Autonomous aerial vehicles (AAVs) have gained considerable attention as a platform for establishing aerial wireless networks and communications. However, the Line of Sight (LoS) dominance in air-to-ground (A2G) communications often leads to significant interference with terrestrial networks, reducing communication efficiency among terrestrial terminals. This article explores a novel uplink interference mitigation approach based on the collaborative beamforming (CB) method in multi-AAV network systems. Specifically, the AAV swarm forms an AAV-enabled virtual antenna array (VAA) to achieve the transmissions of gathered data to multiple base stations (BSs) for data backup and distributed processing. However, there is a tradeoff tradeoff between the effectiveness of CB-based interference mitigation and the energy conservation of AAVs. Thus, by optimizing the excitation current weights and hover position of AAVs as well as the sequence of data transmission to various BSs, we formulate an uplink interference mitigation multiobjective optimization problem (MOOP) to decrease interference affection, enhance transmission efficiency, and improve energy efficiency, simultaneously. In response to the computational demands of the formulated problem, we introduce an evolutionary computation method, namely chaotic nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II (CNSGA-II) with multiple improved operators. The proposed CNSGA-II efficiently addresses the formulated MOOP, outperforming several other comparative algorithms, as evidenced by the outcomes of the simulations. Moreover, the proposed CB-based uplink interference mitigation approach can significantly reduce the interference caused by AAVs to nonreceiving BSs. © 2014 IEEE.

An expansion of Internet of Things (IoTs) has led to significant challenges in wireless data harvesting, dissemination, and energy management due to the massive volumes of data generated by IoT devices. These challenges are exacerbated by data redundancy arising from spatial and temporal correlations. To address these issues, this paper proposes a novel data-driven collaborative beamforming (CB)-based communication framework for IoT networks. Specifically, the framework integrates CB with an overlap-based multi-hop routing protocol (OMRP) to enhance data transmission efficiency while mitigating energy consumption and addressing hot spot issues in remotely deployed IoT networks. Based on the data aggregation to a specific node by OMRP, we formulate a node selection problem for the CB stage, with the objective of optimizing uplink transmission energy consumption. Given the complexity of the problem, we introduce a softmax-based proximal policy optimization with long-short-term memory (SoftPPO-LSTM) algorithm to intelligently select CB nodes for improving transmission efficiency. Simulation results show that the proposed OMRP improves network lifetime by 17% compared to benchmark routing protocols, while the SoftPPO-LSTM method for CB node selection achieves an 8.3% increase in throughput over benchmark algorithms. Face Reconstruction-Based Generalized Deepfake Detection Model with Residual Outlook Attention

With the continuous development of deep counterfeiting technology, the information security in our daily life is under serious threat. While existing face forgery detection methods exhibit impressive accuracy when applied to datasets such as FaceForensics++ and Celeb-DF, they falter significantly when confronted with out-of-domain scenarios. This causes specialization of learned representations to known forgery patterns presented in the training set, rendering it difficult to detect forgeries with unknown patterns. To address this challenge, we propose a novel end-to-end Face Reconstruction-Based Generalized Deepfake Detection (FRG2D) model with Residual Outlook Attention (ROA), which emphasizes the robust visual representations of genuine faces and discerns the subtle differences between authentic and manipulated facial images. Our methodology entails reconstructing authentic face images using an encoder-decoder architecture based on U-net, facilitating a deeper understanding of disparities between genuine and manipulated facial images. Furthermore, we integrate the convolutional block attention module (CBAM) and channel attention block (CAB) to selectively focus the network's attention on salient features within real face images. Furthermore, we employ ROA to guide the network's focus towards precise features within manipulated facial images. Simultaneously, the computed reconstruction differences obtained through ROA serves as the ultimate representation fed into the classifier for face forgery detection. Both the reconstruction and classification learning processes are optimized end-to-end. Through extensive experimentation, our model demonstrated a substantial improvement in deepfake detection across unknown domains, while maintaining a high accuracy within the known domain. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). As a data-driven science, machine learning requires vast amounts of training data and computational resources. However, for highly privacy-sensitive data, it is crucial to protect the privacy of the data during both the training and utilization of machine learning models. In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving machine learning approach using autoencoders and differential privacy mechanisms to safeguard data privacy while minimizing the impact on data availability. Specifically, we augment logistic regression and ResNet18 models with different architectures of autoencoders to perform data encryption? without compromising the machine learning tasks. Additionally, we employ differential privacy mechanisms to introduce gradient perturbations in the encoding part of the autoencoder, enhancing the algorithm’s security and further protecting data privacy. We also design the cosine similarity between the encoded and original data as a metric for evaluating data privacy, considering model performance, privacy budget, and data privacy collectively to balance data availability and privacy. Extensive experiments conducted on MNIST, CIFAR-10, PathMNIST, and BloodMNIST datasets demonstrate that for simple logistic regression models handling easily classifiable datasets, employing simple autoencoder structures can enhance classification accuracy, with significant performance impact after adding differential privacy. For ResNet18, utilizing convolutional autoencoders for data encryption generally has minimal impact on model classification performance and can even improve accuracy in most cases. Adding differential privacy has minor effects on model classification performance. Selecting appropriate model structures and privacy budgets for different usage scenarios can ensure both data availability and privacy. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

YOLOv9-AAG: Distinguishing Birds and Drones in Infrared and Visible Light Scenarios

The ability to distinguish between birds and drones is essential for applications in wildlife preservation, aviation security, and defense operations. Reliable identification not only reduces the risk of bird strikes and monitors potential drone threats but also fosters the development of a secure and intelligent ecological environment. However, achieving high precision in recognition under complex and dynamic conditions remains a significant hurdle. To overcome this, we present an advanced detection framework, YOLOv9-AKConv-AFF-GSConv(YOLOv9-AAG), which substantially improves the accuracy of distinguishing birds from drones, even in varied poses, and enhances generalization capabilities in both infrared and visible light scenarios. The framework incorporates several key advancements. First, the GSConv is embedded into the head of the RepNSCPELAN4-AKConv module, enabling efficient extraction of edge and contour information without introducing additional computational cost. Second, the inclusion of the Attentional Feature Fusion (AFF) mechanism within AKConv amplifies the representation of shape features, particularly under challenging environments and multimodal scenarios. Lastly, the optimized AKConv module is effectively integrated with the original RepNSCPELAN4 model, facilitating more accurate and robust feature extraction for small targets, including birds and drones. Experimental evaluations underscore the effectiveness of the proposed framework. On an optical dataset containing multiple bird and drone targets, YOLOv9-AAG achieved recognition accuracy rates of 78.2%, while on an infrared dataset, it reached 86.1%. These results reflect improvements of 7.4% and 6.0%, respectively, over the baseline YOLOv9 model. Additionally, the F1 scores increased by 5.9% and 2.8%. On the publicly available CUB-200-2011 dataset and a combined dataset of visible and infrared images, the model attained mean Average Precision (mAP) scores of 81.9% and 81.6%, respectively, outper

Graph-based Cognitive Diagnosis (CD) has attracted much research interest due to its strong ability on inferring students' proficiency levels on knowledge concepts. While graph-based CD models have demonstrated remarkable performance, we contend that they still cannot achieve optimal performance due to the neglect of edge heterogeneity and uncertainty. Edges involve both correct and incorrect response logs, indicating heterogeneity. Meanwhile, a response log can have uncertain semantic meanings, e.g., a correct log can indicate true mastery or fortunate guessing, and a wrong log can indicate a lack of understanding or a careless mistake. In this paper, we propose an Informative Semantic-aware Graph-based Cognitive Diagnosis model (ISG-CD), which focuses on how to utilize the heterogeneous graph in CD and minimize effects of uncertain edges. Specifically, to explore heterogeneity, we propose a semantic-aware graph neural networks based CD model. To minimize effects of edge uncertainty, we propose an Informative Edge Differentiation layer from an information bottleneck perspective, which suggests keeping a minimal yet sufficient reliable graph for CD in an unsupervised way. We formulate this process as maximizing mutual information between the reliable graph and response logs, while minimizing mutual information between the reliable graph and the original graph. After that, we prove that mutual information maximization can be theoretically converted to the classic binary cross entropy loss function, while minimizing mutual information can be realized by the Hilbert-Schmidt Independence ***, we adopt an alternating training strategy for optimizing learnable parameters of both the semantic-aware graph neural networks based CD model and the edge differentiation layer. Extensive experiments on three real-world datasets have demonstrated the effectiveness of ISG-CD.

Severe immune responses regulate the various clinical hepatic injuries, includingautoimmune hepatitis and acute viral hepatitis. N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification is acrucial regulator of immunity and inflammation. However, the precise role of YTHDF1 in Tcell-mediated hepatitis remains incompletely characterized. To address this, we utilizedConcanavalin A (ConA)-induced mouse liver damage as an experimental model for T cell-mediated hepatitis. Our findings found that hepatic YTHDF1 protein rapidly decreased during ConAinduced hepatitis, and YTHDF1-deficient (Ythdf1^(-/-)) mice showed more susceptibility toConA-induced liver injury, along with an intensified inflammatory storm accompanied by aggravated hepatic inflammatory response via ERK and NF-κB pathways. Interestingly, hepatic-specific over-expression or deletion of YTHDF1 exhibited redundancy in ConA-induced liver *** in bone marrow chimeric mice confirmed the necessity of YTHDF1 in hematopoieticcells for controlling the response to ConA-induced hepatitis. Additionally, our data revealedthat YTHDF1 deletion in macrophages exacerbated the inflammatory response induced by lipopolysaccharide. In summary, our study uncovered that YTHDF1 deficiency exacerbates the immune response in ConA-induced hepatitis by modulating the expression of inflammatorymediators, highlighting the potential of YTHDF1 as a therapeutic target for clinical hepatitis.
