We study the prospects of using the low-redshift and high-redshift black hole shadows as new cosmological standard rulers for measuring cosmological *** show that,using the low-redshift observation of the black hole shadow of M87?,the Hubble constant can be independently determined with a precision of about 13%as H0=70±9 km s?1 Mpc?*** high-redshift observations of super-massive black hole shadows may accurately determine a combination of parameters H0 andΩm,and we show by a simple simulation that combining them with the type Ia supernovae observations would give precise measurements of the cosmological parameters.

X-ray prohibited items detection is an effective and crucial measure in various security inspection scenarios. However, the overlapping phenomenon in X-ray images exacerbates the foreground-background class imbalance, and the imaging principle of X-ray images results in missing texture features. To address these challenges, we propose an end-to-end X-ray Prohibited Items Detector (PID-YOLOX) based on YOLOX-Tiny, which offers fast detection speed and high accuracy. Specifically, we introduce the Generalized Label Assignment (GLA) scheme to tackle the foreground-background class imbalance problem, and the Multi-Cardinality Attention (MCA) mechanism to alleviate the issue of missing texture features. Our experimental results show that PID-YOLOX achieves 54.9% average precision (AP) on the PIXray dataset, surpassing YOLOX-Tiny by 2.2% AP. Furthermore, extensive experiments demonstrate that PID-YOLOX is superior to the state-of-the-art methods, indicating its potential applications in the prohibited items detection field. © 2023 IEEE.

As we all know, there is an unsolved problem for robots to accurately and quickly grasp unknown objects in an unstructured environment. In order to describe the pose information of objects more accurately, a rotational Gaussian encoding method is proposed in this paper. Different from the traditional 2-D Gaussian encoding to represent ground-truth, this method introduces rotation information based on 2-D Gaussian. Grasping is made more accurate and robust by treating the grasp pose as a rotating bounding box in the image plane. In addition, a balanced loss function is introduced in this paper. This loss function not only solves the problem of positive and negative sample imbalance in the traditional cross-entropy loss but also reduces the penalty of points around the Gaussian center location. In this paper, a pixel-level single-stage grasping algorithm is designed in an end-to-end manner without the intermediate process of using anchor points, which saves time and improves the accuracy of grasping simultaneously. Then, the proposed model in this paper is evaluated on two standard datasets, Cornell dataset and Jacquard dataset, achieving 96.8% and 94.7% accuracy, respectively. Finally, we use a 6 DoF UR5e robotic arm for real-world grasping experiments. The success rate of single-object grasping is 94.7% and the time to generate the grasp frame is 8 ms. Experiments demonstrat that the algorithm is equally effective in real-world environments and has a faster detection time. © 2023 IEEE.

Numerous third-party libraries introduced into client projects are not actually required, resulting in modern software being gradually bloated. Software developers may spend much unnecessary effort to manage the bloated dependencies: keeping the library versions up-to-date, making sure that heterogeneous licenses are compatible, and resolving dependency conflict or vulnerability issues. However, the prior debloating techniques can easily produce false alarms of bloated dependencies since they are less effective in analyzing Java reflections. Besides, the solutions given by the existing approaches for removing bloated dependencies may induce new issues that are not conducive to dependency management. To address the above limitations, in this paper, we developed a technique, Slimming, to remove bloated dependencies from software projects reliably. Slimming statically analyzes the Java reflections that are commonly leveraged by popular frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot) and resolves the reflective targets via parsing configuration files (*. xml, *. ym1 and *. properties). By modeling string manipulations, Slimming fully resolves the string arguments of our concerned reflection APIs to identify all the required dependencies. More importantly, it helps developers analyze the debloating solutions by weighing the benefits against the costs of dependency management. Our evaluation results show that the static reflection analysis capability of Slimming outperforms all the other existing techniques with 97.0% of Precision and 98.8% of Recall. Compared with the prior debloating techniques, Slimming can reliably remove the bloated dependencies with a 100% test passing ratio and improve the rationality of debloating solutions. In our large-scale study in the Maven ecosystem, Slimming reported 484 bloated dependencies to 66 open-source projects. 38 reports (57.6%) have been confirmed by developers. © 2024 ACM.

Multitasking evolutionary algorithms enable the communication of information between different tasks and the mining of valuable knowledge by encoding all individuals into a unified search space. The mapping of decision variables of the same dimension for different tasks in the unified search space has the same dimensional index, i.e., the same encoded position. In this paper, we disrupt this mapping relationship so that decision variables of the same dimension for different tasks correspond to different encoded positions in the unified search space, to analyze and discuss the effect of this mapping relationship on the performance of the algorithm. A series of experimental results suggest that the mapping relationship between the decision variables of different tasks in a multitasking evolutionary algorithm has a significant impact on the performance of the algorithm. © 2021 IEEE

With the rapid development of 3D vision technology, the existing passive binocular cameras can no longer meet the practical needs of depth perception. Therefore, this paper proposes a binocular active stereo matching method based on multi-scale random forest. Firstly, a binocular active vision system consists of a near-infrared random speckle projector and a binocular camera is constructed, and the system was calibrated using Zhang's calibration method. Secondly, gamma image enhancement and image difference method are used for processing to reduce the impact of ambient light on the measurement results. Next, extract the points of interest and use the multi-scale random forest algorithm to match the window where the points of interest are located to generate a sparse structured light anchor disparity map globally. Finally, using the Census transforms as the matching cost, iterate continuously, refine the disparity and get a dense disparity map. The experimental results show that this system can achieve good depth perception accuracy and robustness under complex indoor lighting conditions. © 2023 IEEE.

BERD+: A Generic Sequential Recommendation Framework by Eliminating Unreliable data with Item- and Attribute-level Signals

A preliminary work of our study was published at IJCAI’21 [47], which is substantially extended in the following aspects: (1) In Section 1, we analyze the necessity of introducing item attributes for detecting unreliable instances, together with the problems and challenges that attributes may bring in. (2) In Section 2, we add discussions about the limitations of existing attribute-aware recommender systems (Section 2.2) and denoising methods (Section 2.3) in the context of detecting unreliable instances. (3) In Section 4.2, we further conduct an in-depth analysis at the attribute level to demonstrate the capability of attributes for rectifying instance loss and uncertainty, as well as the disturbance caused by attributes. (4) We generalize BERD to a generic framework BERD+ in Section 5.1, equipped with novel modules, i.e., HU-GCN (Section 5.2) and EPE (Section 5.4), which properly incorporate item attributes while reducing their disturbance for rectifying instance uncer tainty (Section 5.5) and loss (Section 5.6). The generic BERD+ can be flexibly plugged into existing SRSs for performance enhanced recommendation via eliminating unreliable data. (5) In Section 6.2, we apply our BERD+ framework to seven state-of-the-art SRSs on five real-world datasets to illustrate its superiority. (6) To avoid unfair comparison caused by item attributes, we build and compare with the baseline that combines the original BERD and an advanced attribute-aware recommender system, KSR [19]. (7) For more comprehensive comparison, in Section 6.2.2, we compare BRED+ with two state-of-the-art denoising approaches;in Section 6.2.3, to examine the efficacy of HU-GCN and EPE, we compare HU-GCN with various attribute embedding techniques, i.e., variants of graph neural networks, and compare EPE with different attribute fusing methods, i.e., adding, concatenation, and weighted sum. Neuroinflammation,mediated by the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing-3(NLRP3)inflammasome,is a significant contributor to the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases(NDDs).Reynos-in,a natural sesquiterpene lactone(SL),exhibits a broad spectrum of pharmacological effects,suggesting its potential therapeutic ***,the effects and mechanism of reynosin on neuroinflammation remain *** current study explores the effects and mechanisms of reynosin on neuroinflammation using mice and BV-2 microglial cells treated with lipopolysaccharide(LPS).Our findings reveal that reynosin effectively reduces microglial inflammation in vitro,as demonstrated by decreased CD11b expression and lowered interleukin-1 beta(IL-1β)and interleukin-18(IL-18)mRNA and protein ***,in vivo,results showed a re-duction in the number of Iba-1 positive cells and alleviation of morphological alterations,alongside decreased expressions of IL-1βand *** analysis indicates that reynosin inhibits NLRP3 inflammasome activation,evidenced by reduced transcription of NLRP3 and caspase-1,diminished NLRP3 protein expression,inhibited apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD(ASC)oli-gomerization,and decreased caspase-1 ***,reynosin curtailed the activation of nicotinamide adenine dinuc-leotide phosphate(NADPH)oxidase,demonstrated by reduced NADP^(+)and NADPH levels,downregulation of gp91^(phox) mRNA,pro-tein expression,suppression of p47^(phox) expression and translocation to the ***,reynosin exhibited a neuroprotective effect against microglial inflammation in vivo and in *** collective findings underscore reynosin’s capacity to mitigate mi-croglial inflammation by inhibiting the NLRP3 inflammasome,thus highlighting its potential as a therapeutic agent for managing neuroinflammation.

Exploring neutrino mass and mass hierarchy in interacting dark energy models

We investigate how the dark energy properties impact the constraints on the total neutrino mass in interacting dark energy（IDE）models. In this study, we focus on two typical interacting dynamical dark energy models, i.e., the interacting w cold dark matter（IwCDM） model and the interacting holographic dark energy（IHDE） model. To avoid the large-scale instability problem in IDE models, we apply the parameterized post-Friedmann approach to calculate the perturbation of dark energy. We employ the Planck 2015 cosmic microwave background temperature and polarization data, combined with low-redshift measurements on baryon acoustic oscillation distance scales, type Ia supernovae, and the Hubble constant, to constrain the cosmological parameters. We find that the dark energy properties could influence the constraint limits on the total neutrino mass. Once dynamical dark energy is considered in the IDE models, the upper bounds of ∑mν will be changed. By considering the values of χmin2 , we find that in these IDE models the normal hierarchy case is slightly preferred over the inverted hierarchy case; for example, ?χ2= 2.720 is given in the IHDE+∑mν model. In addition, we also find that in the Iw CDM+∑mν model β = 0 is consistent with current observational data inside the 1σ range, and in the IHDE+∑mν model β > 0 is favored at more than 2σ level.

Pulsar timing array(PTA)data releases show strong evidence for a stochastic gravitational-wave background in the nanohertz *** the signal is interpreted by a scenario of scalar-induced gravitational waves(SIGWs),we encounter overproduction of primordial black holes(PBHs).We wonder if varying the equation of state(EoS)of the early Universe can resolve this issue and thereby lead to a consistent interpretation of the PTA *** a data combination of PTA,big-bang nucleosynthesis,and cosmic microwave background,we find that an epoch with EoS w~O(10^(-2))between the end of inflation and the onset of radiation domination can significantly suppress the production of PBHs,leading to alleviation of the PBH-overproduction *** the inferred interval w=0.44_(-0.40)^(+0.52)at 95%confidence level,our scenario can interpret the PTA data just as well as the conventional scenario of SIGWs produced during the radiation domination.
