Multiple electric vehicles simultaneously connected to a distribution load network will significantly impact the stability of the power grid. This paper proposes an improved Honey-badger algorithm (IHBA) through elite reverse learning, spiral update, and wild dog survival strategies to optimize the orderly charging of electric vehicles (EV). Objective functions of EV charge orderly planning are taken by using load fluctuation satisfaction, user cost satisfaction, and user convenience satisfaction to achieve the high efficiency of orderly charging. The benchmark test function and the electric vehicle se-quential charging problem were employed to evaluate the proposed IHBA approach. The obtained results are compared with the other algorithms in the literature, which indicate that the IHBA algorithm does not only provides more accurate outcome but better con-vergence speed than the other competitors. © 2022;Taiwan Ubiquitous Information CO LTD. Spreadsheets contain a lot of valuable data and have many practical applications. The key technology of these practical applications is how to make machines understand the semantic structure of spreadsheets, e.g., identifying cell function types and discovering relationships between cell pairs. Most existing methods for understanding the semantic structure of spreadsheets do not make use of the semantic information of cells. A few studies do, but they ignore the layout structure information of spreadsheets, which affects the performance of cell function classification and the discovery of different relationship types of cell pairs. In this paper, we propose a Heuristic algorithm for Understanding the Semantic Structure of spreadsheets (HUSS). Specifically, based on the existing cell function classification model [11], we propose five types of heuristic rules to extract four different types of cell pairs, based on the cell style and spatial location information. Our experimental results on two real-world datasets demonstrate that the proposed method HUSS can effectively understand the semantic structure of spreadsheets and outperforms corresponding baselines.

The Effect of Industrial Structure Change on Carbon Dioxide Emissions: A Cross-Country Panel Analysis

Reduction of carbon dioxide(CO2)emissions is one of the biggest challenges for global sustainable development,in which economic growth characterized by industrialization plays a formidable *** innovatively adopted the input and output(I-O)table of 41 countries released by World I-O database to determine the industrial structure change and analyze its impact on CO2 emission evolution by developing a cross-country panel *** empirical results show that industrial structure change has a significantly negative effect on CO2 emissions;to be specific,0.1 unit increase in the linkage of manufacturing sector and service sector will lead to a decrease of 0.94 metric tons per capita CO2 emissions,indicating that upgrading industrial structure contributes to carbon mitigation and sustainable ***,urbanization,technology and trade openness have significantly negative impact on CO2 emissions,while economy growth and energy use take positive *** particular,a 1%increase in per capita income will contribute to an increase of 8.6 metric tons per capita CO2 ***,the effect of industrial structure on environment degradation is moderated by technology *** findings fill the gaps of previous literature and provide valuable references for effective policies to mitigate CO2 emissions and achieve sustainable development.

Extracting emergency events from a large amount of unstructured information is essential for improving early warning and emergency response. Existing event extraction methods for specialist fields often rely on well-designed syntactic dependencies or external knowledge graphs, which can provide high accuracy in their specialist fields. However, these approaches may have poor generalization capabilities and are difficult to apply directly to the emergency field. In addition, most existing methods ignore the interdependencies between event triggers and event arguments, which may be crucial semantic features for event extraction. To solve these problems, we propose a Chinese emergent event extraction method based on contrastive learning with event semantic features(CNEmergEE). Firstly, the proposed approach automatically expands the pre-trained model’s vocabulary on a domain corpus. Then, continuing learning on the same corpus allows the model to complete domain adaptation. Finally, we use contrast learning to enable models to learn semantic representations of events. Experimental results on the CEC (Chinese Emergency Corpus) dataset show that our approach achieves better improvement.

The fundamental matrix is the mainstream solution to computer vision problems such as 3D reconstruction, real-time location and map building. Accuracy and efficiency are two main measurement indexes in fundamental matrix estimation. When the accuracy is not enough, it often needs to be corrected through back-end optimization and other costly ways, and low efficiency will affect the real-time performance of the system. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a new estimation method of fundamental matrix based on improved quasi affine transformation. Specifically, based on the QUATRE algorithm, this method first proposes a population cooperation method based on a specific "gene-chromosome" pattern. Secondly, combining the advantages of NSGA-II in solving multi-objective problems, the Pareto dominance relationship of the population chromosome was firstly calculated according to the objective function of mean polarity distance and internal points in the way of NSGA-II, and the crowding degree was also calculated. The operations of population initialization, mutation and crossover in the discrete solution space represented by the homogeneous coordinate system are redefined. The selection operation is then performed according to the elite policy of NSGA-II. In addition, a confidence-based method to determine the number of iterations is proposed to accelerate the algorithm. Experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively eliminate noise and mismatching, and is superior to the current mainstream methods in accuracy and efficiency, and can effectively solve the problem of fundamental matrix estimation. © 2021 Global Research Online. A Low-rank Matching Attention based Cross-modal Feature Fusion Method for Conversational Emotion Recognition

Conversational emotion recognition (CER) is an important research topic in human-computer interactions. Although recent advancements in transformer-based cross-modal fusion methods have shown promise in CER tasks, they tend to overlook the crucial intra-modal and inter-modal emotional interaction or suffer from high computational complexity. To address this, we introduce a novel and lightweight cross-modal feature fusion method called Low-Rank Matching Attention Method (LMAM). LMAM effectively captures contextual emotional semantic information in conversations while mitigating the quadratic complexity issue caused by the self-attention mechanism. Specifically, by setting a matching weight and calculating inter-modal features attention scores row by row, LMAM requires only one-third of the parameters of self-attention methods. We also employ the low-rank decomposition method on the weights to further reduce the number of parameters in LMAM. As a result, LMAM offers a lightweight model while avoiding overfitting problems caused by a large number of parameters. Moreover, LMAM is able to fully exploit the intra-modal emotional contextual information within each modality and integrates complementary emotional semantic information across modalities by computing and fusing similarities of intra-modal and inter-modal features simultaneously. Experimental results verify the superiority of LMAM compared with other popular cross-modal fusion methods on the premise of being more lightweight. Also, LMAM can be embedded into any existing state-of-the-art CER methods in a plug-and-play manner, and can be applied to other multi-modal recognition tasks, e.g., session recommendation and humour detection, demonstrating its remarkable generalization ability. Video violence detection aims to locate the time window in which violent behavior occurs. Most methods focus on utilizing RGB features directly or only fusing RGB and audio features, ignoring the effective exploitation of motion information carried in optical flow. This lack of emphasis on motion information may impact the overall accuracy of violence detection. Moreover, we observe that videos contain strong local correlations, so it is insufficient to analyze only from a holistic perspective without capturing finer details. Therefore, in this paper, we design a novel Global-and-Local Cross-Modal Network (GL-CMN) for violence detection, which effectively integrates motion information and multi-granularity features from target videos. Specifically, we first propose a Motion-Guided Attention Module (MGAM) to obtain enhanced visual features by calibrating RGB features through optical flow features. Secondly, The enhanced features are simultaneously fed into two parallel branches of the network. The global branch fuses the visual and audio features into holistic representations. The local branch extracts multi-scale temporal dependencies through dilated convolutions. Experiments demonstrate that our method exhibits significant improvement compared to previous state-of-the-art methods on the XD-Violence dataset.

The Roller-Quadrotor is a novel quadrotor that combines the maneuverability of aerial drones with the endurance of ground vehicles. This work focuses on the design, modeling, and experimental validation of the Roller-Quadrotor. Flight capabilities are achieved through a quadrotor config-uration, with four thrust-providing actuators. Additionally, rolling motion is facilitated by a unicycle-driven and rotor-assisted turning structure. By utilizing terrestrial locomotion, the vehicle can overcome rolling and turning resistance, thereby conserving energy compared to its flight mode. This innovative approach not only tackles the inherent challenges of traditional rotorcraft but also enables the vehicle to roll through narrow gaps and overcome obstacles by taking advantage of its aerial mobility. We develop comprehensive models and controllers for the Roller-Quadrotor and validate their performance through experiments. The results demonstrate its seamless transition between aerial and terrestrial locomotion, as well as its ability to safely roll through gaps half the size of its diameter. Moreover, the terrestrial range of the vehicle is approximately 2.8 times greater, while the operating time is about 41.2 times longer compared to its aerial capabilities. These findings underscore the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed structure and control mechanisms for efficient rolling through challenging terrains while conserving energy.
