Recent developments in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and mobile edge computing (MEC) have provided users with flexible and resilient computing services. However, meeting the computing-intensive and latency-sensitive demands of users poses a significant challenge due to the limited resources of UAVs. To address this challenge, we present a multi-objective optimization approach for multi-UAV-assisted MEC systems. First, we formulate a multi-objective optimization problem aiming at minimizing the total task completion delay, reducing the total UAV energy consumption, and maximizing the total amount of offloaded tasks by jointly optimizing task offloading, computation resource allocation, and UAV trajectory control. Since the problem is a mixed-integer non-linear programming (MINLP) and NP-hard problem which is challenging, we propose a joint task offloading, computation resource allocation, and UAV trajectory control (JTORATC) approach to solve the problem. However, since the decision variables of task offloading, computation resource allocation, and UAV trajectory control are coupled with each other, the original problem is split into three sub-problems, i.e., task offloading, computation resource allocation, and UAV trajectory control, which are solved individually to obtain the corresponding decisions. Moreover, the sub-problem of task offloading is solved by using distributed splitting and threshold rounding methods, the sub-problem of computation resource allocation is solved by adopting the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) method, and the sub-problem of UAV trajectory control is solved by employing the successive convex approximation (SCA) method. A Relation-Constraint Link Prediction Model for Dynamic knowledge Graphs with Entity Drift

knowledge Graphs (KGs) often suffer from incompleteness and this issue motivates the task of knowledge Graph Completion (KGC). Traditional KGC models mainly concentrate on static KGs with a fixed set of entities and relations, or dynamic KGs with temporal characteristics, faltering in their generalization to constantly evolving KGs with possible irregular entity drift. Thus, in this paper, we propose a novel link prediction model based on the embedding representation to handle the incompleteness of KGs with entity drift, termed as DCEL. Unlike traditional link prediction, DCEL could generate precise embeddings for drifted entity without imposing any regular temporal characteristic. The drifted entity is added into the KG with its links to the existing entity predicted in an incremental fashion with no requirement to retrain the whole KG for computational efficiency. In terms of DCEL model, it fully takes advantages of unstructured textual description, and is composed of four modules, namely MRC (Machine Reading Comprehension), RCAA (Relation Constraint Attentive Aggregator), RSA (Relation Specific Alignment) and RCEO (Relation Constraint Embedding Optimization). Specifically, the MRC module is first employed to extract short texts from long and redundant descriptions. Then, RCAA is used to aggregate the embeddings of textual description of drifted entity and the pre-trained word embeddings learned from corpus to a single text-based entity embedding while shielding the impact of noise and irrelevant information. After that, RSA is applied to align the text-based entity embedding to graph-based space to obtain the corresponding graph-based entity embedding, and then the learned embeddings are fed into the gate structure to be optimized based on the RCEO to improve the accuracy of representation learning. The miniaturization and integration of beam steering devices have consistently been the focus of the field. Conventional methods alter the eigenmode of the optical cavity by regulating the refractive index. Due to the weak nonlinear effect of the optical system, the device must be sufficiently large to achieve sufficient light modulation. The effective method for miniaturizing beam steering devices currently in use is based on metasurfaces. However, this type of device necessitates the input of a laser source, which precludes the simultaneous generation and control of light in a single device. Here we propose a miniaturized beam steering device that employs mode selection between different bound states in the continuum (BIC) states through phase change material. The device is capable of simultaneously achieving both light generation and beam steering (33°) in a single device with a size of only 25 μm and with a low threshold of 8.9 kW cm-2. Furthermore, it is possible to achieve a significant degree of dynamic wavelength tunability, with a range extending up to 296 nm. This method achieves high-efficient regulation of light properties by dynamically controlling the system’s topological charge, circumventing the problem of weak nonlinearity in traditional methods. Furthermore, the integration of phase change materials with nanolasers enables the direct alteration of lasing properties, which provides a novel idea for dynamic light control. The device process scheme based on phase change materials is straightforward, direct, and highly compatible, which will be advantageous for its intended application. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Dynamic searchable symmetric encryption (DSSE) enables users to delegate the keyword search over dynamically updated encrypted databases to an honest-but-curious server without losing keyword privacy. This paper studies a new and practical security risk to DSSE, namely, secret key compromise (e.g., a user’s secret key is leaked or stolen), which threatens all the security guarantees offered by existing DSSE schemes. To address this open problem, we introduce the notion of searchable encryption with key-update (SEKU) that provides users with the option of non-interactive key updates. We further define the notion of post-compromise secure with respect to leakage functions to study whether DSSE schemes can still provide data security after the client’s secret key is compromised. We demonstrate that post-compromise security is achievable with a proposed protocol called "Bamboo". Interestingly, the leakage functions of Bamboo satisfy the requirements for both forward and backward security. We conduct a performance evaluation of Bamboo using a real-world dataset and compare its runtime efficiency with the existing forward-and-backward secure DSSE schemes. On-edge multi-task transfer learning: Model and practice with data-driven task allocation

On edge devices, data scarcity occurs as a common problem where transfer learning serves as a widely-suggested remedy. Nevertheless, transfer learning imposes heavy computation burden to the resource-constrained edge devices. Existing task allocation works usually assume all submitted tasks are equally important, leading to inefficient resource allocation at a task level when directly applied in Multi-task Transfer Learning (MTL). To address these issues, we first reveal that it is crucial to measure the impact of tasks on overall decision performance improvement and quantify task importance. We then show that task allocation with task importance for MTL (TATIM) is a variant of NP-complete Knapsack problem, where the complicated computation to solve this problem needs to be conducted repeatedly under varying contexts. To solve TATIM with high computational efficiency, we propose a data-driven Cooperative Task Allocation (DCTA) approach. Finally, we evaluate the performance of DCTA by not only a trace-driven simulation, but also a new comprehensive real-world AIOps case study which bridges model and practice via a new architecture and main components design within AIOps system. Extensive experiments show that our DCTA reduces 3.24 times of processing time, and saves 48.4% energy consumption compared with the state-of-the-art when solving TATIM. Multi-band radiomap reconstruction (MB-RMR) is a key component in wireless communications for tasks such as spectrum management and network planning. However, traditional machine-learning-based MB-RMR methods, which rely heavily on simulated data or complete structured ground truth, face significant deployment challenges. These challenges stem from the differences between simulated and actual data, as well as the scarcity of real-world measurements. To address these challenges, our study presents RadioGAT, a novel framework based on Graph Attention Network (GAT) tailored for MBRMR within a single area, eliminating the need for multiregion datasets. RadioGAT innovatively merges model-based spatial-spectral correlation encoding with data-driven radiomap generalization, thus minimizing the reliance on extensive data sources. The framework begins by transforming sparse multiband data into a graph structure through an innovative encoding strategy that leverages radio propagation models to capture the spatial-spectral correlation inherent in the data. This graph-based representation not only simplifies data handling but also enables tailored label sampling during training, significantly enhancing the framework's adaptability for deployment. Subsequently, The GAT is employed to generalize the radiomap information across various frequency bands. Extensive experiments using raytracing datasets based on real-world environments have demonstrated RadioGAT's enhanced accuracy in supervised learning settings and its robustness in semi-supervised scenarios. These results underscore RadioGAT's effectiveness and practicality for MBRMR in environments with limited data availability. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper, we study the design of secure communication for time division duplex multi-cell multi-user massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems with active eavesdropping. We assume that the eavesdropper actively attacks the uplink pilot transmission and the uplink data transmission before eavesdropping the downlink data transmission of the users. We exploit both the received pilots and the received data signals for uplink channel estimation. We show analytically that when the number of transmit antennas and the length of the data vector both tend to infinity, the signals of the desired user and the eavesdropper lie in different eigenspaces of the received signal matrix at the base station provided that their signal powers are different. This finding reveals that decreasing (instead of increasing) the desired user’s signal power might be an effective approach to combat a strong active attack from an eavesdropper. Inspired by this observation, we propose a data-aided secure downlink transmission scheme and derive an asymptotic achievable secrecy sum-rate expression for the proposed design. For the special case of a single-cell single-user system with independent and identically distributed fading, the obtained expression reveals that the secrecy rate scales logarithmically with the number of transmit antennas. This is the same scaling law as for the achievable rate of a single-user massive MIMO system in the absence of eavesdroppers. Numerical results indicate that the proposed scheme achieves significant secrecy rate gains compared to alternative approaches based on matched filter precoding with artificial noise generation and null space transmission.
