An improved genetic clustering algorithm for the multi-depot vehicle routing problem

The multi-depot vehicle routing problem (MDVRP) is a complex combinatorial problem with many real-world applications in transportation and distribution logistics. This paper considers not only the minimum distance required to deliver goods, but also the workload imbalance in terms of the distances travelled by the used vehicles and their loads. Thus, a new type of geometric shape based genetic clustering algorithm is proposed. A genetic algorithm based on this clustering technique is developed for the solution process of the multi-objective formulations of the MDVRP. A set of problems obtained from the literature is used to compare the efficiency of the proposed algorithm with the nearest neighbour algorithm so as to solve it. The computational experiments on data sets illustrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed approach. © 2015 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

The two areas of picture languages and membrane computing were linked by array-rewriting P system in which array objects and context-free array-rewriting rules are used in order to generate picture languages. While rewriting arrays in the array-rewriting P system is in a sequential manner, parallel array P system (PAP) involves rewriting of arrays in the regions in parallel in order to generate picture languages. A variant of PAP, known as tabled array P system (TPAP), uses sets of context-free array-rewriting rules, called tables of rules. Generative power of TPAP in comparison with PAP and certain other kinds of picture array generating mechanisms are investigated. Copyright © 2016 American Scientific Publishers. All rights reserved.

The authentication error in Two-Hop wireless networks is considered without knowledge of eavesdropper channels and location. This paper presents an eavesdropper model with authentication error and two eavesdropping ways. In the model, the authentication error is expressed a pair(p_1, p_2). Based on the authentication error, a cooperative transmission protocol against impersonation attack is presented. Then, the number of eavesdroppers can be tolerated is analyzed while the desired secrecy is achieved with high probability in the limit of a large number of relay nodes. Final, we draw two conclusions for authentication error: 1) the impersonate nodes are chosen as relay is the dominant factor of the transmitted message leakage, and the impersonation attack does seriously decrease the number of eavesdroppers can be tolerated. 2) The Error authentication to legitimate nodes is almost no effect on the number of eavesdroppers can be tolerated.

Here we report a controllable four DNA sub-tiles, self-assembling into 4-arm DNA tiles, under control of a DNA strand displacement based on DNA sequential circuit. The motif is encoded, compiled and simulated successively in Visual DSD software. The simulation results show that the four kinds of sub-tiles in the motif combine to their neighbors one after another with a certain time delay and finally form into 4-arm DNA tiles. The formation of the 4th arm of a 4-arm DNA tile indicates that all the 4-arm DNA tiles have been assembled, which implies high productivity of the 4-arm DNA tiles. We also analyze the time responses of the DNA sequence circuit by adjusting the concentration proportions of reactants and/or ordering bind and unbind rates of toeholds in simulation. These simulation results demonstrate that high concentration proportions of reactants and/or toeholds reacting at ascending order rates can shorten the time response more sharply than that low concentration proportion of reactants and/or in a descending order. The motif furthers the integration for DNA sub-tile self-assembly and DNA strand displacement. Copyright © 2015 American Scientific Publishers.

For grain logistics information's real-time transmission and management, a method of using smart phone as a client terminal is proposed and a relevant grain logistics management information system based on SMS technique designed. The grain logistics information can be transmitted between the smart phone and the database server bymeans of SMS and windows service. And the real-timemonitoring of grain logistics can be realized in virtue of the platform of management information system. This system realized such functions as collecting grain logistics information, distributing scheduling information and monitoring the grain vehicle location information. Test results showed that the grain logistics information can be collected and managed conveniently and effectively with our system. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2014.

A chemical system for facile and accurate detection of 2,4-dichlorophenol （DCP） via iron （Ⅱ） phthalocyanine （Fe（Ⅱ）Pc） catalyzed chromogenic reaction is reported for the first time. In this system, DCP could be oxidized by dioxygen with the catalysis of Fe（Ⅱ）Pc and then coupled with 4-aminoantipyrine （4-AAP） to generate pink antipyrilquinoneimine dye. control experiments showed that the addition of ethanol could obviously enhance the catalytic activity of heterogeneous Fe（Ⅱ）Pc catalysts because of the partial dissolution of Fe（II）Pc nanocubes, which was confirmed by the SEM analysis. On the basis of the detection results of DCP in the range from 2×10^-5 to 9×10^-4 mol/L, we obtained a regression equation （A = 0.187 5 ＋ 0.01 209C （R2=-0.995 6）） with the detection limit （3σ） of 3.26×10^-6 mol/L, which could be successfully used in detecting the real samples.

Research on the ultra-weak luminescence of maize seeds

The ultra-weak luminescence (UWL) feature of plant seeds is investigated. Before UWL measurement, the maize seeds are moistened in distilled water for various periods, which are 2h, 4h, 6h and 8h. And then the seeds are dried to the mass they had before moistened. The UWL measurements are made before and after distilled water injects into measured samples. A kind of double exponential function is proved fitting the tested data well as the coefficient of determination of fitting is above 0.97. It is observed that UWL properties of different samples have obvious regularities. The dry seeds contain a large number of hydrophilic pores, so water quickly permeates into maize seeds and forces the seeds to produce stress UWL after water injection. The intensity of UWL depends on the structure of seeds and the time of moistening. Over a period of time, the different UWL intensity of samples decays to the same level as the seeds without moistening. The study results contribute to the understanding of relationships between the structure of seeds and metabolic activity and its UWL specialties. Detection of insects-contaminated wheat based on PSO-BP network

Based on biophoton analytical technology, the ultraweak photons emitted from the normal and insects-contaminated wheat are measured separately. Nine parameters of wheat self-illuminating characteristic are used as wheat feature vector. The study proposed using the PSO-BP algorithm (Particle Swarm optimization-BP neural network) as the classification algorithm. The algorithm is trained to distinguish the normal and insects-contaminated wheat. The experimental results show that the recognition precision can reach to 90%. The model can provide a new thought for the detecting the wheat pests. © 2013 Asian Network for Scientific information.
