Metadata extraction from scholarly PDF documents is the fundamental work of publishing, archiving, digital library construction, bibliometrics, and scientific competitiveness analysis and evaluations. However, different scholarly PDF documents have different layout and document elements, which make it impossible to compare different extract approaches since testers use different source of test documents even if the documents are from the same journal or conference. Therefore, standard datasets based performance evaluation of various extraction approaches can setup a fair and reproducible comparison. In this paper we present a dataset, namely, PARDA(Pdf Analysis and Recognition DAtaset), for performance evaluation and analysis of scholarly documents, especially on metadata extraction, such as title, authors, affiliation, author-affiliation-email matching, year, date, etc. The dataset covers computer science, physics, life science, management, mathematics, and humanities from various publishers including ACM, IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, arXiv, etc. And each document has distinct layouts and appearance in terms of formatting of metadata. We also construct the ground truth metadata in Dublin Core XML format and BibTex format file associated this dataset. © 2019, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Consistent Distributed Cooperative Localization: A Coordinate Transformation Approach

This paper addresses the consistency issue of multi-robot distributed cooperative localization. We introduce a consistent distributed cooperative localization algorithm conducting state estimation in a transformed coordinate. The core idea involves a linear time-varying coordinated transformation to render the propagation Jacobian independent of the state and make it suitable for a distributed manner. This transformation is seamlessly integrated into a server-based distributed cooperative localization framework, in which each robot estimates its own state while the server maintains the cross-correlations. The transformation ensures the correct observability property of the entire framework. Moreover, the algorithm accommodates various types of robot-to-robot relative measurements, broadening its applicability. Through simulations and real-world dataset experiments, the proposed algorithm has demonstrated better performance in terms of both consistency and accuracy compared to existing algorithms. The semileptonic decays of B/B_s meson in the perturbative QCD approach:a short review

In this short review,we present the current status about the theoretical and experimental studies for some important semileptonic decays of B=*** firstly gave a brief introduction for the experimental measurements for B=Bs!Peltl;l ml;m mT decays,the BaBar’s ReDT and ReD T anomaly,the P05deviation for B0!K 0ltl *** then made a careful discussion about the evaluations for the relevant form factors in the light-cone QCD sum rule,the heavy quark effective theory,and the perturbative QCD factorization *** using the form factors calculated in the perturbative(pQCD)approach,we then calculate and show the pQCD predictions for the decay rates of many semileptonic decays of B=*** also made careful phenomenological analysis for these pQCD predictions and found,in general,the following points:(a)For all the considered B=Bssemileptonic decays,the next-to-leading order pQCD predictions for their decay rates agree well with the data and those from other different theoretical methods;(b)For ReDT and ReD T,the pQCD predictions agree very well with the data,the BaBar’s anomaly of ReDe TT are therefore explained successfully in the standard model by employing the pQCD approach;and(c)We defined several new ratios Rl;s Dand Rl;s Ds,they may be more sensitive to the QCD dynamics which controls the B=Bs!eDe T;De T sT transitions than the old ratios,we therefore strongly suggest LHCb and the forthcoming Super-B experiments to measure these new ratios.

The Effect of Quantum Coins on the Spreading of Binary Disordered Quantum Walk

The dynamical and static disordered quantum walks were extensively studied recently. It is found that, for the dynamicM disorder case, the transport behavior of particles is diffusive, and for the static disorder ease the transport behavior is localized. In this work, we study the effect of quantum coins on the transport behaviors of the binary disordered quantum walks. We lind that once the coins satisfy certain conditions, the sub-ballistic spreading could be found in binary dynamical disorder quantum walks, and the sub-ballistic, diffusive and sub- diffusive spreadings could be found in binary static disorder quantum walks. We obtain the necessary conditions for those abnormal diffusive behaviors.

There have two effective ways to improve the overall efficiency of the object-based distributed storage system, one is network caching technology and the other is metadata server cluster load balancing strategy. Under the heterogeneous storage environments, object-based distributed file system face the key challenge of lacking caching mechanism for the high-frequency access files, metadata server load imbalance also reduce the overall efficiency. To address these challenges, we discuss the design and implementation of an object-based distributed file storage caching system, and propose a weight-based metadata server cluster load balancing strategy. It effectively improve the metadata processing capacity. Based on the results, it demonstrated the feasibility and the efficiency of our methods. © 2015 SERSC.

Bicycle sharing system has emerged as a new mode of transportation in many big cities over the past *** the large number of bicycle stations distribute widely in the city,it is difficult to identify their unique attributes and characteristics *** to the real bicycle hire dataset in Hangzhou,China,the clustering analysis for the bicycle stations based on the temporal flow data was carried out ***,based on the spatial distribution and temporal attributes of calculated clusters,visual diagram and map were used to vividly analyze the bicycle hire behavior related to station category and study the travel rules of *** experimental results demonstrate the relation between human mobility,the time of day,day of week and the station location.

Edge computing is an emerging paradigm to meet the ever-increasing computation demands from pervasive devices such as sensors, actuators, and smart things. Though the edge devices can execute complex applications, it is necessary for some applications to migrate to centralized servers. By offloading the computation from the edge nodes to the edge servers or cloud servers, the quality of computation experience could be greatly improved. However, it may cause delay and increase network overheads, and energy consumption eventually. Therefore, an optimal offloading strategy should take into account what task should be offloaded, when to offload and where to offload to avoid the overheads. Thus, it is important to tradeoff between energy consumption, computation delay and throughput when the system makes the computation offloading to achieve high energy efficiency. In this paper, we conduct a survey of energy aware edge computing, including the existing work on computation offloading frameworks and strategies in edge computing. Specifically, we describe the strategies from the perspective of energy aware offloading, energy optimization offloading and offloading algorithms. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2019.

The OraCDP disaster recovery system uses CDP disaster recovery technology based on the combination of block level, combining with the communication coupling between the underlying I/O and Oracle database. The experimental results show that the OraCDP system can not only maintain the normal operation of the original system without any negative influence, but also guarantee the recovery of data and service at specific time quickly, fully and accurately. © 2015 SERSC.

With the increasing demand for space situational awareness and space environment monitoring, space target discovery, tracking, identification and classification technologies have been developed accordingly. At present, the integrated development of machine learning, artificial intelligence and other multidisciplinary disciplines has greatly promoted the progress of space target detection and identification technology. The inverse synthetic aperture radar image can reflect the fine structural features of space targets, which is important for feature extraction and recognition and classification of space targets. In this paper, three aspects of target recognition technologies based on RCS, HRRP and ISAR imaging are reviewed respectively, and the target recognition methods based on ISAR images are mainly discussed and validated. First, the basic problems and common methods of current RCS, HRRP, and ISAR image target recognition are introduced;then, a summary is made for ISAR image target recognition techniques;finally, the still existing problems of current ISAR image target recognition and the next development prospects are discussed. © 2023 IEEE.

The explosive growth in cloud-based services, big data analytics, and artificial intelligence related services provisioning leads to the rapid growth of construction of large scale Internet data centers (IDCs). Modern IDCs are equipped with various sensors to monitor its healthy operation and maintenance states, such as temperature, thermal distribution, air flow, etc. However, fine-grained, single-node level and even mainboard level monitoring including server resource consumption and power consumption is still needed for more progressive resource multiplexing and job scheduling in IDCs. In this paper, we propose an edge computing platform for intelligent Internet data center operational monitoring, which integrates wireless sensors and on-board built-in sensors to sense and collect the data of data center operation and maintenance. The edge computing based solution reduces the latency for data transportation to central clouds and reduces the amount of data and enhances the real time resource capping decisions in data centers. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2019.
