A frequency and two-hop configuration checking-driven local search algorithm for the minimum weakly connected dominating set problem

The minimum weakly connected dominating set problem is a typical NP-hard problem with a wide range of applications. To solve this problem, we propose a frequency property and two-hop configuration checking strategy-driven local search algorithm (FCC2LS). In this algorithm, we first propose a lock-vertex-based initial solution construction procedure. This procedure guarantees that certain vertices, which must be included in the optimal solution, are added to the solution. Second, we propose a two-hop configuration checking strategy and a frequency property. The two-hop configuration checking strategy is a new variant of the original configuration checking strategy, which prohibits vertices with unchanged configuration from being added to the candidate solution. The frequency property is used to record the number of times for each vertex is added to the solution, which can increase the diversity of selected vertices. Third, we combine two scoring functions, Dscore and Nscore, with the above strategies and propose effective vertex selection methods to help the algorithm select suitable vertices to add into or remove from the candidate solutions. Finally, we evaluate the proposed algorithm FCC2LS with four state-of-the-art algorithms on four groups of benchmark instances. In the fields of social network analysis and knowledge graph, many semi-supervised learning algorithms based on graph convolutional neural network (GCN) have been widely used. Most of these algorithms usually improve the structure of the neural network and the sampling method of each layer of the neural network. However, they don’t pay much attention to the data pre-processing of the algorithm. In the analysis of the input data, the words of different quality in these original data are unevenly distributed. This may obscure some useful data and highlight some irrelevant data. In order to verify the correctness of this hypothesis, the paper proposes a feature matrix compression algorithm (FMC algorithm) for data pre-processing of GCN-based algorithms. The algorithm analyzes and arranges the word columns of the input matrix (the feature of graph) according to the frequency of the word, then merges those words in which the word frequency is smaller, so as to emphasize the role of these words in the graph and optimize the data scale. The present work uses four mainstream datasets in the field and several representative and different algorithms to complete the experiment. The experimental results show that the FMC algorithm achieves better performance. © 2021, The Institution of Engineers (India).

Graph neural networks have been demonstrated as a powerful paradigm for effectively learning graph-structured data on the web and mining content from it. Current leading graph models require a large number of labeled samples for training, which unavoidably leads to overfitting in few-shot scenarios. Recent research has sought to alleviate this issue by simultaneously leveraging graph learning and meta-learning paradigms. However, these graph meta-learning models assume the availability of numerous meta-training tasks to learn transferable meta-knowledge. Such assumption may not be feasible in the real world due to the difficulty of constructing tasks and the substantial costs involved. Therefore, we propose a SiMple yet effectIve approach for graph few-shot Learning with fEwer tasks, named SMILE. We introduce a dual-level mixup strategy, encompassing both within-task and across-task mixup, to simultaneously enrich the available nodes and tasks in meta-learning. Moreover, we explicitly leverage the prior information provided by the node degrees in the graph to encode expressive node representations. Theoretically, we demonstrate that SMILE can enhance the model generalization ability. Empirically, SMILE consistently outperforms other competitive models by a large margin across all evaluated datasets with in-domain and cross-domain settings. With the complexity of the functions of modern buildings, the problem of vertical traffic in buildings is becoming more and more prominent. As the only vertical transportation, the elevator is a necessary prerequisite for the development of modern buildings to solve its group control distribution problem. In this paper, a vertical traffic scheduling control method is proposed based on dual fuzzy neural network, a recognition strategy is designed to identify the passenger flow models. The dual fuzzy neural network is used to first identify the traffic network model in which the elevator is located, and then combine the corresponding weights and the confidence of the group control allocation to complete the group control scheduling. Finally, the proposed method is verified through a semi-physical simulation platform, proving the correctness and effectivness for traffic pattern recognition and scheduling strategy optimization of group controllers. © 2023 IEEE.

TS-Net: Two-stage deformable medical image registration network based on new smooth constraints

Medical image registration can establish the spatial consistency of the corresponding anatomical structures between different medical images, which is important in medical image analysis. In recent years, with the rapid development of deep learning, the image registration methods based on deep learning greatly improve the speed, accuracy, and robustness of registration. Regrettably, these methods typically do not work well for large deformations and complex deformations in the image, and neglect to preserve the topological properties of the image during deformation. Aiming at these problems, we propose a new network TS-Net that learns deformation from coarse to fine and transmits information of different scales in the two stages. Two-stage network learning deformation from coarse to fine can gradually learn the large and complex deformations in images. In the second stage, the feature maps downsampled in the first stage for skip connection can expand the local receptive field and obtain more local information. The smooth constraints function used in the past is to impose the same restriction on the global, which is not targeted. In this paper, we propose a new smooth constraints function for each voxel deformation, which can better ensure the smoothness of the transformation and maintain the topological properties of the image. The experiments on brain datasets with complex deformations and heart datasets with large deformations show that our proposed method achieves better results while maintaining the topological properties of deformations compared to existing deep learning-based registration methods. © 2023 Elsevier Inc.

Text clustering is a critical step in text data analysis and has been extensively studied by the text mining community. Most existing text clustering algorithms are based on the bag-of-words model, which faces the high-dimensional and sparsity problems and ignores text structural and sequence information. Deep learning-based models such as convolutional neural networks and recurrent neural networks regard texts as sequences but lack supervised signals and explainable results. In this paper, we propose a deep feature-based text clustering (DFTC) framework that incorporates pretrained text encoders into text clustering tasks. This model, which is based on sequence representations, breaks the dependency on supervision. The experimental results show that our model outperforms classic text clustering algorithms on almost all the considered datasets. In addition, the explanation of the clustering results is significant for understanding the principles of the deep learning approach. Our proposed clustering framework includes an explanation module that can help users understand the meaning and quality of the clustering results. Mobile Crowdsensing (MCS) faces significant challenges in selecting tasks with expected high revenue and recruiting workers with expected high qualities to maximize overall utility. Existing approaches often assume the revenue of posting tasks or the quality of workers is determined, which limits their practical applicability. This paper tackles these challenges by modeling the long-term multi-task, multi-worker selection problem as a Two-Stage Multi-Armed Bandit (TS-MAB) problem under uncertainty. In each round, the MCS platform selects a long-term task from a pool and recruits the necessary workers, determining payments accordingly. We model the task selection phase as a MAB problem, and the worker recruitment phase, influenced by the task selection, as a Combinatorial MAB (CMAB) problem. We propose an extended Upper Confidence Bound (UCB)-based strategy and develop an incentive mechanism based on Auction theory, combined with TS-MAB (i.e., ATS-MAB), for unknown task selection and worker recruitment. Our mechanism theoretically guarantees truthfulness and individual rationality, with a theoretical analysis of its regret bounds. Furthermore, we introduce an adaptive incentive mechanism called AATS-MAB, which improves worker recruitment and quality updates, achieving higher total sensing quality and lower regret. Extensive simulations demonstrate the effectiveness and scalability of the proposed methods. © 2014 IEEE.

Federated learning (FL) enables collaborative model training across multiple medical institutions to ensure data security. However, due to the variations in medical imaging equipment and regions at different medical institutions, FL methods usually suffer from insufficient data annotations and irrelevant noise within private datasets. To address these issues, a robust federated semi-supervised learning method via pseudo-label filtering (PFRFed) is introduced to utilize unlabeled data while mitigating the impact of noise data. Compared with existing federated semi-supervised learning methods, we propose a pseudo-label filtering mechanism with double dynamic thresholds, which allows the model to adopt more unlabeled data by adjusting the confidence and entropy thresholds at each stage of model training. Moreover, to reduce the degradation caused by noise data in private datasets from different clients, a noise-tolerant loss function and a grouping aggregation method based on the local model similarity are employed. The comparative experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of PFRFed, which has achieved the best classification accuracy of 95.20% and 88.72% on two public medical datasets. Also, PFRFed exhibits heightened resilience to variations in noisy data ratio and labeled data ratio, reaffirming its versatility and robustness. © 2024 IEEE.

As control modules in cars become intelligent and automated, electrical systems become more complex. Dozens or even hundreds of electronic control units (ECUs) are used in many cars. In this case, the information security problem of the car is also latent in the dark. When the actual application load ratio of the CAN bus exceeds more than 30%, the delay of data communication and the probability of error frames multiply, causing serious communication congestion. A malicious intruder only needs to affect the bus data traffic to cause the collapse of the CAN bus network, which in turn changes the behavior of the car and has irreversible consequences. In order to enable the CAN bus to maintain its advantages, it can adapt to the new needs of contemporary in-vehicle networks with higher performance and more reliable security protection. In the paper, we propose a flow monitoring alarm module built into the in-vehicle CAN. This module embeds a statistical algorithm based on information theory. The algorithm has a small amount of computation and clear logic, which meets the lightweight requirements of embedded algorithms. Through multiple experiments, the module can monitor all Dos for in-vehicle CAN, as well as other traffic abnormalities with a monitoring alarm rate of more than 98%. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, people have put forward higher requirements for robot path planning. As a more commonly used algorithm, reinforcement learning learns from experience by imitating the process of human learning skills and continuously iterates to do. In this paper, an improved Step Batch Q-Learning algorithm is proposed to solve the problem that the traditional Q-Learning algorithm has a slow convergence speed in discrete states. Prediction can detect obstacles and target points earlier, reduce the number of iterations, and significantly speed up the convergence time. Under the same experimental conditions, the method in this paper is compared with the traditional Q-Learning algorithm. The experimental results show that the improved Step Batch Q-Learning algorithm has significantly improved convergence speed and good adaptability. © 2022 IEEE.
