Approximation for a scheduling problem with application in wireless networks

A network of many sensors and a base station that are deployed over a region is *** sensor has a transmission range,an interference range and a carrier sensing range,which are r,αr and βr,*** this paper,we study the minimum latency conflict-aware many-to-one data aggregation scheduling problem:Given locations of sensors along with a base station,a subset of all sensors,and parameters r,α and β,to find a schedule in which the data of each sensor in the subset can be transmitted to the base station with no conflicts,such that the latency is *** designe an algorithm based on maximal independent sets,which has a latency bound of(a+19b)R + Δb-a + 5 time slots,where a and b are two constant integers relying on α and β,Δ is the maximum degree of network topology,and R is the trivial lower bound of *** Δ contributes to an additive factor instead of a multiplicative one,thus our algorithm is nearly a constant(a+19b)-ratio.

Objective:Early predicting response before neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC)is crucial for personalized treatment plans for locally advanced breast cancer *** aim to develop a multi-task model using multiscale whole slide images(WSIs)features to predict the response to breast cancer NAC more ***:This work collected 1,670 whole slide images for training and validation sets,internal testing sets,external testing sets,and prospective testing sets of the weakly-supervised deep learning-based multi-task model(DLMM)in predicting treatment response and pCR to *** approach models two-by-two feature interactions across scales by employing concatenate fusion of single-scale feature representations,and controls the expressiveness of each representation via a gating-based attention ***:In the retrospective analysis,DLMM exhibited excellent predictive performance for the prediction of treatment response,with area under the receiver operating characteristic curves(AUCs)of 0.869[95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.806−0.933]in the internal testing set and 0.841(95%CI:0.814−0.867)in the external testing *** the pCR prediction task,DLMM reached AUCs of 0.865(95%CI:0.763−0.964)in the internal testing and 0.821(95%CI:0.763−0.878)in the pooled external testing *** the prospective testing study,DLMM also demonstrated favorable predictive performance,with AUCs of 0.829(95%CI:0.754−0.903)and 0.821(95%CI:0.692−0.949)in treatment response and pCR prediction,*** significantly outperformed the baseline models in all testing sets(P<0.05).Heatmaps were employed to interpret the decision-making basis of the ***,it was discovered that high DLMM scores were associated with immune-related pathways and cells in the microenvironment during biological basis ***:The DLMM represents a valuable tool that aids clinicians in selecting personalized treatment strategies for breast cancer patients.

Improved head-driven statistical models for natural language parsing

Head-driven statistical models for natural language parsing are the most representative lexicalized syntactic parsing models, but they only utilize semantic dependency between words, and do not incorporate other semantic information such as semantic collocation and semantic category. Some improvements on this distinctive parser are presented. Firstly, "valency" is an essential semantic feature of words. Once the valency of word is determined, the collocation of the word is clear, and the sentence structure can be directly derived. Thus, a syntactic parsing model combining valence structure with semantic dependency is purposed on the base of head-driven statistical syntactic parsing models. Secondly, semantic role labeling(SRL) is very necessary for deep natural language processing. An integrated parsing approach is proposed to integrate semantic parsing into the syntactic parsing process. Experiments are conducted for the refined statistical parser. The results show that 87.12% precision and 85.04% recall are obtained, and F measure is improved by 5.68% compared with the head-driven parsing model introduced by Collins.

A Part-of-speech Tagging Model Employing Word Clustering and Syntactic Parsing

Part-Of-Speech tagging is a basic task in the field of natural language processing. This paper builds a POS tagger based on improved Hidden Markov model,by employing word clustering and syntactic parsing ***, In order to overcome the defects of the classical HMM, Markov family model(MFM), a new statistical model was introduced. Secondly, to solve the problem of data sparseness, we propose a bottom-to-up hierarchical word clustering algorithm. Then we combine syntactic parsing with part-of-speech tagging. The Part-ofSpeech tagging experiments show that the improved PartOf-Speech tagging model has higher performance than Hidden Markov models(HMMs) under the same testing conditions, the precision is enhanced from 94.642% to97.235%.

Hadamard Encoding Based Frequent Itemset Mining under Local Differential Privacy

Local differential privacy(LDP)approaches to collecting sensitive information for frequent itemset mining(FIM)can reliably guarantee *** current approaches to FIM under LDP add"padding and sampling"steps to obtain frequent itemsets and their frequencies because each user transaction represents a set of *** current state-of-the-art approach,namely set-value itemset mining(SVSM),must balance variance and bias to achieve accurate ***,an unbiased FIM approach with lower variance is highly *** narrow this gap,we propose an Item-Level LDP frequency oracle approach,named the Integrated-with-Hadamard-Transform-Based Frequency Oracle(IHFO).For the first time,Hadamard encoding is introduced to a set of values to encode all items into a fixed vector,and perturbation can be subsequently applied to the *** FIM approach,called optimized united itemset mining(O-UISM),is pro-posed to combine the padding-and-sampling-based frequency oracle(PSFO)and the IHFO into a framework for acquiring accurate frequent itemsets with their ***,we theoretically and experimentally demonstrate that O-UISM significantly outperforms the extant approaches in finding frequent itemsets and estimating their frequencies under the same privacy guarantee.

Reliable flight performance assessment of multirotor based on interacting multiple model particle filter and health degree

Multirotor has been applied to many military and civilian mission scenarios. From the perspective of reliability, it is difficult to ensure that multirotors do not generate hardware and software failures or performance anomalies during the flight process. These failures and anomalies may result in mission interruptions, crashes, and even threats to the lives and property of human ***, the study of flight reliability problems of multirotors is conductive to the development of the drone industry and has theoretical significance and engineering value. This paper proposes a reliable flight performance assessment method of multirotors based on an Interacting Multiple Model Particle Filter(IMMPF) algorithm and health degree as the performance indicator. First, the multirotor is modeled by the Stochastic Hybrid System(SHS) model, and the problem of reliable flight performance assessment is formulated. In order to solve the problem, the IMMPF algorithm is presented to estimate the real-time probability distribution of hybrid state of the established SHS-based multirotor model, since it can decrease estimation errors compared with the standard interacting multiple model algorithm based on extended Kalman filter. Then, the reliable flight performance is assessed with health degree based on the estimation result. Finally, a case study of a multirotor suffering from sensor anomalies is presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

2DCMA： An Effective Maintenance Algorithm of Materialized Views in Peer data Management Systems

Update management is very important for data integration systems. So update management in peer data management systems （PDMSs） is a hot research area. This paper researches on view maintenance in PDMSs. First, the definition of view is extended and the peer view, local view and global view are proposed according to the requirements of applications. There are two main factors to influence materialized views in PDMSs. One is that schema mappings between peers are changed, and the other is that peers update their data. Based on the requirements, this paper proposes an algorithm called 2DCMA, which includes two sub-algorithms： data and definition consistency maintenance algorithm% to effectively maintain views. For data consistency maintenance, Mork＇s rules are extended for governing the use of updategrams and boosters. The new rule system can be used to optimize the execution plan. And are extended for the data consistency maintenance algorithm is based on the new rule system. Furthermore, an ECA rule is adopted for definition consistency maintenance. Finally, extensive simulation experiments are conducted in SPDMS. The simulation results show that the 2DCMA algorithm has better performance than that of Mork＇s when maintaining data consistency. And the 2DCMA algorithm has better performance than that of centralized view maintenance algorithm when maintaining definition consistency.

2D shape motion-driving based on transferring

To create the lively and realistic motion for 2D shape animation, proposes a new motion-driving method based on transferring from the existing shape to a virtual one. This method extracts the existing character's pose to skeleton status based on the rotate angle. The motion is transferred by synchronizing skeleton status and its occurred time. The virtual shape can obtain the same pose with the existing one at the same time. The accumulation of the rotate angle of joint points can solve the transferring between two shapes with different topology. The method has been proved feasible and valid to simulate more credible motion and to decrease the stiff motion in 2D animation. It can also be applied to fast cartoon designing and motion transferring among homoplastic models. 1548-7741/Copyright © 2014 Binary Information Press
