Social media enable users to express their emotion promptly, helping health policy makers to gauge public sentiment of disease outbreak. In this research, we developed an approach to social-media-based public health informatics and built a proof-of-concept system named eMood that helps to collect, analyze, and visualize Ebola outbreak discussions on Twitter. Our approach uses a comprehensive lexicon to identify emotion categories and present analysis findings of users' network relationship and influence patterns. We compared two methods of identifying user influence, user centrality and emotion entrainment, by using 255,118 tweets posted by 210,900 users in January 2015. Experimental results show that both methods identified highly influential users. Regression analysis of user influence rank and emotion scores demonstrates significant relationship between user influence and each emotion category. These results should provide strong implication for understanding social actions and for collecting social intelligence for public health informatics.

Previous researches have well demonstrated the importance of costly punishment for promoting the evolution of cooperation, while it remains unconsidered sides about the punishment. Recent evidences highlight that punishment cannot promote cooperation when punishment can be targeted at cooperators. In this paper, we study the evolutionary process of cooperation in the well-mixed population when the presence of antisocial punishment. Here cooperator can optionally adopt an insurance strategy which incurs an extra cost to resist the threat of antisocial punishment, and she will obtain compensation when being punished by antisocial punisher in the future. With this strategy, cooperators can opportunistically adjust their behavior, which makes cooperators evolve advantageously, and improve individuals' average payoff in population.

Travel time parameters obtained from road traffic sensors data play an important role in traffic management practice. In this paper, a travel time analysis and prediction model was established for urban road traffic sensors data based on the change point analysis algorithm and ARIMA model. Firstly, time series of travel time parameters were clustered by using change point mining algorithm after traffic sensors data preprocessing. Then, a travel time prediction model was established based on ARIMA model. Finally, the model was verified with high accuracy through simulation by using multiple sets of data and analysis of its practicability was done.

Most previous studies involving public goods games are investigated under a simplifying assumption that participators are compulsive in collective interactions and contribute unconditionally to the public pool. Nevertheless, how the conditional investment mechanism based on individual's reputation affects the evolution of cooperation in structured populations is still unclear. Here we introduce a reputation-based conditional investment rule for constituting participant groups into spatial threshold public goods game, where the public goods game can be conducted only if the participant number is not less than the threshold parameter. Interestingly, we find that large threshold parameter results in the optimal environment for cooperators' viability.

Inspired by the discovery of the dibaryon d* and the experimental search of NΩ dibaryon with the STAR data, we study the strange dibaryon NΩ further in the framework of the quark delocalization color screening model and the chiral quark model. We have shown NΩ is a narrow resonance in ΛΞ D-wave scattering before. However, the Λ−Ξ scattering data analysis is quite complicated. Here we calculate the low-energy NΩ scattering phase shifts, scattering length, effective range, and binding energy to provide another approach of STAR data analysis. Our results show there exists an NΩ “bound” state, which can be observed by the N−Ω correlation analysis with RHIC and LHC data, or by the new developed automatic scanning system at J-PARC. In addition, we also find that the hidden-color channel coupling is important for the NΩ system to develop intermediate-range attraction.

In contrast to most real fluids, angular momentum is not a locally conserved quantity in some mesoscopic simulation methods. Here we quantify the importance of this conservation in the flow fields associated with different colloidal systems. The flow field is analytically calculated with and without angular momentum conservation for the multiparticle collision dynamics (MPC) method, and simulations are performed to verify the predictions. The flow field generated around a colloidal particle moving under an external force with slip boundary conditions depends on the conservation of angular momentum, and the amplitude of the friction force is substantially affected. Interestingly, no dependence on the angular momentum conservation is found for the flow fields generated around colloids under the influence of phoretic forces. Moreover, circular Couette flow between a no-slip and a slip cylinder is investigated, which allows us to validate one of the two existing expressions for the MPC stress tensor.

The spontaneous parity-time (PT) symmetry breaking is discussed in non-Hermitian PT-symmetric Kitaev and extended Kitaev models whose Hermiticity is broken by the presence of two conjugated imaginary potentials ±iγ at two end sites. In the case of the non-Hermitian Kitaev model, a spontaneous PT-symmetry breaking transition (SPTBT) occurs at a certain γc in the topologically trivial phase (TTP) region, similar to that of the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model. However, unlike the SSH model, the system also undergoes such a transition in the topologically nontrivial phase (TNP) region. We study an extended Kitaev model by combining the superconducting pairing in the Kitaev model and the staggered hopping in the SSH model. This model contains three different topological phases: the TTP, the Kitaev-like TNP, and the SSH-like TNP. For the non-Hermitian extended Kitaev model, a SPTBT occurs in the Kitaev-like TNP region, as well as in part of the TTP and SSH-like TNP regions, whereas the PT symmetry is broken for an arbitrary nonzero γ in the rest of the TTP and SSH-like TNP regions. Therefore, we can conclude that there is no universal correlation between topological properties and the SPTBT.

In this paper, we extend the studies on the emergent thermodynamics in a quenched quantum Ising chain (QIC) [R. Dorner, J. Goold, C. Cormick, M. Paternostro, and V. Vedral, Phys. Rev. Lett. 109, 160601 (2012)] to a more general quantum spin chain with asymmetrical excitation spectra. We verify that the Jarzynski and Tasaki-Crooks relations are still tenable in this system. As an example, we discuss the behaviors of the work done and irreversible entropy production induced by a sudden quenching in the anisotropic XY chain in a transverse field with the XZY-YZX type of three-site interactions. Different from the QIC, this system has the phase transitions not only between two gapped phases, but also between gapped (or gapless) and gapless phases at zero temperature. We discuss the effects of quantum phase transitions on the work done and irreversible entropy production at low temperature.

Along with the running of Large Hadron Collider(LHC)located at CERN in November 2009,a large number of data samples of Bc meson have been collected and some hadronic Bc decay modes have been measured by the LHC *** view of the special and important roles of Bc meson decays playing in the heavy flavor sector,we here give a short review on the status of two body hadronic decays Bc!M1M2at both experimental and theoretical *** the theoretical progresses,specifically,we will show lots of theoretical studies on two body hadronic Bcdecays involving pseudoscalar,vector,scalar,axial-vector,even tensor meson(s)in the final states by employing the perturbative QCD(pQCD)factorization *** will present a general analysis about the twobody hadronic decays of the heavy Bc meson and also provide some expectations for the future developments.
