This paper introduces in detail the origin of the development of automatic control methods, applications and current research hotspots. It also introduces some control methods commonly used in industrial and agricultural production, and expounds the current application hotspots and new advanced control methods that are developing rapidly. The background, current situation and classification of the inverted pendulum platform are introduced in detail. In the first chapter, the LQR method in modern control theory is introduced in detail. The influence of parameters is analyzed through simulink space modeling and simulation control experiment. At the same time, the real-time experiment is also done in combination with the hardware platform. In the second chapter, the fuzzy control theory in intelligent control is introduced in detail. By combining fuzzy control with LQR method, suitable LQR parameters are calculated by pole assignment. After proper adjustment, reasonable fuzzy rules are adopted and adaptive fuzzy control principle is applied to adjust the control situation in real time. Using simulink space modeling, a good simulation control effect is obtained. Finally, the summary is made. © 2024 IEEE.

As one of the most important railway signaling equipment,railway point machines undertake the major task of ensuring train operation *** fault diagnosis for railway point machines becomes a hot *** the advantage of the anti-interference characteristics of vibration signals,this paper proposes an novel intelligent fault diagnosis method for railway point machines based on vibration signals.A feature extraction method combining variational mode decomposition(VMD) and multiscale fluctuation-based dispersion entropy is developed,which is verified a more effective tool for feature ***,a two-stage feature selection method based on Fisher discrimination and ReliefF is proposed,which is validated more powerful than single feature selection ***,support vector machine is utilized for fault *** comparisons show that the proposed method performs *** diagnosis accuracies of normal-reverse and reverse-normal switching processes reach 100% and 96.57% ***,it is a try to use new means for fault diagnosis on railway point machines,which can also provide references for similar fields.

Emergent antisymmetric wrinkling patterns in films on ridged substrates

We report the formation of antisymmetric wrinkling patterns in films on ridged substrates induced by the buckling instability of the substrates via finite element simulations and *** simulated results reveal that the uniaxial compression along the ridge can trigger both the wrinkling instability of the film and the lateral buckling instability of the *** latter could change the wrinkles from a symmetric pattern to an antisymmetric pattern in a range of film-substrate modulus ratio and aspect ratio of the ridge profile,as validated by the experimental observations.A three-dimensional phase diagram with four buckling patterns,i.e.,sole ridge buckling pattern,antisymmetric wrinkling pattern with different wavelengths from ridge buckling,symmetric wrinkling pattern without ridge buckling,and antisymmetric wrinkling pattern with the same wavelength as ridge buckling,is built with respect to the uniaxial compression,modulus ratio,and aspect *** results not only elucidate how and when the interplay between the wrinkling instability and the ridge instability results in the formation of the antisymmetric wrinkling pattern but also offer a way to generate controllable complex wrinkling patterns.

Facial expression recognition under occlusion conditions based on multi-feature cross-attention

Although facial expression recognition (FER) has a wide range of applications, it may be difficult to achieve under local occlusion conditions which may result in the loss of valuable expression features. This issue has motivated the present study, as a part of which an effective multi-feature cross-attention network (MFCA-Net) is proposed. The MFCA-Net consists of a two-branch network comprising a multi-feature convolution module and a local cross-attention module. Thus, it enables decomposition of facial features into multiple sub-features by the multi-feature convolution module to reduce the impact of local occlusion on facial expression feature extraction. In the next step, the local cross-attention module distinguishes between occluded and unoccluded sub-features and focuses on the latter to facilitate FER. When the MFCA-Net performance is evaluated by applying it to three public large-scale datasets (RAF-DB, FERPlus, and AffectNet), the experimental results confirm its good robustness. Further validation is performed on a real FER dataset with local occlusion of the face. © 2024 – IOS Press.

The instantaneous strong impact on the structure of the turret race causes the turret race rolling bearing structure deformation when the tracked armored vehicle is firing. This paper analyzes the forces applied to the turret race on firing, establishes the turret dynamic model, obtains the force characteristics of the turret race at different launching angles. Based on the structure characteristics of the turret race, the nonlinear dynamic model of the raceway-rollers at any angle of the turret race rolling bearing is deduced. Based on the Hertzian contact, the model of the contact force–displacement at any angle position of the turret race rolling bearing is established at different launch angles. The characteristics of the turret race rolling bearing contact force–displacement at different launching angles is obtained through numerical simulation. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

This paper considers the energy-constrained multi-UAV multi-area coverage path planning problem which is a generic technology backbone of many survey applications using multiple UAVs. The problem is usually NP-hard and may not be solved efficiently taking into consideration the scale of the areas to survey. In this paper, we present a two-step strategy to solve this problem approximately. In the first step, we compute coverage paths controlled by different enter/exit points for each polygon area. In the second step, we propose a genetic algorithm-based approach to determine the access order of multiple areas while simultaneously determining the entry point for each area. The above problem can be modeled as a variant of the vehicle routing problem (VRP) taking into account the limitation of the maximum flight distance of each UAV. The simulation experiment results indicate that our approach is able to plan proper paths for the multi-UAV multi-area coverage mission, while the energy constraint is satisfied at the same time. © Chinese Institute of Command and Control 2024.

Learning from demonstration(LfD) allows for the effective transfer of human manipulation skills to a robot by building a model that represents these skills based on a limited number of demonstrated ***,a skilllearning model that can comprehensively satisfy multiple requirements,such as computational complexity,modeling accuracy,trajectory smoothness,and robustness,is still ***,this work aims to provide such a model by employing fuzzy ***,we introduce an LfD model named Takagi-Sugeno-Kang fuzzy system-based movement primitives(TSKFMPs),which exploits the advantages of the fuzzy theory for effective robotic imitation learning of human *** work formulates the TSK fuzzy system and gradient descent(GD) as imitation learning models,leveraging recent advancements in GD-based optimization for fuzzy *** study takes a two-step strategy.(ⅰ) The input-output relationships of the model are established using TSK fuzzy systems based on demonstration *** this way,the skill is encoded by the model parameter in the latent space.(ⅱ) GD is used to optimize the model parameter to increase the modeling accuracy and trajectory *** further explain how learned trajectories are adapted to new task scenarios through local *** conduct multiple tests using an open dataset to validate our method,and the results demonstrate performance comparable with those of other ***,we implement it in a real-world case study.

In this paper, high-speed train is regarded as a single prime point, a new tracking control method combining adaptive control and Kalman filtering is proposed. This paper solves the noise interference problem in the tracking control process of high-speed train. The method first linearises the original system, then uses Kalman filtering to do model estimation, and the controller is designed for the predictive model through adaptive control. Finally, MATLAB is used to simulate and verify the effectiveness of this method. This proposed method successfully solves the problems of nonlinearity, noise interference and unknown parameters in system. The error caused by resistance in the high-speed train tracking control process can be dealt with effectively. © 2024 IEEE.
