In recent years, machine learning potentials (MLPs) have become indispensable tools in physics, chemistry, and materials science, driving the development of software packages for molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and related applications. These packages, typically built on specific machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX, face integration challenges when advanced applications demand communication across different frameworks. The previous TensorFlow-based implementation of DeePMD-kit exemplified these limitations. In this work, we introduce DeePMD-kit version 3, a significant update featuring a multi-backend framework that supports TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX, and PaddlePaddle backends, and demonstrate the versatility of this architecture through the integration of other MLPs packages and of Differentiable Molecular Force Field. This architecture allows seamless backend switching with minimal modifications, enabling users and developers to integrate DeePMD-kit with other packages using different machine learning frameworks. This innovation facilitates the development of more complex and interoperable workflows, paving the way for broader applications of MLPs in scientific research. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. Joint resource management for MC-NOMA: A deep reinforcement learning approach

This paper presents a novel and effective deep reinforcement learning (DRL)-based approach to addressing joint resource management (JRM) in a practical multi-carrier non-orthogonal multiple access (MC-NOMA) system, where hardware sensitivity and imperfect successive interference cancellation (SIC) are considered. We first formulate the JRM problem to maximize the weighted-sum system throughput. Then, the JRM problem is decoupled into two iterative subtasks: subcarrier assignment (SA, including user grouping) and power allocation (PA). Each subtask is a sequential decision process. Invoking a deep deterministic policy gradient algorithm, our proposed DRL-based JRM (DRL-JRM) approach jointly performs the two subtasks, where the optimization objective and constraints of the subtasks are addressed by a new joint reward and internal reward mechanism. A multi-agent structure and a convolutional neural network are adopted to reduce the complexity of the PA subtask. We also tailor the neural network structure for the stability and convergence of DRL-JRM. Corroborated by extensive experiments, the proposed DRL-JRM scheme is superior to existing alternatives in terms of system throughput and resistance to interference, especially in the presence of many users and strong inter-cell interference. 3D reconstruction is a long-standing research topic in the photogrammetric and computer vision communities;although a plethora of open-source and commercial solutions for 3D reconstruction have been released in the last few years, several open challenges and limitations still exist. Undoubtedly, deep learning algorithms have demonstrated great potential in several remote sensing tasks, including image-based 3D reconstruction. State-of-the-art monocular and stereo algorithms leverage deep learning techniques and achieve increased performance in depth estimation and 3D reconstruction. However, one of the limitations of such methods is that they highly rely on large training sets that are often tedious to obtain;even when available, they typically refer to indoor, close-range scenarios and low-resolution images. Especially while considering UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) scenarios, such data are not available and domain adaptation is not a trivial challenge. To fill this gap, the UAV-based multi-sensor dataset for geospatial research (UseGeo - https://***/home) is introduced in this paper. It contains both image and LiDAR data and aims to support relevant research in photogrammetry and computer vision with a useful training set for both stereo and monocular 3D reconstruction algorithms. In this regard, the dataset provides ground truth data for both point clouds and depth maps. In addition, UseGeo can be also a valuable dataset for other tasks such as feature extraction and matching, aerial triangulation, or image and LiDAR co-registration. The paper introduces the UseGeo dataset and validates some state-of-the-art algorithms to assess their usability for both monocular and multi-view 3D reconstruction. © 2024 The Authors

A resilient generative model in few-shot question answering

In few-shot question answering (QA), only a limited number of training cases are available to tune pre-trained language models (PLMs) for fitting to the task objective. Because a PLM often contains a large number of parameters optimized by a pretraining objective, it is difficult to bridge the gap between the two optimization objectives with a few training cases, which leads to the overfitting problem. Furthermore, in the decoding process of a generative model, sometimes rebuilding an answer to a question is more challenging than directly choosing from an input, because the ability to rebuild requires more informative knowledge and may generate hallucinatory outputs. Motivated by the above discussions, we propose a resilient deep model to support the few-shot question answering tasks. Instead of ambitiously optimizing a full generative model with a few training cases, the resilient model contains a partial learning module and an answer choosing module to reduce the problems caused by a lack of training cases. This has the advantage to enhance the few-shot learning in question answering. Our method was evaluated using several few-shot QA public evaluation datasets. It achieves a state-of-the-art performance, considerably outperforming related works. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

Recently, many websites encourage users to fill in reviews on items and services to improve the quality of personalized recommendation, because of the rich sentiment information hidden in user reviews. However, most existing recommendation methods based on reviews heavily emphasize extracting the rich sentiment information from reviews by using deep learning technologies as far as possible and always ignore the effects of temporal dynamical of user preferences. To address the above issues, we propose DSL- TR, a deep sentiment learning framework for the temporal-aware recommendation, using an intricate combination of bidirectional long short-term memory (BLSTM) and Convolution Neural Network (CNN). It consists of four layers: embedding layer, BLSTM layer, CNN layer and feature fusion layer. In the embedding layer, we explicitly combine the time information in the review embedding layer by regarding the review time as an independent factor. Then, we utilize the BLSTM and CNN networks to extract the long and short-terms of latent features of user and item in parallel. Finally, the factorization machine technique, as a rating predictor, is introduced on the last layer to estimate the rating based on the learned user and item latent features. We conduct extensive experiments on Amazon's four data sets. The results demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms several state-of-art methods consistently.

In the past two decades, analyzing the information network has been intensively studied from various disciplines. Small world property and scale-free property prevail in network science research. The comparison and classification of different kinds of graphs are extremely important. However, how to design a robust and accurate classification with deep learning techniques for network property still lack enough attention, which is a vital task in various application scenarios. In this paper, we proposed the reliable network property classifier based on graph embedding(RNC) to classify the network property (scale free or small world property). In order to process non-euclidean data, we embedded each network into an image and use dimensional reduction, rasterization, and convolutional neural networks to complete the classification problem. The method can effectively accomplish classification tasks in not only artificial networks but also real networks. Besides, RNC wins greatly in terms of robustness on real networks, showing the robustness of RNC against the incomplete structure of the network. © 2019 IEEE.

Unraveling the neural dynamics of mathematical interference in english reading: A novel approach with deep learning and fNIRS data

English has emerged as the predominant global language, driving efforts to optimize its acquisition through interdisciplinary cognitive research. While behavioral studies suggest a link between English learning and mathematical cognition, the neural mechanisms underlying this relationship remain poorly understood. To bridge this gap, the present study employs functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to construct a novel dataset on mathematical interference in English acquisition. Utilizing this dataset, a novel deep learning model named AC-LSTM is proposed, amalgamating Transformer and LSTM architectures to identify residual mathematical cognition during the English learning process. The AC-LSTM model achieves an exceptional accuracy rate of 99.8 %, surpassing other machine learning and deep learning models. Moreover, a multi-class classification experiment is conducted to discern algebra, geometry, and quantitative reasoning interference, with the AC-LSTM model achieving the highest accuracy of 75.9 % in this classification task. Furthermore, crucial brain channels for interference detection are pinpointed through grid search, and alterations in vital brain regions (R-Broca and L-Broca) are unveiled via association rule analysis. By integrating fNIRS, deep learning, and data mining techniques, this study delves into cognitive interference in English learning, providing valuable insights for educational neuroscience and data mining research. © 2025 The Authors

Nowadays, with the development of web services, the survival of online service has captured public attention significantly. Future prediction of business is crucial to the shopkeepers. Predicting how the business will develop and explaining what key factors are leading to it are two most important tasks. Existing literatures usually tackle only one of these two tasks, ignoring that they are two closely related tasks and complement each other. In this paper, we propose a review-based neural model, named Deep Concept-aware Model (DCA), to predict restaurants' future status and provide explainable sentences simultaneously in an end2end framework. Specifically, we use co-attention to select concepts and implement prediction and explanation tasks through Factorization Machine and Gated Recurrent Unit, respectively. We conduct extensive experiments on three Chinese cities' datasets. The proposed joint model outperforms the state-of-the-art baseline methods for both prediction (average 40.96% improvement in AUC) and explanation (average 9.72% improvement in BLEU and 86.05% in Precision metric of ROUGE).

Practical Interference Exploitation Precoding without Symbol-by-Symbol Optimization: A Block-Level Approach

In this paper, we propose a constructive interference (CI)-based block-level precoding (CI-BLP) approach for the downlink of a multi-user multiple-input single-output (MU-MISO) communication system. Contrary to existing CI precoding approaches which have to be designed on a symbol-by-symbol level, here a constant precoding matrix is applied to a block of symbol slots within a channel coherence interval, thus significantly reducing the computational costs over traditional CI-based symbol-level precoding (CI-SLP) as the CI-BLP optimization problem only needs to be solved once per block. For both PSK and QAM modulation, we formulate an optimization problem to maximize the minimum CI effect over the block subject to a block- rather than symbol-level power budget. We mathematically derive the optimal precoding matrix for CI-BLP as a function of the Lagrange multipliers in closed form. By formulating the dual problem, the original CI-BLP optimization problem is further shown to be equivalent to a quadratic programming (QP) optimization. Numerical results validate our derivations, and show that the proposed CI-BLP scheme achieves improved performance over the traditional CI-SLP method, thanks to the relaxed power constraint over the considered block of symbol slots. Recently, the electrical switching of antiferromagnetic (AFM) order has been intensively investigated because of its application potential in data storage technology. Herein, we report the current switching of the AFM Néel vector in epitaxial Pd/CoO films as a function of temperature. Using combined measurements of Hall resistance (HR) and x-ray magnetic linear dichroism (XMLD) below and above the AFM Néel temperature, we unambiguously identified both magnetic and nonmagnetic contributions to the current-induced HR change. Through magnetic field-induced HR measurements, we quantitatively determined the percentage of current-induced CoO spin switching. Further, we showed that the thermal effect dominated the CoO magnetic switching more in samples with a thinner Pd layer and that samples with a thicker CoO layer required higher thermal activation for current-induced magnetic switching. These results provide a clear and comprehensive picture of current-induced AFM spin switching across the AFM Néel temperature.
