Scalable and Identifier/Locator-Splitting Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

In the traditional Intemet Protocol （IP） architecture, there is an overload of IP sermntic problems. Existing solutions focused mainly on the infrastructure for the fixed network, and there is a lack of support for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks （MANETs）. To improve scalability, a routing protocol for MANETs is presented based on a locator named Tree-structure Locator Distance Vector （TLDV）. The hard core of this routing method is the identifier/locator split by the Distributed Hash Table （DHT） method, which provides a scalable routing service. The node locator indicates its relative location in the network and should be updated whenever topology changes, kocator space ks organized as a tree-structure, and the basic routing operation of the TLDV protocol is presented. TLDV protocol is compared to some classical routing protocols for MANETs on the NS2 platform Results show that TLDV has better scalability. key words：

Tele-immersive interaction with intelligent virtual agents based on real-time 3D modeling

To enable intelligent agents interacting smoothly with human users, researchers have been deploying novel interaction modalities (e.g. non-verbal cue, vision and touch) in addition to agents' conversational skills. Models of multimodality interaction can enhance agents' real-time perception, cognition and reaction towards the user. In this paper we report a novel tele-immersive interaction system developed using real-time 3D modelling techniques. In such system user's full body is reconstructed using multi-view cameras and CUDA based visual hull reconstruction algorithm. User's mesh model is then loaded into a virtual environment for interacting with an autonomous agent. Technical details and initial results of the system are illustrated in this paper. Following that a novel interaction scenario is proposed which links the virtual agent with a remote physical robot who takes the role of mediating interactions between two geographically separated users. Finally we discuss in depth the implications of such human-agent interaction and possible future improvements and directions. © 2012 Academy Publisher.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common type of dementia and the amount of risk of AD that is attributable to genetics is estimated to be around 70%. Since 2000, cDNA microarray technology is used to identify AD-related gene (ADG), and the commonly used criterion of identification is the up-regulation or down-regulation of genes. In this paper, the following feature named resonance of gene expression is observed from gene expression profile of AD: Some genes change their expression levels synchronously with a given ADG at uncontrolled stage while their expressions are independent to the ADG at control stage. This feature likes the resonance of wave or the synchronization of a group of dancers. The genes holding this feature are related to AD potentially and are identified as the candidate ADGs. The shown characteristic at Fig. 1 is suggested with the result 0 f famous Prof Goate's group on Feb. 2012.

This article proposes a method of constructing a ping-pong system via marker less real rackets in collaborative augmented reality. Except a pair of video cameras, without any other sensors or artificial markers, users can use real rackets to hit virtual ping-pong ball on a virtual table and interact with remote partners in augmented reality scene just as they were playing ping-pong in the same place. First, the real racket can be detected and tracked in real-time in the video captured by a single camera in each site. By 3D registration, the real racket can seamlessly interact with the virtual ping-pong ball and table. Then, a communication scheme is designed for the consistent perception between users in collaborative augmented reality ping-pong system. To achieve real-time interaction, the whole method is implemented in a parallel computing environment through multi-core processors. Experimental results demonstrate that our system can provide consistent perception and natural user interaction with low latency and high precision. © 2011 IEEE.

virtual experiments have been used in education for a long time. However, most of the virtual experiments are modeled only for some special subjects, and are programmed case by case. To handle these problems, an online system of virtual Educational Experiments (VEEs) is designed to develop various virtual experiments and simplify the virtual experiment modeling by reusing the existed experiment components. Based on the system of VEEs, we proposed a method of modeling and visualizing dynamic experiment components. Firstly, the dynamic experiment components are modeled based on the combination of images and graphics. Then the visualization of the dynamic experiment components is designed for multidisciplinary virtual experiments. The system has been running in some colleges and universities for several months. The tests show that it can rapidly model dynamic experiment components and realistically visualize the dynamic experiment components for the system of VEEs. © 2011 IEEE.

To find the best memory system for emerging workloads, traces are obtained during application's execution, then caches with different configurations are simulated using these traces. Since program traces can be several gigabytes, simulation of cache performance is a time consuming process. Compute unified device architecture (CUDA) is a software development platform which enables programmers to accelerate the general-purpose applications on the graphics processing unit (GPU). This paper presents a real time multi-core cache simulator, which was built based on the Pin tool to get the memory reference;and fast method for multi-core cache simulation using the CUDA-enabled GPU. The proposed method is accelerated by the following techniques: execution parallelism exploration;memory latency hiding;a novel trace compression methodology. We describe how these techniques can be incorporated into CUDA code. Experimental results show that the hybrid parallel method of time-partitioning combines with set-partitioning presented here is 11.10× speedup compared to the CPU serial simulation algorithm. The present simulator can characterize cache performance of single-threaded or multi-threaded workloads at the speeds of 6-15 MIPS. It can simulates 6 cache configurations within one single pass at this speeds compared to CMP$im, which can only simulate one cache configuration each simulation pass at the speeds of 4-10 MIPS. © 2011 IEEE.

This article proposes a novel image-based method to transfer illumination from a reference face image to a target face image through edge-preserving filters. According to our method, only a single reference image, without any knowledge of the 3D geometry or material information of the target face, is needed. We first decompose the lightness layers of the reference and the target images into large-scale and detail layers through weighted least square (WLS) filter after face alignment. The large-scale layer of the reference image is filtered with the guidance of the target image. Adaptive parameter selection schemes for the edge-preserving filters is proposed in the above two filtering steps. The final relit result is obtained by replacing the large-scale layer of the target image with that of the reference image. We acquire convincing relit result on numerous target and reference face images with different lighting effects and genders. Comparisons with previous work show that our method is less affected by geometry differences and can preserve better the identification structure and skin color of the target face. © 2011 IEEE.

Rendering virtual objects into real scenes with real illumination can greatly increase the realism of virtual objects and the consistency between the virtual and the real. The main challenge lies in illumination estimation from a single image. This article proposes a novel method of single image based illumination estimation for lighting virtual object in real scene. Only a single image, without any knowledge of the 3D geometry or reflectance, is needed, which greatly increases the applicability of the method. We first estimate coarse scene geometry and intrinsic components including shading image and reflectance image. Then the sparse radiance map of the scene is inferred based on the scene geometry and intrinsic components. Finally, the virtual objects are illuminated by the estimated sparse radiance map. Some experimental results show that this method can convincingly light virtual objects into a single real image, without any pre-recorded 3D geometry and reflectance, illumination acquisition equipments or imaging information of the image. © 2011 IEEE.

Penetration testing is widely used to help ensure the security of the network. Traditional penetration testings were manually performed by tester according to scheme, the process is usually complex resulting in that it is labor-intensive and requires tester to be familiar with all kind of tools. So it is very desirable to use a unified method to describe the scheme which can be identified by computer, then the computer can be used to substitute for tester to perform penetration testing. A new method is presented to describe penetration testing scheme. We propose a language for tester to describe the penetration testing scheme. Based on the conceptual model of penetration testing scheme we design the penetration testing scheme description language (PTSDL) and outline the important EBNF. PTSDL is declarative abstracting the process of penetration testing which makes this language flexible, extensible and adaptable to new penetration testing method. Use of this language is illustrated by an experimental study, which shows that the language can effectively describe the penetration testing scheme. © 2011 IEEE.

Realism and simplicity of virtual experiment scene building can influence the usage of virtual educational experiment applications. This paper proposes an image based method of experiment scene building for virtual Educational Experiments. Firstly, virtual educational experiment components are extracted from images of experiment instrument by using the interactive method of object extraction. Then, the corresponding logical model descriptions are attached to the extracted components. Finally, the components required in a specific experiment are inserted into the selected virtual experiment scene and are connected interactively. A routing algorithm based on equivalent connection line is designed to make the generated line connections between components clear and legible. A virtual experiment scene building system, named VE Scene builder, has been implemented and widely used. The feedbacks demonstrated that our system can rapidly generate realistic and legible virtual experiment scene. © 2011 IEEE.
