With the advancement of the Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, there has been a rapid increase in the volume of IoT data, leading to escalating costs in storage, transmission, and analytics. The benefits of conventional data deduplication schemes are diminishing when applied to IoT data that is similar but distinct, necessitating the development of new approaches to accommodate these new scenarios. This paper proposes a deduplication and approximate analytics scheme for encrypted IoT data in fog-assisted cloud storage. The scheme is based on Generalized Deduplication (GD), Message Locked Encryption (MLE), Homomorphic Encryption (HE), and ciphertext conversion techniques. We employ GD to divide similar but distinct IoT data into bases and deviations, and perform deduplication on the encrypted base to achieve efficient storage while protecting data privacy. Additionally, we utilize Hybrid Homomorphic Encryption (HHE) techniques to convert the symmetric ciphertext of IoT data into homomorphic ciphertext, facilitating approximate analytics while ensuring privacy protection of IoT data in fog-assisted cloud storage and reducing the computation overhead on IoT devices. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

With the continuous development of education, online education is becoming more and more popular with learners because of its convenience. However, online education has the problem of insufficient interaction with students. Students still need to rely on the students themselves to judge the lack of knowledge in practice tasks, which will greatly affect the learning efficiency. In this paper, we propose a method based on formal concept analysis to analyze the knowledge that may not be mastered, and a method of intensive practice for students. First of all, establishing the formal context of student error test questions, construct the concept lattice to calculate the degree of importance of the knowledge concept that may not be mastered, judge the student's mastery of the knowledge concept, and give feedback. Secondly, construct the concept lattice of the unpractised test set, and calculate the similarity of the concept extension set that meets the threshold, find similar topics and push them, and realize targeted training for students who have not mastered the knowledge concepts. © 2022 SPIE.

Comprehensive recovery of W,V,and Ti from spent selective reduction catalysts

In this study,spent WO_(3)/V_(2)O_(5)-TiO_(2) catalysts used for selective catalytic reduction were treated by a hydrometallurgical process to comprehensively recover valuable metallic elements,such as W,V,and *** and Si impurities were preferentially removed by selective micro wave-assisted alkali leaching.W and V were leached by enhanced high-pressure leaching with efficiencies estimated at 95% and 81%.The leaching of W and V followed the nuclear shrinkage model controlled by the combination of product layer diffusion and interfacial chemical reaction.A synergistic extraction was applied to separate W and V using an extractant mixture of di-(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid P204 and the primary amine *** extraction efficiencies of V and W reached 86.5% and 6.3%,respectively,with a separation coefficient(V/W) of *** product was precipitated after extraction to yield ammonium paratung state(APT) and NH_(4)VO_(3).The TiO_(2)catalyst carrier residue meets commercial specifications for *** comprehensive recovery process with the characteristics of high-pressure leaching and synergistic extraction realizes the resourceful utilization of the spent catalysts.

SMRI: A New Method for siRNA Design for COVID-19 Therapy

First discovered in Wuhan, China, SARS-CoV-2 is a highly pathogenic novel coronavirus, which rapidly spreads globally and becomes a pandemic with no vaccine and limited distinctive clinical drugs available till March 13th, 2020. Ribonucleic Acid interference (RNAi) technology, a gene-silencing technology that targets mRNA, can cause damage to RNA viruses effectively. Here, we report a new efficient small interfering RNA (siRNA) design method named Simple Multiple Rules Intelligent Method (SMRI) to propose a new solution of the treatment of COVID-19. To be specific, this study proposes a new model named Base Preference and Thermodynamic Characteristic model (BPTC model) indicating the siRNA silencing efficiency and a new index named siRNA Extended Rules index (SER index) based on the BPTC model to screen high-efficiency siRNAs and filter out the siRNAs that are difficult to take effect or synthesize as a part of the SMRI method, which is more robust and efficient than the traditional statistical indicators under the same circumstances. Besides, to silence the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 to invade cells, this study further puts forward the SMRI method to search candidate high-efficiency siRNAs on SARS-CoV-2's S gene. This study is one of the early studies applying RNAi therapy to the COVID-19 treatment. According to the analysis, the average value of predicted interference efficiency of the candidate siRNAs designed by the SMRI method is comparable to that of the mainstream siRNA design algorithms. Moreover, the SMRI method ensures that the designed siRNAs have more than three base mismatches with human genes, thus avoiding silencing normal human genes. This is not considered by other mainstream methods, thereby the five candidate high-efficiency siRNAs which are easy to take effect or synthesize and much safer for human body are obtained by our SMRI method, which provide a new safer, small dosage and long efficacy solution for the treatment of COVID-19.

Cloud storage services have been used by most businesses and individual users. However, data loss, service interruptions and cyber attacks often lead to cloud storage services not being provided properly, and these incidents have caused financial losses to users. Second, traditional and single-cloud model disaster recovery services are no longer suitable for the current complex cloud storage systems. Therefore, a scheme to provide disaster recovery for cloud storage services in a multi-cloud storage environment is needed in real production. In this paper, we propose a disaster recovery scheme based on blockchain technology. The proposed scheme outlined in this study aims to address the issue of data availability within the cloud storage landscape. The proposed scheme achieves this goal by dividing data into hot and cold categories, verifying the integrity of copy data via blockchain technology, and utilizing blockchain networks to manage multi-cloud storage systems. Experimental findings demonstrate that the proposed scheme yields superior results in terms of computation and time overheads. © 2023 IEEE.

A motion recognition model for upper-limb rehabilitation exercises

In recent years, autonomous rehabilitation training systems with no or reduced supervision have attracted much research attentions. It is essential to automatically record and recognize motions so as to realize autonomous rehabilitation training. In this paper, we propose a motion recognition model of upper-limb rehabilitation exercise (MRURE) for post-strokes. Wearable inertial measurement unit (IMU) is used to collect motion data including tri-axial acceleration and angular velocity. A Mahalanobis distance-based dynamic time warping (MDDTW) technique and an improved metric learning algorithm Nearest Neighbors Constraint (NNC) are built to measure the similarity between motions. Then, the kNN classifier is adopted to classify motions based on Mahalanobis distance. In order to verify and validate the proposed motion recognition model, we conduct extensive experiments by motion samples collected from healthy participants. The overall recognition accuracy for five motions achieves 99.34%, which demonstrates that MRURE is effective for motion recognition of upper-limb exercises. The performance of MRURE is also compared with kNN based on Euclidean and Manhattan distance and the state-of-the-art motion recognition methods. Experiment results show that the accuracy of kNN based on Mahalanobis distance is better than that of Euclidean and Manhattan distance, and MRURE outperforms methods based on feature extraction. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

The implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the aerospace field is fairly new and various domains of the aerospace discipline are to be explored. This paper provides a general review on the upbringing and improvements of Artificial Intelligence as a pilar of the next generation of scientific research. Applications and developments brought by Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning to the aerospace industry generally, mainly the prediction of aerodynamic coefficients and design optimization using intricate neural networks replicating the process of the human brain. Scientific developments participated in improving major areas in the aerospace field. Due to the expensive and time-consuming process related to the complexity of the geometry and the precision of the results required, researchers integrated surrogate models based on Deep Learning in order to improve the calculation process of the aerodynamic coefficients. On one hand, this paper introduces and discusses the general architecture of several networks used to enhance the calculation ability of the machine, while presenting the process of each work along with recounting the different methods employed. On the other hand, a discussion regarding the challenges presented with utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics while assessing and comparing the results brought by surrogate models based on efficiency and time consumption is also tackled. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Cross-modal hashing has attracted great interest in the past decades. Due to the traditional hashing retrieval model requiring hand-crafted feature extraction, much research on the end-to-end deep hashing models has been explored. However, this training process of deep models is complex and needs a large number of samples. To address the above issues, we propose a lightweight hashing retrieval network with the pre-trained CLIP model, which is called CLIP-Hash. It can obtain better hash features via the pre-training CLIP model and provide a lightweight fine-tune model which is easily trained and only few training samples are required. First, we obtain the powerful feature representations by the visual and textual encodes. Then, we propose a simple hash encoding module, which is a lightweight network and only few parameters are needed to be trained. With the proposed hash encoding module, we can obtain efficient binary hash codes that can align the images and texts. We conduct experiments on MIRFlickr and NUS-WIDE two benchmark datasets. The results show that the proposed simple method can outperform the SOTA hashing methods. © 2023 IEEE.

With the excessive consumption of fossil energy and the growing environmental pollution caused by its combustion, the gas turbine system (GTS) plays a key role in distributed renewable energy fields due to its versatility, efficiency and controllability. This paper focuses on the adaptive constraint regulation problem for the GTS with time-varying load disturbance, thereby facilitating exact speed tracking to regulate the fuel flow for the turbine under variable load conditions. Therein, a residual transformation dynamics based on the performance function are established for triggering the preset-time residual convergence and output performance constraints. Then, an adaptive constraint controller is developed to ensure the desired regulation level of the GTS. Simulation results illustrate that the proposed strategy can mitigate the load disturbance effect and guarantee the GTS performance constraints. © 2024 IEEE.

Ancient Character Recognition: A Novel Image dataset of Shui Manuscript Characters and Classification Model

Shui manuscripts are part of the national intangible cultural heritage of China. Owing to the particularity of text reading, the level of informatization and intelligence in the protection of Shui manuscript culture is not adequate. To address this issue, this study created Shuishu＿C, the largest image dataset of Shui manuscript characters that has been reported. Furthermore, after extensive experimental validation, we proposed ShuiNet-A,a lightweight artificial neural network model based on the attention mechanism, which combines channel and spatial dimensions to extract key features and finally recognize Shui manuscript characters. The effectiveness and stability of ShuiNet-A were verified through multiple sets of experiments. Our results showed that, on the Shui manuscript dataset with 113 categories, the accuracy of ShuiN et-A was 99.8%, which is 1.5% higher than those of similar studies. The proposed model could contribute to the classification accuracy and protection of ancient Shui manuscript characters.
