Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) images have attracted much attention with abundant polarimetric scattering information. In recent years, many deep learning models have been proposed and highly expanded to PolSAR image classification. However, how to learn the complex matrix information is an indispensable problem. To address this problem, a Wishart Deeplab network is developed, which can not only learn the polarimetric matrix structure by designing Wishart network level but also learn multi-scale polarimetric scattering features by incorporating dilated convolution. Specifically, the Wishart-Deeplab based PolSAR classification model is constructed by designing the Wishart convolution operation to learn the statistical information of PolSAR data. Then, a deeplabV3 + network is followed to obtain the multi-scale semantic features by dilated convolution. By this way, statistical distrubtion-based and high-level semantic features are adaptively learned to improve the performance of the network. The experiments are conducted on two sets of real PolSAR data and results show that this method can obtain better classification results. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In the complex context of 5G ultra-dense networks, the unprecedented growth in traffic and computing demand has made the interaction between edge devices and edge servers extremely intricate due to the time-varying nature of the network environment and resource heterogeneity. The combination of UDN and Mobile Edge Computing not only significantly improves network performance but also expands application scenarios and enhances user experience, marking it as one of the crucial trends in future network development. In this paper, we review recent results and research progress on MEC-based resource allocation in 5G ultra-dense networks. We analyze resource allocation strategies from multiple dimensions, including user association, interference management, energy efficiency optimization, delay reduction, access selection, and user mobility. Finally, we discuss the challenges and open issues that need to be addressed for future development in this area. © 2025 Codon Publications. All rights reserved.

Quantum private query (QPQ) faces many challenges in practical applications. At present, some scholars have made substantial work on overcoming channel loss, channel noise, and nonideal light sources, respectively. However, a protocol that would overcome all three of these problems has yet to materialize. We review a practical QPQ protocol that can actually work in noisy channels. This protocol has an upper bound on tolerable errors based on the required level of security and reliability. Then, we study the security of the above QPQ protocol under weak coherent pulses. The results indicate that the multiphoton pulses have induced significant vulnerabilities, which seriously threatens the privacy of users. Finally, we propose a decoy-state method to solve the serious threat to user security caused by multiphoton pulses. The analysis shows that the decoy-state method significantly improves the security of the QPQ protocol under weak coherent pulses. The improved protocol can not only tolerate transmission losses and channel noise, but also overcome the security vulnerability caused by a nonideal light source.

This paper explores the fairness of large music models in generating culturally diverse musical compositions, emphasizing the need for inclusivity and equity in AI-generated music. By analyzing popular datasets such as the Million Song Dataset and the Lakh MIDI Dataset, we identify a significant underrepresentation of non-Western musical elements. To address this, we adapt existing models to incorporate non-Western scales, rhythms, and instruments. The adapted models demonstrate a substantial improvement in generating culturally diverse music. Using AI-based synthetic listeners, we evaluate the impact of these adaptations on listener perception and engagement. Results indicate that music from the adapted models scores higher in terms of enjoyment, novelty, cultural resonance, and overall engagement compared to the original models. Our findings highlight the importance of cultural diversity in enhancing the user experience and ensuring ethical AI practices. The study also discusses challenges, such as dataset limitations and model adaptation complexity, and suggests directions for future research to further promote fairness and inclusivity in music AI. This work contributes to the development of more culturally aware and representative music generation systems, aiming to enrich the global musical landscape and foster greater appreciation of diverse musical traditions. © 2024 IEEE.

The aim of cross-modal image-text retrieval is to heighten comprehension and to create robust associations between visual and textual content. This process entails a mutual querying and synchronization across various data formats. While conventional techniques have seen enhancements via attention-based approaches, they frequently miss the dynamics between corresponding and non-corresponding entity areas within image-text pairs. These techniques, often fixated on aligning image entities with textual terms, can overlook the congruence of entity characteristics, leading to less accurate localization. This research introduces PNRITR, an innovative strategy for cross-modal retrieval that leverages label learning to discern attributes absent from images, broadening the scope beyond just positive entity areas. Existing indoor visible light positioning methods, such as those based on fingerprint database algorithms, are complex to construct and consume significant resources. In response to this issue, the text proposes an end-to-end indoor visible light positioning method that samples continuous signals at a small number of random coordinate positions in indoor environments. Through a deep learning method based on attention mechanism, a nonlinear mapping between the received signal and spatial position coordinates is constructed, and the time series properties in the received signal are encoded as a feature in the data. The method is further improved by combining residual networks to improve accuracy. Through simulation experiments, it has been verified that the deep learning based localization method described in this article can achieve sub meter level accuracy on small sample datasets, and it has been proven that time series features have a significant impact on localization accuracy in indoor visible light positioning algorithms based on deep learning. © 2024 IEEE.

Image-text matching is an important problem at the intersection of computer vision and natural language processing. It aims to establish the semantic link between image and text to achieve high-quality semantic alignment between the two modalities. However, the existing methods have the problem that the meaning expressed in the image or the complex narrative in the text cannot be fully understood due to insufficient feature extraction. Moreover, due to the essential modal differences between images and texts, how to effectively and accurately align the semantic contents in images and texts has become the key of research. In order to solve the above problems, this paper proposes a method based on feature enhancement and relationship interaction. When processing images, the proposed method fuses labeled features, region features and location features to represent images. When processing text, a combination of Bi-GRU and self-attention mechanism is used to represent the text. In order to further align the semantic content in images and texts accurately, this paper improves two relational interaction mechanisms by identifying connection relationships and learning association relationships. Thus, the relation enhanced embedding is obtained. Finally, it calculated the similarity of the enhanced embedding to judge the matching degree of the image and text. Extensive experiments on the public datasets Flickr30K and MSCOCO demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. © 2024 IEEE.

Chinese short text similarity computation stands as a pivotal task within natural language processing, garnering significant attention. However, existing models grapple with limitations in handling intricate semantic relationships, such as the challenge of discerning subtle semantic nuances in text, inadequacies in effectively integrating diverse levels of semantic information, and the struggle to capture polysemous meanings accurately. In addressing these issues, this paper introduces an innovative Chinese short text similarity computation model, SMGC-SBERT. This model addresses shortcomings of the existing models by employing a multi-module fusion strategy, thereby enabling a more precise measurement of semantic similarity between texts. Primarily, the model incorporates SAT embedding to acquire phrase-level semantic information and leverages the MS-BERT model to encode text, improving the model's comprehension of textual polysemy and obtaining richer semantic representation. Then, the fusion of module features, including multi-branch convolutional networks and mix pooling, enables the extraction of textual features from varied levels, bolstering the model's representational capacity. Additionally, to further reduce overfitting risks while improving accuracy and other performance, a multi-layer feature adjustment network is utilized for short text similarity calculation. The final resultant experimental findings showcase the superiority of the SMGC-SBERT model over other neural network models, demonstrating significant advancements across both Chinese-SNLI and CCKS2018_Task3 Chinese short text datasets. © 2024 IEEE.

Accurate resource allocation and colocating jobs are effective ways to increase resource utilization and reduce costs in modern datacenters. The main challenges are fluctuations in resource consumption and interference among colocated jobs. Therefore, we propose a resource management schema based on the probability distributions of resource consumption and completion time for multitenant cloud clusters. First, we found that the characteristics of the task can be well described by the probability distribution of resource consumption and completion time, and the probability distribution function can be obtained by Gaussian fitting. Second, we propose a probability distribution based resource allocation (PDRA) strategy for batch jobs. Third, we design a tail latency aware allocation (TLAA) strategy to use transient resources efficiently while ensuring tail latency requirements. Finally, we design a cost-effective resource revocation (CERR) strategy to revoke transient resources with minimal eviction costs. Experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of our resource management. Our resource allocation strategies (PDRA and TLAA) can effectively improve resource utilization and reduce job completion time. CERR can reduce the impact of resource revocation on batch jobs and perform better than existing resource revocation strategies. © 2021 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.
