Energy decision making of steel company based on energy management system

With the promotion of the concept of smart city, every industry in the city needs to become more intelligent. As a pillar industry of economic development, the energy-intensive steel plant has brought challenges to the city environment. Factories in cities also need to be more intelligent. The application of artificial intelligence and data technology has become one of the important meaning to improve the management level of steel plant and to improve the city environment. As a modern management tool, energy management system provides a new way of intelligent management for iron and steel companies. The energy management system can be used to monitor the energy consumption in real time, master the energy consumption of the company and allocate the energy consumption of the company. So we can get better production plan, reduce the energy consumption of the company, and improve the competitiveness of the company. Two functions, energy allocation and energy consumption prediction, are developed in the energy management system. According to the formula of iron balance and the relationship between iron and energy consumption in each production unit, the mathematical model of energy allocation is established and applied in the energy management system. Another one of the functions of the energy management system is to predict the energy consumption of steel companies with maximum prediction error is about 5%, which provides the basis for the auxiliary decision-making of energy management. The forecasted results can be used to better understand the trend of energy consumption of the whole company, so as to do a good decision of energy reserve and reduce unnecessary waste.

Planning in the cold rolling is an increasingly important vital aspect in steel industry. In this study, we investigate a cold rolling planning problem derived from a steel company, which is characterized by multi-item considerations with sequence-dependent setups in a single period. To tackle this problem, we introduce a bi-objective modified lot-sizing model, aiming at minimizing both the capacity waste and setup cost. A dedicated multi-objective evolutionary algorithm is proposed to solve this problem. The experiment results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in achieving near-optimal solutions within a reasonable time, which can facilitate reductions in both production costs and time. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

An optical fiber triethylamine (TEA) gas sensor based on a hollow malposition structure (HMS) platform with CQDs@BiOBr gas-sensing layer is proposed. The CQDs@BiOBr gas-sensing material is coated onto the surface of the hollow core fiber (HCF) using a dip-coating method. The misaligned structure is designed to guide light transmission within the cladding of the HCF and excite the evanescent field. The heterojunction formed between CQDs and BiOBr enhances the separation efficiency of electron-hole pairs, improving the transfer speed of charge carriers during the gas adsorption process. Experimental results show that the sensitivity of sensor at room temperature is 3.53 pm/ppm, which is 2.43 times higher compared to a sensor coated with BiOBr alone. Additionally, the response and recovery times of sensor are 12 s and 36 s, respectively, with a limit of detection (LOD) of 5.67 ppm. DFT calculations provide insight into the electronic transfer pathways and electron cloud distribution during the gas adsorption process, further validating the crucial role of the CQDs@BiOBr heterojunction in enhancing gas-sensing performance. The proposed optical fiber TEA gas sensor shows significant potential for applications in environmental monitoring and industrial safety.

Constraints on active and sterile neutrinos in an interacting dark energy cosmology

We investigate the impacts of dark energy on constraining massive(active/sterile)neutrinos in interacting dark energy(IDE)models by using the current *** employ two typical IDE models,the interacting w cold dark matter(IwCDM)model and the interacting holographic dark energy(IHDE)model,to make an *** avoid large-scale instability,we use the parameterized post-Friedmann approach to calculate the cosmological perturbations in the IDE *** cosmological observational data used in this work include the Planck cosmic microwave background(CMB)anisotropies data,the baryon acoustic oscillation data,the type Ia supernovae data,the direct measurement of the Hubble constant,the weak lensing data,the redshift-space distortion data,and the CMB lensing *** find that the dark energy properties could influence the constraint limits of active neutrino mass and sterile neutrino parameters in the IDE *** also find that the dark energy properties could influence the constraints on the coupling strength parameterβ,and a positive coupling constant,β>0,can be detected at the 2.5σstatistical significance for the IHDE+νs model by using the all-data *** addition,we also discuss the"Hubble tension"issue in these *** find that the H0 tension can be effectively relieved by considering massive sterile neutrinos,and in particular in the IHDE+νsmodel the H0 tension can be reduced to be at the 1.28σlevel.

In this paper, we investigate the observational constraints on the scenario of vacuum energy interacting with cold dark *** consider eight typical interaction forms in such an interacting vacuum energy scenario. The observational data used in this work to constrain these models include the JLA sample of type Ia supernovae observation, the Planck 2015 distance priors data of cosmic microwave background anisotropies observation, the baryon acoustic oscillations data, and the Hubble constant direct measurement. We find that the current observational data almost equally favor these interacting vacuum energy models. We also find that for all these models of vacuum energy interacting with cold dark matter the case of no interaction is actually well consistent with the current observational data within 1σ range.

We propose a dynamic multi-objective optimization algorithm for visualizing and clustering topological features of decision space variables. It maps all the obtained historical optimal solutions to the two-dimensional space through t-SNE, clusters the points, and selects a corresponding proportion of individuals from different clusters to form a new population. Throughout the search process, the topological characteristics of the reduced historical optimal solutions can be visually displayed. We conducted a preliminary experimental analysis on the standard test function to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

The future ground- and space-based gravitational wave (GW) detectors offer unprecedented opportunities to test general relativity (GR) with greater precision. In this work, we investigate the capability of future ground-based GW detectors, the Einstein Telescope (ET) and the Cosmic Explorer (CE), and space-based GW detectors, LISA, Taiji, and TianQin, for constraining parity and Lorentz violations in gravity. We inject several typical GW signals from compact binary systems into GW detectors and perform Bayesian inferences with the modified waveforms with parity and Lorentz-violating effects. These effects are modeled in the amplitude and phase corrections to the GW waveforms with their frequency-dependence described by factors βν, βμ, βν¯, and βμ¯. Our results show that the combined observations of ET and CE will impose significantly tighter bounds on the energy scale of parity and Lorentz violations (MPV and MLV) compared to those given by LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA (LVK) detectors. For cases with positive values of βν, βμ, βν¯, and βμ¯, the constraints on MPV and MLV from ground-based detectors are tighter than those from the space-based detectors. For the case of βμ=−1 space-based GW detectors provide constraints on MPV that are better than current LVK observations and comparable to those from ET and CE. Additionally, space-based detectors exhibit superior sensitivity in constraining MLV for βμ¯=−2 case, which is approximately 3 orders of magnitude tighter than those from ground-based GW detectors. This scenario also enables bounds on the graviton mass at mg≲10−35 GeV. These findings highlight the promising role of future GW observatories in probing fundamental physics beyond GR.

In this paper, we propose a symmetry parallel search strategy that can be applied to permutation-related combinatorial optimization problems. The proposed symmetry parallel search strategy considers the parity of the permutations and decomposes the solution space into two independent regions, i.e., even and odd permutations. Then, we analyze the relations between the parity of permutations and two representative neighborhood search operators. This allows trajectory-based metaheuristics to keep searching on even or odd permutations without breaking the utility of search operators. For experiments, we take the quadratic assignment problem and two classical trajectory-based metaheuristics as a case study. Experimental results show that the trajectory-based metaheuristics embedded with the symmetry parallel search strategy can achieve a competitive performance. © 2024 held by the owner/author(s).

Prospects for weighing neutrinos in interacting dark energy models using joint observations of gravitational waves andγ-ray bursts

Cosmological observations can be used to weigh neutrinos,but this method is model-dependent,with results relying on the cosmological model *** we consider interactions between dark energy and dark matter,the neutrino mass constraints differ from those derived under the standard *** the contrary,gravitational wave(GW)standard siren observations can measure absolute cosmological distances,helping to break parameter degeneracies inherent in traditional cosmological observations,thereby improving constraints on neutrino *** paper examines the constraints on neutrino mass within interacting dark energy(IDE)models and explores how future GW standard siren observations could enhance these *** multi-messenger GW observations,we consider the joint observations of binary neutron star mergers by third-generation ground-based GW detectors and shortγ-ray burst observations by missions similar to the THESEUS satellite *** current cosmological observations(CMB+BAO+SN),we obtain an upper limit on the neutrino mass in the IDE models of 0.15(or 0.16)*** the inclusion of GW data,the upper limit on the neutrino mass improves to 0.14 *** indicates that in the context of IDE models,the improvement in neutrino mass constraints from GW observations is relatively ***,GW observations significantly enhance the constraints on other cosmological parameters,such as matter density parameter,the Hubble constant,and coupling strength between dark energy and dark matter.

The matching of crowdsourced drivers and delivery tasks is an important decision problem for the crowdsourced delivery platform. Although the existence of uncertainty of transportation duration in logistics delivery has been verified, uncertain transportation duration has not been considered in previous studies on the matching of crowdsourced drivers and delivery tasks. This would lead to the limitation that the results of the existing methods cannot meet the time requirements of senders. In this case, the profit and customer satisfaction of the crowdsourced delivery platform would decrease. In this paper, a model-based rolling matching strategy to match crowdsourced drivers and delivery tasks considering uncertain transportation duration is proposed. In addition, it is assumed that the crowdsourced delivery platform also has some dedicated drivers to implement the delivery tasks that cannot be implemented by crowdsourced drivers. First, a simpler problem is described, which is to match crowdsourced drivers and delivery tasks considering uncertain transportation duration in a static data environment. Then, a model is proposed to solve the above problem. Based on the proposed model, this paper further proposes a rolling procedure to solve the problem in a data refreshing environment. Moreover, a heuristic algorithm is presented for combining multiple delivery tasks to solve the one-to-many matching. Finally, a case study and comparison are given to illustrate the validity and the contribution of the proposed matching strategy. The results show that the proposed matching strategy has a distinct advantage of cost savings. © National Academy of Sciences: Transportation Research Board 2020.
