In real-world dialog systems, the ability to understand the user’s emotions and interact anthropomorphically is of great significance. Emotion Recognition in Conversation (ERC) is one of the key ways to accomplish this goal and has attracted growing attention. How to model the context in a conversation is a central aspect and a major challenge of ERC tasks. Most existing approaches struggle to adequately incorporate both global and local contextual information, and their network structures are overly sophisticated. For this reason, we propose a simple and effective Dual-stream Recurrence-Attention Network (DualRAN), which is based on Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) and Multi-head ATtention network (MAT). DualRAN eschews the complex components of current methods and focuses on combining recurrence-based methods with attention-based ones. DualRAN is a dual-stream structure mainly consisting of local- and global-aware modules, modeling a conversation simultaneously from distinct perspectives. In addition, we develop two single-stream network variants for DualRAN, i.e., SingleRANv1 and SingleRANv2. According to the experimental findings, DualRAN boosts the weighted F1 scores by 1.43% and 0.64% on the IEMOCAP and MELD datasets, respectively, in comparison to the strongest baseline. On two other datasets (i.e., EmoryNLP and DailyDialog), our method also attains competitive results. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Modeling cellular dynamics from single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data is critical for understanding cell development and underlying gene regulatory relationships. Many current methods rely on single-cell velocity to obtain pseudotime, which can lead to inconsistencies between pseudotime and velocity. It is challenging to simultaneously infer cell pseudotime and gene interaction networks, especially in multi-branch differentiation scenarios. We present single-cell Piecewise Network (scPN), a novel high-dimensional dynamical modeling approach that iteratively extracts temporal patterns and inter-gene relationships from scRNA-seq data. To tackle multi-branch differentiation challenges, scPN models gene regulatory dynamics using piecewise gene-gene interaction networks, offering an interpretable framework for deciphering complex gene regulation patterns over time. Results on synthetic data and multiple scRNA-seq datasets demonstrate the superior performance of scPN in reconstructing cellular dynamics and identifying key transcription factors involved in development compared to existing methods. To the best of our knowledge, scPN is the first attempt at modeling that can recover pseudotime, velocity fields, and gene interactions all at once on multi-branch datasets. This paper studies the power switch open-circuit(OC) fault in two-level three-phase (2L3P) voltage source inverter (VSI). According to the topological symmetry of the inverter, when it works in healthy conditions, its phase currents are standard sine waves with only 120-degree phase difference, and the similarity between phase currents is high. When OC fault occurs, the current waveforms of both normal and fault phases will be distorted, the similarity will be changed. Therefore, this paper introduces the Gram matrix in image processing to measure the similarity and proposes a fast and computationally efficient diagnostic method based on the eigenvector of Gram-Matrix. Physical experiment shows that both single-switch fault and multiple-switch fault on the same leg can be effectively detected and located.

Constrained multiobjective optimization problems (CMOPs) are prevalent in various real-world applications, presenting a formidable challenge to existing evolutionary algorithms when faced with intricate constraints. When solving CMOPs, a crucial concern is achieving a balance between convergence, diversity, and feasibility. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a two-archive-based constrained multiobjective competitive swarm optimizer. The algorithm preserves two collaborative and complementary archives to improve population convergence and feasibility. By implementing a competitive particle swarm mechanism, offspring solutions are generated by drawing upon solutions from both archives, thus capitalizing on their synergistic effect and exceptional information. An adaptive parameter is also used to adjust the bias in choosing the winner in the paired competition during the evolution. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in handling constrained multiobjective optimization problems.

The self-organized criticality is a fundamental property for organisms to perform normal functional activities. Extensive large-scale biological neural network researches have found the existence of self-organized criticality through avalanche phenomenon, which is typical characteristic of self-organized criticality. However, such research method is not suitable for small-scale biological neural network, because number of neurons in small-scale biological neural network is not large enough to support the emergence of avalanche phenomenon. It has been demonstrated that branching parameter can also be used to describe the propagation of activity in the neural network. Here, in this paper, the C. elegans neural network composed of 302 neurons is selected to investigate the existence of self-organized criticality using branching parameter. Based on the obtained connectome of C. elegans, a directed graph model is constructed to simulate the gradient potential of neurons and the activity of C. elegans, then, the existence of self-organized criticality in the neural network of C. elegans is proved by using branching parameter method. Meanwhile, the result is further confirmed by analyzing the calcium activity data of C. elegans obtained from biological experiments. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Few-shot learning (FSL) as a data-scarce method, aims to recognize instances of unseen classes solely based on very few examples. However, the model can easily become overfitted due to the biased distribution formed with extremely limited training data. This paper presents a task specific data augmentation approach by transferring samples from base dataset to the novel tasks in an encoder-decoder paradigm, which guarantees generating semantically meaningful features. Specifically, the feature transfer process is carried out in semantic space. We further impose a compactness constraint to the generated features with the prototypes working as the reference points, which ensures the generated features distribute around the class centers. Moreover, we incorporate the cluster centers of the query set with the prototypes of the support set to reduce the bias of the class centers. With the supervision of the compactness loss, the model is encouraged to generate discriminative features with high inter-class dispersion and intra-class compactness. Extensive experiments show that our method outperforms the state-of-the-arts on four benchmarks, namely MiniimageNet, TieredimageNet, CUB and CIFAR-FS. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The high-speed train inspection robot needs to perform alignment parking and image acquisition at the position of the train bogie, and reliable alignment identification marks are the basis for the inspection robot to achieve highprecision alignment parking. The existing alignment method is mainly based on the way of artificial beacons, in the inspection workshop through manual laying of additional identification marks such as QR codes, magnetic stripes, RFID electronic tags, auxiliary robot alignment parking, but this type of method in beacon maintenance, laying costs and other aspects have certain limitations. Aiming at the problem, this paper proposes a vision-based bogie beacon detection method, which combines the target detection technology with the unique bogie spatial structure feature of the train, and provides reliable identification marks for the alignment and parking of the inspection robot. This method improves the alignment accuracy, reduces the cost of laying and maintaining artificial beacons, and has high application value. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper addresses the problems of the H ∞ analysis and control of fractional-order singularly perturbed systems with the commensurate order 1 < ν < 2. Based on the bounded real lemma for fractional-order systems and singular fractional-order systems, the sufficient conditions for the H ∞ performance analysis of fractional-order singularly perturbed systems are firstly presented in terms of -independent linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Then, the state feedback controllers are designed, and the sufficient -independent stabilization conditions are established via bilinear matrix inequalities(BMIs). Moreover, by the provided iterative algorithm, these BMI-based conditions can be solved based on LMIs. Finally, two numerical examples are exploited to verify the effectiveness of the proposed results.

The traditional kinematic calibration method for manipulators requires precise three-dimensional measuring instruments to measure the end pose, which is not only expensive due to the high cost of the measuring instruments but also not applicable to all manipulators. Another calibration method uses a camera, but the system error caused by the camera's parameters affects the calibration accuracy of the kinematics of the robot arm. In order to solve this problem, this paper reduces the dimensionality of the experimental data and redesigns the objective function to be optimized. That is, the three-dimensional positions of the feature points of the calibration plate under each manipulator attitude corresponding to the actual kinematic model and the classic D-H kinematic model are mapped into the pixel coordinate system, and the sum of Euclidean distance errors of the pixel coordinates of the two is used as the objective function to be optimized. And then, nonlinear optimization and parameter compensation are performed. The experimental results show that the pixel deviation of the end pose corresponding to the optimized D-H kinematic model proposed in this paper and the end pose corresponding to the actual kinematic model in the pixel coordinate system is 0.99 pixels. Compared with the 7.9 deviation pixels between the pixel coordinates calculated by the classic D-H kinematic model and the actual pixel coordinates, the deviation is reduced by nearly 7 pixels for an 87% reduction in error. Therefore, the proposed method can effectively avoid system errors caused by camera parameters in visual calibration, can improve the absolute positioning accuracy of the end of the robotic arm, and has good economy and universality. © 2022 IEEE.

The advent of single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) has facilitated the acquisition of high-resolution data regarding cell heterogeneity across various tissues. A fundamental and critical step in the analysis of scRNA-seq data is cell type identification. An appropriate graph construction strategy can reflect the topological structure between cells and allows for detailed exploration of the relationships between cells and genes. Given the sparsity of scRNA-seq data and the pronounced noise generated by shallow sequencing, choosing an appropriate graph construction strategy has become a significant challenge. In this paper, we propose a single-cell clustering method, named Sc-PNNMF, based on structural perturbation of nonnegative matrix factorization. Sc-PNNMF employs a structural perturbation algorithm to optimize the gene expression matrix. The optimized matrix guides the matrix factorization process, effectively overcoming the impact of data sparsity and significant noise in gene expression data on the graph construction strategy. We compared the clustering abilities of Sc-PNNMF with five other methods on ten real datasets. © 2024 IEEE.
