Scale-free distributed control for the DC MG cluster under DoS attacks: An asynchronous switched strategy

This paper studies the voltage restoration problem of the DC Microgrid (MG) cluster with a two-layer communication structure under Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks. Based on the open multiagent framework, an asynchronous switching strategy is designed to suppress the impact of DoS attacks on the entire MG cluster's voltage restoration. Meanwhile, we derived the relationship between attack model parameters and communication link switching mode selection through the general model of DoS attacks and asynchronous switching methods based on average dwell time. Moreover, the designed distributed control protocol is scale-free;that is, it does not rely on any information from the two-layer communication structure and the number of distributed generations (DGs), which makes it universal. Through rigorous theoretical proof, it has been proven that in the DC MG cluster with two-layer communication structures, voltage restoration can be achieved regardless of the number and structure of DGs being attacked. Finally, two simulation examples on the MATLAB/SimPowerSystem, including a DC MG cluster consisting of 8 DGs and an IEEE 33-node system are used to investigate the scalability and flexibility of the proposed distributed control algorithm. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

Mobile robotic networks (MRNs) have received considerable attention in recent years. Among their wide applications, the interaction topology plays a critical role in achieving efficient cooperation. We demonstrate that the observable interaction process of MRNs under formation control will reveal the interaction topology, presenting increasingly viable threats to the security of MRNs. To practice, we focus on a general situation where the external observer has only partial observation over the global MRN and aims to infer the interaction topology. This is a very challenging problem because the observable state evolution is a coupled consequence of the underlying interaction topology, the unknown leader dynamics, and the unobservable part. To address this issue, we novelly identify the steady pattern of the MRN and filter the impacts of the observable parts by shrinking the inference range. By constructing the informative dataset reflecting the interaction process, the local interaction topology is approximated with high accuracy. Simulations illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

Gene splicing site recognition is a very important research topic in smart healthcare. Gene splicing site recognition is of great significance, not only for the large-scale and high-quality computational annotation of genomes but also for the analysis and recognition of the gene sequences evolutionary process. It is urgent to study a reliable and effective algorithm for gene splice site recognition. Traditional Twin Support Vector Machine (TWSVM) algorithm has advantages in solving small-sample, nonlinear, and high-dimensional problems, but it cannot deal with parameter selection well. To avoid the blindness of parameter selection, particle swarm optimization algorithm was used to find the optimal parameters of twin support vector machine. Therefore, a Particle Swarm Optimization Twin Support Vector Machine (PSO-TWSVM) algorithm for gene splicing site recognition was proposed in this paper. The proposed algorithm was compared with traditional Support Vector Machine algorithm, TWSVM algorithm, and Least Squares Support Vector Machine algorithm. The comparison results show that the positive sample recognition rate, negative sample recognition rate, and correlation coefficient (CC) of the proposed algorithm are the best among the four different support vector machine algorithms. The proposed algorithm effectively improves the recognition rate and the accuracy of splice sites. The comparison experiments verify the feasibility of the proposed algorithm. © 2023 Fuquan Zhang et al.

Recently, official statistics reported that the Chinese population aged 60 and above has been 26.402 million, which accounts for 18.70% of total population. It is urgent to develop fall detection technologies for alleviating the risk causing by falling of elder person. In this paper, we propose a real-time, high-precision, and deep learning-based fall detection method with automatic person detection and tracking. Specifically, the proposed method first improves the YOLOv3 network to more efficiently detect person and extract feature maps of the object. Then, it inputs the extracted feature maps from the YOLOv3 into a multi-target tracking network for cascade matching and IOU matching in a Deep SORT algorithm, respectively. Next, it improves YOLOv5 network to detect posture anomalies. Finally, it refines the detected posture anomalies for obtaining the final fall detection result. Experimental results show that the proposed method simultaneously improves accuracy and efficiency of the fall detection.

This paper addresses the 6D challenge of monocular 6D pose estimation on small targets and weak texture objects. We propose a monocular object pose estimation algorithm, High Resolution Object Pose Estimation (HRPE) based on the high-resolution feature representation, which detects the 2D keypoints and uses the Perspective-n-Point (PnP) algorithm to compute the 6D pose. HRPE can maintain high-resolution feature representation through parallel convolution of multi-resolution feature branches and repeated cross-scale fusion, generating more precise pose estimation. Experimental results show that HRPE surpasses the existing state-of-the-arts, and achieves a significant accuracy improvement for small objects, which demonstrates the effectiveness of high-resolution feature representation on pose estimation.

To improve the performance of the NOx sensor, a combined model based on the electrochemical model and the diffusion model is developed for the NOx pumping cell of the NOx sensor. Considering that a small amount of oxygen enters the third chamber and part of NO is decomposed in the second chamber, the electrochemical model simultaneously considers the reactions of NO and oxygen at cathode, and the diffusion model additionally considers the diffusion of oxygen and the decomposition of NO. To validate the model at different gas concentrations, the sensor is mounted on the designed test rig. Then, the simulation results are compared with experimental data from the test rig and good agreement is obtained. In addition, three key parameters of the model of the NOx pumping cell are analyzed. The values and changing trends of these three parameters are given in the paper. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Teachers are never the only teacher in the class, especially in online e-learning environment. The key learner who is supposed to be more active and eager to spread knowledge and motivation to other classmates has a huge potentiality to improve the quality of teaching. However, the identification of such key learner is challenging which needs lots of human experience, especially when the contact channels between teachers and students are much more monotonous in online e-learning environment. Inspired by resistance distance theory, in this paper, we apply resistance distance and centrality into an interactive network of learners to identify key learner who can effectively motivate the whole class with discussion in e-learning platform. First, we define the terms of interactive network of learners with the node, edge, and graph. Then the distance between nodes is replaced with effective resistance distance to gain better understanding of propagation among the learners. Afterward, Closeness Centrality is utilized to measure the centrality of each learner in interactive network of learners. Experimental results show that the centrality we use can cover and depict the learners’ discussion activities well, and the key learner identified by our approach under apposite stimuli can effectively motivate the whole class’ learning performance. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.

Cutting out an object and estimating its opacity mask, known as image matting, is a key task in image and video editing. Due to the highly ill-posed issue, additional inputs, typically user-defined trimaps or scribbles, are usually needed to reduce the uncertainty. Although effective, it is either time consuming or only suitable for experienced users who know where to place the strokes. In this work, we propose a decomposed-uncertainty-guided matting (dugMatting) algorithm, which explores the explicitly decomposed uncertainties to efficiently and effectively improve the results. Basing on the characteristic of these uncertainties, the epistemic uncertainty is reduced in the process of guiding interaction (which introduces prior knowledge), while the aleatoric uncertainty is reduced in modeling data distribution (which introduces statistics for both data and possible noise). The proposed matting framework relieves the requirement for users to determine the interaction areas by using simple and efficient labeling. Extensively quantitative and qualitative results validate that the proposed method significantly improves the original matting algorithms in terms of both efficiency and efficacy. For battery management systems, it is significant to reliably estimate state-of-charge (SOC) from limited measurements in real time. Based on a nonlinear SOC-dependent equivalent circuit model, we propose a real-time moving horizon estimation (MHE) algorithm for SOC estimation. For efficient computation, the sequential quadratic programming strategy is applied, and each quadratic programming (QP) iteration is solved via the structure-exploiting forward and backward recursions. To account for the limited computation time allowed within each sampling interval, the proposed algorithm does not fully solve the receding horizon optimization problem over each sliding window, but performs fixed number of QP iterations. The simulation results show that compared to the existing fully solved MHE applied to SOC estimation, the proposed real-time MHE algorithm significantly saves computation time at the cost of a slight loss of estimation performance.
