The increase in irrigated crop areas lead to the requirements for freshwater will in fact rise significantly. Considering this kind of need, this study aims to develop a low cost irrigation system that provide the monitoring and control of irrigated agriculture using Cloud Computing, Internet of Things(IoT) to improve the efficiency of water use in irrigated agriculture and reduce the cost of the solution. In this paper, an irrigation system driven by Internet of Things and cloud based web application is developed. The web application uses a multi-tenant web framework (MWF) that can provide cost-effective services for scenarios where a large number of small tenants, only some of which are active at the same time. The system uses wireless sensor network(WSN) communication technology to integrate various sensors, solenoid valves and edge devices scattered throughout the crop area for monitoring and control. The solution significantly improves water use efficiency while reducing costs, making it attractive to users. © 2024 knowledge Systems Institute Graduate School. All rights reserved.

Transverse Velocity Field Measurements in High-resolution Solar Images Based on Deep Learning

We investigate decentralized online convex optimization (D-OCO), in which a set of local learners are required to minimize a sequence of global loss functions using_only local computations and communications. Previous studies have established O(n5/4ρ-1/2 √T) and O(n3/2ρ-1 log T) regret bounds for convex and strongly convex functions respectively, where n is the number of local learners, ρ -1/4 √T) and Õ(nρ-1/2 log T). The primary technique is to design an online accelerated gossip strategy that enjoys a faster average consensus among local learners. Furthermore, by carefully exploiting the spectral properties of a specific network topology, we enhance the lower bounds for convex and strongly convex functions to Ω(nρ-14 √T) and Ω(nρ-1/2), respectively. In the real world, due to various challenging lighting conditions such as low light, underexposure, and overexposure, captured images often exhibit undesirable appearances. Given that images with different exposure levels require different correction processes, a single neural network struggles to produce satisfactory results. We propose a coarse-to-fine exposure correction model for learning exposure consistency representation to address underexposure and overexposure issues. Building upon the bilateral activation mechanism, we introduce the Fourier transform to capture global information and fuse it with locally extracted information through convolution to achieve superior feature representation. Additionally, we employ Laplacian pyramids to decompose the source image into different spatial frequency bands, then the image details are enhanced by denoising high-frequency layers. Experimental results on the MSEC and SICE datasets demonstrate the superiority of our proposed method over current state-of-the-art approaches. Our code will be made available on GitHub. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper proposes a straw coverage rate calculation method based on single-image processing. This method uses a convolutional neural network (CNN) to extract features from images of fields covered with straw, classifies the image based on the features, and then uses an image binarization method to distinguish the straw and the land parts in the image and calculate the straw coverage rate based on the proportion of the straw part. This method has been applied in the land classification project in a particular region. These results demonstrate that this method effectively calculates straw coverage rates and can be used in other fields of precision agriculture. © 2023 IEEE.

In the application of RRT (Rapidly-exploring Random Trees) algorithm in obstacle avoidance path planning of redundant robot arms in high-dimensional space, the sampling area of random sampling points is large, the search time is long, the path twists and turns, and the redundant points are too many. In this paper, an efficient sampling RRT algorithm with adaptive step size and fast automatic convergence is proposed. Firstly, by adding the optimized gravity function, the step size of the extended tree is changed adaptively and the convergence is stronger. Secondly, the limited sampling of parent node area expansion is proposed to avoid useless point sampling and repeated point sampling, so that the utilization of sampling points is greatly improved. Finally, by changing the way of parent node reconnection and re-selection, the path tortuous degree is lower, the path planning cost and redundancy points are reduced, and MATLAB software is used to carry out the path planning simulation experiment. By comparing RRT, gravitational field RTT and RRT∗ algorithm, the improved RRT algorithm has significantly improved in distance, time and number of nodes. It has important engineering application value. © 2023 IEEE.

This article proposes an algorithm designed for autonomous quadrotors to capture target quadrotors in complex obstacle environments, enabling multiple pursuers to perform distributed capture while simultaneously avoiding obstacles and collisions. We first introduce a 3D obstacle space representation method based on safety-priority reachable region (SPRR) and implement real-time construction for general point cloud maps. Subsequently, leveraging SPRR, we employ an area minimization approach to ensure the effective capture of the evader within a limited time. The outcomes are then integrated into a MINCO-based trajectory planning framework to ensure their practical execution by real quadrotors. Relying on SPRR, the optimization problem is simplified and the solution efficiency is improved. In the scenario of simulating the dynamics of real quadrotors, we compare the proposed algorithm with state-of-the-art evasion and pursuit methods, validating its effectiveness and advancements. This work presents a practical solution for multi-quadrotor collaborative capture. © 2025 IEEE.

High-resolution landslide images are required for detailed geomorphological analysis in complex topographic environment with steep and vertical landslide *** study proposed a vertical route planning method for unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),which could achieve rapid image collection based on strictly calculated route *** effectiveness of this method was verified using a DJI Mavic 2 Pro,obtaining high-resolution landslide images within the Dongchuan debris flow gully,in the Xiaojiang River Basin,Dongchuan District,Yunnan,China.A three-dimensional(3D)model was constructed by the structure-from-motion and multi-view stereo(SfM-MVS).Micro-geomorphic features were analyzed through visual interpretation,geographic information system(GIS),spatial analysis,and mathematical statistics *** results demonstrated that the proposed method could obtain comprehensive vertical information on landslides while improving measurement *** 3D model was constructed using the vertically oriented flight route to achieve centimeter-level accuracy(horizontal accuracy better than 6 cm,elevation accuracy better than 3 cm,and relative accuracy better than 3.5 cm).The UAV technology could further help understand the micro internal spatial and structural characteristics of landslides,facilitating intuitive acquisition of surface *** slope of landslide clusters ranged from 36°to 72°,with the majority of the slope facing east and *** elevation levels were relatively consistent while middle to lower elevation levels gradually decreased from left to right with significant variations in lower elevation *** the rainy season,surface runoff was abundant,and steep topography exacerbated changes in surface *** route method is suitable for unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)landslide surveys in complex mountainous *** geomorphological analysis methods used will provide references for identifying and describing topographic
