The potential application of intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRSs) for future wireless cellular communication systems has motivated the study of metasurface for achieving additional space degree of freedom, where IRS is used to enhance the desired signal strength and suppress the interference. In this paper, by using the additional design degree of freedom provided by the IRS, we jointly optimize the transmit beamforming vector at the BS and the reflective beamforming vector at the IRS to maximize the minimum rate in the IRS-aided multi-user multiple-input-single-output broadcast channel (MISO-BC), subject to the unit modulus constraints of the reflective beamforming vector. In order to solve the non-convex optimization problem, we propose an efficient algorithm based on alternating optimization. In particular, we optimize the transmit beamforming vectors via the second-order cone problem (SOCP) and reflective beamforming vector by using the semi-definite relaxation (SDR). Numerical results show that the use of IRS leads to significant higher SINR values than benchmark schemes without IRS.

Joint item recommendation and attribute inference: An adaptive graph convolutional network approach

In many recommender systems, users and items are associated with attributes, and users show preferences to items. The attribute information describes users’ (items’) characteristics and has a wide range of applications, such as user profiling, item annotation, and feature-enhanced recommendation. As annotating user (item) attributes is a labor intensive task, the attribute values are often incomplete with many missing attribute values. Therefore, item recommendation and attribute inference have become two main tasks in these platforms. Researchers have long converged that user (item) attributes and the preference behavior are highly correlated. Some researchers proposed to leverage one kind of data for the remaining task, and showed to improve performance. Nevertheless, these models either neglected the incompleteness of user (item) attributes or regarded the correlation of the two tasks with simple models, leading to suboptimal performance of these two tasks. To this end, in this paper, we define these two tasks in an attributed user-item bipartite graph, and propose an Adaptive Graph Convolutional Network (AGCN) approach for joint item recommendation and attribute inference. The key idea of AGCN is to iteratively perform two parts: 1) Learning graph embedding parameters with previously learned approximated attribute values to facilitate two tasks;2) Sending the approximated updated attribute values back to the attributed graph for better graph embedding learning. Therefore, AGCN could adaptively adjust the graph embedding learning parameters by incorporating both the given attributes and the estimated attribute values, in order to provide weakly supervised information to refine the two tasks. In order to effectively obtain the signal from sensor, the analogy signal needs to be amplified and then converted into a digital signal for matching to the sensor characteristics. With a supercapacitive electric field sensor based on graphene aerogel, the response current signal from the electric field sensor is weak and unstable. Herein, a high gain and low noise preamplifier is developed, and an amplifier circuit with double T-type feedback network is proposed to reduce the Johnson noise for the amplifier. This design can reduce the thermal noise of resistance by using the smaller resistance under the same gain, and it can effectively reduce the interference of peak noise by adding the feedback capacitance, so as to improve the detection accuracy. The simulation results show that under the same gain condition, the Johnson noise can be reduced by 46% and the detection accuracy can be improved by 12% compared with the traditional T-type feedback network. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Supervised topic modeling algorithms have been successfully applied to multi-label document classification *** models include labeled latent Dirichlet allocation(L-LDA)and ***,these models neglect the class frequency information of words(i.e.,the number of classes where a word has occurred in the training data),which is significant for *** address this,we propose a method,namely the class frequency weight(CF-weight),to weight words by considering the class frequency *** CF-weight is based on the intuition that a word with higher(lower)class frequency will be less(more)*** this study,the CF-weight is used to improve L-LDA and dependency-LDA.A number of experiments have been conducted on real-world multi-label *** results demonstrate that CF-weight based algorithms are competitive with the existing supervised topic models.

Collaborative Metric Learning (CML) has recently emerged as a popular method in recommendation systems (RS), closing the gap between metric learning and Collaborative Filtering. Following the convention of RS, existing methods exploit unique user representation in their model design. This paper focuses on a challenging scenario where a user has multiple categories of interests. Under this setting, we argue that the unique user representation might induce preference bias, especially when the item category distribution is imbalanced. To address this issue, we propose a novel method called Diversity-Promoting Collaborative Metric Learning (DPCML), with the hope of considering the commonly ignored minority interest of the user. The key idea behind DPCML is to include a multiple set of representations for each user in the system. Based on this embedding paradigm, user preference toward an item is aggregated from different embeddings by taking the minimum item-user distance among the user embedding set. Furthermore, we observe that the diversity of the embeddings for the same user also plays an essential role in the model. To this end, we propose a Diversity Control Regularization Scheme (DCRS) to accommodate the multi-vector representation strategy better. Theoretically, we show that DPCML could generalize well to unseen test data by tackling the challenge of the annoying operation that comes from the minimum value. Experiments over a range of benchmark datasets speak to the efficacy of DPCML.

Recent studies have shown the promise of direct data processing on hierarchically-compressed text documents. By removing the need for decompressing data, the direct data processing technique brings large savings in both time and space. However, its benefits have been limited to data traversal operations; for random accesses, direct data processing is several times slower than the state-of-the-art baselines. This paper presents a set of techniques that successfully eliminate the limitation, and for the first time, establishes the feasibility of effectively handling both data traversal operations and random data accesses on hierarchically-compressed data. The work yields a new library, which achieves 3.1× speedup over the state-of-the-art on random data accesses to compressed data, while preserving the capability of supporting traversal operations efficiently and providing large (3.9×) space savings.

Finding a subset of users to statistically represent the original social network in terms of attributes has received a lot of attention recently. The existing literature had proved that the problem is NP-Hard and proposed some sampling models, but representative degrees aren't systematically studied. Taking node degree and edge weight into account, we present a topic sampling model for the whole social network in this paper. Firstly, by statistically calculating node degrees for one real dataset, we find that one node is more likely to be a representative user if its degree is high. We then give some definitions about representative degrees. Based on statistical stratified sample, we finally give a sampling model of topic representative users who are from most or all attribute groups in the network. Experimental results show that our algorithm significantly outperforms other six baseline methods and is also effective in terms of time complexity.

Recovering Accurate Labeling Information from Partially Valid data for Effective Multi-Label Learning

Partial Multi-label Learning (PML) aims to induce the multi-label predictor from datasets with noisy supervision, where each training instance is associated with several candidate labels but only partially valid. To address the noisy issue, the existing PML methods basically recover the ground-truth labels by leveraging the ground-truth confidence of the candidate label, i.e., the likelihood of a candidate label being a ground-truth one. However, they neglect the information from non-candidate labels, which potentially contributes to the ground-truth label recovery. In this paper, we propose to recover the ground-truth labels, i.e., estimating the ground-truth confidences, from the label enrichment, composed of the relevance degrees of candidate labels and irrelevance degrees of non-candidate labels. Upon this observation, we further develop a novel two-stage PML method, namely Partial MultiLabel Learning with Label Enrichment-Recovery (PML3ER), where in the first stage, it estimates the label enrichment with unconstrained label propagation, then jointly learns the ground-truth confidence and multi-label predictor given the label enrichment. PWG-IDS: An intrusion detection model for solving class imbalance in IIoT networks using generative adversarial networks

With the continuous development of industrial IoT (IIoT) technology, network security is becoming more and more important. And intrusion detection is an important part of its security. However, since the amount of attack traffic is very small compared to normal traffic, this imbalance makes intrusion detection in it very difficult. To address this imbalance, an intrusion detection system called pretraining Wasserstein generative adversarial network intrusion detection system (PWG-IDS) is proposed in this paper. This system is divided into two main modules: 1) In this module, we introduce the pretraining mechanism in the Wasserstein generative adversarial network with gradient penalty (WGAN-GP) for the first time, firstly using the normal network traffic to train the WGAN-GP, and then inputting the imbalance data into the pre-trained WGAN-GP to retrain and generate the final required data. 2) Intrusion detection module: We use LightGBM as the classification algorithm to detect attack traffic in IIoT networks. The experimental results show that our proposed PWG-IDS outperforms other models, with F1-scores of 99% and 89% on the 2 datasets, respectively. And the pretraining mechanism we proposed can also be widely used in other GANs, providing a new way of thinking for the training of GANs. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

It has been observed that both cancer tissue cells and normal proliferating cells(NPCs)have the Warburg *** goal here is to demonstrate that they do this for different *** accomplish this,we have analyzed the transcriptomic data of over 7000 cancer and control tissues of 14 cancer types in TCGA and data of five NPC types in *** analyses reveal that NPCs accumulate large quantities of ATPs produced by the respiration process before starting the Warburg effect,to raise the intracellular pH from 6.8 to 7.2 and to prepare for cell division *** cell cycle starts,the cells start to rely on glycolysis for ATP generation followed by ATP hydrolysis and lactic acid release,to maintain the elevated intracellular pH as needed by cell division since together the three processes are pH *** cells go back to the normal respirationbased ATP production once the cell division phase *** comparison,cancer cells have reached their intracellular pH at 7.4 from top down as multiple acid-loading transporters are up-regulated and most acid-extruding ones except for lactic acid exporters are *** cells use continuous glycolysis for ATP production as way to acidify the intracellular space since the lactic acid secretion is decoupled from glycolysis-based ATP generation and is pH balanced by increased expressions of acid-loading ***-expression analyses suggest that lactic acid secretion is regulated by external,non-pH related ***,our data strongly suggest that the two cell types have the Warburg effect for very different reasons.
