This position paper, via rationalizing the potentials of carrying out a carefully crafted research project, argues that the three fields of enterprise information system, business process management, and digital records management should join forces in serving the needs of organizations, regardless of their types. Market Value of Innovation: An Empirical Analysis on China's Stock Market

Studies on market value of innovation investment have been based on US and European database. However, few re-searchers investigate Chinese stock market about the market value of firm's expected R&D performance. In this paper, we use constructed panel dataset from three representative stock markets in China: Main Board Market, Small and Media-sized Enterprise Board Market and Growth Enterprise Market and then use intangible assets increment as innovation indicator to examine the innovation investment-firm performance association in both manufacturing and service industries by a dataset over an 11-year period covering 1455 firms to evaluate the differences in their relative contribution to market performance. By comparing the results of these three stock markets, we find out the effect of R&D investment and increasing R&D input to market value is insignificant in all three stock markets, resulting from the weak protection for minority investors and loose regulation of information disclosure. Different constructions of intangible assets of listed firms on MBM and GEM account for market's relatively low efficiency to reflect real value of R&D investment. On industry-level, we conclude that R&D investment in both service and manufacturing sector contributes positively to market performance of firms and R&D investment in service industry shows stronger and more significant linkage to market value than manufacturing industry.

Optimizing multiple ontology alignments through hybrid evolutionary algorithm based on a new elitist strategy

In this paper, we propose a hybrid evolutionary algorithm based on a new elitist strategy to address the problem of optimizing the multiple ontology alignments simultaneously. Comparing with the conventional approach, our method is able to deal with multiple pair of ontologies at a time, and through a new elitist strategy, avoid the bias improvement caused by f-measure. Experimental results show that our approach is effective. © 2016 ICIC International.

Cluster based hybrid key management scheme for ad hoc networks

Secure communication is part of the most important aspects for ad hoc networks. One cluster based Hybrid key Management Scheme is proposed in this paper for ad hoc networks. The clusters are constructed by the R-hop connected dominating sets based Partition Algorithm, which is only with the knowledge of local connectivity information. Furthermore, Hybrid key Management Scheme can be seen as an integration of both the asymmetric key and symmetric key cryptography. The asymmetric one is based on the elliptic curve cryptosystem, which is an asymmetric one. However, inter cluster key management is based on symmetric key encryption. Experimental results show this scheme is reliable and it is able to achieve higher success of landing ratio than other comparable algorithms. © 2016 ICIC International.

It is necessary to take much time and resources for compiling an input-output table, and there inevitably exists time lag in all the finished tables, which has greatly weakened the analysis and application function of input-output table. Though the development of techniques of adjusting input coefficient has relieved disadvantage of time lag to some extent, yet this kind of methods is still inapplicable to predictive problem. Consider that internal constraints of the table, this paper proposes a new approach based on the sequential tables series to solve the problem of forecasting the future input-output table.

Network attacks are one of the biggest threats in cloud security. According to the characteristics of network attacks in cloud computing, an improved k-means algorithm to optimize the clustering number k by function is proposed. The improved k-means algorithm is applied to the intrusion detection model. In the data mining detection module, the improved clustering analysis algorithm is used to adapt and detect those network attacks of different types, which has effectively solved the problems existing in intrusion detection of cloud computing, such as large amount of alarms and high rate of false alarm. Experiment results show that the improved clustering analysis algorithm applied to network attack detection in cloud computing can detect the network attacks efficiently. © 2016, ICIC Express Letters Office. This paper measures marketing ability and financial performance and examines what cause the overall operations inefficiency based on the operational process decomposition. The empirical research on e-portal and e-commerce company show that e-portal company has better marketing ability while e-commerce firm has better financial performance. For e-commerce company, it is marketing ability conversion inefficiency to lead to the overall operations inefficiency. In contrast, for e-portal company, lower financial performance conversion efficiency causes the overall operations inefficiency.

A hybrid model for explaining older adult' continuance intention toward SNSs

Due to the rapid growth of social net services (SNSs), research into SNSs continuance usage has recently emerged as an important issue in information systems adaption. This study develops an integrated model based on the expectation-confirmation model (ECM), the technology acceptance model (TAM), and the theory of planned behavior (TPB), and apply them into the context of older adults' continuance intention toward SNSs. The hypothesized model is validated empirically using a sample collected from 250 older adults who had prior experience with SNSs and was tested against the proposed research model using structure equation modeling. Analysis results demonstrate that satisfaction has the most significant effect on older adults' continuance intention, followed by perceived usefulness, attitude, subject norm and perceived behavioral control. The results of these findings for SNSs practitioners are discussed at the end of this work. © 2015 SERSC.

Road network modeling with layered abstraction for path discovery in vehicle navigation systems

Algorithms for path planning have recently drawn renewed attention from researchers due to the advances of intelligent transportation applications. The difference on path planning between past and nowadays is the complexity of dynamic transportation network. This paper focuses on the road network modeling to speed up real time path discovery in dynamic and complex road networks. On the basis of community detection (partitioning), an agglomerative hierarchical clustering algorithm with greedy strategy is proposed in this paper. The algorithm performs a hierarchical network abstraction to make a layered road network with largest community modularity. Static and dynamic information of the real time road network conditions is concerned in the process of network abstraction. Based on the road network layering, the performance of path discovery can be improved due to the reduction of unnecessary searching. The performance of the proposed algorithm was evaluated and compared with the well-known Dijkstra and A-star algorithms. The result shows that the proposed algorithm performs better than the other two algorithms. © 2016.
