Over the past few years, "Pre-training + Fine-tuning"has been highly successful in Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks, but it has limitations in few-shot tasks and zero-shot tasks. Recently, "Prompt-based Tuning + Pretrained Language models (PLMs)"has achieved great success in few-shot stage and zero-shot stage, including few-shot text classification. Prompt-based tuning wraps suggestive characters and [MASK] tokens into a raw input sequence. Additionally, Prompt learning uses a verbalizer to map the semantic information of the [MASK] position to the final classification prediction. The verbalizer contains manual verbalizer and automatic verbalizer, etc. However, manual verbalizers are too dependent on human experience and external knowledge, while automatic verbalizers still face significant challenges. In this work, we introduce a novel approach for constructing a verbalizer termed as 'virtual class representation'. This method entails assigning a fixed-length sequence of digits to represent each label in the dataset. We train a small-scale randomly initialized embedding mechanism to achieve preliminary semantic information for each class when virtual class representation is introduced into the embedding mechanism. The semantic information of each category is then further extracted by a convolution operation, and the final model regression value is obtained by calculating the similarity between the last hidden state of PLM and the semantic vector of the class. Our extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method on few-shot text classification tasks. © 2023 IEEE.

As the Industrial Control System (ICS) increasingly merges with the Internet, the security threats have been increasing from internal users and external hackers. These challenges are further intensified by the facts: industrial control devices and protocols, leading to the inadequacy of traditional access control models in tackling the intricacies of ICS. We identify attributes that are optimally aligned with the specific needs of the ICS environment and propose the Multidimensional Industrial Control Attribute-Based Access Control Model (MICABAC) as a customized solution. MICABAC model significantly improves access control security and is finer granularity by selecting and evaluating required attributes within various ICS. We have been validated in two real-world ICS environments: the Gas Pipe network System (GPNS) and the computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine tool. Experiments indicate that by integrating MICABAC into the existing system, the maximum delay for access requests is 63.83 ms. In terms of accuracy in defending against malicious attacks, the GPNS achieves 96.49% and the CNC reaches 94.86%. Finally, we discuss the advantages and limitations of MICABAC and explore potential directions for future research. © 2024 IEEE.

Dynamic Heterogeneous Federated Learning with Multi-Level Prototypes

Federated learning shows promise as a privacy-preserving collaborative learning technique. Existing research mainly focuses on skewing the label distribution across clients. However, most approaches suffer from catastrophic forgetting and classifier shift, mainly when the global distribution of all classes is extremely unbalanced and the data distribution of the client dynamically evolves over time. In this paper, we study the Dynamic Heterogeneous Federated Learning, which addresses the practical scenario where heterogeneous data distributions exist among different clients and dynamic tasks within the client. Accordingly, we propose a novel federated learning framework named Federated Multi-Level Prototypes and design federated multi-level regularizations. To mitigate classifier shift, we construct semantic prototypes to provide fruitful generalization knowledge. To maintain the model stability and consistency convergence, three regularizations are introduced as training losses, i.e., prototype-based regularization, semantic prototype-based regularization, and federated inter-task regularization. Extensive experiments show that the proposed method achieves advanced performance in various settings. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

To capture 3D geometric details, point cloud understanding primarily employs convolution, dynamic map, or transformer methods to build complex local geometry extractors. When dealing with sparse and noisy point clouds in real-world environments, the structural design of these methods tends to be complex and perform poorly. In this paper, we propose a lightweight point cloud understanding framework based on Laplacian feature convolution, which has high accuracy on normal-sized point cloud datasets and performs well when dealing with sparse and noisy point cloud inputs. The adaptive Laplacian convolution module combined with the vector attention mechanism can effectively capture the local details of point cloud geometry. The framework employs a multi-scale feature fusion mechanism between modules to reduce the number of sampling points step by step, reducing redundant computations and achieving a lightweight effect. In addition, we propose a parameter-free module for interpolation to enhance the training part. Experimental results on object-level datasets show that the lightweight method proposed in our paper has similar accuracy to the current best method in terms of accuracy (Acc) and mean intersection over union (mIoU), and has better robustness in handling sparse and noisy point clouds. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Spatial-Temporal Semantic Feature Interaction network for Semantic Change Detection in Remote Sensing Images

Semantic Change Detection (SCD) in Remote Sensing Images (RSI) aims to identify changes in the type of Land Cover/Land Use (LCLU). The "from-to" information of the acquired image has more profound practical significance than Binary Change Detection (BCD). However, most deep learning-based SCD algorithms do not fully exploit the spatial-temporal information of multilevel features, leading to challenges in extracting LCLU features in complex scenes. To address these issues, we propose a Spatial-Temporal Semantic Feature Interaction network (STS-FINet) to improve the performance of SCD in RSI. The proposed STS-FINet comprises a Multi-Scale Feature Extraction Encoder (MS-FEE), a Transformer-based Multilevel Feature Interaction module (TML-FI), and a Multilevel Feature Fusion Decoder (ML-FFD). The MS-FEE extracts deep semantic and differential information from the RSI. The TML-FI is designed to mine the spatial-temporal information by extracting long-range dependencies and spatial information from multilevel features to improve spatial perception. Moreover, Mixed Spatial Reasoning Convolution block (MixSrc) is presented to enrich the spatial information by extracting the multiscale features, thus improving the model's capability to interpret complex scenes. Finally, ML-FFD integrates the multilevel features, resulting in the generation of the semantic change map. The effectiveness of the proposed STS-FINet is verified on two high-resolution RSI datasets. Experimental results show that the proposed STS-FINet achieves better change detection performance than SOTA methods. © 2008-2012 IEEE.

The Amodal Instance Segmentation (AIS) task aims to infer the visible and occluded regions of an object instance. Existing AIS methods typically focus on directly predicting visible and occluded regions or leveraging prior knowledge to guide predictions. However, these methods often ignore the perception of occluded views, leading to inaccurate results. To address this issue and achieve high-quality AIS, we propose a boundary-aware Occlusion Perception network (OPNet). OPNet consists of three main components: the Dynamic Feature Augmentation Pyramid (DFAP), the Dual-path Boundary Aware Module (DBAM), and the Shape-guide Refinement Module (SRM). Specifically, DBAM employs an occlusion-perception strategy to learn discriminative features with boundary information, enabling it to distinguish occlusion from multiple views. Additionally, DFAP and SRM optimize the results by enhancing feature aggregation and imposing geometric constraints. Experiments on the D2SA, KINS, and CWALT datasets show that OPNet significantly outperforms state-of-the-art AIS methods that without prior knowledge. Long-tail learning primarily focuses on mitigating the label distribution shift between longtailed training data and uniformly distributed test data. However, in real-world applications, we often encounter a more intricate challenge where the test label distribution is agnostic. To address this problem, we first theoretically establish the substantial potential for reducing the generalization error if we can precisely estimate the test label distribution. Motivated by the theoretical insight, we introduce a simple yet effective solution called label shift correction (LSC). LSC estimates the test label distribution within the proposed framework of generalized black box shift estimation, and adjusts the predictions from a pre-trained model to align with the test distribution. Theoretical analyses confirm that accurate estimation of test label distribution can effectively reduce the generalization error. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our method significantly outperforms previous state-of-the-art approaches, especially when confronted with non-uniform test label distribution. Notably, the proposed method is general and complements existing longtail learning approaches, consistently improving their performance. To improve the task scheduling efficiency in computing power networks, this paper proposes a global task scheduling method based on network measurement and prediction in computing power networks (GTS-MP), which selects a more suitable computing power cluster and storage platform with a higher network availability score between them to implement tasks. The experiments are conducted on a test bench of urban area networks in 12 cities. The results show that this method greatly reduces the execution time of artificial intelligence model training tasks, with a maximum reduction of 40% compared to other plans. © 2023 IEEE.
