The rapid development of the Internet has revo-lutionized our lives, providing us with an array of convenient services. However, this revolution has also led to the problem of data overload. Personalized recommendation services have been widely recognized as an effective solution to this problem by both the industrial and academic communities. Accurate prediction of click-through rate (CTR) is a critical task in personalized recommendation systems since it can improve the user’s shopping experience, ultimately increasing revenue for the platform. To achieve accurate CTR prediction, it is crucial to capture user interests. While several methods for interest modeling exist, challenges related to user interest evolution and user behavior noise need further attention. This paper proposes a novel CTR prediction model named the Evolutionary Interest Representation Network (EIRN), which learns the evolving interest representation of users from their behaviors, profiles, and environmental attributes. In the model, we introduce an advertisement correlation graph decomposition layer and a noise filter layer to enhance and purify the user behavior representation. An interest extraction layer is designed to capture sequential correlations and common characteristics between user behaviors, representing their interests. Additionally, as user interests evolve over time and their importance changes, an attention-based interest evolution layer is designed to track the evolution of user interests. Our proposed method is validated using four public datasets and an industrial dataset, showing its superiority over existing CTR prediction methods.

Banks play an important role in the financial market, and their profit mainly comes from loan service. Traditional risk management approaches, as the key part in the loan services, still have several issues including low data credibility, unreliable checking and alert delay. We propose a novel dynamic credit risk management system which leverages edge-based blockchain technology to improve the performance and provide a fair loan environment. Besides, we discuss the potential challenges that the system may face, such as data standards, security on edge and scalability.

In this paper, we present a time-delay approach to gradient-based bounded extremum seeking (ES) with large measurement constant delay, for an unknown single-input static quadratic map. We assume that the extremum point and the Hessian $H$ belong to known intervals, whereas the sign of $H$ is known. We apply a time-delay approach to the bounded ES system and arrive at the neutral type system with a nominal linear delayed system. We present the latter system as a retarded one and employ variation of constants formula for practical stability analysis. Explicit conditions in terms of simple scalar inequalities depending on tuning parameters and delay are established to guarantee the practical stability of the bounded ES control systems. Given any delay and neighborhood of the extremum point and through the solution of the constructed inequalities, we find lower bounds on the dither period that ensures the practical stability.

In this article, we introduce a time-delay approach to gradient-based extremum seeking (ES) in the continuous domain for n-dimensional (nD) static quadratic maps. As in the recently introduced (for 2D maps in the continuous domain), we transform the system to the time-delay one (neutral type system). This system is $\mathbf{O}(\varepsilon)$ . ‘perturbation of the averaged linear ODE system. We further explicitly present the neutral system as the linear ODE, where $\mathrm{O}(\varepsilon)$ -terms are considered as disturbances with distributed delays of the length of the small parameter $\varepsilon$ . Quantitative (for uncertain map) and qualitative (for unknown map) practical stability analyses are provided by employing a variation of constants formula that greatly simplifies the results compared to the previously used Lyapunov-Krasovskii (L-K) method. The new approach also simplifies the conditions and improves the results. Examples from the literature illustrate the efficiency of the new approach, allowing essentially large uncertainty of the Hessian matrix with bounds on $\varepsilon$ that are not too small.

A Survey of Knowledge Enhanced Pre-trained Models

Pre-trained language models learn informative word representations on a large-scale text corpus through self-supervised learning, which has achieved promising performance in fields of natural language processing (NLP) after fine-tuning. These models, however, suffer from poor robustness and lack of interpretability. We refer to pre-trained language models with knowledge injection as knowledge-enhanced pre-trained language models (KEPLMs). These models demonstrate deep understanding and logical reasoning and introduce interpretability. In this survey, we provide a comprehensive overview of KEPLMs in NLP. We first discuss the advancements in pre-trained language models and knowledge representation learning. Then we systematically categorize existing KEPLMs from three different perspectives. Finally, we outline some potential directions of KEPLMs for future research. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Nitrogen oxides(NOx),significant contributors to air pollution and climate change,form aerosols and ozone in the ***,timely,and transparent information on NOx emissions is essential for decision-making to mitigate both haze and ozone ***,a comprehensive understanding of the trends and drivers behind anthropogenic NOx emissions from Chinadthe world's largest emitterdhas been lacking since 2020 due to delays in emissions *** we show a consistent decline in China's NOx emissions from 2020 to 2022,despite increased fossil fuel consumption,utilizing satellite observations as constraints for NOx emission estimates through atmospheric *** reduction is corroborated by data from two independent spaceborne instruments:the TROPOspheric Monitoring Instrument(TROPOMI)and the Ozone Monitoring Instrument(OMI).Notably,a reduction in transport emissions,largely due to the COVID-19 lockdowns,slightly decreased China's NOx emissions in *** subsequent years,2021 and 2022,reductions in NOx emissions were driven by the industry and transport sectors,influenced by stringent air pollution *** satellite-based inversion system developed in this study represents a significant advancement in the real-time monitoring of regional air pollution emissions from space.

Communication is an effective mechanism to coordinate the be-havior of mobile multi-agents. We propose a general multi-agent communication framework. With help of graph neural networks and reinforcement learning, this framework can provide a coop-erative detection method with more powerful capabilities. In this paper, we demonstrate the configurable co-detection simulation system. Moreover, the evaluation of the multi-agent communication framework validates that the agents can effectively cooperate with each other through decentralized communication, and effectively reduce computation overhead meanwhile with high scalability.

Federated learning is a distributed training method that integrates multi-party data information using privacy-preserving technologies through dispersed client data sets to jointly construct a global model under the coordination of a central server. However, in practical applications, there is a high degree of data distribution skewness among clients, which causes the optimization direction of the client models to diverge, resulting in model bias and reducing the accuracy of the global model. Existing methods require the calculation and transmission of much information to correct the optimization direction of the client models, or only roughly limit the deviation of the client models end-to-end, ignoring targeted processing of the internal structure of the model, resulting in unclear improvement effects. To address these problems, we propose a federated optimization algorithm FedECCR based on encoding contrast and classification correction. This algorithm divides the model into an encoder and a classifier. It utilizes prototype contrastive training of the model encoder and unbiased classification correction of the classifier. This approach notably improves the accuracy of the global model while maintaining low communication costs. We conducted experiments on multiple data sets to evaluate the validity of our method, and the quantified results showed that FedECCR can improve the global model classification accuracy by approximately 1% to 6% compared to FedAvg, FedProx, and MOON. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2024.

Statistics of active and passive scalars in one-dimensional compressible turbulence

Statistics of the active temperature and passive concentration advected by the one-dimensional stationary compressible turbulence at Reλ=2.56×106 and Mt=1.0 is investigated by using direct numerical simulation with all-scale forcing. It is observed that the signal of velocity, as well as the two scalars, is full of small-scale sawtooth structures. The temperature spectrum corresponds to G(k)∝k−5/3, whereas the concentration spectrum acts as a double power law of H(k)∝k−5/3 and H(k)∝k−7/3. The probability distribution functions (PDFs) for the two scalar increments show that both δT and δC are strongly intermittent at small separation distance r and gradually approach the Gaussian distribution as r increases. Simultaneously, the exponent values of the PDF tails for the large negative scalar gradients are qθ=−4.0 and qζ=−3.0, respectively. A single power-law region of finite width is identified in the structure function (SF) of δT; however, in the SF of δC, there are two regions with the exponents taken as a local minimum and a local maximum. As for the scalings of the two SFs, they are close to the Burgers and Obukhov-Corrsin scalings, respectively. Moreover, the negative filtered flux at large scales and the time-increasing total variance give evidences to the existence of an inverse cascade of the passive concentration, which is induced by the implosive collapse in the Lagrangian trajectories.

Major volcanic eruptions(MVEs)have attracted increasing attention from the scientific *** studies have explored the climatic impact of MVEs over the past two ***,proxy-based reconstructions and climate model simulations indicate divergent responses of global and China’s regional climates to ***,we used multiple data from observations,reconstructions,simulations,and assimilations to summarize the historical facts of MVEs,the characteristics and mechanisms of their climatic impact,and directions for future *** reviewed volcanic datasets and determined intensive MVE periods;these periods corresponded to the years 530–700,1200‒1460,and 1600‒1840 *** tropical MVEs,a substantial cooling effect is observed throughout the globe and China on the interannual-interdecadal time scales but an inconsistent cooling magnitude is detected between reconstructions and *** the first summer after tropical MVEs,a decrease in global and monsoonal precipitation is *** reconstructions and simulations,an increased precipitation is seen for the Yangtze River Basin,while large uncertainties in precipitation changes are present for other regions of *** drought can be induced by frequent eruptions and volcanism superimposed on low solar irradiation and internal *** affect climate directly through the radiative effect and indirectly by modulating internal variability,such as the El Niño‒Southern Oscillation(ENSO)and Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation(AMO).However,changes in the phase,amplitude,and periodicity of ENSO and AMO after MVEs and the associated mechanisms remain controversial,which could account for model-reconstruction ***,other internal variability,uncertainties in reconstruction methods and aerosol‒climate models,and climate background may also induce model-reconstruction *** gaps and directions for future research are also discussed.
