Urea is a major end product of nitrogen catabolism,serving as an osmolyte to regulate osmotic stress in fish exposed to varying water *** has been well known that urea transporters(UTs)facilitate the rapid movement of urea across cell ***,researches on ut genes were predominantly focused on elasmobranchs and early developmental stages of *** this investigation,a total of three ut genes were identified in spotted sea ***,homology,and syntenic analyses were conducted to validate the annotation and assess the evolutionary relationships among ut *** ut-a and ut-b genes have retained their evolutionary stability,demonstrating a significant level of homology between *** gain deeper insights into the evolution of ut genes in spotted sea bass,we performed selective pressure analysis using site,branch,and branch-site *** results suggested that positive selection likely played a significant role in shaping the evolution of the ut gene ***,tissue-specific expression analyses revealed high expression levels of ut genes in osmoregulatory tissues such as the gill and ***,all three ut genes exhibited salinity-related expression patterns in gill and kidney tissues during both seawater-to-freshwater(SF)and freshwater-to-seawater(FS)*** situ hybridization results demonstrated the localization of both ut-a and ut-c mRNAs on the gill lamellae and adjacent gill filament *** summary,our study establishes a solid foundation for future research elucidating the evolutionary relationships and functional significance of ut genes during salinity acclimation in spotted sea bass and other teleost species.

On December 18,2023,a Mw6.1 earthquake struck Jishishan County,Gansu Province,china,marking the most significant earthquake in the northeastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau since *** its proximate to the Loess Plateau,which is extremely susceptible to geohazards,this earthquake raises awareness about the seismic hazard of several mega-cities such as Xi'an in Northwest *** this paper,we inferred that the rupture occurred on an east-dipping backthrust,resulting from the regional E-W contraction tectonic *** dynamic model through teleseismic waves and static model through radar displacement measurements together reveal a unilateral,along-strike rupture,encountering a slip barrier at one side of the main slip patch causing a cluster of *** also identified a high-dip structure,which is an early-stage backthrust fault whose dip becomes increasingly high due to regional compressional *** from the loaded fault segments,particularly on the fault linkage,which necessitate continuous examination,a detailed seismic hazard assessment of the west Qinling and Daotanghe-Linxia fault system identifies a seismic gap between Weiyuan and Dingxi with the potential for a Mw7.5 ***,these findings provide valuable insights into the seismic behavior of the seismogenic fault as well as guidance on hazard mitigation in its surrounding fault systems.

Spatiotemporal deformation analysis of glaciers and surrounding landscapes in the Shishapangma region using InSAR techniques

Glacier dynamics in the Himalayan midlatitudes,particularly in regions like the Shishapangma,are not yet fully understood,especially the localized topographic and climatic impacts on glacier *** study analyzes the spatiotemporal characteristics of glacier surface deformation in the Shishapangma region using the Small Baseline Subset(SBAS)Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar(In SAR)*** analysis reveals an average deformation rate of-4.02±17.65 mm/yr across the entire study area,with glacier regions exhibiting significantly higher rates of uplift(16.87±13.20 mm/yr)and subsidence(20.11±14.55 mm/yr)compared to non-glacier *** identifies significant surface lowering on the mountain flanks and localized uplift in certain catchments,emphasizing the higher deformation rates in glacial areas compared to non-glacial *** found a strong positive correlation between temperature and cumulative deformation(correlation coefficient of 0.63),particularly in glacier areas(0.82).The research highlights the role of temperature as the primary driver of glacier wastage,particularly at lower elevations,with strong correlations found between temperature and cumulative *** also indicates the complex interactions between topographic features,notably,slope gradient,which shows a positive correlation with subsidence rates,especially for slopes below 35°.South-,southwest-,and west-facing slopes exhibit significant uplift,while north-,northeast-,and east-facing slopes predominantly ***,we identified transition zones between debris-covered glaciers and clean ice as areas of most intense deformation,with average rates exceeding 30 mm/yr,highlighting these as potential high-risk zones for *** study comprehensively analyzes the deformation characteristics in both glacier and non-glacier areas in the Shishapangma region,revealing the complex interplay of topographic,climatic,and hydrological factors influencing glacier dynamic

Automatic code summarization aims to generate concise natural language descriptions (summary) for source code, which can free software developers from the heavy burden of manual commenting and software maintenance. Existing methods focus on learning a direct mapping from pure code to summaries, overlooking the significant heterogeneity gap between code and summary. Moreover, existing methods lack a human-like re-check process to evaluate whether the generated summaries match well with the code. To address these two limitations, we introduce RBCoSum, a novel framework that incorporates the generated Chain Of Comments (COC) as auxiliary intermediate information for the model to bridge the gap between code and summaries. Also, we propose a rethinking process where a learned ranker trained on our constructed ranking dataset scores the extent of matching between the generated summary and the code, selecting the highest-scoring summary to achieve a re-check process. We conduct extensive experiments to evaluate our approach and compare it with other automatic code summarization models as well as multiple code Large Language Models (LLMs). The experimental results show that RBCoSum is effective and outperforms baselines by a large margin. The human evaluation also proves the summaries generated with RBCoSum are more natural, informative, useful, and truthful. © 2025 Association for Computational Linguistics.

A multi-strategy enhanced circle search algorithm based on adaptive evolutionary framework and its application in image segmentation

Circle search algorithm (CSA) is a meta-heuristic optimization algorithm based on the characteristics of circle geometry. In order to overcome the shortcomings of the original CSA in the optimization process, such as low convergence accuracy and easily falling into local optimal, this paper proposed a multi-strategy enhanced CSA named APRDCSA. Firstly, a mutation strategy guided by multiple superior solutions is proposed, which increases the diversity of the population and the global exploration ability of the algorithm. Secondly, random replacement strategy is introduced in the late iteration to avoid falling into local optima. Finally, a population evolution state assessment framework with adaptive parameter (APSE) based on improvement rate is proposed to improve the probability of finding a better solution. A series of comparative experiments on IEEE CEC 2014 demonstrate the superior convergence speed and solution quality of APRDCSA, as well as its enhanced reliability in avoiding local optima. In addition, to further illustrate the improved performance of APRDCSA and its ability to solve practical applications, we apply it to the multi-thresholding image segmentation (MIS) method based on non-local mean two-dimensional histogram and Kapur entropy. Distributed Leader-Following Formation Control of Networked Mobile Robots via Global Orientation Estimation

This article proposes a novel distributed leader-following formation control strategy for multiple networked mobile robots, utilizing the relative position measurements among robots. In particular, the leader is assumed to have the same kinematics as the followers and all the robots do not rely on orientation measurements. Firstly, a global orientation estimation law is proposed in the sense that the followers' orientation information is estimated in the leader's reference frame, only based on the leader's orientation estimation and relative bearing information. Secondly, since the leader is not directly connected to all the followers, a new distributed state observer is designed for each follower to estimate the leader's states. Especially, the designed observer not only removes the algebraic loops issue but also eliminates the requirement for the leader's acceleration information. Furthermore, a distributed formation control law is proposed by incorporating the previous estimations, and it is proved that the closed-loop system consisting of the observer and controller is asymptotically stable. Finally, simulation results validate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method. © 2013 IEEE.

BESTAnP: Bi-Step Efficient and Statistically Optimal Estimator for Acoustic-n-Point Problem

We consider the acoustic-n-point (AnP) problem, which estimates the pose of a 2D forward-looking sonar (FLS) according to n 3D-2D point correspondences. We explore the nature of the measured partial spherical coordinates and reveal their inherent relationships to translation and orientation. Based on this, we propose a bi-step efficient and statistically optimal AnP (BESTAnP) algorithm that decouples the estimation of translation and orientation. Specifically, in the first step, the translation estimation is formulated as the range-based localization problem based on distance-only measurements. In the second step, the rotation is estimated via eigendecomposition based on azimuth-only measurements and the estimated translation. BESTAnP is the first AnP algorithm that gives a closed-form solution for the full 6 °-of-freedom (DoF) pose. In addition, we conduct bias elimination for BESTAnP such that it owns the statistical property of consistency. Through simulation and real-world experiments, we demonstrate that compared with the state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods, BESTAnP is over ten times faster and features real-time capacity in resource-constrained platforms while exhibiting comparable accuracy. Moreover, we embed BESTAnP into a single sonar-based odometry which shows its effectiveness for trajectory estimation. © 2016 IEEE.
