Unsupervised hashing has attracted much attention for binary representation learning due to the requirement of economical storage and efficiency of binary codes. It aims to encode high-dimensional features in the Hamming space with similarity preservation between instances. However, most existing methods learn hash functions in manifold-based approaches. Those methods capture the local geometric structures (i.e., pairwise relationships) of data, and lack satisfactory performance in dealing with real-world scenarios that produce similar features (e.g. color and shape) with different semantic information. To address this challenge, in this work, we propose an effective unsupervised method, namely Jointly Personalized Sparse Hashing (JPSH), for binary representation learning. To be specific, firstly, we propose a novel personalized hashing module, i.e., Personalized Sparse Hashing (PSH). Different personalized subspaces are constructed to reflect category-specific attributes for different clusters, adaptively mapping instances within the same cluster to the same Hamming space. In addition, we deploy sparse constraints for different personalized subspaces to select important features. We also collect the strengths of the other clusters to build the PSH module with avoiding over-fitting. Then, to simultaneously preserve semantic and pairwise similarities in our proposed JPSH, we incorporate the proposed PSH and manifold-based hash learning into the seamless formulation. As such, JPSH not only distinguishes the instances from different clusters, but also preserves local neighborhood structures within the cluster. Finally, an alternating optimization algorithm is adopted to iteratively capture analytical solutions of the JPSH model. We apply the proposed representation learning algorithm JPSH to the similarity search task. Due to the continuous growth in steel market demand and the shift towards small batches and multiple varieties, efficient storage management has become a key factor in increasing the profitability of logistics parks. However, the current storage methods, due to the unreasonable allocation of stack positions, still result in energy waste during the dispatch phase and the need for trucks to pick up goods across multiple yards. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a comprehensive optimization scheme to reduce truck transfers and energy consumption in steel product dispatch. First, we constructed an optimization problem model that integrates the spatial layout of the logistics park and order data, aiming to maximize the correlation between steel products within the same yard and reduce the total energy consumption during the dispatch phase. Subsequently, a new algorithm called Enhanced Greedy and Tabu-Assisted Adaptive Large Neighborhood Search (EGTA-ALNS) is introduced. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing ones in terms of solving speed and scale. It effectively optimizes energy consumption during steel dispatch and reduces the number of truck transfers.

In this paper, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system as the contributor of building climate management is studied on multi-zone climate dynamics modelling and control for occupancy comfort. The first-principles model together with data-driven model as the hybrid model is proposed for comprehensive multi-zone hygro-thermal dynamics. The unmodeled climate dynamics such as unknown nonlinearity and uncertainty is modeled in a linear form based on the compact form dynamic linearization (CFDL) method. Then model free adaptive control (MFAC) scheme including controller design and parameter estimation is proposed to realize multi-zone climate control and occupancy comfort. The dynamic response performance of the hybrid model-based adaptive control and the first-principles model-based adaptive control has been tested in a multi-zone building with four different zones. The results show that the proposed hybrid model-based adaptive control scheme can achieve obvious performance improvement in minimizing steady-state error.

RGBD images, which refer to the three-channel color images augmented with depth channel, have been greatly exploited to improve the performance of scene semantic segmentation. RGBD semantic segmentation task is of great significance to help the development of robot navigation and grasping. However, most existing methods addressing RGBD semantic segmentation lack effective feature fusion modules. To address the aforementioned problem, we propose a novel network with two novel modules for feature fusion, namely Channel-Attention based Complementary Feature Fusion Module (CAC-FFM) and Cross-Layer Feature Fusion Module (CL-FFM). Specifically, CAC-FFM, which is essentially based on the channel-attention mechanism, effectively utilizes the complementary information of RGB and depth to generate fusion features, and CL-FFM captures patch-wise features from low-level feature maps to assist the training of high-level features so as to further optimize the segmentation results. Experimental results on the publicly available NYUDv2 dataset validate the effectiveness and superiority of our proposed method.

CondNet: Conditional classifier for scene segmentation

—The fully convolutional network (FCN) has achieved tremendous success in dense visual recognition tasks, such as scene segmentation. The last layer of FCN is typically a global classifier (1×1 convolution) to recognize each pixel to a semantic label. We empirically show that this global classifier, ignoring the intra-class distinction, may lead to sub-optimal results. In this work, we present a conditional classifier to replace the traditional global classifier, where the kernels of the classifier are generated dynamically conditioned on the input. The main advantages of the new classifier consist of: (i) it attends on the intra-class distinction, leading to stronger dense recognition capability;(ii) the conditional classifier is simple and flexible to be integrated into almost arbitrary FCN architectures to improve the prediction. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed classifier performs favourably against the traditional classifier on the FCN architecture. Research and application of Gaussian coupled control bistable stochastic resonance system with independent parameter regulation

The theory of Stochastic Resonance (SR) has drawn significant attention due to its exceptional ability to detect faint signals. Despite this, research to date indicates that for SR systems, whether they are monostable, bistable, or multi-stable, modifications to the system parameters lead to concurrent alterations in the depth and breadth of the potential wells when analyzing engineering signals, which results in suboptimal detection outcomes. To address these issues, a two-dimensional Gaussian bistable coupled SR (GBCSR) system has been proposed that can individually adjust the potential well characteristics. This innovative system facilitates the separate adjustment of shape characteristics of potential, allowing for more precise manipulation of the system's dynamic response. The system's non-linear dynamic traits are explicated through an analysis of the steady-state probability density (SPD) function and the mean first passage time (MFPT), substantiating the effectiveness of the new model. In practical scenarios, a variety of bearing defect signals serve as the objects of detection. The structural parameters of the GBCSR system are co-optimized using the Brain Storm Optimization (BSO) algorithm. This optimization approach leverages the algorithm's ability to enhance population diversity and improve convergence accuracy, thereby optimizing the system's performance. The experimental outcome results show that the proposed system can accurately detect the frequency of bearing fault signals. When compared with traditional SR systems such as the traditional bistable stochastic SR (TBSR), the traditional Gaussian SR system (TGSR), and the cascade stochastic resonance system, the proposed coupled system demonstrates superior performance. In this paper, we consider the problem of sampleddata active anti-disturbance control design for multi-rate control system subject to delayed sampled-data output. The plant considered in this paper is equipped with a slow-rate sensor and a fastrate actuator. In the presence of non-vanishing disturbance, a new output predictor-based observer is first proposed by only using the delayed sampled-data output, so as to effectively estimate system state and disturbance in the inter-sample time interval.A new sampled-data controller that updates at a fast-rate is then designed with the help of active anti-disturbance *** to prediction and active anti-disturbance techniques, the proposed sampled-data control method can effectively reject the influence of non-vanishing disturbance despite slow-rate sampling and delay of sensor. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed control method is demonstrated via simulation results of a practical example of the visual servoing control for an inertially stabilized platform.

With the development and application of computer vision, many target detection networks are applied to the detection of floating objects in rivers. For the detection problems such as small targets easily missed and misdetected in water surface floating object detection tasks and difficult to deploy models. An edge computing-oriented approach to river floater detection is proposed. First, a four-fold down-sampling feature layer is added to the YOLOv5 network which enhances more target detail features and improves the detection capability of small objects. Second, CA (Coordinate Attention) is added to the Backbone to suppress background noise interference, and different pooling is used to accommodate different hierarchical features. Then, a bilinear interpolation method is adopted for up-sampling to avoid the loss of small object features. Design a data enhancement algorithm for small targets based on Mosaic to increase the number of small objects and enrich the training background. Finally, for the edge computing architecture platform, the channel pruning algorithm is used to prune and compress the model structure to adapt to the computing capability of edge devices. The experimental results show that the method can effectively improve the detection capability of the network for floating objects on the water surface. The detection accuracy can reach 93.6%, and the detection speed can be maintained at 36 frames per second, which can achieve high-precision real-time detection of floating objects on the water surface. © 2023 IEEE.

Multimodal emotion recognition has great application scenarios in the field of human-computer interaction, and the main task lies in how to capture and handle the consistency and complementarity of multimodal signals. However, in numerous scenarios, multimodal fusion is significantly challenged by variances in the strengths and weaknesses of different modality signals in carrying emotional information. This paper aims to learn the essential information of strong modalities and inter-modality correlations thus achieving better emotion recognition. We propose an adaptive multimodal emotion recognition framework based on collaborative discriminative learning (AMCDL), a framework for emotion recognition that engages in collaborative learning and adjusts to the information-processing capabilities of various emotion recognition models. AMCDL calculates the inter-modality correlation using Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA) and uses it as an influencing factor to boost the multiplicative combination method to create a class loss function. When trained on several modalities, the class loss function can integrate complementary information to enable strong modal expression, enhancing emotion perception. On the benchmark dataset CMU-MOSI, AMCDL significantly improves classification accuracy when compared to the state-of-the-art models. The experiments showed the flexibility and generality of AMCDL by applying several emotion recognition models to it and producing better classification results than the original model.
