Gupacker: Generalized Unpacking Framework for Android Malware

Android malware authors often use packers to evade analysis. Although many unpacking tools have been proposed, they face two significant challenges: 1) They are easily impeded by anti-analysis techniques employed by packers, preventing efficient collection of hidden Dex data. 2) They are typically designed to unpack a specific packer and cannot handle malware packed with mixed packers. Consequently, many packed malware samples evade detection. To bridge this gap, we propose Gupacker , a novel generalized unpacking framework. Gupacker offers a generic solution for first-generation holistic packer by customizing the Android system source code. It identifies the type of packer and selects an appropriate unpacking function, constructs a deeper active call chain to achieve generic unpacking of second-generation function extraction packers, and uses JNI function and instruction monitoring to handle third-generation virtual obfuscation packer. On this basis, we counteract a diverse array of anti-analysis techniques. We conduct extensive experiments on 5K packed Android malware samples, comparing Gupacker with 2 commercial and 4 state-of-the-art academic unpacking tools. The results demonstrate that Gupacker significantly improves the efficiency of Android malware unpacking with acceptable system overhead. We analyze real packed applications based on Gupacker and found several are second-packed by attackers, including WPS for Android, with tens of millions of users. We receive and responsibly report 13 0day vulnerabilities and also assist in the remediation of all vulnerabilities. © 2005-2012 IEEE.

YOLOv9-AAG: Distinguishing Birds and Drones in Infrared and Visible Light Scenarios

The ability to distinguish between birds and drones is essential for applications in wildlife preservation, aviation security, and defense operations. Reliable identification not only reduces the risk of bird strikes and monitors potential drone threats but also fosters the development of a secure and intelligent ecological environment. However, achieving high precision in recognition under complex and dynamic conditions remains a significant hurdle. To overcome this, we present an advanced detection framework, YOLOv9-AKConv-AFF-GSConv(YOLOv9-AAG), which substantially improves the accuracy of distinguishing birds from drones, even in varied poses, and enhances generalization capabilities in both infrared and visible light scenarios. The framework incorporates several key advancements. First, the GSConv is embedded into the head of the RepNSCPELAN4-AKConv module, enabling efficient extraction of edge and contour information without introducing additional computational cost. Second, the inclusion of the Attentional Feature Fusion (AFF) mechanism within AKConv amplifies the representation of shape features, particularly under challenging environments and multimodal scenarios. Lastly, the optimized AKConv module is effectively integrated with the original RepNSCPELAN4 model, facilitating more accurate and robust feature extraction for small targets, including birds and drones. Experimental evaluations underscore the effectiveness of the proposed framework. On an optical dataset containing multiple bird and drone targets, YOLOv9-AAG achieved recognition accuracy rates of 78.2%, while on an infrared dataset, it reached 86.1%. These results reflect improvements of 7.4% and 6.0%, respectively, over the baseline YOLOv9 model. Additionally, the F1 scores increased by 5.9% and 2.8%. On the publicly available CUB-200-2011 dataset and a combined dataset of visible and infrared images, the model attained mean Average Precision (mAP) scores of 81.9% and 81.6%, respectively, outper

Prior studies on Aspect-level Sentiment Classification (ALSC) emphasize modeling interrelationships among aspects and contexts but overlook the crucial role of aspects themselves as essential domain knowledge. To this end, we propose AGCL, a novel Aspect Graph Construction and Learning method, aimed at furnishing the model with finely tuned aspect information to bolster its task-understanding ability. AGCL's pivotal innovations reside in Aspect Graph Construction (AGC) and Aspect Graph Learning (AGL), where AGC harnesses intrinsic aspect connections to construct the domain aspect graph, and then AGL iteratively updates the introduced aspect graph to enhance its domain expertise, making it more suitable for the ALSC task. Hence, this domain aspect graph can serve as a bridge connecting unseen aspects with seen aspects, thereby enhancing the model's generalization capability. Experiment results on three widely used datasets demonstrate the significance of aspect information for ALSC and highlight AGL's superiority in aspect learning, surpassing state-of-the-art baselines greatly. Various stakeholders, such as researchers, government agencies, businesses, and research laboratories require a large volume of reliable scientific research outcomes including research articles and patent data to support their work. These data are crucial for a variety of application, such as advancing scientific research, conducting business evaluations, and undertaking policy analysis. However, collecting such data is often a time-consuming and laborious task. Consequently, many users turn to using openly accessible data for their research. However, these existing open dataset releases typically suffer from lack of relationship between different data sources and a limited temporal coverage. To address this issue, we present a new open dataset, the intelligent Innovation dataset (IIDS), which comprises six interrelated datasets spanning nearly 120 years, encompassing paper information, paper citation relationships, patent details, patent legal statuses, and funding information. The extensive contextual and extensive temporal coverage of the IIDS dataset will provide researchers and practitioners and policy maker with comprehensive data support, enabling them to conduct indepth scientific research and comprehensive data analyses. © 2020 Tsinghua University Press.

Controlled-source electromagnetic noise attenuation via a deep convolutional neural network and high-quality sounding curve screening mechanism

Strong noise is one of the biggest challenges in controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) exploration, which severely affects the quality of the recorded signal. We develop a novel and effective CSEM noise attenuation method that integrates a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) with a high-quality sounding curve screening mechanism. This method first uses a DCNN to learn the large-scale noise characteristics of CSEM measured data and build a DCNN denoising model for attenuating the noise. Because some impulse noise remains after DCNN denoising, the high-quality sounding curve screening mechanism is innovatively applied to optimize the DCNN denoised data. The core of this method is the smoothness value (SV), which quantitatively evaluates the smoothness of the sounding curve (apparent resistivity curve). In effect, the mechanism segments the overall DCNN denoised data and calculates the corresponding sounding curve and its SV for each segment. The highest-quality sounding curve can be screened out by comparing the SVs of all curves as well as obtaining the highest-quality data segment present in the overall DCNN denoised data. Finally, our method is validated with synthetic and field data, demonstrating its feasibility and effectiveness in attenuating large-scale CSEM noise. The quality of CSEM data, which is heavily affected by noise, is significantly improved after processing by our method. © 2025 Society of Exploration Geophysicists. All rights reserved.

Osteoporosis is a common skeletal disease that seriously affects patients’ quality of life. Traditional osteoporosis diagnosis methods are expensive and complex. The semi-supervised model based on diffusion model and class threshold sinusoidal decay proposed in this paper can automatically diagnose osteoporosis based on patient’s imaging data, which has the advantages of convenience, accuracy, and low cost. Unlike previous semi-supervised models, all the unlabeled data used in this paper are generated by the diffusion model. Compared with real unlabeled data, synthetic data generated by the diffusion model show better performance. In addition, this paper proposes a novel pseudo-label threshold adjustment mechanism, Sinusoidal Threshold Decay, which can make the semi-supervised model converge more quickly and improve its performance. Specifically, the method is tested on a dataset including 749 dental panoramic images, and its achieved leading detect performance and produces a 80.10% accuracy.

Power systems serve as the fundamental infrastructure for the socioeconomic development of modern societies. Researching power systems can stimulate the growth of the power industry and contribute to the sustainable development of society. This paper aims to address uncertainties prevalent in power systems, including extreme weather events, disruptions in renewable energy supply, and adjustments in economic policies. To achieve this objective, an uncertain Nash equilibrium model is established. Subsequently, a game theoretic analysis is conducted to maximize the interests of users, grid companies, and proxy purchasers. Under the condition of not necessarily continuous differentiability, the Riemann-Stieltjes discrete approximation method has been proposed. The difficulty of calculating the expectation of the optimal revenue function has been resolved. Weak first-order equilibrium condition based on Clarke’s generalized gradient, the convergence and convergence rate of uncertain Nash equilibrium solutions are proved. © 2025, Politechnica University of Bucharest. With the development of cloud computing and the digital transformation of the medical industry, the application scenarios and effects of smart healthcare are constantly expanding and improving. Smart healthcare plays an important role in improving service quality and medical efficiency and reducing medical costs. However, in the process of data collection, storage, and transmission, the risk of patients' privacy being illegally accessed or leaked has become increasingly prominent. These medical data contain sensitive information about patients, and once leaked, it will violate the privacy of patients, cause medical accidents, and seriously damage the legitimate rights and interests of patients. An efficient and reliable privacy protection mechanism is the foundation and key to establishing a harmonious doctor-patient relationship and improving medical quality. Although traditional encryption methods can provide certain information security protection, they cannot balance data protection and data analysis and processing and are not suitable for intelligent medical environments that require more precise medical decisions. Therefore, we propose a hierarchical identity-based inner product functional encryption scheme with a malicious user revocation mechanism aimed at addressing the privacy and security issues of patients in smart healthcare. This solution allows specific access and analysis of data while ensuring that patients' sensitive information is protected from infringement, enabling doctors to diagnose and treat more accurately and optimize the allocation of medical resources to the greatest extent possible. Furthermore, we have formally demonstrated the security of the scheme and conducted a security analysis and performance comparison. The results show that our solution has better performance while ensuring security and is suitable for the efficient and secure data processing requirements of smart healthcare. © 2014 IEEE.

A Novel Privacy-Enhancing Framework for Low-Dose CT Denoising

Deep learning (DL) has made significant advancements in tomographic imaging, particularly in low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) denoising. A recent trend involves servers training powerful models with enormous self-collected data and providing application programming interfaces (APIs) for users, such as Chat-GPT. To avoid model leakage, users are required to upload their data to the server. This approach is particularly advantageous for devices with limited computational capabilities, as it offloads computation to the server, easing the workload on the devices themselves. However, this way raises public concerns about the privacy disclosure risk. Hence, to alleviate related concerns, we propose to directly denoise LDCT in the encrypted domain to achieve privacy-preserving cloud services without exposing private data to the server. Concretely, we employ homomorphic encryption to encrypt private LDCT, which is then transferred to the server model trained with plaintext LDCT for further denoising. Since fundamental DL operations, such as convolution and linear transformation, cannot be directly used in the encrypted domain, we transform the fundamental mathematic operations in the plaintext domain into the operations in the encrypted domain. Moreover, we present two interactive frameworks for linear and nonlinear models, both of which can achieve lossless operating. In this way, the proposed methods can achieve two merits, the data privacy is well protected and the server model is free from the risk of model leakage. Moreover, we provide theoretical proof to validate the lossless property of our framework. Finally, experiments were conducted to demonstrate that the transferred contents are well protected and cannot be reconstructed.1 © 2020 IEEE.

TVG: A Training-free Transition Video Generation Method with Diffusion Models

Transition videos play a crucial role in media production, enhancing the flow and coherence of visual narratives. Traditional methods like morphing often lack artistic appeal and require specialized skills, limiting their effectiveness. Recent advances in diffusion model-based video generation offer new possibilities for creating transitions but face challenges such as poor inter-frame relationship modeling and abrupt content changes. We propose a novel training-free Transition Video Generation (TVG) approach using video-level diffusion models that addresses these limitations without additional training. Our method leverages Gaussian Process Regression (GPR) to model latent representations, ensuring smooth and dynamic transitions between frames. Additionally, we introduce interpolation-based conditional controls and a Frequency-aware Bidirectional Fusion (FBiF) architecture to enhance temporal control and transition reliability. Evaluations of benchmark datasets and custom image pairs demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in generating high-quality smooth transition videos.
