Floor plans can provide valuable prior information that helps enhance the accuracy of indoor positioning systems. However, existing research typically faces challenges in efficiently leveraging floor plan information and applying it to complex indoor layouts. To fully exploit information from floor plans for positioning, we propose a floor plan-assisted fusion positioning algorithm (FP-BP) using Bluetooth low energy (BLE) and pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR). In the considered system, a user holding a smartphone walks through a positioning area with BLE beacons installed on the ceiling, and can locate himself in real time. In particular, FP-BP consists of two phases. In the offline phase, FP-BP programmatically extracts map features from a stylized floor plan based on their binary masks, and constructs a mapping function to identify the corresponding map feature of any given position on the map. In the online phase, FP-BP continuously computes BLE positions and PDR results from BLE signals and smartphone sensors, where a novel grid-based maximum likelihood estimation (GML) algorithm is introduced to enhance BLE positioning. Then, a particle filter is used to fuse them and obtain an initial estimate. Finally, FP-BP performs post-position correction to obtain the final position based on its specific map feature. Experimental results show that FP-BP can achieve a real-time mean positioning accuracy of 1.19 m, representing an improvement of over 28% compared to existing floor plan-fused baseline algorithms. FaceBench: A Multi-View Multi-Level Facial Attribute VQA dataset for Benchmarking Face Perception MLLMs

Multimodal large language models (MLLMs) have demonstrated remarkable capabilities in various tasks. However, effectively evaluating these MLLMs on face perception remains largely unexplored. To address this gap, we introduce FaceBench, a dataset featuring hierarchical multi-view and multi-level attributes specifically designed to assess the comprehensive face perception abilities of MLLMs. Initially, we construct a hierarchical facial attribute structure, which encompasses five views with up to three levels of attributes, totaling over 210 attributes and 700 attribute values. Based on the structure, the proposed FaceBench consists of 49,919 visual question-answering (VQA) pairs for evaluation and 23,841 pairs for fine-tuning. Moreover, we further develop a robust face perception MLLM baseline, Face-LLaVA, by training with our proposed face VQA data. Extensive experiments on various mainstream MLLMs and Face-LLaVA are conducted to test their face perception ability, with results also compared against human performance. The results reveal that, the existing MLLMs are far from satisfactory in understanding the fine-grained facial attributes, while our Face-LLaVA significantly outperforms existing open-source models with a small amount of training data and is comparable to commercial ones like GPT-4o and Gemini. Stable consumer electronic systems can assist traffic better. Good traffic consumer electronic systems require collaborative work between traffic algorithms and hardware. However, performance of popular traffic algorithms containing vehicle detection methods based on deep networks via learning data relation rather than learning differences in different lighting and occlusions is limited. In this paper, we present a dynamic Transformer network for vehicle detection (DTNet). DTNet utilizes a dynamic convolution to guide a deep network to dynamically generate weights to enhance adaptability of an obtained detector. Taking into relations of different information account, a mixed attention mechanism based channel attention and Transformer is exploited to strengthen relations of channels and pixels to extract more salient information for vehicle detection. To overcome the drawback of difference in an image account, a translation-variant convolution relies on spatial location information to refine obtained structural information for vehicle detection. Task Delay and Energy Consumption Minimization for Low-altitude MEC via Evolutionary Multi-objective Deep Reinforcement Learning

The low-altitude economy (LAE), driven by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other aircraft, has revolutionized fields such as transportation, agriculture, and environmental monitoring. In the upcoming six-generation (6G) era, UAV-assisted mobile edge computing (MEC) is particularly crucial in challenging environments such as mountainous or disaster-stricken areas. The computation task offloading problem is one of the key issues in UAV-assisted MEC, primarily addressing the trade-off between minimizing the task delay and the energy consumption of the UAV. In this paper, we consider a UAV-assisted MEC system where the UAV carries the edge servers to facilitate task offloading for ground devices (GDs), and formulate a calculation delay and energy consumption multi-objective optimization problem (CDECMOP) to simultaneously improve the performance and reduce the cost of the system. Then, by modeling the formulated problem as a multi-objective Markov decision process (MOMDP), we propose a multi-objective deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithm within an evolutionary framework to dynamically adjust the weights and obtain non-dominated policies. Moreover, to ensure stable convergence and improve performance, we incorporate a target distribution learning (TDL) algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can better balance multiple optimization objectives and obtain superior non-dominated solutions compared to other methods. Fed-GAN: Federated Generative Adversarial Network with Privacy-Preserving for Cross-Device Scenarios

Huge amounts of data from various sources are substantial to dependable distributed machine learning, especially for trustworthy federated learning (FL). However, existing FL methods are difficult to collect enough data for training the global model more accurately, especially in cross-device scenarios. In this paper, we propose a new federated generative adversarial network empowered by differential privacy and knowledge transfer named Fed-GAN, which can be used to address the problem of data shortage and prevent generator leakage from resource-constrained devices, as well as generate high-quality synthetic data while ensuring strict DP guarantees. Different from other generative model methods, our Fed-GAN framework can achieve efficient and secure generative model training and limited permission for resource-constrained devices to prevent them from leaking or misusing the generator. In addition, we propose a pHash-KT method for our Fed-GAN framework, which selects potentially high-quality data through the knowledge of each client for improving the utility of synthetic data. Our FedGAN framework satisfies (Formula presented)-DP, and also has high resistance when number of adversaries is 10%-70% of the total number of clients. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our Fed-GAN framework not only generates high-quality synthetic data, but also provides strict DP guarantees, compared with other generative model methods. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

NOMANet: A Graph Neural Network Enabled Power Allocation Scheme for NOMA

This paper proposes a graph neural network (GNN) enabled power allocation scheme for non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) networks. In particular, a downlink scenario with one base station serving multiple users over several subchannels is considered, where the number of subchannels is less than the number of users, and thus, some users have to share a subchannel via NOMA. Our goal is to maximize the system energy efficiency subject to the rate requirement of each user and the overall budget. We propose a deep learning based approach termed NOMA net (NOMANet) to address the considered problem. Particularly, NOMANet is GNN-based, which maps channel state information to the desired power allocation scheme for all subchannels. The multi-head attention and the residual/dense connection are adopted to enhance the feature extraction. The output of NOMANet is guaranteed to be feasible via the customized activation function and the penalty method. Numerical results show that NOMANet trained unsupervised achieves performance close to that of the successive convex approximation method but with a faster inference speed by about 700 times. Fuzzy Granule Density-Based Outlier Detection with Multi-Scale Granular Balls

Outlier detection refers to the identification of anomalous samples that deviate significantly from the distribution of normal data and has been extensively studied and used in a variety of practical tasks. However, most unsupervised outlier detection methods are carefully designed to detect specified outliers, while real-world data may be entangled with different types of outliers. In this study, we propose a fuzzy rough sets-based multi-scale outlier detection method to identify various types of outliers. Specifically, a novel fuzzy rough sets-based method that integrates relative fuzzy granule density is first introduced to improve the capability of detecting local outliers. Then, a multi-scale view generation method based on granular-ball computing is proposed to collaboratively identify group outliers at different levels of granularity. Moreover, reliable outliers and inliers determined by the three-way decision are used to train a weighted support vector machine to further improve the performance of outlier detection. The proposed method innovatively transforms unsupervised outlier detection into a semi-supervised classification problem and for the first time explores the fuzzy rough sets-based outlier detection from the perspective of multi-scale granular balls, allowing for high adaptability to different types of outliers. Extensive experiments carried out on both artificial and UCI datasets demonstrate that the proposed outlier detection method significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art methods, improving the results by at least 8.48% in terms of the Area Under the ROC Curve (AUROC) index. JGC-IAGCL: Fusing joint graph convolution and intent-aware graph contrastive learning for explainable recommendation

Graph contrastive learning (GCL) enhances recommendation accuracy by leveraging self-supervised features to refine node representations from large-scale unlabeled data. Traditional GCL-based recommendation models typically construct contrastive views via graph augmentation (e.g., stochastic node/edge dropout) or embedding-space perturbation, aiming to maximize representation consistency. However, these methods struggle to effectively model and interpret user preferences and consumption intents, limiting explainability and recommendation performance. To address these challenges, we propose JGC-IAGCL (Joint Graph Convolution and Intent-Aware Graph Contrastive Learning), an explainable recommendation framework. JGC-IAGCL integrates joint graph convolution to capture implicit user preferences and employs intent-aware graph contrastive learning to extract explicit user intents from user–item interactions. By fusing these features, our method generates evenly distributed, intent-propensity-aware user/item representations. Theoretical analysis shows that JGC-IAGCL mitigates popularity bias while enhancing the exposure of long-tail items. Extensive experiments on four highly sparse public datasets validate its effectiveness, demonstrating superior recommendation accuracy and improved interpretability. © 2025

Air Pollution Monitoring By Integrating Local and Global Information in Self-Adaptive Multiscale Transform Domain

As the deadliest form of pollution, air pollution had a prolonged severe damage to the human health and life safety of nearly 99% of the world's population. Facing to the problem that billions of tons of pollutants discharged into the air per year by industrial activities, this paper proposed a novel image-based air pollution monitor (IAPM) by incorporating local and global information in the self-adaptive multiscale transform domain, so as to achieve the timely and effective leakage detection of typical air pollutants from a single image. To be specific, this paper first developed a screen-shaped module according to two significant findings in visual neuroscience, which include the high sensitivity of human eyes to horizontal and vertical stimuli and the center-surround inhibition, by designing and fusing the square module, horizontal strip module and vertical strip module parallelly for simulating the behaviour of human eyes to extract local features. Second, the learnable weights and proportional mapping were applied to incorporate the screen-shaped module and lightweight vision transformer as backbone, towards more richly exploiting and fusing local and global information just as the way a brain perceives external stimuli. Third, a new self-adaptive multiscale transform domain method was devised based on two motivations from the visual characteristics of multiscale perception and the brain characteristics of self-adaptive domain transform to modify the backbone by using the operations of pooling and pointwise convolution. Extensive experiments implemented on the datasets of carbon particulate matters and ethylene leakage confirmed the superior monitoring performance of the proposed IAPM model beyond the state-of-the-art (SOTA) peers by an accuracy gain of about 4%. Furthermore, the proposed IAPM model only required 0.089 GFLOPs and 0.15 million model parameters, remarkably outperforming SOTA competitors in computational efficiency and storage resources. © 1999-2

Optimizing AoI in RIS-aided Wireless Powered Backscatter-Active Communication Networks

In this paper, we investigate the average age of information (AoI) in wireless powered backscatter-active communication networks (WPBACN) assisted by a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS). To minimize the average AoI, we jointly optimize the phase shift of the RIS, the backscatter-active communication time allocation factor, and the transmitted power of IoT devices. Since the optimization problem is composed of coupled variables, the optimization variables are implicit in the objective function and the problem is non-convex, which makes it challenging to solve. To address this challenge, we decompose the problem into an RIS phase shift optimization subproblem and a joint power and time allocation subproblem. Simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme has a significant performance advantage in reducing the average AoI compared to the scheme using random RIS phase shifts and the scheme without RIS and supports the challenging quality of service required by real-time information update applications. © 1967-2012 IEEE.
