To handle the triple hidden terminal problems, this paper proposes OCO, an asynchronous multi-channel MAC protocol with opportunistic cooperation for wireless sensor networks. By adopting opportunistic cooperation, OCO effectively alleviates, if not eliminates, the triple hidden terminal problems. More importantly, OCO is fully distributed with no requirements of time synchronization or multi-radio scheme, so it is easy to be implemented on the real sensor nodes. Via the theoretical analysis, the opportunistic probability that a node cooperates with its neighbor is obtained. To validate the effectiveness of opportunistic cooperation, extensive simulations and real testbed experiments were conducted. The simulation and experimental results show that when the number of channels is large or the network loads are heavy, OCO improves energy efficiency and throughput significantly compared with other works in the literature. © 2010 IEEE.

Limitations of current multi-channel MAC protocols include requiring of strict time synchronization, existing large number of multi-channel hidden terminals, and lacking single-hop broadcast support and sleep mechanism, i.e. duty cycling. This paper proposes an asynchronous duty cycle based multichannel MAC protocol, called DCM, for wireless sensor networks. Instead of requiring time synchronization among nodes, DCM takes advantage of receiver-initiated cross channel handshake mechanism to make a channel reservation for data transmission, and employs receiver adjustment mechanism to tackle the problem of the loss of broadcasting data and to improve broadcast reliability. According to theoretical analysis using Queueing theory, this paper obtains the average number of available channels. The simulation and testbed experimental results show that DCM reduces the number of multi-channel hidden terminals effectively, and achieves significant improvement in network throughput with increasing benefit as traffic loads increase while maintaining higher energy efficiency.

With the rapid development of the Internet, Mobile Crowdsensing System (MCS) is widely used in various fields. Because of the insufficient number of users’ participation and the insufficient amount of uploaded sensing data, the research of incentive mechanism is particularly important in MCS. Reverse auction mechanism is one of the efficient incentive mechanism in MCS. The platform is responsible for publishing a group of tasks which are bidded by the workers, and only the winning workers are authorized to complete the tasks. One of the critical factors for successful bidding is the distance between the tasks and the workers. However, most workers in MCS always keep moving. So this paper proposes a prediction based reverse auction incentive mechanism—RMMP. We use the Semi-Markov model to predict the position of workers at the next moment. According to the predicated positions, our reverse auction incentive mechanism selects the winner workers with the minimum movement distance and bidding price. Experiment results on real dataset show that our RMMP mechanism has remarkable performance compared with the existing mechanisms. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Recognizing human complex activities has become an essential topic in pervasive computing research area. With the growing popularity of mobile phones, more and more studies have been dedicated to identifying human complex activities using mobile phones in recent years. However, previous works often restrain the position and orientation of cell phones which limit the applicability of their methods. To overcome this limitation, we propose a novel position-irrelevant activities identification method named PSHCAR, which efficiently utilize information from multiple sensors on smartphones. Moreover, besides commonly-used features such as accelerometer and gyroscope, PSHCAR also employ the knowledge about scenes of activities, which is helpful but ignored by previous works, to identify complex activities of mobile phone users. Comparative experiments show that our method performs better than several strong baselines on the task of human complex activities recognition. In conclusion, our method achieves state-of-the-art performance without any limitation on position or orientation of mobile phones. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2018.

In this paper, a multi-channel MAC protocol, called M&M, with multiple channel reservation is proposed to tackle the channel conflict problem. M&M is fully distributed with no requirements of time synchronization or multi-radio, so it is very practical to implement M&M in resource-constrained sensor nodes. M&M can make nodes to choose one actually idle channel for communications from all assumed idle channels. Therefore, M&M can greatly alleviate, if not completely eliminate, packet collisions resulted by the channel conflict, and thus conserve more energy to prolong the lifetime of WSNs. To investigate the values of multiple channel reservation, extensive simulation and real testbed experiments are conducted. The results show that when the number of channels becomes larger or loads are heavy, M&M improves energy efficiency and throughput significantly. © 2010 IEEE.

As location-based social network (LBSN) services become more popular in people’s lives, Point of Interest (POI) recommendation has become an important research *** recommendation is to recommend places where users have not visited before. There are two problems in POI recommendation: sparsity and precision. Most users only check-in a few POIs in an LBSN. To tackle the sparse problem in a certain extent, we compute the similarity between the check-in datasets of different times. For the precision problem, we incorporate temporal information and geographical information. The temporal information will influence how the user chooses and allow the user to visit different distance point on different day. The geographical information is also used as a control for points which are too far away from the user’s check-in data. Our experimental results on real life LBSN datasets show that the proposed approach outperforms the other POI recommendation methods substantially. © Springer Science+Business Media Singapore 2016.

Currently, most open vocabulary models rely on CLIP (Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training) to classify masked regions, but CLIP models still have many drawbacks. The traditional transformer model is context aware through self attention, but this local context based mechanism is limited by the sequence length of information, it can also impact model effect. Inspired by the article BiFormer, This article replaces the traditional transformer model in the Side Adapter Network (SAN) model with a variant module BIVD block based on BiFormer blocks. This model follows the latest transformer model and extracts features using a four layer feature pyramid structure, For the reduced spatial resolution caused by patch merging, add a Visual-Decoder to reshape the visual vector sequence into a spatial feature map, and restore it to the original resolution through convolution and upsampling. This can enhance the extracted feature information through a feature pyramid without affecting the fusion with CLIP layer features. But the cost is increasing the cost of the model. This article was tested on 5 commonly used datasets and showed a stable improvement in accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

Universal combinatorial coding derives from the combination principle and its core is ordinal calculation. The solution of ordinal is a process of computing permutation and combination values. But permutation and combination computing is very time-consuming. As a result, adopting optimized methods or parallel techniques to increase ordinal calculation efficiency is very necessary. parallel optimization algorithms of the ordinal in universal combinatorial coding are advanced based on CPU multi-core and multi-thread techniques in this paper, including prime splitting and unequal parallel algorithms. Firstly, the thesis simplifies the multiplication and division calculations of the ordinal parallel computing through prime splitting optimization. Secondly, the thesis analyzes the deficiency of equal parallel that the unbalanced computing time of each part will lead to inefficient parallel computing of the ordinal, and then proposes the unequal parallel algorithm to shorten the ordinal number calculation. The experiment results of prime splitting and unequal parallel algorithm proved that two parallel optimizations are better in improving the efficiency of ordinal computing. © 2014. There are limitations in traditional anti-theft technologies. All the technologies have a common ground, that is: the devices are exposed to the space, also easily found and destroyed by adversaries. This paper demonstrates a Hidden Anti-theft System (HAS) based on wireless sensor network. The sensors can be hidden in walls and furniture. The intruder influences the transmitting link, and RSSI of the link changes. According to the changes, the system can detect the movement in monitoring area, and keep invisible. HAS is applied in indoor environment. Experiment results show that HAS achieves very low false positive and no false negative. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

Neural architecture search aims to automatically design network architectures by machines, which is expected to bring about a new revolution in machine learning. Despite high expectations, the effectiveness and efficiency of existing neural architecture search solutions are unclear, and the inefficiency of neural architecture search solutions is mainly attributed to inaccurate architecture evaluation. In this work, this paper divides the large search space of neural architecture search into multiple modules, effectively reducing the error caused by shared parameters to ensure that the candidate architectures in the modules are fully trained. By adopting a block search method, this paper can Evaluate all candidate architectures in a module, addressing the problem of inaccurate evaluation. In addition, high-quality data is necessary. Under the guidance of the teacher model, combined with the ground truth, the neural architecture search is supervised by the double loss function. Under the constraint of the same amount of computation, the method in this paper achieves 77.3% top-level accuracy on ImageNet., which is 1.0% higher than the efficient network EfficientNet-B0, and 0.3% higher than the DNA method without additional computation. Therefore, the double loss block neural architecture search model proposed in this paper significantly improves the effectiveness of neural architecture search. © 2022 IEEE.
