques. This article reviews the games and game-based platforms for AI research, provides guidance on matching particular types of AI with suitable games for testing and matching particular needs in games with suitable AI techniques, discusses the research trend induced by the evolution of those games and platforms, and gives an outlook. © 2024 IEEE.

The current diagnostic methods for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) based on Resting-State Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (rs-fMRI) face two significant challenges. Firstly, the functional connectivity networks (FCNs) of the brain are subject to uncertainty due to noise interference during the rs-fMRI acquisition process. Secondly, variations in equipment parameters across different imaging sites lead to diverse distributions of collected features. To address these issues, this paper introduces a novel Multi-Task Stacked Adaptive Fuzzy Neural Network (AT-STTSK) specifically designed for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) classification. The proposed network seamlessly integrates a Multi-Output TSK (MO-TSK) fuzzy system, a Stacked Autoencoder (SAE), and a Transformer. This integration aims to reduce the impact of uncertainty factors, enhance the model's interpretability, and leverage the multi-head attention mechanisms to capture both local and global information, thus strengthening feature learning. Additionally, we explore the utilization of a Contrastive Learning (CL) strategy to further optimize the model. By incorporating these advancements, our AT-STTSK network offers a promising approach for improving the accuracy and reliability of ASD diagnosis based on rs-fMRI data. The validity of the method in this paper is verified on ABIDE dataset, and the result shows that the accuracy rate can reach 85.7% at most. © 2024 IEEE.

A new fine-grained image recognition algorithm (P-ResViT, Paired Interaction Res50-ViT) based on CNN-Transformer is proposed to address the issue of existing fine-grained image recognition methods based on convolutional neural networks (CNN) lacking attention mechanisms and difficulty in accurately locating key regions, as well as weak ability to extract contextual information and global features. This algorithm introduces paired interaction attention mechanisms to supplement external attention. This algorithm can utilize the self attention mechanism of the Vision Transformer and the external attention mechanism formed by paired image inputs during training to achieve precise positioning, while preserving the inductive bias and local feature extraction capabilities of CNN. Firstly, the fine-tuning improved ResNet-50 completes local feature extraction and obtains high-resolution feature maps. Secondly, the Transformer encodes the tokenized image blocks of the feature map as input sequences for extracting global context. Finally, the Transformer completes global feature extraction and outputs the classification sequence. In addition, two external attention mechanisms were introduced by inputting image pairs during training, including collaborative attention mechanisms for similar images and cross attention mechanisms for heterogeneous images, fully utilizing the correlation information between images. After experimental evaluation, the P-ResViT proposed in this article has reached advanced levels in three fine-grained image datasets CUB, CAR, and AIR. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper is concerned with the distributed resilient fusion filtering(DRFF)problem for a class of time-varying multi-sensor nonlinear stochastic systems(MNSSs)with random sensor delays(RSDs).The phenomenon of the RSDs is modeled by a set of random variables with certain statistical *** addition,the nonlinear function is handled via Taylor expansion in order to deal with the nonlinear fusion filtering *** aim of the addressed issue is to propose a DRFF scheme for MNSSs such that,for both RSDs and estimator gain perturbations,certain upper bounds of estimation error covariance(EEC)are given and locally minimized at every sample *** the light of the obtained local filters,a new DRFF algorithm is developed via the matrix-weighted fusion ***,a sufficient condition is presented,which can guarantee that the local upper bound of the EEC is ***,a numerical example is provided,which can show the usefulness of the developed DRFF approach.

Swarm situational awareness technology for uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) is a core technology for mastering environmental information and gaining decision-making advantages. However, evaluation indicators and validation methods for situational awareness technology have always been lacking. This article thoroughly investigates the evaluation methods for situational awareness technology indicators both domestically and internationally. By analyzing the application scenarios of UAV group situational awareness technology, this article proposes an evaluation indicator system and mathematical simulation validation method for situational awareness technology. Finally, the design process and actual verification results of each indicator in the evaluation indicator system are explained in detail. The effectiveness of the evaluation indicator is demonstrated through simulation and comparative research, which further proves the reliability of the validation method. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Launch dynamics of multibody systems (LDMS) studies the forces and motions of the rigid-flexible coupled multibody system composed of an artillery and a projectile during the launch process. In the authors’ previous work, the marching fire of LDMS where the launching carrier experiences a large overall motion in space is simulated, with the artillery being formulated by the multibody system transfer matrix method (MSTMM) and the projectile by the Newton–Euler method. However, such a hybrid formulation does not facilitate the study of LDMS. In this paper, the marching fire of LDMS is formulated in a unified framework of the reduced MSTMM. This is achieved by treating the flexible tube and the rigid projectile as a superelement and deducing the reduced transformation at the output end O of the superelement. The kinematics and kinetics of the superelement are analyzed and then used as basic equations for such deduction. The derived reduced transformation fits for launching subsystem with marching fire including rocket-launcher, and projectile-artillery with or without rifling. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Damping of structural vibration using acoustic black hole (ABH) has shown great potential in vibration and sound control area. A great variety of ABH structures have been proposed and investigated based on theoretical, numerical and experimental methods. The experimental test of ABH effect applied to a real equipment is still lacking. In this paper, the experimental investigation into the ABH’s vibrating absorbing effect and its automotive applications are reported. An ABH dynamic vibration absorber (ABH-DVA) is manufactured and attached to the surface of the engine-cover, in order to absorbing the vibration of the cover transmitted by the operating engine. The vibration and sound radiation are measured with and without the ABH-DVA. Results show that the proposed ABH-DVA could provide an effective damping for the vibration and sound radiation of the engine cover in a nearly non-intrusive manner. This work thus demonstrates the potential of ABH in the application of automotive vibration and sound control. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Twin-screw extrusion technology, characterized by its continuity, flexibility, and automation, has become increasingly important in the production process of energetic materials. However, traditional civil twin-screw extruders are unsuitable for producing energetic materials with high mechanical and temperature sensitivity due to process and safety limitations. It is imperative to design and optimize a twin-screw extruder suitable for the production process of energetic materials. In this study, nine groups of screw configurations were designed using Ludovic Software, based on an existing twin-screw extruder in a factory. The effect of screw configuration on the critical stimulus of single-base propellant extrusion process was investigated, and the optimal screw configuration was selected. The results indicate that the peak pressure decreases with the reduction of compression segments, while the peak temperature increases with the increase of variable pitch threads. Moreover, the mean residence time increases with the increase of mixing segments. The proportion of viscous heat increases with the increase of compression sections and exhibits different changing trends at different temperatures under the barrel. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The harmonic response calculation of rotor system is an important part of the analysis and design of rotating machinery, which has attracted the attention of engineers and designers. This study focuses on the problem that the single harmonic response of the full-order finite element model is computationally intensive and it is not easy to quickly obtain the harmonic response map of the system. Firstly, the full-order finite element dynamic model of three-dimensional isotropic solid shaft is established, and the super-element is generated by CB modal synthesis method. Based on the idea of transfer matrix method, the transfer equation and transfer matrix of solid shaft super-element for steady-state response analysis of rotor system are derived, and the transfer matrix method of solid shaft super-element for steady-state response analysis of isotropic rotor system is formed. Taking the harmonic response calculation of a typical isotropic solid rotor system as an example, the results show that under the premise of ensuring the calculation accuracy, the super-element transfer matrix method of the proposed CB modal synthesis method can greatly improve the calculation efficiency and shorten the calculation time while giving full play to the low calculation scale of the transfer matrix method, which provides an efficient analysis theory and method for the harmonic response calculation of isotropic rotor system. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.
