Both particle physics experiments and cosmological observations have been used to explore neutrino properties. Cosmological researches of neutrinos often rely on the early-universe cosmic microwave background observations or other late-universe probes, which mostly focus on large-scale structures. We introduce a distinct probe, the 21-cm forest, that differs from other probes in both time and scale. Actually, the 21-cm forest is a unique tool for studying small-scale structures in the early universe. Below the free-streaming scale, massive neutrinos suppress the matter power spectrum, influencing small-scale fluctuations in the distribution of matter. The one-dimensional (1D) power spectrum of the 21-cm forest can track these fluctuations across different scales, similar to the matter power spectrum, providing an effective method to constrain neutrino mass. Although heating effects in the early universe can also impact the 1D power spectrum of the 21-cm forest, we assess the potential of the 21-cm forest as a tool for measuring neutrino mass, given that the temperature of the intergalactic medium can be constrained using other methods within a certain range. In the ideal scenario, the 21-cm forest observation will have the ability to constrain the total neutrino mass to around 0.1 eV. With the accumulation of observational data and advancements in observational technology, the 21-cm forest holds great promise as an emerging and potent tool for measuring neutrino mass. The defect detection of semiconductor wafer patterns is essential in the process of chip manufacturing. With the improvement of the IC process and design level, the types of wafer surface defects become more complex. In addition, the sample size of wafer map defect data is usually small, and the class is unbalanced, which poses higher challenges to the existing methods. To effectively identify mixed-type defects, a mixed-type defect detection framework with Vision Transformer (ViT) combined with meta-learning and transfer learning (MetaViT-Trans) is proposed. The results show that the MetaViT-Trans framework has a good defect feature extraction ability for imbalanced small-scale wafer map defect data, and has a good multi-scale information learning ability, which can effectively identify a variety of mixed-type defects.

As integrated circuit (IC) technology continues to advance, lithography hotspot detection is of importance in physical verification flow and can affect the turn-around time and the yield of IC manufacturing. In this paper, a deep learning-based lithography hotspot detection method is proposed to overcome the problem of unbalanced positive and negative samples in detection. The proposed method uses the High-Resolution Network (HR-Net18) and pre-trained model from ImageNet to improve transferability. ICCAD 2012 benchmark suits is used for model train and test. The experimental results show that the proposed method performs well in terms of the values of AUC and precision.

Evolutionary transfer optimization(ETO) serves as "a new frontier in evolutionary computation research", which will avoid zero reuse of experience and knowledge from solved problems in traditional evolutionary computation. In schedule-ing applications via ETO, a highly competitive "meeting" framework between them could be constituted towards both intelligent scheduling and green scheduling, especially for carbon neutrality within the context of China. To the best of our knowledge, our study on scheduling here, is the 1st work of ETO for complex optimization when multi-objective problem "meets" single-objective problems in combinatorial case (not multitasking optimization). More specifically, key knowledge like positional building blocks clustered, could be learned and transferred for permutation flow shop scheduling problem (PFSP). Empirical studies on well-studied benchmarks validate relatively firm effectiveness and great potential of our proposed ETO-PFSP framework. © 2021 IEEE

This paper studies the output regulation bumpless transfer control for event-triggered discrete-time switched systems under denial-of-service(DoS) *** switched systems subject to DoS,both the sensor signal and switching signal may be *** satisfy the bumpless transfer(BT) performance,we cannot use the common input zeroing *** problem that the triggering error being attacked may not follow the triggering condition ***,the controller mode may be asynchronous with the plant *** with the above two problems,we design an event-triggered dynamic error feedback controller and a switching law to guarantee that the output regulation problem for switched systems is solvable,and the BT performance can be ***,corresponding sufficient conditions are proposed in the form of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs).Finally,a numerical example is given to illustrate the validity of our results.

Constraining primordial black hole abundance with Insight-HXMT

Primordial black holes (PBHs) are a major candidate for dark matter and they have been extensively constrained across most mass ranges. However, PBHs in the mass range of 1017 – 1021 g remain a viable explanation for all dark matter. In this work, we use observational data from the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) to refine constraints on PBHs within the mass range of 1016 – 1018 g. Our analysis explores three scenarios: directly using observational data, incorporating the astrophysical background model (ABM), and employing the power-law spectrum with an exponential cutoff. Additionally, we also account for photon flux from positron annihilation due to Hawking radiation in our calculations. Our findings indicate that directly using observational data significantly tightens constraints on PBHs with masses above 1017 g, owing to Insight-HXMT’s exceptional sensitivity to hard X-rays. Incorporating the ABM further enhances the constraints by approximately 0.8 orders of magnitude. The exclusion limit for PBHs as dark matter extends to 8 × 1017 g, nearly doubling the current threshold. Moreover, extrapolating the energy limit with a power-law model improves constraints by approximately one order of magnitude compared to the ABM scenario. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Precise cosmological measurements are essential for understanding the evolution of the universe and the nature of dark energy. The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST), the most sensitive single-dish radio telescope, has the potential to provide the precise cosmological measurements through neutral hydrogen 21 cm intensity mapping sky survey. This paper primarily explores the potential of technological upgrades for FAST in cosmology. The most crucial upgrade begins with equipping FAST with a wide-band receiver (0 0) = 0.09 and σ(wa) = 0.33. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.
