Capturing rich multi-scale features is essential to address complex variations in medical image segmentation. Multiple hybrid networks have been developed to integrate the complementary benefits of convolutional neural networks (CNN) and Transformers. However, existing methods may suffer from either huge computational cost required by the complicated networks or unsatisfied performance of lighter networks. How to give full play to the advantages of both convolution and self-attention and design networks that are both effective and efficient still remains an unsolved problem. In this work, we propose a robust lightweight multi-stage hybrid architecture, named Multi-stage Aggregation Transformer version 2 (MA-TransformerV2), to extract multi-scale features with progressive aggregations for accurate segmentation of highly variable medical images at a low computational cost. Specifically, lightweight Trans blocks and lightweight CNN blocks are parallelly introduced into the dual-branch encoder module in each stage, and then a vector quantization block is incorporated at the bottleneck to discretizes the features and discard the redundance. This design not only enhances the representation capabilities and computational efficiency of the model, but also makes the model interpretable. Extensive experimental results on public datasets show that our method outperforms state-of-the-art methods, including CNN-based, Transformer-based, advanced hybrid CNN-Transformer-based models, and several lightweight models, in terms of both segmentation accuracy and model capacity. Efficient and fine-grained access control with fully-hidden policies for cloud-enabled IoT

Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption(CP-ABE) enables fine-grained access control on ciphertexts, making it a promising approach for managing data stored in the cloud-enabled Internet of Things. But existing schemes often suffer from privacy breaches due to explicit attachment of access policies or partial hiding of critical attribute content. Additionally, resource-constrained IoT devices, especially those adopting wireless communication, frequently encounter affordability issues regarding decryption costs. In this paper, we propose an efficient and fine-grained access control scheme with fully hidden policies(named FHAC). FHAC conceals all attributes in the policy and utilizes bloom filters to efficiently locate them. A test phase before decryption is applied to assist authorized users in finding matches between their attributes and the access policy. Dictionary attacks are thwarted by providing unauthorized users with invalid values. The heavy computational overhead of both the test phase and most of the decryption phase is outsourced to two cloud servers. Additionally, users can verify the correctness of multiple outsourced decryption results simultaneously. Security analysis and performance comparisons demonstrate FHAC's effectiveness in protecting policy privacy and achieving efficient decryption.

FCaS: Fine-grained Cardiac Image Synthesis based on 3D Template Conditional Diffusion Model

Solving medical imaging data scarcity through semantic image generation has attracted significant attention in recent years. However, existing methods primarily focus on generating whole-organ or large-tissue structures, showing limited effectiveness for organs with fine-grained structure. Due to stringent topological consistency, fragile coronary features, and complex 3D morphological heterogeneity in cardiac imaging, accurately reconstructing fine-grained anatomical details of the heart remains a great challenge. To address this problem, in this paper, we propose the Fine-grained Cardiac image Synthesis(FCaS) framework, established on 3D template conditional diffusion model. FCaS achieves precise cardiac structure generation using Template-guided Conditional Diffusion Model (TCDM) through bidirectional mechanisms, which provides the fine-grained topological structure information of target image through the guidance of template. Meanwhile, we design a deformable Mask Generation Module (MGM) to mitigate the scarcity of high-quality and diverse reference mask in the generation process. Furthermore, to alleviate the confusion caused by imprecise synthetic images, we propose a Confidence-aware Adaptive Learning (CAL) strategy to facilitate the pre-training of downstream segmentation tasks. Specifically, we introduce the Skip-Sampling Variance (SSV) estimation to obtain confidence maps, which are subsequently employed to rectify the pre-training on downstream tasks. Experimental results demonstrate that images generated from FCaS achieves state-of-the-art performance in topological consistency and visual quality, which significantly facilitates the downstream tasks as well. Channel State information (CSI) serves as a critical indicator of wireless signal conditions and is widely regarded by researchers for its sensitivity in detecting changes within the channel. However, traditional sensing technologies often require substantial data and intricate learning algorithms, highlighting an urgent need for advancements in lightweight sensing technologies. These technologies should leverage simpler terminal devices, reduced data volumes, and more straightforward classification algorithms to achieve sensing capability that are comparable to those offered by more complex and established methods. This paper concentrates on the lightweight application of wireless sensing and encompasses the following key contributions: 1) The development of a lightweight sensing model utilizing a single-antenna multicarrier system, which introduces a CSI ratio model that adapts multi-antenna techniques for single-antenna settings;2) The enhancement of feature stability through the introduction of a complex-plane fitting method using artificial vector, alongside a dual receiver based method for cross-scene feature generation aimed at producing stable and high-quality auxiliary features. Experimental results show that the feature extraction capability of the single-antenna multicarrier CSI ratio model is close to that of traditional multi-antenna scheme. On the gait dataset, when the enhanced CSI ratio is used as a feature, the accuracy is nearly 100%, surpassing the 93% accuracy of the original amplitude feature. On the gesture dataset, the combination of the enhanced CSI ratio and PEI features achieves an accuracy of 96%, which is superior to using the original CSI amplitude feature alone. An analysis of resource consumption shows that the lightweight SVM model incurs very low computational overhead during decision-making, validating the potential of this scheme in terms of efficiency and practical application. © 2014 IEEE.

Semantic segmentation of remote sensing images (RSIs) is essential for applications such as environmental monitoring, urban planning, and disaster management. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and their variants struggle to capture comprehensive spectral context for learning discriminative representations. In this paper, we propose a Spectrum-Enhanced Network (SPENet) that leverages the Frequency Transformer Block (FTB) to capture rich spectral context. FTB integrates Spectrum-Enhanced Attention (SEA) with Multi-Head Frequency Self-Attention (MH-FSA), incorporating more informative contextual cues. Specifically, SEA aggregates spectral statistics through covariance matrix normalization before applying channel-wise attention. By projecting feature maps onto the frequency domain, MH-FSA provides the network with a broader context, extending beyond the low-frequency focus of standard self-attention mechanisms. Extensive experiments on the ISPRS Potsdam and LoveDA datasets show that SPENet significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods. Besides, the proposed SEA module notably rises average F1-score/overall accuracy/mean insert over union wiht more than 2.5/2.6%/2.3%, as demonstrated by ablation study.

Four-Dimensional Cone Beam Computed Tomography (4D-CBCT) imaging technology offers enhanced image quality and spatial resolution for intraoperative guidance, facilitating real-time tracking of tumor position changes during radiotherapy. However, this is still a task of great challenges due to insufficient projections at each respiratory phase after phase-sorting, and the image phases reconstructed directly from phase-sorted data are discrete and discontinuous. To generate high-quality 4D-CBCT deformation vector fields (DVFs), this paper leverages the preoperative static prior image to guide intraoperative dynamic sparse-view reconstruction images for reducing anatomical structure differences, ultimately achieving continuous and dynamic 4D-CBCT imaging. In this paper, we propose a Multi-scale Cascaded residual deformable vector field estimation framework based on Cross-attention in Motioncompensated 4D-CBCT reconstruction (MCCM), which combines Multi-Scale Cascaded residual registration network (MSCNet), Cross-Attention Enhanced feature Fusion (CAEF) module and Structure-Enhanced Motion-Compensated (SEMC) module: 1) the MCCM employs a multi-scale cascaded residual network strategy, merging multi-receptive fields and multi-resolution feature maps for large-scale internal changes. 2) the CAEF is embedded into MSC-Net to facilitate effective communication and learning between features and promote the flow of information. 3) the SEMC is developed to reduce artifacts after intraoperative CBCT sparse-view reconstruction, restore global lung motion changes and local details, and enhance structural information through image fusion. The proposed method has been evaluated using simulated and clinical datasets and has shown promising results by comparative experiment. Our approach exhibits significant improvements across various evaluation metrics. © 2024 IEEE.

Currently, many studies use Fourier amplitude spectra of speech signals to predict depression levels. However, those works often treat Fourier amplitude spectra as images or sequences to capture depression cues using convolutional neural networks or multilayer perceptrons. Therefore, they ignore the complex element composition and time-frequency attributes of Fourier spectra, which is not conducive to capturing the differences among individuals with different depression levels. For this reason, we construct a Time-Frequency Self-Embedding (TFSE) module, which not only stores the correlation relationship among real (imaginary) parts of Fourier spectra of different subjects from the time-frequency perspective, but also maintain the physical properties of data through the weight embedding process. Besides, Global Average Pooling (GAP) or linear layers are difficult to balance both temporal and frequency dimensions in the vectorization process. Therefore, we construct a Time-Frequency Tensor Vectorization (TFTV) module, which summarizes each channel along time and frequency dimensions, and then generates the vectorization result by integrating various channels. In this way, we combine TFSE and TFTV modules to form our SpectrumFormer model for predicting depression levels. Evaluation indicators on AVEC 2013 and AVEC 2014 depression databases imply the progressiveness of our model. © 2010-2012 IEEE.

Blockchain-aided Mobile Edge Intelligence With Sparse Rewarded Computing Resource Allocation

In the blockchain-aided mobile edge intelligence (B-MEI) network, base stations (BSs) each with an edge server not only execute tasks offloaded from users but also serve as blockchain nodes to ensure trustworthy data management of task execution in a decentralized manner. A challenging issue of B-MEI is that, both task execution and blockchain consensus demand significant computing resources. Insufficient resource allocation inevitably leads to resource wastage and even degrades system performance, especially in scenarios where task arrivals and wireless channels are dynamically changing. Driven by this issue, we first formulate the dynamic allocation of computing resources as a Markov Decision Process (MDP) to maximize the average transaction throughput of the B-MEI system. In particular, we find that, due to the time-consuming nature of blockchain consensus, the MDP rewards stemmed from the block generation is typically delayed and sparse. To address this issue, we propose a novel reinforcement learning algorithm, named Stable Hindsight Credit Assignment (SHCA), to effectively learn the stable credit assignment for sparse rewards across intermediate actions to optimize policy decisions. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm improves the average transaction throughput by 78% compared with the baseline algorithm. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Geological reports, as crucial technical documents reflecting the outcomes of geological survey work, encapsulate extensive expert and domain knowledge. Geological knowledge graphs integrate vast amounts of data, facilitating efficient and rapid extraction of knowledge embedded within geoscientific data. The extraction of geological entity relations is a key method in creating these knowledge graphs. Existing techniques for extracting geological entities and their relations encounter difficulties such entity overlap, relation overlap, and the challenge of obtaining deep semantic information because of the vastness and complexity of geological data. Our study suggests a collaborative extraction model for entity relations that integrates dependency syntactic relations with a graph convolutional network (GCN) in order to address these problems. This model learns dependency syntactic structures and deep semantic information by building a GCN that includes dependency syntactic relations. A pointer network decoder is then added to increase entity relation extraction efficiency. Dependencies between words in a phrase, such as subject-verb and verb-object relations, are revealed via dependency syntactic analysis. By structuring these dependencies into a graph, the model captures syntactic structural information. Through operations involving adjacency matrices and feature matrices, the model effectively propagates and aggregates node information, thereby capturing the global dependency syntactic structure and deep semantic information of sentences. The integration of dependency syntactic relations with GCN processing enables the model to more accurately comprehend entity relations within sentences. Results from experiments show that this model successfully tackles problems like overlapping entity relations and the challenge of gleaning deep semantic information from geological texts. It achieves a 79.73% accuracy rate and a 77.98% F1 score on geological text datasets. © 2025

Edge-based federated learning (EFL) is a solution for personalized applications. It addresses the limitations of cloud-based consumer service systems, such as data privacy and network latency. To further enhance the EFL system’s ability to protect data privacy, differential privacy (DP) is introduced. It is crucial to motivate high-quality collaboration among participants for optimal performance of the DP-EFL system. Researchers primarily focus on efficient learning algorithms, optimized resource scheduling, and user-oriented incentive mechanisms. Existing research exhibits notable limitations in modeling and analyzing the heterogeneity of resource costs (e.g., communication costs), particularly failing to comprehensively account for the additional costs imposed by participants’ privacy protection mechanisms‌. To address this gap, we propose a novel market transaction model based on Stackelberg game theory. This framework integrates incentive-driven reward allocation mechanisms to rigorously investigate the collaborative behaviors and strategic interactions between edge nodes (ENs) and the cloud server (CS)‌. We incorporate privacy costs into the multidimensional costs of participants with privacy metric, and based on this, derived collaboration strategies between ENs and CS, thus solving the Stackelberg game problem by theoretical analysis. Furthermore, numerical experiments validated the rationality of our proposed model, the impact of strategies on the performance of collaborators, and the advantages over other incentive mechanisms. © 2025 IEEE.
