In the era of artificial intelligence generated content (AIGC), conditional multimodal synthesis technologies (e.g., text-to-image) are dynamically reshaping the natural content. Brain signals, serving as potential reflections of how the brain interprets external information, exhibit a distinctive one-to-many correspondence with various external modalities. This correspondence makes brain signals emerge as a promising guiding condition for multimodal synthesis (e.g., image, text, and audio), which is crucial for developing practical brain–computer interface systems and unraveling complex mechanisms underlying human perception. This survey comprehensively examines the emerging field of brain-conditional multimodal synthesis, termed AIGC-brain, to delineate the current landscape and future directions. To begin, related neuroimaging datasets and generative models are introduced as the foundation of AIGC-brain decoding and analysis. Next, we present a comprehensive taxonomy according to AIGC-brain methodologies, followed by task-specific representative work and implementation details to facilitate in-depth comparison and analysis. Quality assessments are then introduced for both qualitative and quantitative evaluation. Finally, this survey explores insights gained, outlining current challenges and prospects of AIGC-brain. As a pioneering survey, this article paves the way for future advances in AIGC-brain research. © 2020 IEEE.

A Novel Deep Hybrid Recommender System Based on Auto-encoder with Neural Collaborative Filtering

Due to the widespread availability of implicit feedback(e.g., clicks and purchases), some researchers have endeavored to design recommender systems based on implicit feedback. However, unlike explicit feedback,implicit feedback cannot directly reflect user preferences. Therefore, although more challenging, it is also more practical to use implicit feedback for recommender systems. Traditional collaborative filtering methods such as matrix factorization, which regards user preferences as a linear combination of user and item latent vectors, have limited learning capacities and suffer from data sparsity and the cold-start problem. To tackle these problems,some authors have considered the integration of a deep neural network to learn user and item features with traditional collaborative filtering. However, there is as yet no research combining collaborative filtering and contentbased recommendation with deep learning. In this paper, we propose a novel deep hybrid recommender system framework based on auto-encoders(DHA-RS) by integrating user and item side information to construct a hybrid recommender system and enhance performance. DHA-RS combines stacked denoising auto-encoders with neural collaborative filtering, which corresponds to the process of learning user and item features from auxiliary information to predict user preferences. Experiments performed on the real-world dataset reveal that DHA-RS performs better than state-of-the-art methods.

Safe and Reliable Diffusion Models via Subspace Projection

Large-scale text-to-image (T2I) diffusion models have revolutionized image generation, enabling the synthesis of highly detailed visuals from textual descriptions. However, these models may inadvertently generate inappropriate content, such as copyrighted works or offensive images. While existing methods attempt to eliminate specific unwanted concepts, they often fail to ensure complete removal—allowing the concept to reappear in subtle forms. For instance, a model may successfully avoid generating images in Van Gogh’s style when explicitly prompted with "Van Gogh", yet still reproduce his signature artwork when given the prompt "Starry Night". In this paper, we propose SAFER, a novel and efficient approach for thoroughly removing target concepts from diffusion models. At a high level, SAFER is inspired by the observed low-dimensional structure of the text embedding space. The method first identifies a concept-specific subspace Sc associated with the target concept c. It then projects the prompt embeddings onto the complementary subspace of Sc, effectively erasing the concept from the generated images. Since concepts can be abstract and difficult to fully capture using natural language alone, we employ textual inversion to learn an optimized embedding of the target concept from a reference image. This enables more precise subspace estimation and enhances removal performance. Furthermore, we introduce a subspace expansion strategy to ensure comprehensive and robust concept erasure. Extensive experiments demonstrate that SAFER consistently and effectively erases unwanted concepts from diffusion models while preserving generation quality. © 2025, CC BY.

Double-RIS Enabled Physical Layer Security for Wireless-Powered Communication Systems Over Rayleigh Fading Channels

This paper investigates the physical layer security for a double-reconfigurable intelligent surface (DRIS) aided wireless-powered communication (WPC) system in the presence of an eavesdropper, where one RIS (termed as RIS-1) is deployed between power station (PS) and information user (U) while the other RIS (termed as RIS-2) is deployed between U and access point (AP). Moreover, an idle user acts as a cooperative jamming user (J) to emit the artificial noise to improve the transmission security of U. According to different types in energy harvesting (EH) and information transmission (IT)/noise transmission (NT) of U/J, we propose four DRIS enabled wireless-powered cooperative jamming transmission schemes based on jointly enhancing EH and IT of U (namely DRIS-1), jointly enhancing EH of U and NT of J (namely DRIS-2), jointly enhancing EH of J and IT of U (namely DRIS-3), and jointly enhancing EH and NT of J (namely DRIS-4), respectively. We analyze connection outage probability (COP), secrecy outage probability (SOP), and effective secrecy throughput (EST) of the proposed four schemes, respectively. The results show that DRIS-1 scheme has the highest diversity gain among the four schemes. Besides, the gain of the number of reflecting elements at RIS-1 has the same order as that at RIS-2 in DRIS-1 scheme and DRIS-4 scheme. In DRIS-2 scheme, the gains of the number of reflecting elements at RIS-1 and RIS-2 are two powers and one power, respectively, while the opposite is true in DRIS-3 scheme. In addition, DRIS-1 scheme achieves the best COP, while DRIS-4 scheme achieves the best SOP. DRIS-1 scheme, DRIS-3 scheme, and DRIS-4 scheme respectively achieve the best EST in the low, middle, and high region of transmission power or number of RIS elements. © 1972-2012 IEEE.

The goal of fusing hyperspectral images (HSI) and multispectral images (MSI) is to generate high-resolution hyperspectral images for downstream tasks. However, most existing methods overlook the specific requirements of these tasks, leading to a gap between the fusion process and its subsequent applications due to insufficient guidance from downstream tasks. To address this issue, we propose a classification-guided multitask interactive network (CGNet) that integrates both fusion and classification tasks into a unified framework, with two branches producing the fused image and classification results, respectively. In the fusion branch, we design a multi-level residual refinement module to efficiently integrate spatial and spectral information. Additionally, an attention-based multi-scale fusion module, incorporating both spatial and channel attention, is carefully crafted to enhance representation learning. In the classification branch, both 2-D and 3-D convolutions are employed to improve classification performance. Moreover, an information interaction module is proposed to guide the fusion task based on classification outcomes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches on the Pavia Centre and Pavia University datasets.

Multimodal image fusion aims to merge features from different modalities to create a comprehensively representative image. However, existing medical image fusion methods often struggle to handle noise generated during image acquisition, significantly diminishing their impact on visual quality. To address these challenges, we propose a semantically text-guided medical image fusion model, named TDMF. Specifically, TDMF guides classical image fusion through textual semantics and effectively coordinates the resolution of degradation and interaction issues during the fusion process. By integrating text encoders and interactive fusion modules, TDMF establishes a unified framework for denoising and interactive fusion of medical images. Extensive experiments have demonstrated that our proposed text-guided image fusion strategy offers significant advantages over state-of-the-art methods in medical image fusion performance.

Medication recommendation aims to suggest personalized drug combinations to patients based on their longitudinal medical histories stored in electronic health record (EHR) datasets. Patients' Dynamic Treatment Regimes (DTRs) determine how patients' drug combinations change along with the evolution of disease treatment. DTRs are effective for comprehending disease-treatment dynamics and for recommending a timely and personalized combination of medications for patients. However, existing medication recommender systems (MRSs) overlook the multiple treatment pathways generated by the intervention of DTRs and can only recommend a single treatment paradigm, ignoring the fact that patients may be at different treatment stages and thus require different treatment regime. Such disregard leads to a significant limitation in recommending personalized medication combinations tailored to different treatment stages, yielding greatly compromised accuracy and applicability of MRSs. Moreover, existing methods often overlook the time interval information over patients' successive visits, which is critical to indicate patients' treatment evolution. To address these significant gaps, we propose a Time-aware Medication Recommendation Framework via Intervention of Dynamic Treatment Regimes, called MR-DTR. To explicitly illustrate the intervention processes of DTRs on similar patients, we employ a co-guided graph to connect various patient sequences. In addition, to fully utilize the time interval information, we design a time-aware guidance mechanism dedicated to the co-guided graph to efficiently learn medication representation using the patient's guidance information. We also introduce relative time intervals in the encoder to act as positional information. Extensive experiments on two real-world datasets demonstrate that MR-DTR surpasses state-of-the-art models in terms of recommendation performance. Smart Grids (SG) rely on Home Area networks (HAN) and Neighborhood Area networks (NAN) to ensure efficient power distribution, real-time monitoring, and seamless communication between smart devices. Despite these advantages, the use of public communication channels in HAN and NAN networks introduces critical challenges, such as vulnerability to impersonation, physical tampering, and scalability issues in resource-constrained environments. These issues compromise the stability, reliability, and security of SG environments. Existing protocols often fail to adequately address these challenges, particularly in ensuring resistance to physical tampering of supply lines and impersonation attacks. Additionally, they struggle to minimize the computation, communication, and energy costs associated with securing a resource-constrained SG environment. Therefore, we propose a robust key exchange and tamper-resistant protocol for HAN and NAN networks to address these limitations. The proposed protocol leverages the Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) mechanism to offer physical tampering resistance to smart meters. We validate our protocol formally using the Random or Real (RoR) model, which confirms its security robustness. Additionally, our informal security analysis highlights the protocol's resilience against impersonation, physical tampering attacks, etc. We analyze and compare the performance of the proposed protocol, which further demonstrates our protocol's effectiveness and security compared to competing protocols. Moreover, the proposed protocol achieves resource efficiency with 45.99% and 58.85% substantial reductions in computation overhead and energy overhead, respectively, compared to competing protocols. These results showcase the protocol's enhanced security and practicality for resource-constrained SG environments. © 2014 IEEE.

DRSC: Dual-Reweighted Siamese Contrastive Learning network for Cross-Domain Rotating Machinery Fault Diagnosis With Multi-Source Domain Imbalanced Data

To enhance the reliability of rotating machinery, cross-domain fault diagnosis becomes vital for detecting faults under unknown operating conditions. However, multi-source domain imbalanced data present significant challenges, as divergent label distributions across domains cause complex domain-class shifts and degrade the performance of cross-domain fault diagnosis. Moreover, diagnostic models often struggle to learn features from minority classes due to label imbalance within each domain, which may degrade the performance in diagnosing these minority classes. To address these challenges, we propose a Dual-Reweighted Siamese Contrastive learning network (DRSC) for cross-domain fault diagnosis with multi-source domain imbalanced data. In DRSC, we design a Siamese feature extractor based on a wide-kernel convolutional neural network to capture short-term characteristics and leverage the convenience in extracting domain-invariant features. Subsequently, to alleviate domain-class shifts, we design a reweighted contrastive domain-class alignment mechanism that strategically pulls domain-class pairs together while pushing other health conditions away. Finally, to enable the diagnostic model to learn from minority health conditions, a reweighted health condition classifier is developed by assigning higher weights to the minority classes. Evaluation results on two public datasets illustrate DRSC outperforms comparison models in cross-domain fault diagnosis. © 2014 IEEE.
