Optimal Flying Location for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Equipped with MF-RIS assisted Covert Wireless on Communication

In the current information age, covert communication holds significant value owing to its advantages, such as heightened security, enhanced flexibility, and improved concealment, surpassing those of traditional communication methods. However, existing covert communication approaches approximate communication channel models by Line-of-Sight (LoS) links, which is insufficient due to neglecting the impact of multipath effects and applying inaccurate performance assessments. To better adapt to real-world communication channel conditions, we propose a novel covert communication model assisted by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) equipped with Multi-Functional Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (MF-RIS), named UMCCM. Specifically, based on a mixed link of LoS and Non-Line-of-Sight (NLoS), UMCCM leverages MF-RIS as a flexible relay to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and effective throughput. We first derive the mixed channel model expression. Then, we transform covert constraints from incomplete gamma functions to those linked with relative entropy and accordingly optimize the UAV transmission power and block length. Finally, the optimal flying position of the UAV is obtained by analyzing the functional properties of SNR and effective throughput under these refined constraints. Extensive numerical results demonstrate the superiority of our proposed UMCCM for enhancing SNR and effective throughput over the existing works. © 2025 IEEE.

Non-destructive testing of weld based on radio-graphic images is crucial for quality control of spiral steel pipes. However, accurately discriminating defect images from high-resolution and low-contrast weld images remains a challenging task. Moreover, the real-time imaging of radiography in industrial settings introduces dynamic distorted interferences to weld images, which has received limited attention in existing research. To address these issues, we propose a two-stage real-time discrimination method (TRDM) consisting of two carefully designed networks: an extremely lightweight weld region segmentation network and a semantic reconstruction-based discrimination network. Our method aims to adaptively reduce interference from invalid regions in the weld images to better exploit defect features from a semantic perspective and reconstruct them as defect-free regions as much as possible. To overcome the scarcity of weld defect image data, we construct two publicly available industrial weld datasets, including an image dataset and a video dataset. TRDM achieves competitive performance with state-of-the-art techniques, demonstrating its effectiveness in discriminating weld images. Furthermore, we integrate the TRDM into developed detection software for defect assessment, validating its efficacy in real welding scenarios. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

This paper addresses the distributed load frequency control (LFC) problem for multi-area interconnected power systems (MAIPSs) with thermal and wind power generations, considering both inter-area and intra-area transmission delays and random packet losses induced by communication networks. Firstly, a heterogeneous framework of MAIPSs is constructed, where a networked distributed model predictive control (DMPC) scheme is proposed to compensate for transmission delays and random packet losses. Based on this framework, we then developed a distributed closed-loop LFC system model for heterogeneous MAIPS. Subsequently, a Luenberger observer is constructed to estimate the system state of the local area, and a networked feedback controller is designed to ensure stability with a certain H∞ performance level for the networked MAIPSs. Moreover, stability conditions and controller design criteria are provided by using the Lyapunov-Krasovskii stability theory. Graphs widely exist in real-world, and Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have exhibited exceptional efficacy in graph learning in diverse fields. With the strengthening of data privacy protection worldwide in recent years, Federated graph neural networks (FedGNNs) have gained increasing attention in academia and industry owing to their ability to train the model in a collaborative manner while complying with the privacy protection regulations. However, in federated learning, the non-independent and identically distributed (non-IID) problem of local data possessed by multiple participants can significantly undermine model accuracy. We propose a new Decentralized Federated Graph Normalized AutoEncoder (D-FGNAE). First, the model is designed as a decentralized federated learning framework with dynamically assigned tripartite roles. This design eliminates the fixed server role found in traditional federated learning, enhances system fault tolerance, avoids single points of failure, and protects model privacy. Second, the splitting and correcting of calculation by layer in the model, along with the special design of the normalization layer, effectively tackle the non-IID problem in both the structural and attribute aspects. Experimental results on real-world networks demonstrate the effectiveness of D-FGNAE, which can achieve nearly the same accuracy as the centralized model. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Recently, heterogeneous graph contrastive learning, which can mine supervision signals from the data, has attracted widespread attention. However, most existing methods employ random data augmentation strategies to construct contrastive views, which may destroy the semantic information in heterogeneous graphs. Moreover, they often select positive and negative samples based solely on node-level proximity and overlook hard samples that are difficult to distinguish from anchors. To solve the above problems, we propose a Community-Aware Heterogeneous Graph Contrastive Learning model called CAHGCL. In particular, we design an adaptive data augmentation strategy to construct views, including feature augmentation and topology augmentation. To improve the quality of samples, we propose a dynamic sample weighting strategy based on node similarity and community information, capable of identifying both hard positive samples and hard negative samples. Finally, we introduce community-level contrast to improve community cohesion. Mask2Edge: Masking dependencies and dynamically capturing pixel differences in edge detection

Edge detection plays an important role in computer vision tasks. Deep learning-based edge detectors commonly rely on encoding the long and short-term dependencies of pixel values to mine contextual information. They strongly focus on all positions in the image, ignoring the potential issue of over-encoding. Furthermore, most of these models have not attempted to leverage the inherent properties of edges. In this paper, we introduce a query-based edge detector named Mask2Edge, which is capable of masking dependencies and dynamically capturing pixel differences. Specifically, we first devise a masking strategy based on the sparsity of edges to alleviate the over-encoding issue. We propose a Region-guided Masked Attention, which adapts to edge detection and is capable of constraining cross-attention with appropriate masking intensity to extract relatively complete local features. Subsequently, we design a structure to capture the pixel differences that can help identify edges. We introduce dynamic convolutions into edge detection and refine the application scope and generation method of attention weights to effectively perceive changes in pixel gradients. Community evolution tracking is widely used in complex network analysis, which analyzes and identifies how communities evolve over time based on dynamic community detection. However, the current incremental dynamic community detection method has the phenomenon of ’concept drift’, which leads to inaccurate tracking of community evolution. Although some studies on dynamic community detection have proposed to perform global community detection on the network by timing or when the error information accumulates to a certain extent, this method will lead to a sudden change in community division, which will interrupt the evolution sequence of some communities and bring great difficulties to the continuous tracking of community evolution. In addition, the current community evolution tracking methods match the communities of two adjacent snapshots, and it is difficult to capture the fine-grained evolution process within the community. This paper proposes a community evolution tracking algorithm based on high-order neighbor consideration and node change identification. Firstly, based on an incremental update strategy that considers high-order neighbors, we adaptively expand the scope of incremental updates to reduce the accumulation of error information. Secondly, through the node change identification strategy to mine fine-grained community evolution events. Unified stream and batch computing (USBC) aims to incorporate stream and batch computation into a unified framework, thereby enabling the development of a one-stop solution for stream and batch data processing and enhancing the generalization of the framework. However, research on unified graph computing models (UGCMs) faces several challenges. First, existing UGCMs need to consider all graph information in the cache during the incremental update phase, thus leading to decreased execution efficiency. Second, existing UGCMs use fixed bytes to store nodes without considering the actual space occupied by nodes resulting in wasted memory when dealing with large graphs. This paper proposes a UGCM with Local Updates for community detection (UGCM-LU). We first implement a local update strategy to consider partial information of the graph to achieve incremental updates. Secondly, we also designed a byte-compression-based module to store graph data according to the space occupied by nodes. Edge computing, an advanced extension of cloud computing, provides superior computational capabilities and lowlatency processing at the network edge, facilitating its availability for real-time data analysis in resource-limited settings. When applied to the analysis of teaching methodologies, edge computing enables the seamless integration of vocal and physical cues, facilitating collaborative, dynamic, and real-time evaluations of teaching quality. However, the inherent complexity of human perception and multimodal interactions impose great challenges to the analysis of these aspects in Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). This paper introduces an innovative mathematical model and a measurement index specifically designed to assess changes in voice-body coordination over time. To achieve this, we propose a cloud-enabled enhanced Bi-Linear Attention Network incorporating entropy and Fourier transforms (BAN-E-FT), which leverages both temporal and frequencydomain features. Specifically, by harnessing the computational and storage capabilities of edge computing, BAN-E-FT facilitates distributed training, expedites large-scale data processing, and enhances model scalability, where entropy measures and Fourier transforms capture modality dynamics, enhancing BAN's fusion capabilities. Moreover, a conditional domain adversarial network is embedded to address regional teaching variations, improving model generalizability. We also verify the robustness of BAN-EFT with accuracy and convergence through convex optimization analysis. Experiments on the eNTERFACE'05 dataset demonstrate 81% accuracy in assessing teaching adaptability, while real-world test at Guizhou University confirms 78% accuracy when using BAN-E-FT, matching human expert assessments. © 2013 IEEE.

This paper is concerned with non-radiating elastic sources in inhomogeneous elastic media. We demonstrate that the value of non-radiating elastic sources must vanish at convex corners of their support, provided the sources exhibit Hölder continuous regularity near the corner. Additionally, their gradient must satisfy intricate algebraic relationships with the angles defining the underlying corners, assuming the sources have C1,α regularity with α ∈ (0, 1) in the neighborhood of the corners. To perform microlocal analysis around the corners, we employ the so-called complex geometrical optics (CGO) solutions as test functions within a partial differential system. These characterizations of non-radiating elastic sources in inhomogeneous elastic media at corners enable us to establish the unique identifiability results for determining the position and shape of radiating elastic sources by a single far-field measurement, both locally and globally. The uniqueness result by a single far-field measurement is a challenging problem with a colorful history in inverse scattering. Indeed, when the support of a radiating elastic source is a convex polygon, we can simultaneously determine the shape of the elastic source and its values at the corners, provided the source is Hölder continuous at the corner.
