Spatio-temporal Dynamics and Drivers of Ecological Quality in Yulin City Using the MRSEI Model

Accurate segmentation of polyps from colonoscopy images is of great significance for the prevention of colorectal cancer. Despite notable progress, polyp segmentation remains a challenging task due to the diversity of polyp size and shape, as well as the camouflage property of polyps caused by their high similarity to surrounding tissues. To address these challenges, inspired by human perceptual experience in finding objects, we propose a multi-perspective collaborative network (MPCNet), innovatively identifying the potential polyps from the perspectives of matching views and seeking camouflage. Firstly, from the former perspective, a global–local aware module is proposed to provide various feature receptive fields to match suitable views for polyps of different sizes and shapes. Then, from the latter perspective, a texture enhancement module (TEM) and an interaction refinement module (IRM) are proposed to mine and complement clues essential for breaking the camouflage. Specifically, TEM mines texture-related clues and amplifies the subtle texture differences between polyps and their background, while IRM complements boundary clues and further optimizes feature representation through the interaction between boundaries and regions, thereby generating accurate segmentation results with complete regions and fine boundaries. Extensive experiments on five benchmark polyp datasets show that our MPCNet outperforms other state-of-the-art methods. In particular, we achieve a mean Dice of 81.7% and 82.4% on the most challenging datasets CVC-ColonDB and ETIS, respectively, which are significantly higher than competing methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2025.

The low-altitude economy (LAE), as a new economic paradigm, plays an indispensable role in cargo transportation, healthcare, infrastructure inspection, and especially post-disaster communication. Specifically, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as one of the core technologies of the LAE, can be deployed to provide communication coverage, facilitate data collection, and relay data for trapped users, thereby significantly enhancing the efficiency of post-disaster response efforts. However, conventional UAV self-organizing networks exhibit low reliability in long-range cases due to their limited onboard energy and transmit ability. Therefore, in this paper, we design an efficient and robust UAV-swarm enabled collaborative self-organizing network to facilitate post-disaster communications. Specifically, a ground device transmits data to UAV swarms, which then use collaborative beamforming (CB) technique to form virtual antenna arrays and relay the data to a remote access point (AP) efficiently. Then, we formulate a rescue-oriented post-disaster transmission rate maximization optimization problem (RPTRMOP), aimed at maximizing the transmission rate of the whole network. Given the challenges of solving the formulated RPTRMOP by using traditional algorithms, we propose a two-stage optimization approach to address it. In the first stage, the optimal traffic routing and the theoretical upper bound on the transmission rate of the network are derived. In the second stage, we transform the formulated RPTRMOP into a variant named V-RPTRMOP based on the obtained optimal traffic routing, aimed at rendering the actual transmission rate closely approaches its theoretical upper bound by optimizing the excitation current weight and the placement of each participating UAV via a diffusion model-enabled particle swarm optimization (DM-PSO) algorithm. SSAM: a span spatial attention model for recognizing named entities

Mapping a sentence into a two-dimensional (2D) representation can flatten nested semantic structures and build multi-granular span dependencies in named entity recognition. Existing approaches to recognizing named entities often classify each entity span independently, which ignores the spatial structures between neighboring spans. To address this issue, we propose a Span Spatial Attention Model (SSAM) that consists of a token encoder, a span generation module, and a 2D spatial attention network. The SSAM employs a two-channel span generation strategy to capture multi-granular features. Unlike traditional attention implemented on a sequential sentence representation, spatial attention is applied to a 2D sentence representation, enabling the model to learn the spatial structures of the sentence. This allows the SSAM to adaptively encode important features and suppress non-essential information in the 2D sentence representation. Experimental results on the GENIA, ACE2005, and ACE2004 datasets demonstrate that our proposed model achieves state-of-the-art performance, with F1-scores of 81.82%, 89.04%, and 89.24%, respectively. In recent years, the development of artificial intelligence and big data technologies has led to the advancement of tools and solutions for transforming the geological and mineral survey paradigm, which requires a large amount of geological knowledge in a complex and arduous working environment. The large language model (LLM) has a significant advantage in answering generative intelligent questions. However, LLMs for general fields have limitations in answering professional questions in a vertical domain like geology. To overcome this challenge, we proposed and developed GeoMinLM, an LLM for geological and mineral exploration scenarios in Yunnan Province, and explored its applications in intelligent Q&A. Leveraging a proprietary dataset of 5.16 million words in geology and mineral exploration, we trained GeoMinLM based on Baichuan-2, achieving superior performance through fine-tuning and hyperparameter optimization. By integrating expert knowledge via a knowledge graph, we significantly reduced hallucinations and enhanced professionalism. This study proves that GeoMinLM is helpful for accurate information retrieval and knowledge dissemination, thereby supporting the intelligent advancement of geological and mineral fields. © 2025 The Author(s)

Study on the Characteristics of Cross-Domain knowledge Diffusion from Science to Policy: Evidence from Overton data

The cross-domain knowledge diffusion from science to policy is a prevalent phenomenon that demands academic attention. To investigate the characteristics of cross-domain knowledge diffusion from science to policy, this study suggests using the citation of policies to scientific articles as a basis for quantifying the diffusion strength, breadth, and speed. The study reveals that the strength and breadth of cross-domain knowledge diffusion from scientific papers to policies conform to a power-law distribution, while the speed follows a logarithmic normal distribution. Moreover, the papers with the highest diffusion strength, breadth, and fastest diffusion speed are predominantly from world-renowned universities, scholars, and top journals. The papers with the highest diffusion strength and breadth are mostly from social sciences, especially economics, those with the fastest diffusion speed are mainly from medical and life sciences, followed by social sciences. The findings indicate that cross-domain knowledge diffusion from science to policy follows the Matthew effect, whereby individuals or institutions with high academic achievements are more likely to achieve successful cross-domain knowledge diffusion. Slot filling and intent detection are two highly correlated tasks in spoken language understanding (SLU). Recent SLU research attempts to explore zero-shot prompting techniques in large language models to alleviate the data scarcity problem. Nevertheless, the existing prompting work ignores the cross-task interaction information for SLU, which leads to sub-optimal performance. To solve this problem, we present the pioneering work of Cross-task Interactive Prompting (CroPrompt) for SLU, which enables the model to interactively leverage the information exchange across the correlated tasks in SLU. Additionally, we further introduce a multi-task self-consistency mechanism to mitigate the error propagation caused by the intent information injection. We conduct extensive experiments on the standard SLU benchmark and the results reveal that CroPrompt consistently outperforms the existing prompting approaches. In addition, the multi-task self-consistency mechanism can effectively ease the error propagation issue, thereby enhancing the performance. We hope this work can inspire more research on cross-task prompting for SLU.

Applying large language models (LLMs) to academic API usage shows promise in reducing researchers' efforts to seek academic information. However, current LLM methods for using APIs struggle with the complex API coupling commonly encountered in academic queries. To address this, we introduce SoAy, a solution-based LLM methodology for academic information seeking. SoAy enables LLMs to generate code for invoking APIs, guided by a pre-constructed API calling sequence referred to as a solution. This solution simplifies the model's understanding of complex API relationships, while the generated code enhances reasoning efficiency. LLMs are aligned with this solution-oriented, code-based reasoning method by automatically enumerating valid API coupling sequences and transforming them into queries and executable *** evaluate SoAy, we introduce SoAyBench, an evaluation benchmark accompanied by SoAyEval, built upon a cloned environment of APIs from AMiner. Experimental results demonstrate a 34.58-75.99% performance improvement compared to state-of-the-art LLM API-based baselines. Decoupled Prototype Learning for Reliable Test-Time Adaptation

Test-time adaptation (TTA) is a task that continually adapts a pre-trained source model to the target domain during inference. One popular approach involves fine-tuning model with cross-entropy loss according to estimated pseudo-labels. However, its performance is significantly affected by noisy pseudo-labels. This study reveals that minimizing the classification error of each sample causes the cross-entropy loss's vulnerability to label noise. To address this issue, we propose a novel Decoupled Prototype Learning (DPL) method that features prototype-centric loss computation. First, we decouple the optimization of class prototypes. For each class prototype, we reduce its distance with positive samples and enlarge its distance with negative samples in a contrastive manner. This strategy prevents the model from overfitting to noisy pseudo-labels. Second, we propose a memory-based strategy to enhance DPL's robustness for the small batch sizes often encountered in TTA. We update each class's pseudo-feature from a memory in a momentum manner and insert an additional DPL loss. Finally, we introduce a consistency regularization-based approach to leverage samples with unconfident pseudo-labels. This approach transfers feature styles of samples with unconfident pseudo-labels to those with confident pseudo-labels. Thus, more reliable samples for TTA are created. The experimental results demonstrate that our methods achieve state-of-the-art performance on domain generalization benchmarks, and reliably improve the performance of self-training-based methods on image corruption benchmarks.
