Transformer-based multi-level attention integration network for video saliency prediction

Most existing models for video saliency prediction heavily rely on 3D convolutional operations to extract spatio-temporal features. However, it is worth noting that 3D convolution produces a local receptive field, which may struggle to capture long-range spatio-temporal dependencies effectively. To compensate for such shortage, this paper introduces a novel approach called the Transformer-based Multi-level Attention Integration Network (TMAI-Net) for video saliency prediction. TMAI-Net is designed as a two-stream encoder-decoder model, carefully integrating multi-level features of semantic information. Our model incorporates a Multi-level Interactive Attention(MLIA) module and a Transformer, both implemented based on self-attention mechanism, which are placed at different levels of the model to capture long-range spatio-temporal feature dependencies. Additionally, our model operates on input video frames and attentional patches, allowing the Transformer module to capture structural similarities between related objects in global features and attention features. This, in turn, enables the model to allocate increased attention to salient areas. A prevailing belief in attack and defense community is that the higher flatness of adversarial examples enables their better cross-model transferability, leading to a growing interest in employing sharpness-aware minimization and its variants. However, the theoretical relationship between the transferability of adversarial examples and their flatness has not been well established, making the belief questionable. To bridge this gap, we embark on a theoretical investigation and, for the first time, derive a theoretical bound for the transferability of adversarial examples with few practical assumptions. Our analysis challenges this belief by demonstrating that the increased flatness of adversarial examples does not necessarily guarantee improved transferability. Moreover, building upon the theoretical analysis, we propose TPA, a Theoretically Provable Attack that optimizes a surrogate of the derived bound to craft adversarial examples. Extensive experiments across widely used benchmark datasets and various real-world applications show that TPA can craft more transferable adversarial examples compared to state-of-the-art baselines. We hope that these results can recalibrate preconceived impressions within the community and facilitate the development of stronger adversarial attack and defense mechanisms. In order to solve the problems such as high maintenance cost and difficult spare parts optimization of the complex electronic information system, considering advantages of the generalized stochastic Petri Net (GSPN) in characterization and analysis of dynamic change process of complex system, the process and method of spare parts optimization based on Monte Carlo simulation are studied to achieve the best balance between the rate of mission success and the cost of maintenance. © 2025 SPIE.

In computer image processing, optical flow is a classic task used to track the motion of pixels. In the field of robotics, methods like SLAM extensively employ sparse optical flow as a substitute for time-consuming feature point matching methods, enabling rapid and stable camera tracking. However, the widespread use of fisheye cameras introduces distortion issues in practical applications. Traditional sparse optical flow struggles to accurately track pixel positions in such scenarios, affecting the precision of camera pose tracking. Therefore, we introduce a sparse optical flow method designed for fisheye camera models, which correctly utilizes prior information obtained during camera tracking to enhance the accuracy of sparse optical flow. Finally, we propose a scheme for constructing a semi-distortion lookup table to accelerate distortion operations and reduce memory requirements. We conducted extensive testing on simulated datasets with various camera motion scenarios, and the experimental results demonstrate that our method outperforms OpenCV in terms of accuracy and versatility. © 2023 IEEE.

In cognitive radio network, considering that secondary user (SU) packets waiting in the cache will stop waiting and exit the system because of impatience, a dynamic stop-adjustable control mechanism is proposed in a single-channel network environment where impatient SU packets leave the system in advance. The SU packets in the cache are divided into retry SU packets and newly arrived SU packets, assuming that only the newly arrived SU packets can stop and leave the system because of impatience. A discrete-time queueing model is established, a three-dimensional Markov chain is constructed, and SU packets' performance indicators are derived. Numerical experiments are carried out to verify the validity of the presented stop-adjustable control strategy. By comparing with the stopadjustable control mechanism for unclassified SU packets, it is found that the proposed stop-adjustable control mechanism for classified SU packets can effectively improve SU packets' performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Solar insecticidal lamps(SIL) can effectively control pests and reduce the use of pesticides. Combining SIL and Internet of Things(IoT) has formed a new type of agricultural IoT,known as SIL-IoT, which can improve the effectiveness of migratory phototropic pest control. However, since the SIL is connected to the Internet, it is vulnerable to various security *** issues can lead to serious consequences, such as tampering with the parameters of SIL, illegally starting and stopping SIL,etc. In this paper, we describe the overall security requirements of SIL-IoT and present an extensive survey of security and privacy solutions for SIL-IoT. We investigate the background and logical architecture of SIL-IoT, discuss SIL-IoT security scenarios, and analyze potential attacks. Starting from the security requirements of SIL-IoT we divide them into six categories, namely privacy, authentication, confidentiality, access control, availability,and integrity. Next, we describe the SIL-IoT privacy and security solutions, as well as the blockchain-based solutions. Based on the current survey, we finally discuss the challenges and future research directions of SIL-IoT.

It is crucial to predict the outputs of a thickening system,including the underflow concentration(UC)and mud pressure,for optimal control of the *** proliferation of industrial sensors and the availability of thickening-system data make this ***,the unique properties of thickening systems,such as the non-linearities,long-time delays,partially observed data,and continuous time evolution pose challenges on building data-driven predictive *** address the above challenges,we establish an integrated,deep-learning,continuous time network structure that consists of a sequential encoder,a state decoder,and a derivative module to learn the deterministic state space model from thickening *** a case study,we examine our methods with a tailing thickener manufactured by the FLSmidth installed with massive sensors and obtain extensive experimental *** results demonstrate that the proposed continuous-time model with the sequential encoder achieves better prediction performances than the existing discrete-time models and reduces the negative effects from long time delays by extracting features from historical system *** proposed method also demonstrates outstanding performances for both short and long term prediction tasks with the two proposed derivative types.

The interfaces between in-situ Al3Ti particles and magnesium(Mg)matrix are crucial role in highperformance titanium(Ti)reinforced AZ31 ***,the interfaces between Al3Ti particles and the Mg matrix are fabricated and investigated using advanced characterization tools and first-principles *** orientation relationship(OR)and atomic interface structure between the Al_(3)Ti particles and matrix are characterized using a high-resolution transmission electron *** OR is determined to be(1010)Mg//(001)Al3Ti;[1213]Mg//[100]*** on the characterized OR,the interface properties(including atomic structure,work of adhesion,interface energy,and fracture mechanism)are investigated using first-principles *** relaxed interface structure indicates that the TiAl-terminated bridge site configurations(MT1)and hollow site configurations(HCP1)are unstable and would convert into other bridge site configurations(MT).Furthermore,the work of adhesion and interface energy suggests that Al-terminated hollow site configurations(HCP)and bridge site configurations(MT)are more stable than other *** addition,the calculations of work of fracture show that fracture of the interfaces with Al-MT1,Al-HCP,and TiAl-MT configurations may initiate from bulk Mg *** findings may help to understand and tailor the deformation mechanisms and mechanical properties of Ti-reinforced Mg alloys.

Chirp-free hundred-picosecond pulse fiber laser based on carbon nanotubes mode-locker

We demonstrate a narrow bandwidth passively erbium-doped mode-locked fiber laser based on single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs). The center wavelength is 1546.61 nm. The strong filtering effect and low saturable absorber (SA) modulation depth provide advantages for a long pulse duration of 323 ps. An overall spectral bandwidth of 1.3 GHz (0.01 nm) is measured by the optical heterodyne method, representing the narrowest spectral width based on SWCNT under a single filter structure. The obtained spectral width is very close to the transform-limited bandwidth of 8 pm, indicating that the pulse is chirp-free. Meanwhile, the generation of beat signals reveals the strong coherence between pulses. The repetition frequency of the laser is 7.8 MHz, and the number of longitudinal mode locks is only 166, which is the minimum number of longitudinal mode-locking in passively mode-locked laser based on material SA. At the same time, numerical simulations further support our experimental results and reveal the pulse evolution, providing evidence that SA and filter are the key factors in the generation of chirp-free long pulse. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group under the terms of the Optica Open Access Publishing Agreement.
