Impacts of dark energy on constraining neutrino mass after Planck 2018

Considering the mass splittings of three active neutrinos,we investigate how the properties of dark energy affect the cosmological constraints on the total neutrino mass∑mv using the latest cosmological *** this paper,several typical dark energy models,including ACDM,wCDM,CPL,and HDE models,are *** the analysis,we also consider the effects from the neutrino mass hierarchies,*** degenerate hierarchy(DH),the normal hierarchy(NH),and the inverted hierarchy(IH).We employ the current cosmological observations to do the analysis,including the Planck 2018 temperature and polarization power spectra,the baryon acoustic oscillations(BAO),the type Ia supernovae(SNe),and the Hubble constant H0 *** the ACDM+∑mv model,we obtain the upper limits of the neutrino mass∑mv<0.123 eV(DH),∑mv<0.156 eV(NH),and∑mv<0.185 eV(IH)at the 95%C.L.,using the Planck+BAO+SNe data *** the wCDM+∑mv model and the CPL+∑mv model,larger upper limits of∑mv are obtained compared to those of the ACDM+∑mv *** most stringent constraint on the neutrino mass,∑mv<0.080 eV(DH),is derived in the HDE+∑mv *** addition,we find that the inclusion of the local measurement of the Hubble constant in the data combination leads to tighter constraints on the total neutrino mass in all these dark energy models.

Dual-core fiber curvature sensor based on femtosecond laser processing

In this paper, a curvature sensor based on femtosecond laser processing of two-core fiber is proposed. The sensor uses the interference between two core modes of the two-core fiber to realize curvature sensing. According to the two-beam interference formula, the curvature sensing sensitivity and the free spectral range of the sensing structure are theoretically independent and adjustable, consequently it is more flexible. The sensor comprises single-mode fiber, no-core fiber, and two-core fiber. Femtosecond laser fabricates waveguides in no-core fiber to guide light from single-mode fiber into a two-core fiber. In order to construct the optical path difference, the end face of the two-core fiber is processed into a stepped shape using the femtosecond laser. The entire fiber structure constitutes the MI. The curvature tests of this sensor are carried out. The experimental results demonstrate that the sensor can identify a one-dimensional bending direction. Curvature is applied to the two-core fiber of different lengths. It is found that the longer the length of the bending part, the higher the sensor’s sensitivity. When the bending part of the two-core fiber is 4 cm, in the curvature range of 0 to 0.241 m −1 , the curvature sensitivity of the sensor bending in different directions can reach −60.4 nm/m −1 and +60.1 nm/m −1 , while maintaining high linearity.

A search for sterile neutrinos in interacting dark energy models using DESI baryon acoustic oscillations and DES supernovae data

Sterile neutrinos can influence the evolution of the universe, and thus cosmological observations can be used to search for sterile neutrinos. In this study, we utilized the latest baryon acoustic oscillations data from DESI, combined with the cosmic microwave background data from Planck and the five-year supernova data from DES, to constrain the interacting dark energy (IDE) models involving both cases of massless and massive sterile neutrinos. We consider four typical forms of the interaction term Q=βHρ_de, Q=βHρ_c, Q=βH₀ρ_de, and Q=βH₀ρ_c, respectively. Our analysis indicates that the current data provide only a hint of the existence of massless sterile neutrinos (as dark radiation) at about the 1σ level. In contrast, no evidence supports the existence of massive sterile neutrinos. Furthermore, in IDE models, the inclusion of (massless/massive) sterile neutrinos has a negligible impact on the constraint of the coupling parameter β. The IDE model of Q=βHρ_c with sterile neutrinos does not favor an interaction. However, the other three IDE models with sterile neutrinos support an interaction in which dark energy decays into dark matter. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

In order to improve the locomotion capability of quadruped robot in the sloping terrain and enhance whose adaptability to the environment, this paper proposes a method to realize dynamic locomotion of quadruped robot in sloping terrain completely based on model predictive control (MPC) and proprioception. According to the foot contact signal and the robot body posture information measured by inertial measurement unit (IMU), quadruped robot actively changes whose body posture to adapt to different sloping terrains. This paper builds quadruped robot virtual prototype and test terrain in Webots simulation environment. The experimental results show that with this method, the roll angle fluctuation range of the quadruped robot is less than 0.05rad and the yaw angle fluctuation range is not more than 0.003rad. At the same time, when the angle of slope changes, the terrain adaptation time of the quadruped robot is less than 1.8s. The above results show that quadruped robot has excellent movement ability in sloping terrain and environmental adaptability under the condition of ensuring stability with the method proposed in this paper. © 2023 IEEE.

Joint constraints on cosmological parameters using future multi-band gravitational wave standard siren observations

Gravitational waves(GWs)from compact binary coalescences can be used as standard sirens to explore the cosmic expansion *** the next decades,it is anticipated that we could obtain the multi-band GW standard siren data(from nanohertz to a few hundred hertz),which are expected to play an important role in cosmological parameter *** this work,we provide,for the first time to the best of our knowledge,joint constraints on cosmological parameters using the future multi-band GW standard siren *** simulate the multi-band GW standard sirens based on the SKA-era pulsar timing array(PTA),Taiji observatory,and Cosmic Explorer(CE)to perform cosmological *** theΛCDM model,we find that the joint PTA+Taiji+CE data could provide a tight constraint on the Hubble constant with a 0.5%***,PTA+Taiji+CE could break the cosmological parameter degeneracies generated by CMB,especially in the dynamical dark energy *** combining the PTA+Taiji+CE data with the CMB data,the constraint precisions of?_(m)and H_(0)are 1.0%and 0.3%,respectively,meeting the standard of precision *** joint CMB+PTA+Taiji+CE data giveσ(_(w))=0.028 in the wCDM model andσ(w_(0))=0.11 andσ(w_(a))=0.32 in the w_(0)w_(a)CDM model,which are comparable with or close to the latest constraint results by CMB+BAO+*** conclusion,the future multi-band GW observations are expected to be used for exploring the nature of dark energy and measuring the Hubble constant.

The universal crossover from thermodynamics and dynamics of supercritical RN-AdS black hole

We study the properties of supercritical Reissner-Nordström Anti-de Sitter (RN-AdS) black holes in the extended phase space with the pressure defines as the cosmological constant. Supercritical black holes exist in the region where both temperature and pressure exceed the critical point, known as the supercritical region. The conventional view states that black holes in this regime are indistinguishable between large and small phases. However, recent research reveals that the supercritical regime exhibits universal gas-like and liquid-like phase separation, which shed light on the study on the supercritical region of RN-AdS black holes in the extended phase space. In this work, we calculate the thermodynamic potential and quasinormal modes (QNMs) of RN-AdS black holes, and identify transition curves between two different states in supercritical region using thermodynamic and dynamic methods. On one hand, we find the thermodynamic crossover curve (Widom line) by defining the scaled variance Ω (a higher-order derivative of Gibbs free energy). On the other hand, we identify the dynamic crossover curve (Frenkel line) by analyzing transitions between distinct QNM decay modes. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A model combining kernel principal component analysis(KPCA)and Xtreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost)was introduced for forecasting the final oxygen content of electroslag *** was employed to reduce the dimensionality of the factors influencing the endpoint oxygen content and to eliminate any existing correlations among these *** resulting principal components were then utilized as input variables for the XGBoost prediction *** KPCA-XGBoost model was trained and proven using data obtained from *** model structure was adapted,and hyperparameters were optimized using grid search *** model performance of the KPCA-XGBoost model is compared with five machine learning models,including the support vector regression *** findings demonstrated that the KPCA-XGBoost model exhibited the highest level of prediction accuracy,indicating that the incorporation of KPCA significantly enhanced the regression prediction performance of the *** accuracy of the KPCA-XGBoost model was 82.4%,97.1%,and 100%at errors of±1.5×10^(-6),±2.0×10^(-6),and±3×10^(-6)for oxygen content,respectively.

Phenylacetic acid(PAA)is a primary raw material for illegal Methamphetamine(MATM)synthesis under the strong precursor chemicals supervisions of safrole and ***,trace detection of PAA at ultra-low concentration is a strategic technique and an urgent issue in the field of drug *** this paper,trace determination of PAA at sub-nmol-L-1 concentration level is achieved by hydrogen bond adsorption and electrochemical catalysis through the prepared aminated SiO_(2)nanoparticles(SiO_(2)-NH_(2) NPs)and MoS_(2) nanosheets(NSs)modified glassy carbon electrode(GCE).The prepared MoS_(2) NS s/SiO_(2)-NH_(2) NPs modified electrode represents a detecting limit of 0.0989 nmol·L^(-1)and an obvious increasing linear range before the concentration increasement up to 60 nmol·L^(-1)in square wave voltammetry(SWV)responses of *** SWV response of the modified electrode to PAA in the concentration range within 100 nmol·L^(-1)is higher than phenol,acetic acid(HOAc)and benzoic Acid(BEN).This electrochemical method for trace detection of PAA in aqueous solution with desired performance provides a feasible scheme for the detection of other drugs and aromatic precursor chemicals.

This paper studies the tracking control problem of the T-S fuzzy switched systems with the α-dissipativity and the bumpless transfer *** on the reference system,the fuzzy tracking controller will be designed by using the parallel distributed compensation *** sufficient conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities are obtained to guarantee the adissipative tracking bumpless transfer performance via the co-design of the bumpless transfer controller and the state-dependent switching law,even if the tracking problem of each fuzzy subsystems is not ***,an example is given to validate the effectiveness of the results.
