Temporal Knowledge Graph (TKG), which characterizes temporally evolving facts in the form of (subject, relation, object, timestamp), has attracted much attention recently. TKG reasoning aims to predict future facts based on given historical ones. However, existing TKG reasoning models are unable to abstain from predictions they are uncertain, which will inevitably bring risks in real-world applications. Thus, in this paper, we propose an abstention mechanism for TKG reasoning, which helps the existing models make selective, instead of indiscriminate, predictions. Specifically, we develop a confidence estimator, called Confidence Estimator with History (CEHis), to enable the existing TKG reasoning models to first estimate their confidence in making predictions, and then abstain from those with low confidence. To do so, CEHis takes two kinds of information into consideration, namely, the certainty of the current prediction and the accuracy of historical predictions. Experiments with representative TKG reasoning models on two benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed CEHis. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

Hyper-relational facts, which consist of a primary triple (head entity, relation, tail entity) and auxiliary attribute-value pairs, are widely present in real-world Knowledge Graphs (KGs). Link Prediction on Hyper-relational Facts (LPHFs) is to predict a missing element in a hyper-relational fact, which helps populate and enrich KGs. However, existing LPHFs studies usually require an amount of high-quality data. They overlook few-shot relations, which have limited instances, yet are common in real-world scenarios. Thus, we introduce a new task, Few-Shot Link Prediction on Hyper-relational Facts (FSLPHFs). It aims to predict a missing entity in a hyper-relational fact with limited support instances. To tackle FSLPHFs, we propose MetaRH, a model that learns Meta Relational information in Hyper-relational facts. MetaRH comprises three modules: relation learning, support-specific adjustment, and query inference. By capturing meta relational information from limited support instances, MetaRH can accurately predict the missing entity in a query. As there is no existing dataset available for this new task, we construct three datasets to validate the effectiveness of MetaRH. Event detection is one of the fundamental tasks in information extraction and knowledge graph. However, a realistic event detection system often needs to deal with new event classes constantly. These new classes usually have only a few labeled instances as it is time-consuming and labor-intensive to annotate a large number of unlabeled instances. Therefore, this paper proposes a new task, called class-incremental few-shot event detection. Nevertheless, this task faces two problems, i.e., old knowledge forgetting and new class overfitting. To solve these problems, this paper further presents a novel knowledge distillation and prompt learning based method, called Prompt-KD. Specifically, to handle the forgetting problem about old knowledge, Prompt-KD develops an attention based multi-teacher knowledge distillation framework, where the ancestor teacher model pre-trained on base classes is reused in all learning sessions, and the father teacher model derives the current student model via adaptation. On the other hand, in order to cope with the few-shot learning scenario and alleviate the corresponding new class overfitting problem, Prompt-KD is also equipped with a prompt learning mechanism. Extensive experiments on two benchmark datasets, i.e., FewEvent and MAVEN, demonstrate the superior performance of Prompt-KD. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

With the development of artificial intelligence, pulse diagnosis has been standardized and objectified. However, there is a lack of research on the extraction and dimensionality reduction of hypertensive pulse features. We propose two effective features for distinguishing pulses of disease samples and a fusion dimensionality reduction method that combines linear and nonlinear dimensionality reduction. The results show that the proposed features and dimensionality reduction method make the classification accuracy of hypertension pulse feature reach 94.23%, and the training time of the classifier is reduced by 47 seconds, which improves the performance in terms of both accuracy and time. © 2022 ACM.

For evolutionary multi-objective optimization algorithms (EMOAs), an external archive can be utilized for saving good solutions found throughout the evolutionary process. Recent studies showed that a solution set selected from an external archive is usually superior to the final population. That is, the incorporation of an external archive improves the performance of EMOAs. However, the computation time for maintaining an external archive is long, especially when the archive size is large. To solve this issue, a simple archiving strategy is to save all solutions generated in the last several generations. In this paper, we examine this archiving strategy for three representative EMOAs on artificial test problems (Minus-DTLZ and WFG) and real-world problems (RE). Our results show that archiving the last several generations clearly improves the performance of EMOAs without severely increasing the computation time. © 2024 IEEE.

Hyperspectral super-resolution involves combining low-resolution hyperspectral images with high-resolution multispectral images to produce a high-resolution hyperspectral image. Recently, although many methods for hyperspectral image super-resolution have been proposed, they often fail to fully utilize the high similarity among adjacent bands to enhance fusion performance. Therefore, we propose a grouping strategy-based progressive fusion network (GPFNet) for hyperspectral super-resolution. The core of GPFNet is the grouping strategy fusion block (GPF block), in which grouping-based spatial-spectral information fusion and spatial information refinement are performed. We design the spatial-spectral information fusion module (SSIFM) based on grouped convolutions to capture the feature differences from adjacent bands. To refine spatial details, we develop the spatial information enhancement module (SpaEM), which leverages the hierarchical features extracted by the multi-scale feature extraction module (MIEM). Additionally, a progressive fusion strategy, which involves using multiple upsampled hyperspectral images and downsampled multispectral images, further preserves spectral integrity and spatial details. Extensive experiments show that GPFNet outperforms state-of-the-art methods both qualitatively and quantitatively. © 2025 IEEE.

In high-risk industrial environments like nuclear power plants, precise defect identification and localization are essential for maintaining production stability and safety. However, the complexity of such a harsh environment leads to significant variations in the shape and size of the defects. To address this challenge, we propose the multivariate time series segmentation network(MSSN), which adopts a multiscale convolutional network with multi-stage and depth-separable convolutions for efficient feature extraction through variable-length templates. To tackle the classification difficulty caused by structural signal variance, MSSN employs logarithmic normalization to adjust instance distributions. Furthermore, it integrates classification with smoothing loss functions to accurately identify defect segments amid similar structural and defect signal subsequences. Our algorithm evaluated on both the Mackey-Glass dataset and industrial dataset achieves over 95% localization and demonstrates the capture capability on the synthetic dataset. In a nuclear plant's heat transfer tube dataset, it captures 90% of defect instances with75% middle localization F1 score.

The goal of fusing hyperspectral images (HSI) and multispectral images (MSI) is to generate high-resolution hyperspectral images for downstream tasks. However, most existing methods overlook the specific requirements of these tasks, leading to a gap between the fusion process and its subsequent applications due to insufficient guidance from downstream tasks. To address this issue, we propose a classification-guided multitask interactive network (CGNet) that integrates both fusion and classification tasks into a unified framework, with two branches producing the fused image and classification results, respectively. In the fusion branch, we design a multi-level residual refinement module to efficiently integrate spatial and spectral information. Additionally, an attention-based multi-scale fusion module, incorporating both spatial and channel attention, is carefully crafted to enhance representation learning. In the classification branch, both 2-D and 3-D convolutions are employed to improve classification performance. Moreover, an information interaction module is proposed to guide the fusion task based on classification outcomes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches on the Pavia Centre and Pavia University datasets. © 2025 IEEE.
