In this study, we investigate the burning behavior of titanium during the electroslag remelting (ESR) process and its impact on the titanium content at the endpoint using machine learning. Initially, a comprehensive database was established by collecting data from literature and experiments, encompassing slag system composition, smelting temperature, and material composition content. Subsequently, six machine learning algorithms, including random forest and Bayesian regression, were employed to model the burning loss behavior of titanium. The random forest model, which exhibited optimal mean square error (MSE) performance, was utilized to generate partial dependence plots. These plots, in conjunction with experimental observations and existing studies, facilitated the analysis of key factors influencing titanium burn loss. Furthermore, the same six machine learning models were applied to predict the endpoint titanium content. The Bayesian regression model demonstrated superior performance in terms of R2 and MSE, leading to the derivation of an empirical formula for predicting endpoint titanium content. This empirical formula was subsequently validated, refined, and optimized using a thermodynamic model based on the theory of molecular ion coexistence. Dark energy versus modified gravity: Impacts on measuring neutrino mass

In this paper, we make a comparison for the impacts of smooth dynamical dark energy, modified gravity, and interacting dark energy on the cosmological constraints on the total mass of active neutrinos. For definiteness, we consider the ΛCDMmodel, the wCDM model, the f(R) model, and two typical interacting vacuum energy models, i.e., the IΛCDM1 model with Q = βHρc and the IΛCDM2 model with Q = βHρΛ. In the cosmological fits, we use the Planck 2015 temperature and polarization data, in combination with other low-redshift observations including the baryon acoustic oscillations, the type Ia supernovae, the Hubble constant measurement, and the large-scale structure observations, such as the weak lensing as well as the redshift-space distortion. Besides, the Planck lensing measurement is also employed in this work. We find that, the wCDM model favors a higher upper limit on the neutrino mass compared to the ΛCDM model, while the upper limit in the f(R) model is similar with that of ΛCDM model. For the interacting vacuum energy models, the IΛCDM1 model favors a higher upper limit on neutrino mass, while the IΛCDM2 model favors an identical neutrino mass with the case of ΛCDM. A preliminary forecast for cosmological parameter estimation with gravitational-wave standard sirens from TianQin

TianQin is a space-based gravitational-wave observatory scheduled to be launched in the 2030s. In this work, we make a preliminary forecast for the cosmological parameter estimation with the gravitational-wave standard siren observation from TianQin. We simulate the standard siren data of TianQin from its five-year observation after its completion of construction. In the simulation, three models of growth history of massive black holes, i.e., pop III, Q3nod, and Q3d, are considered in the prediction for the event numbers of massive black hole binary mergers. We find that: (i) among the three black hole growth models, the TianQin's data simulated based on the Q3nod model can provide the tightest constraints on the cosmological parameters;(ii) although the cost of TianQin is less than that of LISA, their capabilities on constraining cosmological parameters using the standard siren observation are actually similar;and (iii) the standard siren observation from TianQin can actually provide important helps in the cosmological estimation in the future. Quantifying the impacts of future gravitational-wave data on constraining interacting dark energy

In this work, we investigate the impacts of the gravitational-wave (GW) standard siren observation of the Einstein Telescope (ET) on constraining the interacting dark energy models. We simulate 1000 GW events data in the redshift range 0. z. 5 based on the 10 years observation of the ET. We combine the simulated GW data with the current mainstream cosmological electromagnetic observations including the cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotroties observation, the baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO), and the type Ia supernovae (SN) observation (Pantheon compilation) to constrain these models. We consider two typical interacting dark energy (IDE) models, i.e., the IΛCDM model and IwCDM model, in the context of a perturbed universe. To avoid the large-scale instability problem for IDE models, we apply the parameterized post-Friedmann (PPF) approach to do the analysis. We find that the addition of GW standard siren data could improve the constraint accuracies on most of the cosmological parameters (e.g., H0, w, and Ωm) significantly. For the coupling constant β, the absolute constraint errors could also be slightly improved when adding the GW data in the cosmological fit. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A new cosmological probe from supermassive black hole shadows

In this letter, we study the prospect for using the low-redshift and high-redshift black hole shadows as a new cosmological standard ruler to measure the cosmological parameters. We show that, using the low-redshift observation of the black hole shadow of M87?, the Hubble constant can be independently measured at the precision of about 11%, with the measurement result H0 = 70±8 km s−1 Mpc−1, well consistent with the measurement result from the gravitational-wave standard siren observation, but with smaller error. If we assume that in the current stage for single data points the errors are all similar, a naive estimation shows that only about 30 data of the the low-redshift observation of black hole shadows can be used to improve the measurement of H0 to be at the precision of about 2%. The high-redshift observations of supermassive black hole shadows might accurately measure a parameter combination of H0 and Ωm, and we show by a simple simulation that the combination of the black hole shadows with the type Ia supernovae observation would give precise measurements for cosmological parameters. Can the H0tension be resolved in extensions to ΛCDM cosmology?

We wish to investigate whether there is an extension to the base ΛCDM cosmology that can resolve the tension between the Planck observation of the cosmic microwave background anisotropies and the local measurement of the Hubble constant. We consider various plausible extended models in this work, and we use the Planck 2015 observations, combined with the baryon acoustic oscillation data, the JLA type Ia supernovae data, and the local measurement of the Hubble constant (by Riess et al. in 2016), to make an analysis. We find that the holographic dark energy plus sterile neutrino model can reduce the tension to be at the 1.11σ level, but this model is obviously not favored by the current observations. Among these extended models, the ΛCDM+Neffmodel is most favored by the current observations, and this model can reduce the tension to be at the 1.87σ level. By a careful test, we conclude that none of these extended models can convincingly resolve the H0tension. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Prospect for constraining holographic dark energy with gravitational wave standard sirens from the Einstein Telescope

We study the holographic dark energy (HDE) model by using the future gravitational wave (GW) standard siren data observed from the Einstein Telescope (ET) in this work. We simulate 1000 GW standard siren data based on a 10-year observation of the ET to make this analysis. We find that all the cosmological parameters in the HDE model can be tremendously improved by including the GW standard siren data in the cosmological fit. The GW data combined with the current cosmic microwave background anisotropies, baryon acoustic oscillations, and type Ia supernovae data will measure the cosmological parameters Ωm, H0, and c in the HDE model to be at the accuracies of 1.28%, 0.59%, and 3.69%, respectively. A comparison with the cosmological constant model and the constant-w dark energy model shows that, compared to the standard model, the parameter degeneracies will be broken more thoroughly in a dynamical dark energy model. We find that the GW data alone can provide a fairly good measurement for H0, but for other cosmological parameters the GW data alone can only provide rather weak measurements. However, due to the fact that the parameter degeneracies can be broken by the GW data, the standard sirens can play an essential role in improving the parameter estimation. This paper proposes a rumor control model based on community immunization. Based on the community division and the trust network inference algorithm, the model redefines the standard to measure the importance of nodes in the network. First, the model uses the Louvain clustering algorithm based on the Ochiai coefficient to discover the network community and then presents the trust network inference algorithm. By analyzing the key factors that affect trust transfer between nodes, the trust evaluation between unfamiliar nodes is inferred, and important nodes with a high degree of trust in the network community are calculated. Finally, combined with the characteristics of inner degree and outer degree centrality of nodes in the network community, five types of important nodes in the network are screened out. To avoid repeated selection of nodes, this paper identifies a group of key nodes in the network community for local immunization by means of deduplication and taking intersection, so as to realize effective control of rumors in the network.

The key to ensuring the quality of the cladding layer is to optimize the laser cladding process parameters. The goal of this study was carried out to use the Taguchi method and grey relational analysis to efficiently optimize the laser cladding process parameters for Fe1 alloy powder on Q235 substrate. Firstly, in order to reveal the relationship between the geometrical characteristic parameters of the single tracks and the process parameters, 25 groups of a single factor experiment were conducted. Secondly, the difference between the experimental and ideal dilution rate and aspect ratio were studied using analysis of variance, which could evaluate the impact of process parameters on optimize response objectives. Thirdly, the aspect ratio and the difference between the experimental and ideal dilution rate were regarded as the response goals and were normalized to the grey relational grades (GRG). Finally, the surface microhardness of Q235 has been increased by 2.24 times. In summary, this study can also offer valuable references for the laser cladding process optimization for different iron-based self-fluxing alloy powders. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A Hybrid Method for Photonic Crystal Fiber Polarization Filter Based on Artificial Neural Network and Genetic Algorithms

In this paper, we proposed a design method for photonic crystal fiber polarization filters incorporating artificial neural network (ANN) and genetic algorithm (GA) to achieve high-performance polarization filters. The ANN is trained to accurately learn the relationship between the structure parameter and polarization properties of PCFs, and GA is utilized to select the structural parameters with optimal performance. Confinement loss, bandwidth, and resonance wavelength of the polarization filter serve as parameters in the multi-objective optimization process performed by the GA. Numerical results demonstrate that the designed PCF filter has high performance, with a confinement loss of 1995.75 dB/cm for the y polarization core mode at 1.55 μm, and crosstalk and bandwidth of 1720.15 dB and 932 nm, respectively. It indicates that the hybrid design method is a promising and viable approach for the development of optical applications. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.
