Silicon Optical Filter With Widely Tunable Bandwidth Driving by intelligent Algorithms

Capitalizing two silicon rings assisted a Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) structure, we propose and demonstrate picometer narrowband optical filters featuring widely tunable bandwidths, high extinction ratios and low in-band ripples. By tuning the bandwidth of any ring or the resonance offset between the two rings, the filter bandwidth could be flexibly manipulated. Notably, by controlling the phase of the two rings and the MZI structures, the extinction ratios and shape factors of the filter could be commendably improved. It is worth mentioning that a genetic algorithm is employed to efficiently manipulate the various heaters on the optical filter, enabling the attainment of desired target filtering waveforms. Experimental results demonstrate the filter capability to widely adjust its 3dB-bandwidth while maintaining high extinction ratios, low in-band ripples and favorable shape factors. To the best of our knowledge, it is a record bandwidth tuning range among the algorithm-driven pm-narrowband optical filters. With the dominant advantages and high performance, the proposed optical filters are competent to dynamically process the on-chip narrowband signals. © 1983-2012 IEEE.

Modeling of GPS Code and Carrier Tracking Error in Multipath

The code tracking error model of coherent Code tracking loop (CTL) is modified since existing model cannot accurately describe the characteristic that the code tracking error is determined by multipath and correlator spacing in multipath. The noncoherent DOT-product (DOT) power mode CTL is established as a comparison with different CTLs in multipath. Besides, the carrier tracking error model is modified based on the established code tracking error models, which indicates that the carrier tracking error is also determined by the multipath and the correlator spacing. The presented error models indicate that the correlation between the code tracking error and carrier tracking error can be decorrelated. Theoretical analysis shows that the noncoherent DOT power mode CTL is essentially coherent when the discriminator output of carrier tracking loop is zero. The influence of multipath and correlator spacing on CTL and carrier tracking loop is analyzed by simulations.

A bi-level optimization approach for joint rack sequencing and storage assignment in robotic mobile fulfillment systems

This paper studies a novel rack scheduling problem with multiple types of multiple storage locations(RS-MTMS), which can decide the retrieval sequence of racks and assign each rack a storage location after visiting a picking station. A major challenge in RS-MTMS is that the storage assignment problem and the retrieval sequence decision are closely coupled. If the RS-MTMS is solved directly, the storage assignment scheme and the retrieval sequence of racks are generally generated separately, thus resulting in poor performance. To overcome this difficulty, we propose a bi-level optimization approach for jointly optimizing the storage assignment and retrieval sequence(Bi JSR). In Bi JSR, the storage assignment problem is solved by variable neighborhood search(VNS) in the upper-level optimization. Effective candidate modes are incorporated into VNS to improve solution quality and computational efficiency. The sequencing optimization is obtained in the lower-level according to the given storage location set. A transformation strategy with sufficient problem-specific knowledge is developed to identify the lower-level optimization as the traveling salesman problem and its variants. Then these identified problems are solved using the loop-based *** results show that the proposed Bi JSR is more effective and efficient than the representative algorithms in solving the RS-MTMS problem.

Design of a High Speed 360-degree Panoramic Video Acquisition System Based on FPGA and USB 3.0

This paper presents a FPGA-based hardware architecture for capturing real-time panoramic images and the parallel implementation of an image stitching algorithm based on the scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) features. First, the system transfers the images captured by five CMOS sensors to the designed FPGA board through the FMC adapter plate. Then, the system employs the FPGA-based parallel computing to extract the SIFT features and detect the best matching region and points for image registration. Finally, in order to obtain the panoramic image with smooth changes at the junctions, images of the adjacent images are fused. Using the designed FPGA platform makes it possible to extract the SIFT and stitch the images in real-time, which is not realized in most panoramic imaging systems. The panoramic system, developed using the Xilinx Zynq®-7000 all programmable SOC, can capture video of 5*640*480 images at the speed of 60 fps. To enable high-speed image transfer from the imaging system to the host computer, the USB3.0 interface with the transmission speed of 359MB/s has been developed. The real-time efficiency of the parallel system will be demonstrated by the simulations and experiments. IEEE

In the field of radar data processing, track interruption seriously affects target tracking, track fusion, and other tasks. The existing track segment association algorithms have low correlation accuracy in dense distributed or long-time interruption situations. To this purpose, a dense multi-target track segment association (DMTTSA) algorithm is proposed. Firstly, two identical networks based on the multi-head probability sparse (ProbSparse) self-attention are used to capture the long-term dependencies of the tracks. Then, the bidirectional quadruplet hard sample loss (BiQuaHard loss) is constructed to make the tracks belonging to the same targets closer and the tracks belonging to the different targets farther. Finally, DMTTSA takes the closest track pairs in the feature space as the associated tracks and divides the unassociated tracks into the birth and dead tracks in chronological order. Some comparative experiments are carried out to show the anti-noise performance of the DMTTSA, as well as the effectiveness of solving the problem of dense multi-target track interruption.

Formation control of multi-agent systems is an extension of its consensus problem, which has been widely used in control science and engineering, system science, information and communication engineering and other disciplines. Compared with using integral-order calculus to describe the change of the state of the object, the fractional-order calculus can represent and reflect the real physical characteristics of the object better. In this paper, containment control problem of fractional-order nonlinear multi-agent systems with time delay is studied. In spite of the difficulties and challenges caused by the operator complex property and system delay in fractional-order calculus, this paper solves the containment control problem by constructing a quadratic Lyapunov function and using matrix analysis theory, graph theory and fractional Razumikhin method. The conditions of linear matrix inequalities for asymptotically containment control are given. Finally, numerical simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

complex simulation systems usually need to satisfy the credibility requirements and the credibility of complex simulation systems is inextricably linked to the credibility of simulation sub-systems. Hence, in order to guarantee the credibility of complex simulation systems meets requirements, it is necessary to allocate the credibility of simulation sub-systems. complex simulation systems are composed of several correlative simulation sub-systems and their credibility has correlation relationships, which makes it difficult to obtain the credibility of simulation sub-systems quickly. The existing works mostly ignore the relationships between the sub-systems and are difficult to generate the credibility allocation results of simulation sub-systems. In this paper, we model the credibility allocation problem as a probabilistic inference problem based on the pairwise Markov random field (PMRF). In addition, we apply several inference algorithms to perform the inference exactly and approximately in the credibility PMRF. Finally, experiments are conduted on the air defense combat complex simulation system, and the experiment results demonstrate that the proposed method can obtain the credibility allocation results quickly and accurately. © 2023 The Authors.

The evaluation of regional geological hazard susceptibility is of great significance to the prevention and control of geological hazard. In this paper, the "4-20"Lushan earthquake disaster area as the research area, combined with GIS and characteristics of the research area, through correlation analysis, selected 9 influencing factors as the evaluation factors. The study was conducted using a weighted information volume-logistic regression model (WI-LR). The results were classified into five sensitivity levels: very low, low, medium, high and very high. The results show that the landslide prone areas in Lushan County are concentrated in the area below the middle of the county seat, mostly near rivers, faults and areas with peak acceleration greater than 0.4. Among them, WI-LR model (AUC=0.918) > deterministic factor model (CF =0.908) > weighted information quantity model (WI) (AUC=0.896) > information quantity model I (AUC=0.853) > information quantity logistic regression model I-LR (AUC=0.799). It indicates that WI-LR model has high evaluation accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

Central pattern generator (CPG) model can form stable periodic signal through self-excited oscillation without high-level central control. Hopf oscillator is an implementation of CPG model, which has the characteristics of clear parameter meaning and easy adjustment. In this paper, a method of gait planning and dynamic gait switching based on Hopf oscillator model is introduced. Firstly, the model and three gait modes of the robot are introduced. Secondly, an improved Hopf oscillator based on CPG is designed, and the signal generated by the oscillator is used to control the robot's legs. Finally, the simulation results of the three basic walking gaits and gait switching verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm. © 2021 IEEE

Worldwide competition and diverse demand of customers pose great challenges to manufacturing enterprises. How to organize production to achieve high productivity and low cost becomes their primary task. In the mean time, the rapid pace of technology innovation has contributed to the development of new types of flexible automation. Hence, increasing manufacturing enterprises convert to multi-product and small-batch production, a manufacturing strategy that brings increased output, reduced costs, and quick response to the market. A distinctive feature of small-batch production is that the system operates mainly in the transient states. Transient states may have a significant impact on manufacturing systems. It is therefore necessary to estimate the dynamic performance of systems. As the assembly system is a typical class of production systems, in this paper, we focus on the problem of dynamic performance prediction of the assembly systems that produce small batches of different types of products. And the system is assumed to be characterized with Bernoulli reliability machines, finite buffers, and changeovers. A mathematical model based on Markovian analysis is first derived and then, the analytical formulas for performance evaluation of three-machine assembly systems are given. Moreover, a novel approach based on decomposition and aggregation is proposed to predict dynamic performance of large-scale assembly systems that consist of multiple component lines and additional processing machines located downstream of the assemble machine. The proposed approach is validated to be highly accurate and computationally efficient when compared to Monte Carlo simulation.
