This paper presents Artisan, an automated operational amplifier design framework using large language models (LLMs). We develop a bidirectional representation to align abstract circuit topologies with their structural and functional semantics. We further employ Tree-of-Thoughts and Chain-of-Thoughts approaches to model the design process as a hierarchical question-answer sequence, implemented by a mechanism of multi-agent interaction. A high-quality opamp dataset is developed to enhance the design proficiency of the Artisan-LLM. Experimental results demonstrate that Artisan outperforms state-of-the-art optimization-based methods and benchmark LLMs, in success rate, circuit performance metrics, and interpretability, while accelerating the design process by up to 50.1X. Neural network pruning is a popular approach to reducing the computational complexity of deep neural *** recent years,as growing evidence shows that conventional network pruning methods employ inappropriate proxy metrics,and as new types of hardware become increasingly available,hardware-aware network pruning that incorporates hardware characteristics in the loop of network pruning has gained growing attention,Both network accuracy and hardware efficiency(latency,memory consumption,etc.)are critical objectives to the success of network pruning,but the conflict between the multiple objectives makes it impossible to find a single optimal *** studies mostly convert the hardware-aware network pruning to optimization problems with a single *** this paper,we propose to solve the hardware-aware network pruning problem with Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithms(MOEAs).Specifically,we formulate the problem as a multi-objective optimization problem,and propose a novel memetic MOEA,namely HAMP,that combines an efficient portfoliobased selection and a surrogate-assisted local search,to solve *** studies demonstrate the potential of MOEAs in providing simultaneously a set of alternative solutions and the superiority of HAMP compared to the state-of-the-art hardware-aware network pruning method.

Effect of Zn and Y Additions on Grain Boundary Movement of Mg Binary Alloys During Static Recrystallization

Texture evolution in rolled Mg-1 wt%Zn and Mg-1 wt%Y binary alloys was analyzed by quasi-in situ electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)during static ***-1 wt%Zn and Mg-1 wt%Y alloys exhibited strong basal texture at the initial recrystallization *** grain growth annealing,the basal texture component{0001}<1120>was increased in Mg-1 wt%Zn alloy and that of Mg-1 wt%Y alloy was decreased to be a random *** and Y atoms segregated strongly to the recrystallized grain boundaries in Mg-1 wt%Zn alloy and Mg-1 wt%Y alloy,***,Zn and Y elements facilitated the grain boundary movements along contrary directions during grain *** Mg-1 wt%Zn alloy,due to the Zn element segregation on grain boundaries,the grains consisted of a strong texture grew more easily because the grain boundary migration tended to move from the orientation close to normal direction to the orientation near to transverse direction or rolling ***,after grain growth,the volume fraction of texture component{0001}<1120>was increased by consuming the neighboring grains,leading to a stronger basal *** the contrary,in the Mg-1 wt%Y alloy,the Y element segregation caused the opposite direction of grain boundary migration,resulting in a random texture.

Accurate forecasting for photovoltaic power generation is one of the key enablers for the integration of solar photovoltaic systems into power *** deep-learning-based methods can perform well if there are sufficient training data and enough computational ***,there are challenges in building models through centralized shared data due to data privacy concerns and industry *** learning is a new distributed machine learning approach which enables training models across edge devices while data reside *** this paper,we propose an efficient semi-asynchronous federated learning framework for short-term solar power forecasting and evaluate the framework performance using a CNN-LSTM *** design a personalization technique and a semi-asynchronous aggregation strategy to improve the efficiency of the proposed federated forecasting *** evaluations using a real-world dataset demonstrate that the federated models can achieve significantly higher forecasting performance than fully local models while protecting data privacy,and the proposed semi-asynchronous aggregation and the personalization technique can make the forecasting framework more robust in real-world scenarios.

Analytic derivation of Monin-Obukhov similarity function for open atmospheric surface layer

The Monin-Obukhov(MO)similarity functionφm of the atmospheric surface layer(ASL)describing the deviation from the log law of the canonical turbulent boundary layer because of thermal stratification has been traditionally determined *** study presents a unified analytic expression derived from a symmetry-based theory of wall turbulence,called structural ensemble dynamics(SED),which postulates a generalized dilation symmetry principle expressing the effect of the wall on turbulence,leading to an analytic multi-regimes expression for the mixing *** ASL in unstable and stable conditions(i.e.,UC and SC),a unified two-regime formula of the mixing length is proposed,leading to aφm,similar to the Businger-Dyer(BD)formula;with a simplified model energy balance equation,φm is completely specified with no free ***,the theory allows the study of the open ASL’s underlying additional physical processes such as bottom-up or top-down flux due to pressure variations *** that Tp is decomposed into shear-like and buoyancy-like components,we propose new explanations for two important features of typical ASL:a significantly smaller Karman constant of 0.36 and a varyingφm for SC mean speed *** theory is validated by the data obtained at Kansas and also at Qingtu Lake Observation Array in Northern China for a variety of heat flux *** conclusion,due to pressure variations,we assert that ASL is intrinsically open and that the current theory offers a new basis for its quantification.

The utilization of mobile edge computing(MEC)for unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)communication presents a viable solution for achieving high reliability and low latency *** study explores the potential of employing intelligent reflective surfaces(IRS)andUAVs as relay nodes to efficiently offload user computing tasks to theMEC server system ***,the user node accesses the primary user spectrum,while adhering to the constraint of satisfying the primary user peak interference ***,the UAV acquires energy without interrupting the primary user’s regular communication by employing two energy harvesting schemes,namely time switching(TS)and power splitting(PS).The selection of the optimal UAV is based on the maximization of the instantaneous signal-to-noise ***,the analytical expression for the outage probability of the system in Rayleigh channels is derived and *** study investigates the impact of various system parameters,including the number of UAVs,peak interference power,TS,and PS factors,on the system’s outage performance through *** proposed system is also compared to two conventional benchmark schemes:the optimal UAV link transmission and the IRS link *** simulation results validate the theoretical derivation and demonstrate the superiority of the proposed scheme over the benchmark schemes.

The slow conversion of polyphase in lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries not only intensifies the shuttle effect of lithium polysulfides(LiPSs),but also causes the continuous accumulation of inactive sulfur species,resulting in rapid capacity attenuation and sluggish dynamic ***,the promoting effect of atomic interface stress on sulfur reaction was investigated via CoFe-CoFe_(2)O_(4)heterogeneous nanosheets with a cavity *** strain force induced by the in-situ precipitation of Co Fe bimetallic alloy in oxide matrix increased the d-band center,which was conducive to the interaction between catalyst and Li *** sulfur cathode based on this two-dimensional(2D)nanosheet design showed an extremely high capacity of 751 mAh g^(-1)at 4 *** with a sulfur loading of 5.55 mg cm^(-2),its area capacity was still as high as 7.15 mAh cm^(-2).Meanwhile,the enhanced stability greatly improved the practical potential of Li-S batteries.

Modern SSDs achieve low latency and high throughput by utilizing multiple levels of SSD parallelism. Fairness is also a critical design consideration in cloud environments and has inspired great interest in recent years to study it. However, we find that excessive striving for SSD parallelism can inadvertently harm the SSD fairness due to the striped data layout. We observe from our experimental analysis that some common access patterns in cloud loads (e.g., high-intensity I/O) are not addressed by SSD parallelism, which can affect both SSD parallelism and fairness. In this paper, we analyze two address mapping policies with orthogonal characteristics from SSD parallelism and fairness perspectives. Based on extensive experiments and observations, we schedule a hybrid address mapping policy to achieve fairness of SSDs in cloud environments by distinguishing different I/O access modes and cold/hot data, while ensuring SSD performance. Experimental results on the latest block-level I/O traces show that our approach significantly improves performance and fairness by up to 77.3% and 62.8%, respectively, over the previous schemes with negligible cost. Meanwhile, it can also reduce the write amplification by 23.5% to 33.5%. © 2024 IEEE.

In the paper,we propose a novel linearly implicit structure-preserving algorithm,which is derived by combing the invariant energy quadratization approach with the exponential time differencing method,to construct efficient and accurate time discretization scheme for a large class of Hamiltonian partial differential equations(PDEs).The proposed scheme is a linear system,and can be solved more efficient than the original energy-preserving ex-ponential integrator scheme which usually needs nonlinear *** experiments are performed to verify the conservation,efficiency and good performance at relatively large time step in long time computations.
