The term "metaverse", a three-dimensional virtual universe similar to the real realm, has always been full of imagination since it was put forward in the 1990s. Recently, it is possible to realize the metaverse with the continuous emergence and progress of various technologies, and thus it has attracted extensive attention again. It may bring a lot of benefits to human society such as reducing discrimination, eliminating individual differences, and socializing. However, everything has security and privacy concerns, which is no exception for the metaverse. In this article, we firstly analyze the concept of the metaverse and propose that it is a super virtual-reality (VR) ecosystem compared with other VR technologies. Then, we carefully analyze and elaborate on possible security and privacy concerns from four perspectives: user information, communication, scenario, and goods, and immediately, the potential solutions are correspondingly put forward. Meanwhile, we propose the need to take advantage of the new buckets effect to comprehensively address security and privacy concerns from a philosophical perspective, which hopefully will bring some progress to the metaverse community. Rain streaks noise is one of the greatest influence of outdoor scene tasks. In order to improve the effect of the outdoor scene tasks, we need to reduce the impact of the rain streaks noise while ensuring that other important details are preserved. To handle this issue, we proposed a multi-scale recurrent network (MSReNet) for single image rain removal. By divided MSReNet into two stages: (i) removal rain streaks in the first stage and (ii) restoring background-truth details in the second stage, our network can availably remove huge rain streaks and restore some important background details. Extensive experiments on both synthetic and real images demonstrated that the proposed MSReNet prominently exceeds many recent state-of-the-art methods. Taking the proposed method effectiveness, it is also attractive as a preprocessing process for some visual tasks. © 2020 IEEE.

image denoising is an essential pretreatment for most of image processing pipelines, which has been extensively studied for several decades. Recently, convolutional neural networks with skip connections show promising performances on image denoising due to their discriminative feature modeling and utilizing of features from former layers. However, they only apply coarse feature fusion strategies like pixel-wise addition or concatenation which are insufficient in image denoising. In this work, we propose a novel network architecture to exploit finer feature fusion. Specifically, a module based on gate recurrent unit is introduced into the architecture, fusing features from different layers and adopting finer feature selection at the same time. Experiments on multiple challenging datasets show the effectiveness of the proposed network.

M3YOLOv5: Feature enhanced YOLOv5 model for mandibular fracture detection

Background: It is very important to detect mandibular fracture region. However, the size of mandibular fracture region is different due to different anatomical positions, different sites and different degrees of force. It is difficult to locate and recognize fracture region accurately. Methods: To solve these problems, M3YOLOv5 model is proposed in this paper. Three feature enhancement strategies are designed, which improve the ability of model to locate and recognize mandibular fracture region. Firstly, Global-Local Feature Extraction Module (GLFEM) is designed. By effectively combining Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Transformer, the problem of insufficient global information extraction ability of CNN is complemented, and the positioning ability of the model to the fracture region is improved. Secondly, in order to improve the interaction ability of context information, Deep-Shallow Feature Interaction Module (DSFIM) is designed. In this module, the spatial information in the shallow feature layer is embedded to the deep feature layer by the spatial attention mechanism, and the semantic information in the deep feature layer is embedded to the shallow feature layer by the channel attention mechanism. The fracture region recognition ability of the model is improved. Finally, Multi-scale Multi receptive-field Feature Mixing Module (MMFMM) is designed. Deep separate convolution chains are used in this modal, which is composed by multiple layers of different scales and different dilation coefficients. This method provides richer receptive field for the model, and the ability to detect fracture region of different scales is improved. Results: The precision rate, mAP value, recall rate and F1 value of M3YOLOv5 model on mandibular fracture CT data set are 97.18%, 96.86%, 94.42% and 95.58% respectively. Mitosis detection is one of the challenging problems in computational pathology, and mitotic count is an important index of cancer grading for pathologists. However, current counts of mitotic nuclei rely on pathologists looking microscopically at the number of mitotic nuclei in hot spots, which is subjective and time-consuming. In this paper, we propose a two-stage cascaded network, named FoCasNet, for mitosis detection. In the first stage, a detection network named Mdet is proposed to detect as many mitoses as possible. In the second stage, a classification network Mclass is proposed to refine the results of the first stage. In addition, the attention mechanism, normalization method, and hybrid anchor branch classification subnet are introduced to improve the overall detection performance. Our method achieves the current highest F1-score of 0.888 on the public dataset ICPR 2012. We also evaluated our method on the GZMH dataset released by our research team for the first time and reached the highest F1-score of 0.563, which is also better than multiple classic detection networks widely used at present. To improve the interactivity of 3D virtual sand table displays, an industrial park 3D virtual sand table display system based on augmented reality is designed. The system consists of multiple modules. The design of the animation browsing module is based on the roaming walking model environment. The walking and roaming module can enable participants to experience the real visual and tactile virtual space in the process of input browsing. In the surrounding environment and traffic condition module, the surrounding environment and traffic condition display are created by means of static pictures and picture buttons. The VRML scene space module is responsible for creating objects such as VRML viewpoints. Scenario module transformation completes event transmission through routing. The virtual sand table VRML optimization modeling module is responsible for constructing the virtual sand table VRML model. The function of the multiperson collaboration module is to provide collaboration capability for plotting and discussion functions. In the multiuser detection module, yolov2 is used for multiuser detection. The augmented reality hardware module is mainly composed of computers and hololens. Through the combination of hardware and software, a three-dimensional virtual sand table display of an industrial park is realized. The test results show that the performance of the designed system is good and can meet the design requirements.

Mitosis nuclei count is one of the important indicators for the pathological diagnosis of breast cancer. The manual annotation needs experienced pathologists, which is very time-consuming and inefficient. With the development of deep learning methods, some models with good performance have emerged, but the generalization ability should be further strengthened. In this paper, we propose a two-stage mitosis segmentation and classification method, named SCMitosis. Firstly, the segmentation performance with a high recall rate is achieved by the proposed depthwise separable convolution residual block and channel-spatial attention gate. Then, a classification network is cascaded to further improve the detection performance of mitosis nuclei. The proposed model is verified on the ICPR 2012 dataset, and the highest F-score value of 0.8687 is obtained compared with the current state-of-the-art algorithms. In addition, the model also achieves good performance on GZMH dataset, which is prepared by our group and will be firstly released with the publication of this paper. The landscape of natural language processing (NLP) has been revolutionized by advancements that enable the upstream training of knowledge-rich models for downstream tasks, particularly named entity recognition (NER). Traditional NER approaches, treating it as a sequence labeling problem, often fail to deeply understand the whole text and to capture syntactic nuances of text. To address these issues, we introduce PFMRC, a novel machine reading comprehension (MRC) framework that leverages the strengths of both contextual semantics and syntactic information for enhanced NER performance. PFMRC employs a dual-pronged feature extraction strategy, utilizing RoBERTa and BiGRU to encode text features for contextual semantic information and representing them as node features of the graph structure, and a weighted embedding representation to translate syntactic dependencies into graph-structured edge features. Our model further incorporates Graph Attention Networks (GAT) to harmonize node and edge features, facilitating a nuanced understanding of text. The integration of prior knowledge and the modeling of intricate syntactic relationships through Graph Attention Networks (GAT) not only improves entity recognition accuracy but also enriches the feature representation, leading to more robust NER outcomes. Extensive experiments on three Chinese datasets demonstrate PFMRC's superior performance over state-of-the-art models.

At present, 3D models are applied to many fields, and the action control of 3D model needs be studied further. In order to control a 3D model using user-acceptable devices, this paper proposes a method to transfer the posture of the skeleton captured by Kinect to a skeleton of the Soldier model, which is a sample in Microsoft's DirectX SDK. First, using the Kinect to collect the user's skeleton information, combined with the initial posture of the Soldier skeleton, through node matching, inverse mirror transformation, transformation from absolute to relative, coordinate space transformation, to generate a skeleton with the same structure as the Soldier skeleton, which can be applied to the Soldier model. And in a virtual reality scene, the corresponding actions of users can drive the Soldier model. Experiments show that the method is feasible and effective. The proposed method can also be referenced and applied to a target skeleton with other structures.

With advancements in communication technology, there is increasing demand for high-quality voice communication and accurate speech recognition. In the complex acoustic environment of a recording classroom, noise, reverberation and other interferences can seriously affect the quality and intelligibility of the picked-up target speech signal, which in turn affects the effectiveness of the subsequent speech communication and recognition, so it is crucial to enhance the target speech signal in order to satisfy people's demand for clear and recognizable speech information. In this paper, based on the network model of Deep Complex Convolutional Recurrent Network (DCCRN), we introduce the F-T-LSTM structure to more accurately describe the correlation between the time and frequency domains of speech, and at the same time, we integrate the channel attention mechanism and the spatial attention mechanism to carry out a more comprehensive feature extraction of the speech features in the complex domain, and we skillfully concentrate the computational power in the area with the most feature-rich information, so that the quality and intelligibility of speech signals under the complex domain are significantly improved. significantly improve the overall performance of speech enhancement networks in the complex domain.
