BATON: symphony of random testing and concolic testing through machine learning and taint analysis

Recent advancements in CNNs for medical image segmentation have focused on the combination of CNN and Transformer architectures to capture both local and global features. However, challenges remain, such as effectively utilizing fused features at the encoder-decoder bottleneck and addressing blurred object edges in datasets. To tackle these issues, we introduce a multi-scale channel adaptive sensing module, enhancing the model's representational and perceptual capabilities by integrating multi-scale and channel-specific information. Additionally, we propose a cross-perception module and multi-scale segmentation head to improve global coordination and multi-scale information gathering. Experiments on the ACDC and Synapse datasets demonstrate our model's superiority. © 2024 IEEE.

Intellectual property transactions have shown a strong growth momentum in recent years, but the patent transaction market has been plagued by the matching degree of consumers and sellers, resulting in frequent problems such as low patent transformation efficiency and poor transaction quality. This paper proposes a method of recommending patents to consumers by experts to improve the environment of patent transactions. Through the analysis of the past transaction information of the patent, the effective path information of the target is extracted. The graph neural network is used to describe the characteristics and semantics among experts, patents and consumers, and then capture the potential weight among them through the common attention mechanism, and then dynamically integrate them to predict the occurrence of recommendation behavior. The paper makes reasonable use of social information and expert information in the transaction, which significantly improves the rationality and accuracy of expert recommendation. © 2023 IEEE.

Digital Twin (DT) has been proposed as a key enabling technology to produce a digital clone of the physical world and facilitate the convergence of the physical and virtual worlds for building a real-world Metaverse. For physical-virtual synchronization, crowdsensing is applied to employ Internet of Things (IoT) devices to sense physical objects and collect status information for timely updating the associated DTs. However, an incentive mechanism is necessitated to stimulate the devices to perform sensing tasks while meeting task requirements such as Age of Information (AoI) requirements. Thus, we adopt a contract theoretic approach to design an incentive mechanism for the devices that are classified into several types and the type parameters are unknown to others. The contract consists of a set of contract items with each contract item representing a device type, which specifies the required data updating frequency and monetary reward. We formulate an optimal contract design problem subject to feasible constraints including the average AoI requirement for each device type. Furthermore, we solve the problem by transforming it into a convex optimization problem that can be directly tackled by the existing methods. Finally, we provide numerical results to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of our scheme. © IFIP International Federation for Information Processing 2025.

Few-shot font generation (FFG) aims to learn the target style from a limited number of reference glyphs and generate the remaining glyphs in the target font. Previous works focus on disentangling the content and style features of glyphs, combining the content features of the source glyph with the style features of the reference glyph to generate new glyphs. However, the disentanglement is challenging due to the complexity of glyphs, often resulting in glyphs that are influenced by the style of the source glyph and prone to artifacts. We propose IF-Font, a novel paradigm which incorporates Ideographic Description Sequence (IDS) instead of the source glyph to control the semantics of generated glyphs. To achieve this, we quantize the reference glyphs into tokens, and model the token distribution of target glyphs using corresponding IDS and reference tokens. The proposed method excels in synthesizing glyphs with neat and correct strokes, and enables the creation of new glyphs based on provided IDS. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method greatly outperforms state-of-the-art methods in both one-shot and few-shot settings, particularly when the target styles differ significantly from the training font styles. Slot filling and intent detection are two highly correlated tasks in spoken language understanding (SLU). Recent SLU research attempts to explore zero-shot prompting techniques in large language models to alleviate the data scarcity problem. Nevertheless, the existing prompting work ignores the cross-task interaction information for SLU, which leads to sub-optimal performance. To solve this problem, we present the pioneering work of Cross-task Interactive Prompting (CroPrompt) for SLU, which enables the model to interactively leverage the information exchange across the correlated tasks in SLU. Additionally, we further introduce a multi-task self-consistency mechanism to mitigate the error propagation caused by the intent information injection. We conduct extensive experiments on the standard SLU benchmark and the results reveal that CroPrompt consistently outperforms the existing prompting approaches. In addition, the multi-task self-consistency mechanism can effectively ease the error propagation issue, thereby enhancing the performance. We hope this work can inspire more research on cross-task prompting for SLU. © 2025 IEEE.

Coarse for Fine: Bounding Box Supervised Thyroid Ultrasound Image Segmentation Using Spatial Arrangement and Hierarchical Prediction Consistency

Weakly-supervised learning methods have become increasingly attractive for medical image segmentation, but suffered from a high dependence on quantifying the pixel-wise affinities of low-level features, which are easily corrupted in thyroid ultrasound images, resulting in segmentation over-fitting to weakly annotated regions without precise delineation of target boundaries. We propose a dual-branch weakly-supervised learning framework to optimize the backbone segmentation network by calibrating semantic features into rational spatial distribution under the indirect, coarse guidance of the bounding box mask. Specifically, in the spatial arrangement consistency branch, the maximum activations sampled from the preliminary segmentation prediction and the bounding box mask along the horizontal and vertical dimensions are compared to measure the rationality of the approximate target localization. In the hierarchical prediction consistency branch, the target and background prototypes are encapsulated from the semantic features under the combined guidance of the preliminary segmentation prediction and the bounding box mask. The secondary segmentation prediction induced from the prototypes is compared with the preliminary prediction to quantify the rationality of the elaborated target and background semantic feature perception. Experiments on three thyroid datasets illustrate that our model outperforms existing weakly-supervised methods for thyroid gland and nodule segmentation and is comparable to the performance of fully-supervised methods with reduced annotation time. The proposed method has provided a weakly-supervised segmentation strategy by simultaneously considering the target's location and the rationality of target and background semantic features distribution. Network monitoring and measurement is an important part of realizing the network digital twin. However, it introduces the problem of high cost when obtaining the status data of physical networks. Therefore, to efficiently achieve network observability, we first introduce potential techniques and network scenarios for implementing network measurements. Then, a High-Yield Segment Routing over IPv6 based In-band Network Telemetry (HY-SRv6-INT) system is proposed in this paper. In particular, we design the HY-SRv6-INT system architecture. It consists of IPv6 switches implemented by the P4 language and a Software-Defined Networking (SDN) controller containing the HY-SRv6-INT application. Next, we experimentally demonstrate a packet-level path-associated network measurement process. In addition, the performance of the HY-SRv6-INT system is also quantitatively evaluated to verify its advantages. The Mott-Ioffe-Regel limit sets the lower bound of the carrier mean free path for coherent quasiparticle transport. Metallicity beyond this limit is of great interest because it is often closely related to quantum criticality and unconventional superconductivity. Progress along this direction mainly focuses on the strange-metal behaviors originating from the evolution of the quasiparticle scattering rate, such as linear-in-temperature resistivity, while the quasiparticle coherence phenomena in this regime are much less explored due to the short mean free path at the diffusive bound. Here we report the observation of quantum oscillations from Landau quantization near the Mott-Ioffe-Regel limit in CaAs3. Despite the insulator-like temperature dependence of resistivity, CaAs3presents giant magnetoresistance and prominent Shubnikov–de Haas oscillations from Fermi surfaces, indicating highly coherent band transport. In contrast,quantum oscillation is absent in the magnetic torque. The quasiparticle effective mass increases systematically with magnetic fields, manifesting a much larger value than what is expected based on magneto-infrared spectroscopy. This suggests a strong many-body renormalization effect near the Fermi surface. We find that these unconventional behaviors may be explained by the interplay between the mobility edge and the van Hove singularity, which results in the formation of coherent cyclotron orbits emerging at the diffusive bound. Our results call for further study on the electron correlation effect of the van Hove singularity.

Cloud-based machine learning services offer significant advantages but also introduce the risk of tampering with cloud-deployed deep neural network (DNN) models. Black-box integrity verification (BIV) allows model owners and end-users to determine if a cloud-deployed DNN model has been tampered with by examining only the top-1 label responses. Fingerprinting generates fingerprint samples to query the model, achieving BIV with no impact on the model's accuracy. In this paper, we present BIVBench, the first comprehensive benchmark for BIV of DNN models. BIVBench covers 16 types of model modifications, providing extensive coverage of practical modification scenarios. Our analysis reveals that existing fingerprinting methods, which are typically focused on significant tampering, lack the sensitivity needed to effectively detect subtle yet common and potentially severe modifications. To address this limitation, we propose MiSentry (Model Integrity Sentry), a novel fingerprinting method that leverages meta-learning. MiSentry strategically incorporates a few subtly modified models into the meta-learning model zoo and maximizes the divergence of output predictions between the target model and the modified models in the model zoo to generate highly sensitive, generalizable, and effective fingerprint samples. Extensive evaluations using BIVBench demonstrate that MiSentry outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods overall and significantly surpasses them in detecting subtle modifications.
