In light of recent advancements in Internet of Multimedia Things (IoMT) and 5G technology, both the variety and quantity of data have been rapidly increasing. Consequently, handling zero-shot cross-modal retrieval (ZSCMR) of unlabeled multi-modal data has emerged as a prominent research topic. Early models utilized generative adversarial networks and class embeddings to assist in building a common feature space. However, this approach resulted in a loss of reliability in the feature distributions of individual modalities. In this paper, we propose a method called Ranking on Heterogeneous Manifold (RHM) to address the aforementioned issue. Our model comprises three feature extractors, each dedicated to extracting features from text, images and multimodal data. Subsequently, the relationship structures derived from these feature extractors are employed to construct a heterogeneous manifold. A diffusion process is then conducted on this heterogeneous manifold, ultimately yielding the final ranking scores. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed modal has the capability to acquire more effective knowledge representation, thus enhancing the effectiveness of ZSCMR.

The Minority Matters: A Diversity-Promoting Collaborative Metric Learning Algorithm

Collaborative Metric Learning (CML) has recently emerged as a popular method in recommendation systems (RS), closing the gap between metric learning and Collaborative Filtering. Following the convention of RS, existing methods exploit unique user representation in their model design. This paper focuses on a challenging scenario where a user has multiple categories of interests. Under this setting, we argue that the unique user representation might induce preference bias, especially when the item category distribution is imbalanced. To address this issue, we propose a novel method called Diversity-Promoting Collaborative Metric Learning (DPCML), with the hope of considering the commonly ignored minority interest of the user. The key idea behind DPCML is to include a multiple set of representations for each user in the system. Based on this embedding paradigm, user preference toward an item is aggregated from different embeddings by taking the minimum item-user distance among the user embedding set. Furthermore, we observe that the diversity of the embeddings for the same user also plays an essential role in the model. To this end, we propose a diversity control regularization term to accommodate the multi-vector representation strategy better. Theoretically, we show that DPCML could generalize well to unseen test data by tackling the challenge of the annoying operation that comes from the minimum value. Cancer, a global health threat, demands effective diagnostic solutions to combat its impact on public health, particularly for breast, colon, and lung cancers. Early and accurate diagnosis is essential for successful treatment, prompting the rise of Computer-Aided Diagnosis systems as reliable and cost-effective tools. Histopathology, renowned for its precision in cancer imaging, has become pivotal in the diagnostic landscape of breast, colon, and lung cancers. However, while deep learning models have been widely explored in this domain, they often face challenges in generalizing to diverse clinical settings and in efficiently capturing both local and global feature representations, particularly for multi-class tasks. This underscores the need for models that can reduce biases, improve diagnostic accuracy, and minimize error susceptibility in cancer classification tasks. To this end, we introduce ResoMergeNet (RMN), an advanced deep-learning model designed for both multi-class and binary cancer classification using histopathological images of breast, colon, and lung. ResoMergeNet integrates the Resboost mechanism which enhances feature representation, and the ConvmergeNet mechanism which optimizes feature extraction, leading to improved diagnostic accuracy. Comparative evaluations against state-of-the-art models show ResoMergeNet's superior performance. Validated on the LC-25000 and BreakHis (400× and 40× magnifications) datasets, ResoMergeNet demonstrates outstanding performance, achieving perfect scores of 100 % in accuracy, sensitivity, precision, and F1 score for binary classification. For multi-class classification with five classes from the LC25000 dataset, it maintains an impressive 99.96 % across all performance metrics. When applied to the BreakHis dataset, ResoMergeNet achieved 99.87 % accuracy, 99.75 % sensitivity, 99.78 % precision, and 99.77 % F1 score at 400× magnification. At 40× magnification, it still delivered robust results with 98.85 % accuracy,

Aiming at the problems of over-reliance on traditional manual harvest operation experience and lack of effective collaborative operation scheduling method in agricultural machinery cluster operation in agricultural harvest scenario. A multi-objective combined optimization intelligent scheduling model of harvesters and grain transport vehicles was established to save agricultural machinery resources, and improve the overall efficiency of harvesters and transport vehicles, to meet the constraints of plot location, task number, operation time window, and path planning. The model was solved by an intelligent search algorithm, and an intelligent scheduling method of command multi-machine cooperative operation based on NSGA-III and an improved ant colony algorithm was proposed. It can be seen from the simulation test that the scheduling model established, and the solution algorithm designed in this research can obtain many groups of good optimization results. Moreover, it can make the unproductive waiting time of harvester 0, and minimize the transfer distance and number of grain transporters. This method can be combined closely with the practical application of unmanned farms, which lays a theoretical foundation for improving the efficiency of multi-machine cooperative operations. © 2022, The Authors. Driver drowsiness electroencephalography (EEG) signal monitoring can timely alert drivers of their drowsiness status, thereby reducing the probability of traffic accidents. Graph convolutional networks (GCNs) have shown significant advancements in processing the non-stationary, time-varying, and non-Euclidean nature of EEG signals. However, the existing single-channel EEG adjacency graph construction process lacks interpretability, which hinders the ability of GCNs to effectively extract adjacency graph features, thus affecting the performance of drowsiness monitoring. To address this issue, we propose an edge-end lightweight dual graph convolutional network (LDGCN). Specifically, we are the first to incorporate neurophysiological knowledge to design a Baseline Drowsiness Status Adjacency Graph (BDSAG), which characterizes driver drowsiness status. Additionally, to express more features within limited EEG data, we introduce the Augmented Graph-level Module (AGM). This module captures global and local information at the graph level, ensuring that BDSAG features remain intact while enhancing effective feature expression capability. Furthermore, to deploy our method on the fourth-generation Raspberry Pi, we utilize Adaptive Pruning Optimization (APO) on both channels and neurons, reducing inference latency by almost half. Experiments on benchmark datasets demonstrate that LDGCN offers the best trade-off between monitoring performance and hardware resource utilization compared to existing state-of-the-art algorithms. Intrusion detection system (IDS), as a network security device, monitors network data in real time and responds actively when it detects suspicious transmissions. However, suffered from the large amount of redundancy and high correlation of network data, the traditional IDS have defects in low detection rate and high computational overhead. In this paper, we propose a network data classification mechanism (CPEL). data preprocessing of network traffic data is first performed using correlation-based feature selection (CFS) and principal component analysis (PCA). CFS selects the best features in the data, PCA to dimensionality reduction and denoising. Then, we use multiple classifiers to perform anomaly detection, and select the best three classifiers according to the classification effect. On this basis, we use the majority vote as the ensemble learning (EL) method of combination rules to further improve the performance of the classifier. Experimental results on the benchmark NSL-KDD and WSN-DS datasets indicate that this mechanism outperforms a single algorithm in accuracy and detection rate. In the meantime, computational overhead is remarkably reduced.

In order to select a composition scheme that meets user's needs and high performance from large-scale web services in the edge cloud, this paper proposes a trusted service composition optimization scheme called TSC-ECFA for edge cloud, which applies the predation strategy to the firefly algorithm (FA) and divides the services with the same input and output into one category, reducing the number of combinations to search for feasible solutions. The cotangent chaos theory is used to generate the initial firefly population and disturb the location of the individual to improve the overall search efficiency of FA. This paper also improves the step factor and attractiveness formula of FA to give full play to the detection ability of the step factor in the early stage of the algorithm, and balance the local search and the global search. Considering that the QoS attribute values of the service are vulnerable to be tampered with, the blockchain is used to store the QoS attribute values to ensure the tamper-proof and reliability of the QoS attribute value. Finally, simulation experiments compare the number of iterations and optimization of the three algorithms. The experimental results show that the comprehensive performance of TSC-ECFA is better than other algorithms.

PIWI-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) are a type of small non-coding RNAs which bind with the PIWI proteins to exert biological effects in various regulatory mechanisms. A growing amount of evidence reveals that exosomal piRNAs are potential biomarkers for diagnosis and treatment of complex diseases. Effective methods for the prediction of exosomal piRNAs are the foundation of piRNA functional research. In this study, we propose an end-to-end deep network for identifying exosomal piRNAs based on features learned from natural language processing (NLP) models for sequence embedding with attention mechanism. First, a benchmark dataset is constructed by processing piRNA subcellular localization annotated data and sequence data. Moreover, bagging positive unlabeled learning is applied to get the reliable negative set. Finally, we treat a piRNA sequence as a sentence and its k-mer subsequence as a token. Sequence embedding models with self-attention mechanism is designed to extract features from exosome piRNA sequences, which are used for the prediction task. Compared with three competing methods, our model achieves the best performance and reveals the key factors of exosomal piRNA sequences by the attention mechanism. Our model characterizes exosomal piRNAs and could be beneficial for researchers to investigate exosomal piRNAs’ functions.
