Accurate analysis of patients' feedback on various medical aspects is of great importance for improving the quality of healthcare services. In this paper, we address the task of extracting aspects and opinions by adopting a generative end-to-end deep learning model. And we address the challenge of limited high-quality labeled data in aspect-based sentiment analysis by introducing a data augmentation method. To evaluate the effectiveness of our proposed generative model and data augmentation technique in the healthcare domain, we collected reviews related to diagnosis and treatment from online health communities(OHC) and verified the effectiveness of the proposed model. The experimental results demonstrate the superiority of generative models in complex aspect-based sentiment analysis tasks. Furthermore, we find that our data augmentation method is effective in enhancing the experimental outcomes. Our work contributes to the advancement of natural language processing techniques in the healthcare domain, and it has the potential to improve the quality of healthcare services through more fine-grained analysis of patients' feedback. © 2023, The Authors. Token-Event-Role Structure-based Multi-Channel Document-Level Event Extraction

Document-level event extraction is a long-standing challenging information retrieval problem involving a sequence of sub-tasks: entity extraction, event type judgment, and event type-specific multi-event extraction. However, addressing the problem as multiple learning tasks leads to increased model complexity. Also, existing methods insufficiently utilize the correlation of entities crossing different events, resulting in limited event extraction performance. This paper introduces a novel framework for document-level event extraction, incorporating a new data structure called token-event-role and a multi-channel argument role prediction module. The proposed data structure enables our model to uncover the primary role of tokens in multiple events, facilitating a more comprehensive understanding of event relationships. By leveraging the multichannel prediction module, we transform entity and multi-event extraction into a single task of predicting token-event pairs, thereby reducing the overall parameter size and enhancing model efficiency. The results demonstrate that our approach outperforms the state-of-the-art method by 9.5 percentage points in terms of the F1 score, highlighting its superior performance in event extraction. Furthermore, an ablation study confirms the significant value of the proposed data structure in improving event extraction tasks, further validating its importance in enhancing the overall performance of the framework. Numerous movie reviews on the internet can be used to analyze audience experiences of movies and provide inspiration for the operation and production of movies. In this work, we integrate and match the review data on Douban and the box office data on the website ***, and utilize the topic model in natural language processing to determine the number of each movie review topics, then establish an regression equation to analyze the relationship between the number of topics and movie box office. Our analysis shows a significant positive correlation between film box office and the number of movie review topics, and we have provided an explanation for this. Finally, we also analyzed the practical application value of this work. © 2024 The Authors.

Developing IP product has become a common differentiation strategy for retailers to attract customers and remain competence strength. This study uses empirical model to relate consumer characteristics with IP product purchase. The results show that consumers shopping on weekends are more likely to buy IP products, and consumers who have stocking behavior are less likely to purchase IP products. Consumers who are members of the retailer also have lower probability to buy IP products. These findings provide suggestions for the retailers who want to apply differentiation strategy by introducing co-branded IP products. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V. The existing emotion cause pair extraction models do not improve the performance of emotion cause pair extraction by incorporating external knowledge. In this work, we propose an emotion-cause pair extraction model based on knowledge transfer (ECPE-KT), in which knowledge is utilized to obtain explicit knowledge encoding of text. Subsequently, the implicit knowledge encoding of clauses is obtained by the transfer of external sentiment classification corpus. Moreover, conduct filtering via adding the relative position and prediction probability to the representation of clause semantic features. Transformer with window mechanism is used to optimize the calculation pressure. Coreference resolution aims at linking all mentions that refer to the same entity, which are widely adopted in many biomedical and bioinformatics tasks, such as biomedical knowledge graph construction and metabolic pathway integration. Many recent studies focus on improving neural model structures. However, we argue that a practical method that integrates commonsense knowledge can further improve coreference resolution performance, because commonsense delivers extra prior knowledge for reasoning and can enhance related representations, rather than naive mention-context occurrence modeling. In this work, we propose an effective method to integrate external commonsense knowledge into a neural coreference resolution model. Specially, a gated attention mechanism is employed in our method to leverage commonsense according to different contexts. By using ConceptNet as the knowledge base in three span-ranking backbone models, the models can yield significant performance gains on used datasets. We also achieve improvements in tasks of long-term mention detection and cross-sentence coreferences after incorporating knowledge.

Biomedical relation extraction seeks to automatically extract biomedical relations from biomedical text, which plays an important role in biomedical studies. However, constructing high-quality biomedical annotation data is not only time-consuming but also requires a high level of knowledge in the biomedical field. To alleviate this problem, Semi-supervised Biomedical Relation Extraction aims to extract relation facts from the limited labeled data and the more readily available unlabeled samples. Existing works can be roughly categorized as self-training methods and self-ensembling methods. The former aims to generate pseudo labels, which may lead to the gradual drift problem. The latter aims to encourage the output of one model to be consistent with the other model, where the acquisition of the model is tedious. To alleviate these issues, we propose a novel Uncertainty-Guided Mutual Consistency Training framework(UG-MCT) for semi-supervised Biomedical relation extraction. Specifically, our framework consists of two models with the same structure, which differ only when updating their weights, and then an intersecting pseudo-label mechanism is designed to convert the prediction discrepancies of the two models into mutual consistency training loss, thus promoting the consistency of model predictions. In addition, we utilize uncertainty as guided information to assist the model in focusing on the confident pseudo labels and mitigate the noise of inaccurate pseudo labeling during training. Thus, our model is very simple and efficient while mitigating the noise introduced by pseudo-labels. UG-MCT is evaluated on multiple datasets in different settings and the experimental results demonstrate that our method is highly effective in semi-supervised biomedical relation extraction compared to the state-of-the-art.

Recent advances in single image super-resolution (SISR) have achieved remarkable performance through deep learning. However, the high computational cost hinders the deployment of SISR models on edge devices. Instead of proposing new SISR models, a new trend is emerging to improve network efficiency by reducing parameters, FLOPs, and inference time through slight modifications to the original models. However, recent methods usually focus on reducing only one of three metrics, i.e., FLOPs, parameters and inference time, which inevitably increases the other two metrics. In this paper, we propose a novel Adaptive Student Inference Network (ASIN) on popular SISR models, which aims at reducing FLOPs and inference time while maintaining the number of parameters and restoring clearer high-resolution images. Specifically, our ASIN divides a SISR model into three components (head, body and tail) and adopts various strategies for each part. For head and tail parts, to ensure the restored images contain more detailed information, a novel auxiliary Enhanced Teacher Network (ETNet) is designed, which is trained with the ground-truth images to obtain more prior knowledge to guide student network to extract more accurate textures using a new knowledge distillation method. For the body part, owing to the varying difficulties of the reconstructions in different regions, we propose an Adaptive Depth Predicted Module (ADPM) to dynamically shorten average depth of network to reduce the computational cost of overall network. Extensive experiments on two datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and state-of-the-art performance of our ASIN compared to its counterparts.

SSL(Semi-supervised learning) is widely used in machine learning, which leverages labeled and unlabeled data to improve model performance. SSL aims to optimize class mutual information, but noisy pseudo-labels introduce false class information due to the scarcity of labels. Therefore, these algorithms often need significant training time to refine pseudo-labels for performance improvement iteratively. To tackle this challenge, we propose a novel plug-and-play method named ASCL(Accelerating Semi-Supervised Learning via Contrastive Learning). This method combines contrastive learning with uncertainty-based selection for performance improvement and accelerates the convergence of SSL algorithms. Contrastive learning initially emphasizes the mutual information between samples as a means to decrease dependence on pseudo-labels. Subsequently, it gradually turns to maximizing the mutual information between classes, aligning with the objective of semi-supervised learning. Uncertainty-based selection provides a robust mechanism for acquiring pseudo-labels. The combination of the contrastive learning module and the uncertainty-based selection module forms a virtuous cycle to improve the performance of the proposed model. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ASCL outperforms state-of-the-art methods in terms of both convergence efficiency and performance. In the experimental scenario where only one label is assigned per class in the CIFAR-10 dataset, the application of ASCL to Pseudo-label, UDA (Unsupervised data Augmentation for Consistency Training), and Fixmatch benefits substantial improvements in classification accuracy. Specifically, the results demonstrate notable improvements in respect of 16.32%, 6.9%, and 24.43% when compared to the original outcomes. Moreover, the required training time is reduced by almost 50%. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.
