With the development of information security, localization of image manipulations havs become a hot topic. In this paper, a hybrid loss network is proposed for the manipulated image forensics. First, the patch prediction module extracts corresponding features representing the discrepancy of the tampered region boundaries. Then, these features are constrained by the Pixel Normalization, thereby improving the classification performance for the tampered patches. Finally, multi-scale patch prediction masks and semantic information are fused to segment out the tampered regions. The experiments demonstrate the proposed model can achieve high performance. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Time series data is widespread in real-world scenarios. To recover and infer missing information in practical domains, such as stock price monitoring, electricity load forecasting, traffic flows analysis, climate trend prediction, etc., the problem of time series prediction has been widely studied as a classical research topic in data mining. Over the past decade, deep learning architectures are introduced as a vital part of the next generation of time series prediction models. However, recent studies showed that deep learning models are vulnerable to adversarial attacks. In this paper, we study the adversarial attacks on the time series prediction models prospectively. We propose an attack strategy to generate adversarial samples by adding imperceptible perturbed data to the original time series with the goal of reducing the accuracy of time series prediction models. Specifically, the perturbation-based adversarial example generation algorithm is proposed using gradient information of time series prediction model. Moreover, adversarial examples should be imperceptible to humans. To address the challenge, we craft adversarial samples based on importance measuring to perturb the original data locally. We evaluate our attacks on state-of-the-art time series prediction models using three time series datasets. Our results demonstrate that our attacks can effectively evade the time series prediction models, and the adversarial attacks mechanisms can be used as robustness metric for constructing robust time series prediction models. © 2021 ACM.

Due to technical bottlenecks such as systems vulnerable to attacks and data are easily tampered with, and it is difficult for the distributed power system data storage management to achieve multi-agent integration and development. Known as the "trust machine,"the Blockchain has an essential role in promoting the energy Internet construction with its distributed storage, tamper-proof, traceable, and multi-node sharing technical characteristics. Its technical advantages have great potential application value in the power industry. Most of the existing blockchain schemes directly combine the CP-ABE algorithm with the Blockchain. However, due to the lack of permission inheritance, these schemes have permission to redundancy and waste computing resources. In this paper, a new user-controlled on-chain permission management scheme is proposed. The original CP-ABE model is extended in this scheme, and the concept of role assignment and attribute tree is proposed. The attribute tree uses the multi-tree structure to realize the attribute set's specification description. The connectivity between roles in the attribute tree represents the inheritance relationship of permission so that the permission inheritance and permission granting can be realized. In this paper, a sidechain prototype system is developed for evaluating the scheme, and its performance is tested and analyzed. The experimental results show that the prototype system can realize the user-controlled permission assignment and permission inheritance function of data owner on the Blockchain. © 2021 ACM.

With the proliferation of cloud services and the continuous growth in enterprises' demand for dynamic multi-dimensional resources, the implementation of effective strategy for time-varying workload scheduling has become increasingly significant. In this paper, we propose a deep reinforcement learning (DRL)-based method for time-varying workload scheduling, aiming to allocate resources efficiently across servers in the cluster. Specifically, we integrate a classifier and queue scorer to construct a priority queue that exploits temporal resource utilization patterns across different workload classes. Then, we design parallel graph attention layers to capture the dimensional features and temporal dynamics of cloud server cluster. Moreover, we propose a DRL algorithm to generate scheduling strategies that can adapt to dynamic environments. Validation on real-world traces from Google cluster demonstrates that our method outperforms existing approaches in key metrics of cloud server cluster management. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Zero-Query Adversarial Attack on Black-box Automatic Speech Recognition Systems

In recent years, extensive research has been conducted on the vulnerability of ASR systems, revealing that black-box adversarial example attacks pose significant threats to real-world ASR systems. However, most existing black-box attacks rely on queries to the target ASRs, which is impractical when queries are not permitted. In this paper, we propose ZQ-Attack, a transfer-based adversarial attack on ASR systems in the zero-query black-box setting. Through a comprehensive review and categorization of modern ASR technologies, we first meticulously select surrogate ASRs of diverse types to generate adversarial examples. Following this, ZQ-Attack initializes the adversarial perturbation with a scaled target command audio, rendering it relatively imperceptible while maintaining effectiveness. Subsequently, to achieve high transferability of adversarial perturbations, we propose a sequential ensemble optimization algorithm, which iteratively optimizes the adversarial perturbation on each surrogate model, leveraging collaborative information from other models. We conduct extensive experiments to evaluate ZQ-Attack. In the over-the-line setting, ZQ-Attack achieves a 100% success rate of attack (SRoA) with an average signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 21.91dB on 4 online speech recognition services, and attains an average SRoA of 100% and SNR of 19.67dB on 16 open-source ASRs. For commercial intelligent voice control devices, ZQ-Attack also achieves a 100% SRoA with an average SNR of 15.77dB in the over-the-air setting. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

As the underlying infrastructure, data center networks (DCNs) provide an important platform for cloud computing and next-generation networks. However, due to the influence of many factors, such as network, hardware, and software, various failures may occur during the operation of the DCN, which brings great challenges to its reliability. Particularly, a more insidious type of network failure, known as gray failure, presents a significant threat to system stability. In response to this challenge, in this work, we propose GrayINT, a gray failure detection and localization system that leverages In-band network Telemetry (INT) technology to monitor all paths within the data center network in real-time. To verify the feasibility of our design, we build a fat-tree data center network on a virtual network testbed. A large number of experimental results demonstrate that our system can monitor device and link status in real-time, achieving gray failure detection and localization.

Sequential Recommender Systems (SRS), leveraging the temporal information from users' behaviors, have noticeably improved user experience against traditional systems. However, these behaviors often follow long-tail distribution, making the systems biased towards popular items (i.e., popularity bias). Moreover, popularity bias would amplify the neglect of long-tail recommendations, thereby sharpening the long-tail problem. Previous researches usually address these challenges independently, focusing on reducing the over-recommendation of popular items or enhancing the representation quality of tail items. Indeed, it is possible to incorporate their merits to achieve the best of both worlds. Thus, we propose a novel and unified framework, named Collaborative Solution to Long tailed problem and Popularity bias (CSLP), to tackle both the long-tail problem and popularity bias simultaneously. To achieve this, we first introduce a representation enhancement module featuring dual generators to enhance user and item representations, particularly for those in the tail. On the other hand, a debiasing module incorporating an Inverse Propensity Score (IPS) with a clipping strategy is introduced to further alleviate the popularity bias. Specifically, this clipping strategy demonstrates a clear decrease in the original IPS method's variance, effectively improving the recommendation for stability and accuracy. Experiments on three widely-used datasets show CSLP's effectiveness in solving both issues. CSLP surpasses all baselines (traditional, popularity bias, and long-tail problem) in overall performance, significantly enhancing recommendation accuracy for both tail users and items, and achieving a more balanced ratio of recommendations between popular and tail items. The objective of sequential recommendation is to predict user preferences for items based on historical interaction sequences. This process often leads to a phenomenon known as popularity bias, where popular items are excessively recommended. Conformity, the tendency of users to follow popular items, is a significant factor contributing to this issue. Previous methods have not adequately disentangled conformity and interest, failing to accurately model users’ true intent. To address this, we propose a novel Disentangled Interest and Conformity Sequential Recommendation method (DICSRec) to mitigate the popularity bias. Specifically, we first design an Intent Encoding Module (IEM), which includes two independent encoders for conformity and interest to model their representations. To better disentangle these two factors, we design a disentangling task with proxy-based self-supervised learning and orthogonal regularization. Furthermore, to provide the Intent Encoding Module with more global information, we design a Global Conformity-aware Module (GCM), which supplies item popularity information and aids in enhancing user conformity representation. Lastly, recognizing the varying significance of user conformity and interest, we propose an adaptive Fusion Prediction Module (FPM) that adaptively aggregates user conformity and interest representations for final prediction. Experiments on four real-world datasets consistently demonstrate the superiority of our method over advanced sequential recommendation models. Traffic classification is an essential part of intelligent network management in Fifth generation (5G) networks, from quality of service guarantees to security monitoring. With the evolution of diverse services and applications over 5G networks, traffic patterns and their implications also becoming more complicated, especially in wireless networks. How to dynamically manage the growing traffic demand and satisfy the quality of service (QoS) needs of new applications is particularly critical. The biggest challenge is how to identify traffic types accurately without application information and manual features. However, the existing deep learning (DL)-based classifiers heavily rely on extensive and high-quality samples, which proves impractical to obtain in wireless networks. To overcome this limitation, we propose an ensemble Learning based traffic classification model to provide accurate identification with small-scale datasets, where Attention-based Long Short-Term Memory networks are bagged to train this classifier. The ensemble learning approach employs a combinatorial design involving five base models to construct more accurate and robust learning models. This enables effective feature absorption, making it feasible to train classifiers on limited sample sets. Comprehensive experiments are conducted using a real-world dataset covering 16 applications. Results demonstrate that, even with a mere 10% of training samples, our proposed model achieves a classification accuracy of 95.57% and a precision of 95.83%, surpassing multiple cutting-edge methods.
