Due to the existence of the large scale matrix transposition, the memory bandwidth becomes the bottleneck of the real-timeprocessing in spaceborne SAR imaging. The paper reports a preliminary study result of the memory architecture in the spaceborne SAR imaging system. It consists of algorithm summarizations, implementation difficulty discussions and processing requirement analysis. Then, a new memory architecture is being proposed to improve memory access efficiency and its implementation is specified. Finally, results of different methods are compared and imaging results validates the presented memory architecture.

This paper presents a method of the implementation of a verification platform. The platform is applied to an ASIC chip designed for the key algorithm of SAR signal processing. The design is a complicated process and the chip function is computationally burdensome, thus the verification is difficult. Balancing the competing demands for efficiency, quality, time and cost, the verification platform is carefully designed using the Verilog language, with Synopsys VCS-MX2009 adopted. The experimental results show that the design errors of timing and anti-protocols have been exactly checked out and the verification coverage reaches 100% at last. The platform possesses satisfying characteristics such as high performance, fine configurability, flexibility and expansibility.

This design not only simplifies the development process, but successfully achieved the purpose of improving the image quality of remote sensing image. This paper compared the differences between monostatic SAR and bistatic SAR by introducing the spatial spectrum theory. The signal models of different radar systems are analyzed. The SAR image processing is considered as a Fourier transformation in the spatial spectrum where the SAR echo corresponds to the sampling point. Three kind of SAR system are simulated using method of moment which ensures the authenticity of the simulations. Because of working in L band, geosynchronous synthetic aperture radar interferometry (GEO InSAR) and differential interferometry (GEO D-InSAR) system is sensitive to the interferometric phase screen errors introduced by ionosphere. However, conventional ionosphere time-spatial freezing model used in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) SAR is no longer valid due to the long integration time and large imaging width of GEO SAR. In this paper, especially aimed at the time-spatial background ionosphere variation, we firstly theoretically analyzed its impacts on GEO InSAR phase screen. Then, some simulations were conducted by virtue of the real Total Electron Content (TEC) data to study the impacts. The results suggest the serious errors will be brought in the GEO InSAR phase screen by the time-spatial background ionosphere variation.

During the tracking process of infrared (IR) multi-targets, sometimes there exists occlusion of targets in a short time, which leads to target losing in subsequent tracking. In order to improve the accuracy of detecting and the robustness of tracking, we propose to detect moving IR targets utilizing the correlation of their tracks and adopt the Kalman Filter model to do tracking. Both the detecting and tracking algorithms are implemented on a FPGA system. In order to lower the computational cost, the features of the targets are stored in the memory instead of the whole frame image. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method is effective to address the drawbacks of the short-time occlusion of targets efficiently with high speed.

In practical applications, target detection and tracking requires both high detection accuracy and good real-time performance, especially in the case of hardware implementation. Hence, the target detection and tracking algorithm should be simple and effective and the hardware needs to be powerful enough to meet the real-time requirement. In this paper, we proposed a moving target detection and tracking method based on fast corner detection and frame subtraction under dynamic background. An emerging eight-core DSP, i.e., TMS320C6678, is then adopted for the implementation of the proposed algorithm. Since it is multi-core, the algorithm can be divided into several small tasks executed in different cores simultaneously, which save running time dramatically. Experimental results show that the proposed method has good detection and tracking performance and TMS320C6678 is able to realize real-time tracking of the moving car under the dynamic background.

A novel adaptive real-time image compression framework based on TMS320C6713 is presented in this paper. Via analyzing image texture, different compression ratio is applied for reducing the code stream. Owing to its low-cost, highspeed and low power performances, C6713 is selected as the main processor of framework. Firstly, the original image is transformed through lifting wavelet transform algorithm. Then, the resultant transformed data is encoded with zero tree wavelet, thereby completing the compression of 320x256 image with input bandwidth 2.34MB/s and output bandwidth 100kB/s. Moreover, the experimental results demonstrate that the adaptive image ratio can reach 25:1 with PSNR 30 and frame frequency can achieve 25fps with a high-speed processor.
