Today, more and more Electronic Control Units have been installed in vehicle, and Controller Area Network is one of the most widely used networks to connect these ECUs, also the architecture of OSEK is increasingly employed into the design of individual ECU and the network. In this paper, we propose a new framework to design the ECU with limited-storage-space. In the framework, an infinite cycle acts as a mainframe, and the code conforming to OSEK NM is inserted into the cycle. A siren of vehicle is developed with this method, and a Hardware-In-Loop test is accomplished. The results show that the framework is available, and the real-time performance of the siren is satisfied. © 2007 IEEE.

Trend towards providing heterogeneous services concurrently by ISPs and low utilization of servers make it necessary to consolidate various services computing into a single platform. In such a shared environment, meeting application-level QoS goals and avoiding interaction among services become challenges as each application consumes different amount of resource and requires different QoS. Video-on-demand (VoD) has been identified as an important application among multimedia services. In this paper, we study a case of interaction among services concurrently running on a virtualized computing environment. The contributions of this paper are follows. 1) We design a novel capability service computing framework for service computing consolidation (CSCF) to study the interaction among concurrent services in a VM-Based Virtualized computing Environment;2) A dynamic and lazy memory flowing algorithm (DLMFaVM) among VMs is proposed to partially fulfill this computing model by resource flowing;3) We also develop a virtualized computing platform to study the possibility of service computing consolidation;4) We analyze the interaction among VoD service and other typical enterprise services in our capability service computing environment and draw a conclusion that the VoD streaming service co-existing with other services on a VM-based virtualized computing platform is a trend for ISPs. But it presents some challenges for the designers of service soft and the designers of service computing platform. Copyright 2007 ACM.

In this paper,volume models are obtained from closed surface models by an accurate voxelization method which can handle the hidden cavities. This kind of 3D binary images is then converted to gray-level images by a fast Euclidean distance transform (EDT).Moment invariants (MIs) which are invariant shape descriptors under similarity transformations,are then computed based on the gray images. Applications in shape analysis area such as principal axis determination,skeleton and medial axis extraction,and shape retrieval can be carried out base on EDT and MIs.

An effective interconnect network interface card (NIC) is critical to the achievement of a high-performance cluster system. An original NIC architecture based on the Intel IOP310 I/O processor chipset is presented in this paper. The NIC is a part of DCNet, which is the cluster interconnect network developed by NCIC. The I/O processor makes it powerful for the NIC to offload the processing of communication protocol from the host CPU. In the NIC architecture, the memory bus is extended to be a local bus for system peripheral interconnection, and a memory integrated network interface (MINI) is implemented and embedded. The testing results of DCNet show that the NIC obtains reasonable user-level communication performance, and prove that the NIC architecture, which based on I/O processor and the MINI approach, is feasible and effective to achieve the high performance.

2-D projective moment invariants were firstly proposed by Suk and Flusser in [12]. We point out here that there is a useless projective moment invariant which is equivalent to zero in their paper. 3-D projective moment invariants are generated theoretically by investigating the property of signed volume of a tetrahedron. The main part is the selection of permutation invariant cores for multiple integrals to generate independent and nonzero 3-D projective moment invariants. We give the conclusion that projective moment invariants don't exist strictly speaking because of their convergence problem.

This paper presents a novel automatic and dynamic camera calibration algorithm based on traffic visual surveillance. The algorithm can automatically calibrate the intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of camera, and offer enough guarantee to extract traffic real-time parameters. This paper firstly indicates the significance of applying automatic and dynamic calibration algorithm to intelligent transportation system, then establishes a mathematical model of calibration parameters between camera image and actual road. The algorithm is established from three view points, which are description, flow chart and algorithm description. Afterward this paper describes the experimental method and result based on this novel algorithm. Finally this paper indicates wide application foreground of this algorithm in intelligent transportation system.

The paper introduces basic types of nonconventional artificial neural units and focuses their notation and classification: namely; the notation and classification of dynamic higher-order nonlinear neural units, time-delay dynamic neural units, and time-delay higher-order nonlinear neural units is introduced. Brief introduction into the simplified parallel of higher-order nonlinear aggregating function of artificial nonconventional neural units and synaptic and somatic operation of biological neurons is made. Based on still simplified mathematical notation, it is proposed that nonlinear aggregating function of neural inputs should be understood as composition of synaptic as well as partial somatic neural operation also for static neural units. Thus it unravels novel, simplified, yet universal insight into understanding more computationally powerful neurons. The classification of nonconventional artificial neural units is founded first according to nonlinearity of aggregating function, second according to the dynamic order, third according to time-delay implementation within neural units.

In this paper, based on 3d wavelet moments we present a new method called fractal scale descriptors for 3d objects. Just like wavelet moments, they are still robust to translation, rotation and scale, and have the multi-resolution features in the radial direction, which can handle noise to some extent and provide multi-level features to satisfy various requirements. Furthermore the new method is prior to the original 3d wavelet moments in computational complexity by using the fast algorithm of the spherical harmonics together with the Mallat algorithm of the wavelets.

A platform of the Internet-based teleoperation system with an omni-directional mobile robot which has a five DOFs robot arm is constructed. Remote control of the robot through the Internet is implemented. The system is featured as low-cost and user interface friendly: remote users can control the robot through the Internet just by a client program in a general computer. The client computer can receive the live video and environment information measured by sensors. With the help of the remote video and the local simulation, users can easily communicate with the robot. Different modules are proposed and the implementation method of the system is presented. Related experiments are conducted to test the validity of the proposed system.
