The event-related brain oscillatory responses have a substantial role in motor imagery experiments. There are two patterns, i.e. event-related desynchronization (ERD) and eventrelated synchronization (ERS). In clinical applications and scientific experiments, an obvious event-related potential (ERP) is pivotal to achieve required tasks. Therefore, we explore how subjects generate the obvious ERP more easily. Eight healthy subjects participated in the experiments and completed motor imagery on two different scales (index finger versus arm). The results indicate that the motor imagery of arm reaches the better performance compared with the motor imagery of index finger. Furthermore, we make a comparative analysis in averaged power spectrum in order to reveal inherent phenomenon. The analysis of power spectrum further confirms that arm motor imagery has an advantage over index finger motor imagery.

A control system for inserting machine is designed in this paper. It consists of a touch screen computer. a small Programmable Logic Controller (PLO,), sensors and servoing drivers to drive the four motion axes. The touch screen computer works as the master computer to realize Human Machine Interface (HMI,). and the PLC as the slave computer. Thr master computer receives the operator's commands, and sends working coordinates file to the slave controller through communication with RS-232C serial port. Thr slave controller outputs pulses to the drivers to control the motions of the four axes. A robust method with optical correction based on a fiber sensor is proposed to realize the high-precision alignment of inserting positions. It measures the accurate position of the ortgtn on the Printed Circutt Board in order to corrrct the positton errors tn coordinates file. The experimental results verify the validity of the proposed method.

A low cost control system with hierarchy architecture for sequencer is designed in this paper. A touch screen computer is used as master computer to realize Human Machine Interface (HMI). A programmable logic controller (PLC) works as slave computer to receive sequence ?le and instructions from the master computer. It controls the component arranging, component inspecting, and component taping processes. Manipulating microprocessors work as the slave computers of the PLC. They receive commands from the PLC and control the ampli?ers to drive the rotary electromagnets, which are used to cut off components. A sequence algorithm realized in the PLC is proposed to track the identi?cation (ID) numbers of pallets on the chain. The ID numbers of the pallets are recorded in the PLC at the beginning of sequence procedure, and shifted as long as the movement of the chain. All the ID numbers of the pallets are compared with the ID numbers of component feeders over them. A component is fed into the pallet if its feeder has the same ID number as the pallet. Experimental results verify the validity of the designed control system and the proposed sequence algorithm.

Personal high performance computer (PHPC) requires lower cost and high performance. The Teraflops PHPC systems with special accelerator units like GPGPU have been presented, but they have difficulties in programming, compatibility and applicability. In this paper, we present HPPPHPC, a hybrid architecture of heterogeneous processors connected by non-coherent off-chip system bus. The performance of HPP-PHPC is ensured by special processors integrated with vector units and high-efficiency interconnection between heterogeneous processors. And by the adoption of general processors and features like global physical address space and synchroniz ation semantics in hardware, HPP-PHPC is more compatible and convenient for massage passing and PGAS programming model. Also it is more applicable to most applications, including those with many execution branches. Initial results obtained from our prototype system have proved our design.
