Due to the lack of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, the university students have many deficiencies in contribution. We conducted semi-structured interviews with 28 undergraduate and postgraduate students of Nanjing Agricultural University. At the same time, we used descriptive statistics and cross-analysis methods to analyse the motivations of college students' initial contribution and the influencing factor of their choice. Based on this, this paper puts forward some suggestions for the initial submission of college students, and the journals are also provided for reference in the selection of manuscripts.

Based on the Social Cognition Theory, we constructed the influencing factors model of college students' intention of online health information behavior from three levels of individual, society and information systems, which was analyzed by using the PLS-SEM. Research shows that self-efficacy, information service quality, social support, information literacy and information quality significantly influence college students' intention of online health information behavior. However, the influence of perceived risk and information system quality is not significant.

To improve the information exchange rate between Alice and Bob in traditional two-way directional modulation (TWDM) network, a new double-reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-aided TWDM network is proposed. To achieve the low-complexity transmitter design, two analytical precoders, one closed-form method of adjusting the RIS phase-shifting matrices, and semi-iterative power allocation (PA) strategy of maximizing secrecy sum rate (SSR) are proposed. First, the geometric parallelogram (GPG) criterion is employed to give the phase-shifting matrices of RISs. Then, two precoders, called maximizing singular value (Max-SV) and maximizing signal-to-leakage-noise ratio (Max-SLNR), are proposed to enhance the SSR. Evenly, the maximizing SSR PA with hybrid iterative closed-form (HICF) is further proposed to improve the SSR and derived to be one root of a sixth-order polynomial computed by: (1) the Newton-Raphson algorithm is repeated twice to reduce the order of the polynomial from six to four;(2) the remaining four feasible solutions can be directly obtained by the Ferrari's method. Simulation results show that using the proposed Max-SV and Max-SLNR, the proposed GPG makes a significant SSR improvement over random phase and no RIS. Given GPG, the proposed Max-SV outperforms the proposed leakage for small-scale or medium-scale RIS. Particularly, the proposed HICF PA stragey shows about ten percent performance gain over equal PA. Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a disease with normal glucose tolerance before pregnancy and only diabetes during pregnancy. The discovery of GDM has a long history. The specific causes and mechanisms of its occurrence are still unclear. There is a lack of research on intelligent diagnosis of GDM. GDM has many adverse effects on pregnant women and fetuses, which is of great significance for the early diagnosis of GDM. Based on the measured data of the hospital, this paper realizes the intelligent diagnosis of GDM by using a improved KNN algorithm and a improved BP neural network.

This paper explores the size-invariance of evaluation metrics in Salient Object Detection (SOD), especially when multiple targets of diverse sizes co-exist in the same image. We observe that current metrics are size-sensitive, where larger objects are focused, and smaller ones tend to be ignored. We argue that the evaluation should be size-invariant because bias based on size is unjustified without additional semantic information. In pursuit of this, we propose a generic approach that evaluates each salient object separately and then combines the results, effectively alleviating the imbalance. We further develop an optimization framework tailored to this goal, achieving considerable improvements in detecting objects of different sizes. Theoretically, we provide evidence supporting the validity of our new metrics and present the generalization analysis of SOD. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. Triplet learning, i.e. learning from triplet data, has attracted much attention in computer vision tasks with an extremely large number of categories, e.g., face recognition and person re-identification. Albeit with rapid progress in designing and applying triplet learning algorithms, there is a lacking study on the theoretical understanding of their generalization performance. To fill this gap, this paper investigates the generalization guarantees of triplet learning by leveraging the stability analysis. Specifically, we establish the first general high-probability generalization bound for the triplet learning algorithm satisfying the uniform stability, and then 1 obtain the excess risk bounds of the order (Equation presented). for both stochastic gradient descent (SGD) and regularized risk minimization (RRM), where 2n is approximately equal to the number of training samples. Moreover, an optimistic generalization bound in expectation as fast as O(n−1) is derived for RRM in a low noise case via the on-average stability analysis. Finally, our results are applied to triplet metric learning to characterize its theoretical underpinning. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has started to empower the future of many industrial and mass-market applications. Localization techniques are becoming key to add location context to IoT data without human perception and intervention. Meanwhile, the newly-emerged Low-Power Wide-Area Network (LPWAN) technologies have advantages such as long range, low power consumption, low cost, massive connections, and the capability for communication in both indoor and outdoor areas. These features make LPWAN signals strong candidates for massmarket localization applications. However, there are various error sources that have limited the localization performance by using such IoT signals. This paper reviews the IoT localization system through the following sequence: IoT localization system review-localization data sources-localization algorithms-localization error sources and mitigation-localization performance evaluation. Compared to the related surveys, this paper has a more comprehensive and state-of-the-art review on IoT localization methods, an original review on IoT localization error sources and mitigation, an original review on IoT localization performance evaluation, and a more comprehensive review of IoT localization applications, opportunities, and challenges. Thus, this survey provides comprehensive guidance for peers who are interested in enabling localization ability in the existing IoT systems, using IoT systems for localization, or integrating IoT signals with the existing localization sensors. Recently, digital economy in social science has become increasingly significant. A well-constructed evaluation structure could generally and promptly describe and reveal its overall social digitalization development. Building on existent researches, this paper improves the evaluation system, which comprises four first-level indicators and thirty-one second-level indicators. Notably, this paper innovatively incorporates higher education into digital innovation of the evaluation. The Entropy method is utilized to assign weights to various indicators in an objective way, with employing the TOPSIS approach to prioritize the development of digital economy in places based on the closeness to the ideal solution. By analysing related data related from 31 provinces in China between 2017 to 2021, this paper greatly finds: Firstly, the development of digital economy vary significantly across provinces, with most provinces at a relatively poor level, indicating considerable potential for overall growth; Secondly, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shandong consistently ranked in the top four from 2017 to 2021, reflecting their specific development attributes and their emphasis on digital economy; Thirdly, significant disparities exist both between regions and among provinces. Consequently, this paper suggests establishing a comprehensive national digital economy development plan, formulating region-specific digital economy policies tailored to local conditions, and encouraging leading provinces to actively share experiences with other provinces.

Due to flexibility and low-cost, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are increasingly crucial for enhancing coverage and functionality of wireless networks. However, incorporating UAVs into next-generation wireless communication systems poses significant challenges, particularly in sustaining high-rate and long-range secure communications against eavesdropping attacks. In this work, we consider a UAV swarm-enabled secure surveillance network system, where a UAV swarm forms a virtual antenna array to transmit sensitive surveillance data to a remote base station (RBS) via collaborative beamforming (CB) so as to resist mobile eavesdroppers. Specifically, we formulate an aerial secure communication and energy efficiency multi-objective optimization problem (ASCEE-MOP) to maximize the secrecy rate of the system and to minimize the flight energy consumption of the UAV swarm. To address the non-convex, NP-hard and dynamic ASCEE-MOP, we propose a generative diffusion model-enabled twin delayed deep deterministic policy gradient (GDMTD3) method. Specifically, GDMTD3 leverages an innovative application of diffusion models to determine optimal excitation current weights and position decisions of UAVs. The diffusion models can better capture the complex dynamics and the trade-off of the ASCEE-MOP, thereby yielding promising solutions. Simulation results highlight the superior performance of the proposed approach compared with traditional deployment strategies and some other deep reinforcement learning (DRL) benchmarks. Moreover, performance analysis under various parameter settings of GDMTD3 and different numbers of UAVs verifies the robustness of the proposed approach. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Lee, Walsh, and Wang (2015) – based on Uzzi, Mukherjee, Stringer, and Jones (2013) – and Wang, Veugelers, and Stephan (2017) proposed scores based on cited references (cited journals) data which can be used to measure the novelty of papers (named as novelty scores U and W in this study). Although previous research has used novelty scores in various empirical analyses, no study has been published up to now – to the best of our knowledge – which quantitatively tested the convergent validity of novelty scores: do these scores measure what they propose to measure? Using novelty assessments by faculty members (FMs) at F1000Prime for comparison, we tested the convergent validity of the two novelty scores (U and W). FMs’ assessments not only refer to the quality of biomedical papers, but also to their characteristics (by assigning certain tags to the papers): for example, are the presented findings or formulated hypotheses novel (tags "new findings" and "hypothesis")? We used these and other tags to investigate the convergent validity of both novelty scores. Our study reveals different results for the novelty scores: the results for novelty score U are mostly in agreement with previously formulated expectations. We found, for instance, that for a standard deviation (one unit) increase in novelty score U, the expected number of assignments of the "new finding" tag increase by 7.47%. The results for novelty score W, however, do not reflect convergent validity with the FMs’ assessments: only the results for some tags are in agreement with the expectations. Thus, we propose – based on our results – the use of novelty score U for measuring novelty quantitatively, but question the use of novelty score W. Copyright © 2019, The Authors.
